Things had become difficult, he had already tasted the caliber of trainers that made up the ranks of the organization he was aiming to take down he had battled Yumi upon his return to Kanto thanks to some information he received from Kuto he was able to find the hideout, despite that he knew that Yumi was not a big problem to his plans the girl was strong, but he was confident he could persuade her in some way to leave the Rockets. Aside from that he finds himself now realizing that taking such foolish rush tactics towards the Rockets to be less than effective, the time had come for him to change tactics it would at least seem as such but he was not so confident in his plans. It is for this reason that he finds himself here in Celadon city, a small round table found itself with his forearm resting atop the hard wooden surface, and a pair of chairs one already occupied by him rested there. The rest of the café was empty, and at least on the outside this was the only table he needed to talk to her, he needed to get her point of view on his plan perhaps it was their past that made him find more confidence in her at this point than anyone else.
Whatever it was he had already contacted her, now he was just waiting for Azi to show up maybe the woman could shed some new light on his troubles perhaps even show him an option he had not considered yet, whatever happened he would keep his ears open for any suggestions. Although he also suspected Azi would slap him from across this table once she heard his idea, the male would lean back on his chair allowing his body to relax the cloak he normally wore he had ditched instead going with a black buttoned shirt that was unbuttoned showing a tightly fitting white shirt under that compliment his toned physique well, aside form that the rolled up sleeves of the buttoned over shirt showed off more of his newfound physique by showing those forearms of his. With a rather lazy expression the male with the crimson eyes watched every individual that passed by hoping to settle his eyes upon Izumi at any given point…

So it was another day, another time of travelling around the Kanto area. Now that she was busy tailing him, she’d told him that she would be going off to Pewter to hunt for some information, seeing as that was the closest city that had a museum that would probably have information on what she was… on what they were up to. All of the information she’d acquired was written down in that small notepad she’d brought along with her (she was in need of more of these) and then decided to make her way to where he said he would be waiting—it also happened to be another point of Rocket’s history; for it was Celadon City, and the so-called Game Corner still existed, even though its original proprietors were seemingly nowhere to be found… sometimes I still don’t understand what the hell he’s up to, she thought, quickly looking over the address that was given to her seemingly in code. Lucky I insisted on having some kind of short-hand so that we can deliver messages to each other… she added to herself, finally spotting the location—ironically it was a café, yet it was practically deserted—save for one figure who was seated at one of the inside tables.
Sighing at why he would pick such an exposed location, she then made her way inside; hearing chimes from above as the door swung back on its hinges. There were no staff members nearby, and the urge of just grabbing an apron from the back room overtook her—if but for a moment. She then shelved those urges to one side and took out something from her back pocket—it was revealed to be a hair clip, an she deftly inserted it into her hair, making it stay out of her face—as she believed that eye contact was very essential to understanding the message that one had to say. Scooting her way over to the table, she then sat herself down on the chair across from his, and then cleared her throat. “So, why did you choose here, of all places?” she began, her voice low, so that only they could hear what they were going to converse about at that moment. You better have a good explanation ready for this choice of location, mister… she trailed off once more in the back of her mind, resisting the urge to just swing her hand and slap him again—she could still see that her slap had left a faint marking on his face, though it was fading quickly.
The searching eyes that looked through the crowd for the familiar face with the stunning amber eyes would soon settle upon the figure of the familiar female, it was Azi, the girl approached the table tying her hair into a knot as she soon sat herself down her tone definitely matched her furious expression, she had not changed one bit. He could still remember with great clarity the times she found herself scolding him for any little thing, when Azi lost her temper it was something to watch out for indeed the male sat there listening to her concerns. All he could do was smile in response glancing over at her, giving her a single answer ”Hide in plain sight” he said with a tone of confidence with that out of the way he felt it was time to move onto the reason why they were both here. ”…I know you have been tailing me all over Kanto, trust me I am aware of you being around, even though I know you wont listen to me…and stay away so I will admit I am somewhat glad you are around. Right now…I need someone’s perspective on something” he mentioned to her with a low tone, just loud enough for her to hear. Bunji tapped the table a few times his mind lost in thought as he tried to gather the proper words to piece together the message he was trying to get across, he was hoping still that Azi would not lose her cool, if she overreacted here in a public place attention they did not need would shine down on them.
