Name: Horse Whisperer Taken By: Open Catching: No Members: 1-2 Rewards: 15PD SB Description: A local Breeder accidentally left the latches to one of their gates open, and many of their Pokemon managed to escape! While all but one were recovered, a certain Ponyta is still on the loose and was last spotted making her way off towards Route 22 – try and get her back before she makes her way to the rougher terrain!
LOCATIONS: Viridian City
So she’d been looking over the entire listings again; and this time found something that was more her speed—something that involved agility, which she had a lot of (and she wasn’t sure if he had any of it) and didn’t involve something downright creepy. So here she was again, in Viridian City, looking around for the harried Breeder that had apparently forgotten to lock the corral door, therefore allowing one of the Ponytas there to run wild and free. After finally spotting said Breeder (and getting as much information as she could) she quickly made her way towards the Route where she’d seen the crater that had seemingly blasted a hole in the ground. It still wasn’t filled—at least to her latest knowledge—and then she quickly made her way towards where Viridian branched out to where Kanto’s version of Victory Road was located; and seeing that there was nobody who knew what was going on.
A few moments later, she thought she heard the sound of hooves, and picked up her pace. She then applied as much speed as she could manage, quickly darting and dashing throughout the rough terrain, making sure to mind where she stepped—because one false misstep would result in a twisted ankle, or worse! “Drat you, why was I not informed that this Ponyta I’m chasing down is one of the fastest little buggers I’ve encountered in a while…” she hissed, quickly flicking her hair out of her line of vision and cutting across a rock that was in the way—she didn’t know where the exact location of the crater is, but then she heard a loud neigh and knew that she was slowly, but surely catching up! Come on, stupid horse… who knew they were this fast?! She hissed in her mind as she continued to pick her way through the rocky roads, making sure to hop over ledges as necessary—because she knew that they could jump high—and that was a bad thing (at least, from the information that the Breeder had given her).
The long black cloak whipped around wildly with the force of the wind that was blowing in from the terrain, with his boots firmly planted upon not the ground but the steel hard head of his trusty Steelix the man with the crimson eyes had a birds eye view of the landscape. From this vantage point he found himself scouring the landscape for any signs of the Ponyta they had been tasked with capturing, by them meaning Izumi, and himself the man watched his eyes focused upon the land, then he spotted it. The Ponyta running free against the wind, the flames that made up its main flowing wildly as it continued to charge in a random direction heading off further into the wilds he reached for the Pokeball which contained Xatu, unclipping it from his belt he would enlarge the sphere in his hand then allow it to flick open with that a brilliant light shot up towards the sky swirling, and contorting its shape until finally becoming the Xatu he had trained. However before he even gave the command to set out, the trainer would raise a brow when his crimson eyes noticed someone chasing after the Ponyta, ”Are you serious?” was all he said when he realized just who exactly was giving chase to the Ponyta, the male would sigh shaking his head. Personally he found the act to be a waste of time, and effort did she honestly believe she would catch up to the Pokemon that was meant for speed? Regardless he would not ruin her fun, lest he wished to face her fury for doing so..
”Xatu, trail the Ponyta if Izumi fails to stop it intervene” with that the Xatu would spread his wings before hovering towards the location where the chase was unfolding, he would pick up speed in order to catch up to the running Ponyta, once he had done just that the Xatu would bring his speed down. Using both a combination of its natural aerial maneuvers, and psychic energy to calibrate its speed to be exactly above the Ponyta, with this he remained above the Pokemon looking down with a diligent eye waiting for his opportunity to swoop down, and put an end to this chase. To be honest the Pokemon was tempted to just jump the gun, do this now get it over with but he knew that if he did that there would be less than pleasant consequences for his trainer, so instead he kept hovering above looking down, eyes focused.

Was it just her, or was her running speed slowing down—or was the Ponyta going much faster than she wanted to?! Hissing under her breath, she watched as a shadow seemingly swooped down from overhead, before realizing that she was being followed! She let her eyes flick up for a few moments before seeing a familiar-looking bird… and then rolling her eyes as her thoughts suddenly shouted, so you’re nearby eh?! Why have someone else do the dirty work when you can just show your face… she thought out of disgust, though her face was a bit flushed. She then realized that there was a huge crater on Route 22, and then hoping that it hadn’t been filled in yet, she continued to keep up the chase on foot… and then she heard a loud and surprised neighing noise! Wondering why it was so, she continued to run, seeing that there was a wire fence put up—she leapt over it as fast as she could manage—and then realized that she was falling downwards from the air! “What the—“ she began, before it became a full-out yelp of shock, “WHOA!”
Feeling her feet flail for a few seconds before realizing that she was falling in the deep crater caused by whatever had battled here (and she was sure that Claire was behind it—she’d told her herself about it) she then arranged her feet so that she would be skidding down the slope and not rolling, but getting such a landing right the first time was hard—and she learned that the hard way, at first rolling down the slope, before quickly grabbing the nearest obstacle and stopping her descent! “Shit,” she had time to hiss, before pulling herself up gingerly—at least she’d fallen down in a roll, though her left shoulder was throbbing due to the impact. She then hissed in pain, before sliding down the inclined slope—and she saw that the Ponyta was down below, neighing and bucking around nervously—for how had it fallen into this predicament? Apparently the fire horse had jumped high, but had miscalculated and started skidding down the exact same terrain that was damaged, before finally coming to a full stop at the “ground” of the crater below.