Finally after what was only a few seconds but may have seemed like a long time of deep silence the male would break the silence with his smooth tone once again ringing into the open ears of the girl, ”…you know what I am planning on doing, but…I think I am going about it the wrong way, so I am considering an alternative to my original plan. Instead of charging head on like a Zangoose towards the crowd of Seviper…I will stand with them as a Seviper, and hurt them from the inside” he paused for a moment hoping his wording had not confused the girl, maybe she’d get the picture despite his codes. After another moment longer of silence he continued on, ”I was once one of them, if I can find a weakness, an opening of sorts I can get back in from the inside I can manipulate my way to the top a position of power. One where I can control them, I can bring them under new management or better yet put someone else in charge someone whom shares my ideals…as opposed to bombarding the fort from the inside, take it out from within…I know this is sudden but, I need your opinion” he whispered to the girl wondering just how she may react to all this.

This was Izumi’s first reaction to his entire plan, once he’d laid it all out: “Are you crazy?” she intoned, placing particular emphasis on the “crazy” part of the three words she’d let drop from her lips. Her mind had pretty much taken and understood it quite well; however, there was just one big hole she could see in the plan… “How the hell are you going to get back inside again, since you already left? I’m pretty sure that they’re not going to take you back in lightly. If ever they did, they’d torture and beat you senseless for deserting them in the first place. Don’t take me for stupid, I know how crime organizations in general deal with snitches and all that,” she continued, quickly and deftly reaching for her back pocket… before slapping down a notepad in front of him. The sound of paper hitting the surface echoed between them, but it was still far too quiet within the café.
She then gestured towards it, and said, “That’s as much I could gather from Pewter. I did a little backtracking and checking of my own, but I kept on getting old news. But oftentimes though, it’s better to be armed with knowledge of the past in order to face the present… because old habits just simply die hard,” she ended, placing emphasis on the last three words. “You have to remember, though, if you get caught… they are not going to take that too lightly…” she continued, shuddering at the knowledge of the rest of the books she’d read about crime syndicates in general—hell, Team Rocket had a whole chapter to themselves in that book—and she then sighed. “You know I am not going to stop following you, trailing you, keeping an eye on you… it’s like I carry the will of Lavaridge with me,” she added, giving a very pronounced sigh at the end of that particular sentence.
It seemed Izumi did not like the sound of his little plan, but then again could he really blame her for such? Even he had to admit that this plan of his was just insane, he had no way of guaranteeing that he would be okay her words would put a thought in his mind a big ‘what if’ that would question whether he really was willing to go through with this. She was right when she mentioned what they would do to him if they got their hands on him, but even then the man knew he had to somehow get through to them in order to be able to exact is revenge. It was not until his attention was brought to the notepad on the table that he raised a brow listening to Izumi’s explanation, reaching for said notepad he began to read over the contents of it in silence. Those crimson orbs of his took in every detailed not the girl had written into the pages of the notepad, until he stopped when he looked up at Izumi not setting the notepad down but keeping it in his hand. ”I have to say you impress me sometimes, despite what I did to you, despite my leaving you the way I did…you are still willing to help me even though you know how dangerous this is…” the male paused finally setting the book down on the table once again, keeping his hand on the page to keep it open he would look at Izumi.
”I cannot express my gratitude enough for you, what I can do however is tell you that I will do the same for you. I will always be here to protect you, I will be at your side to lend you a hand” he said to the girl showing his gratitude for her help in the best way he could think of. ”As for this information it was useful, just make sure you are careful with gathering this…if the Rockets catch wind of someone snooping around you may find yourself in a bad situation, if that happens contact me as soon as you can…as for the plan I know it sounds crazy, but to be honest with you Izumi I feel at a loss here. I don’t know what to do anymore” he said to her feeling a heavy sigh escape his parted lips. The male would sit there his finger caressing the page of the notepad in silence, his mind was weighing the options he knew of, and trying to decide his next move…yes this had all turned out a lot harder than he had originally expected it to be.

“It was pretty easy to get, really… considering that for some reason, as compared to Hoenn, Kanto updates their history books pretty quickly, and I cannot understand why. Although it is for the best… and I am always careful, why do you think I follow you at a certain pace whenever you are out and about?” she began, silently tapping her finger against the table. After a moment, she then realized something, and then quickly brought it up. “So, while I was travelling to Pewter, I heard some rumors on the grapevine. There’s a huge crater there out on Route 22… and a red-haired individual caused that. I thought you were going to keep to yourself and not draw attention?” she asked in quite the accusatory tone, because really, how many red-headed people did she know that had a Nidoking and a Steelix? Just this one in front of her…
“And here I was under the assumption that you were operating in secrecy, but did you really have to blast a hole on that route leading to Johto? Now there’s a huge hole in the ground and it’s become harder for people to pass out from one side to another. Are you crazy?” she continued, resisting the urge to roll her eyes, before finally burying her face in her hands and shaking her head to clear out the thoughts that were bothering her. “Let me ask you,” she said after a moment of silence, “…have you contacted anyone else who is still with your former affiliation or not and informed them of your… wild idea?” she ended, making sure to use enough coded words so that whoever else was inside the café would think that they were just talking about normal things, exchanging information from one part of the world for another.
So she knew about the battle he had taken part in near Viridian City? He had to admit he was surprised with how well Izumi had gathered information, going so far as to figuring that out but then again that spelled trouble for him as well, it meant word had gotten out about that battle it meant that some hostile ears may have caught the information. This would bring a legitimate concerned expression to Bunji’s face, allowing Izumi to say her bit he would speak as soon as she was done ”….that battle I admit it got out of hand really fast, but the woman I was engaged in battle with…” he paused for a moment his crimson eyes narrowed as he flashbacked to that very battle. The images in his head flashing through his eyes at an accelerated pace, closing his eyes as if to put an end to the slideshow of memories he would soon open them again before continuing with ”The woman claimed to be an ex Rocket, so I battled her in hopes that I could force any information from her. Unfortunately after the battle was done we had drawn too much attention, so we were both forced to go our separate ways before the police arrived to investigate all the ruckus.” pausing his explanation the male would remain quiet now, he agreed with Izumi completely he needed to be more subtle with his approach.
”No one else, sorry but you are the only person I truly rust with this…me and you we once had something in the past, we…were more than friends so I guess for that reason I feel comfortable putting a great deal of trust in you” he explained to the girl giving her a nod of approval, with that he figured he should move on despite the fact that he could see Izumi’s clear frustration. Standing he stuffed the notepad into his cloak, tapping Izumi on the shoulder he motioned his head towards the door to exit this café, ”Let’s get out of here yeah? We can both get some much needed fresh air, walk, clear our heads…sitting here all stuffy won’t get us anywhere” his tone change it was again much kinder, and his presence seemed more welcoming. Walking out of the door the male stepped outside greeted by the warmth of the sun, and the warm wind sweeping in through the city, combing away from loose bangs of hair he waited for Izumi to make her way out as well.

She could only smirk in triumph—so he did still have some feelings for her! She could only imagine Momo’s reaction if she was around to hear those words—but at the moment, she was resting in her own Pokeball, ready to be called on if needed. She then stood up and then followed him out, before adding to herself, “I need that notepad back—but what the hell, who cares, you can have it,” she added, quickly kicking her sneakers on the floor and following him through the maze of chairs and out into the sunshine. Now that they were outside, she then turned to him, and then said, “Well, I’m glad to find out that you still have trust in me,” before hitching her hands up and behind her head, because she needed a stretch and all that. “So, humor me, how exactly are you going to get your ‘grand plan’ into motion? Because there are some holes in it, from what I can pick out,” she said, before lapsing into silence and just wandering around Celadon.
After a while she came to a stop and then turned to face him, before asking once more, “Why don’t you want to live a peaceful life? Or are you just that determined to bring them down… what happened to you? You weren’t like this before, you know? What… what made you change?” she persisted—she knew that the answer that he’d given her back in Lavaridge was just the surface of it all—there had to be some more depth and back story to add to his… rather measly explanation. Why did you turn so cold, so taciturn, and so harsh? You may look the same, but your soul is not the same Bunji that I know… she thought to herself, picking out her steps carefully and looking to one side, if but to catch a flicker of expression on his face.
Once the girl was out he would turn his eyes upon her resting those crimson orbs on her facial features, taking in the details of the woman he once had feelings for, and to this day there seemed to be but fragments of what he was starting to feel was an incomplete ending to their relationship but did he really have a right to linger on such things? Despite the fact that she was here helping him, and despite the fact that she obviously felt something for him the man was unable to act upon his thoughts, he had stepped too far into the deep end at this point he was focused upon his goal it was a dangerous one so there was no room for such attachments. He began to walk alongside the girl the two remained at each other’s side, his ears open to her every word the questions that came from her all justified, and all deserving of an honest answer, he would tackle them one at a time ”I plan to enter Team Rocket, by making myself seem like a polished tool, many in the team must know of my incompetence that I showed in the past when I marched under their banner. So now I will make myself see like a threat, but also a tool that will want if I willingly give them my loyalty I can hope they will allow me back in, perhaps some meaningless test will be put before or perhaps not. All this remains to be seen…” the man spoke with a dull tone, his expression remaining the same as it always had serious, and lacking of any real emotion, at least in his eyes. Bunji would remain quiet just for a moment before his dialogue continued with, ”As for your other question, I am afraid that I cannot be at peace there is something within me, something that burns endlessly within me…even if I tried to be at peace I would be unable to do so.”.