She could hear its neighing, and she quickly picked up the pace sliding down the crater’s face—why had it not been filled up yet—and then came to a stop in front of the said horse, which was stamping its hooves on the ground in an agitated manner. She then backed up, before slowly approaching it… “Hey there, little one. Calm down, girl… shhhh,” she tried, cautiously stepping forward and showing that she meant no harm at all. “I know you suddenly fell and found yourself here, but I’m here to get you out and bring you home, okay? Take it easy, take it easy…” she continued, quickly switching to her best soothing voice and slowly but surely approaching the rogue horse—before it neighed once, twice, and then stopped. It could sense that she meant no harm, and allowed Izumi to approach her before she slowly reached out and then began petting its smooth head. “Calm down, girl… I’ll get you out of here…” she continued in that same soft voice, slowly rubbing her hand up and down the Ponyta’s neck.
After a while of soothing it, she then looked up and saw that the Xatu was still circling overhead, and then called to it, “If you can understand me, get your boss over here. I think I’m going to need some help getting out of this crater…” she gestured with her other hand in a sweeping manner, denoting that it would be too dangerous to lead the Ponyta up and out of the crater. There was no way she was risking it getting injured, at this point in time.
He had no idea what was happening he was simply standing atop the head of Steelix waiting in silence for this all to be wrapped up so he could get this mission done with, Xatu on the other hand witnessed the entire fiasco the Pokemon did not even attempt to help the girl for all he cared she could die it was not his job to protect her despite how Bunji seemed to feel about her. It was then that Xatu looked down again to hear the woman call out to him, without so much as the slightest acknowledgment the Xatu would circle once more before vanishing in a flash of psychic energy. Moment later he reappeared alongside the woman with the Ponyta, but also with Bunji the male stared down at the girl, and the fallen horse. He would sigh as he looked up at the crater, and then back down to Izumi, opening a POkeball he released Steelix the Titanic Pokemon would slither around the crater giving them all space to be accommodated by the space provided by the crater itself. ”Xatu teleport out of here with the Ponyta, Izumi we will ride Steelix out” he said as he jumped up onto the head of the Steelix, turning he reached down to offer her a hand up next to him. Xatu would stare at the fire Pokemon, then without much mind he would release another pulse of psychic energy teleporting them both out of the crater, once outside the bird would stand alongside the Ponyta watching it, if it tried to run he would make sure to stop it.
If Izumi took his head or jumped up herself he would hold onto the Steelix then the serpent would climb up the side of the crater leading them both out, once they were out it would lower its head allowing them to hop off with that Bunji would return Steelix to his respective Pokeball once both he, and Izumi were off of its head. ”….it would have been more efficient if Xatu would have stopped it, as opposed to going through so much trouble” he explained with a tone that carried the words with annoyance. The male would walk over to Xatu, and the Ponyta staring at the fire Pokemon for a moment then taking his crimsons from it not really bothering with it, ”We should head back, return this Pokemon to her rightful owner” he explained to the girl, keeping his eyes focused on the distance. Xatu on the other hand remained near the Pokemon ready again in case it tried anything, they had already tried doing this the human’s way, and it didn’t work out very well so he would be willing to do things his way this time around.

“Trouble? You call that so much trouble?” she said, finally having exited the gigantic crater with the Ponyta in tow—well, certainly not in tow, but in their possession—and then turned around, looking at the sky. “You crazy fool, you made this crater, didn’t you?” she asked, pointing behind her—she’d ridden out of the gigantic hole, hanging on to one segment of the Steelix’s diamond-hard body (it most certainly did not feel like rock) and then proceeded to dust herself up and off of dust and grit that had stuck to her clothes. Kicking the ground impatiently, she then rolled her eyes in his direction (she made sure that he wasn’t looking at her first though) and could only sigh—had that organization corrupted him so much he had become this stubborn? What happened to you… she began to herself, watching and following his lead—but staying close to the Ponyta, keeping it calm with her presence alone.
Almost unconsciously, she reached her hand out to the fire horse’s mane, and then gave it a rub—for some reason it didn’t burn her—at least for the moment. “Come on, let’s go… don’t run away again now, okay…” she said in a soothing tone, calming down the irrepressible wild spirit of the Ponyta as they made their way back to Viridian City—and to the Breeder that had accidentally set this “wild one” loose! She could hear the Breeder’s shout of joy and hurried thanks, before watching it being led off to the corral and sent back in, to graze with the others of its kind. She then sighed, and then crossed her arms, before saying, “You’re so anticlimactic, you know?” and then sighing; what had warped this red-headed man so much he was such a cold entity… “C’mon let’s get out of here…” she trailed off, directing her steps back to the city.