The male would stop walking, reaching over to Izumi he would place a hand on her shoulder his crimson eyes focused on her ”…why? Why does everyone whom I come across from my past wish for me to be the old me? He was weak, he did not have the power or the will to bring about a change that would shake the very foundation of an organization…” taking his hand from her shoulder he stepped forward until he was in front of her, his eyes settling upon her ambers. ”The old Bunji was lost, when he abandoned you in Lavaridge he thought he was setting out to become someone great…he wanted to be someone who would be able to protect you, and give you everything you wanted. A man that could be there for not only you, but all those lost souls he befriended along the way…yet in his path he become corrupted, and lost a weakling that forever stood under the shadow of the man whom he considered a friend. Twisted into the ideals of another, he no longer marched for his own beliefs but he acted for the beliefs of another…his ambitions no longer the same” Bunji would pause once more, his eyes seemingly showing a hint of emotion at this point those eyes that were so cold would seem to be washed over with heavy regret, that was normally buried under so much hate. His mind instantly flooded with memories of Yumi, the red head girl he had met during his time as a rocket, and the red head he was forced to leave behind when he exiled himself.
”….I was lost, until I met her…a girl named Yumi, she too is a Rocket, yet there was something different about her something that brought about a feeling inside of me a want for change. I cannot explain why, but her eyes reminded me of yours…then it happened I was betrayed by Kooga, tossed aside left to rot…I exiled myself to Hoenn, and there I was reborn my once twisted ideals became clear to me. This is not about revenge, this is not about justice. What I am doing is about bringing change, a change to a regime that is broken I aim to fix that which is broken, and remodel to my ideals…for too long did I march lost, and confused allowing someone to control me, no more now I will be the one to control everything within my grasp” with every word Bunji had slowly regained himself, his eyes that once filled with regret now returned to their usual cold expression, he did not glare at Izumi how he did others he simply gave her a stare one lacking emotion. He remained quiet stepping back for a moment, ”You think I am broken, don’t you?” he asked the girl tilting his head curiously to the side, those crimson eyes of his focused upon her searching her face for any signs of a lie or hesitation when she would answer.

“Think? You say ‘think’ like it’s nothing, but it’s more. so much more than that, you know,” she began, after listening in silence to his monologue—it seemed that he’d practiced long and hard for it, but apparently the way he strung words together sounded like it wasn’t. She sighed, before continuing, “Your ambition warped you, it twisted you, it made you someone different…” she began after a period of silence as they walked together around the city. As much as she wanted to reach out and take his hand in hers, something was stopping her from doing so, but what was making her hesitate? It’s not that I don’t doubt you, but please understand that you’re getting yourself tangled in something that may not have you alive after all this is over, she thought, struggling to formulate her words. When he’d mentioned that he’d met someone earlier, she then knew that the guillotine that was hanging over her head was falling—but would she be able to stop it?
“I—you know, it’s hard to accept the fact that you’ve found another person… I always had this notion that you and I would end up together, grow old together, take care of each other, but… after what you said, I’m not sure anymore. I don’t know if it was because you were the first guy to make my emotions flutter and sway, and I got swept up with everything… I guess I was wrong,” she said with a sigh, before looking down, resisting the urge to burst out into tears. She then continued, “Well, cal me stupid, but that’s how it is. It’s just that…” she stopped abruptly, and just stood there, finally letting it all out after taking a deep breath. “You understand that I’ve taken on the mantle of watching over you, our hometown’s prodigal son, and to make sure that you get home safe and sound? Do you have any idea how much it pains me to be away from there? Yes, I can contact my parents every day, but what about you? Your parents are gone… basically, everyone in Lavaridge is your family, and they’re worried about you, you know,” she said in one go, stopping herself from trembling and showing him her face—she was staring at the ground, but there were tears dripping down to the ground, and they spattered against her sneakers.
After another moment of silence, she continued, “I… I can’t risk taking you home in a box, you know… delivering you after you’re done with everything, and you end up killing yourself—or getting killed in the process—because of your notions of vengeance… I swore to myself I’d keep an eye for you—because that’s what your own mother would have wanted…” while balling her fists together, clenching and unclenching them to keep her emotions from rolling over her. “I don’t want to fail. You know how that feels. Even if you’d keep pushing me away… I’d still protect your back; even if you look down on me and consider me insignificant… I will get stronger…”
Even he would be unable to fully stand against such a flood of raw emotion, those cold eyes would slowly weaken their glare, the man who once stood cold, and distance now stared at the girl with an expression of shock distorting his normally serious expression. The stunning crimson eyes that once sustained a cold glare that seemed to never falter, would begin to soften as they widened every word that slipped from the mouth of his former lover hit him like a solid brick to the face. Why? Why would someone sacrifice so much for him? Was Izumi doing this because of what they once had? It was only when he thought about her admittance of pain, she was hurt knowing that he had found another but why? It wasn’t like he had anything official with Yumi, all Yumi was to him is a friend she was someone he cared for he wanted that red head to escape the vicious cycle of violence that she had trapped herself in, to find a better tomorrow. Regardless Bunji remained speechless, he was always one to give credit where credit was due despite how hard it may be to accept sometimes the man at this very moment was genuinely at a loss of words all he could do in the end was stare at Izumi, her beautiful ambers cast upon the ground, and tears raining down one after the other form her hidden face.
A hand would reach up gently cupping the girls face, with a gently motion he would hopefully get her to look up to him the man’s thumbs would gently caress her face at the same time making sure to wipe away the tears that trailed down her soft skin from her watery ambers, his eyes would shake away the wide shock, and become soft almost endearing in the way they stared at her. ”No more tears” he said to her with a gentle tone, reminiscent of the tone he used with her when they were young, and together back in Lavaridge a weak smile would adorn his masculine features as he continued to caress her face in his hands. Despite the time that had passed since their time together, there was something deep inside of him, a fragment if you will that at this very moment had been intensified by the raw display of emotion that Izumi had shown him. That fragment was the part of him that had always regretted leaving her, the piece of him that screamed at him for days to go back to her, it was the part of his conscious that beat away at him internally for doing what he did to this poor girl. ”I’ve never forgotten how happy I was when we were together…despite the years that hae separated us since, I always remembered that in Lavaridge there was a girl, one who made me happy, one who I was able to share so much with, and I am grateful for that…” the male paused as he inched closer to her, his nose brushing hers gently at the tip.
Bunji’s crimsons remained locked on her amber eyes as he continued, ”…this is why I am so sorry for what you are going through, but I promise I will sacrifice as much as you have, and although our future is uncertain, I will tell you that deep down I still cherish you” he whispered to her just before leaning in to press his lips against hers, his tongue slipped between her lips gently brushing her tongue with his own. Bunji’s hands would slide down to embrace Izumi in a hug, their bodies pressed tightly against one another as he continued to express his feelings through this passion driven kiss, that came from a moment where forgotten emotions where stirred up, and went beyond even his own control.

She had no idea how much of an effect her words had on him, and she was still staring at the ground, unable to look him in the face after the last few words she’d left hanging in the air disappeared—they were replaced with words coming from him, and that was surprising; because when she heard his request for her to stop crying, she kept on going—how long had she kept all of this bottled up? Let’s just say that it had been three years of torment for her (and for Momo as well) and well, there was no other place for those emotions but deep inside her; for she knew that if an empath was overloaded with negative emotions, it would drive them crazy. She knew that there was another ‘mon hat feasted on the negativity that floated in the air, and she’d caught Rachen (her Gastly) for exactly that reason; to counter-balance the positives in her life.
“So… so you’ve never forgotten, after all this time…” she said after what felt like an infinity of silence, finally getting the courage to look up and stare at his crimson orbs. “Do you remember… do you remember how it feels to be human…?” she asked tentatively, feeling a single tear drop down from her eye as she said it; she’d bared so much of what she’d been harboring inside just a while ago, and now that she’d done so, she felt lighter… but there was still some of that turmoil bubbling within her. She felt her face flush; she had no idea just how red her face was at the moment when he’d suddenly stood dangerously close and bushed the tip of his nose against hers, and then all sensations were muted as he came in and kissed on the lips! Who was she to argue; it was the kind of contact she’d been looking for after all those years of separation…
Unconsciously, she nudged his head closer, before kissing back softly at first, and then all the raw emotion that was coursing through her finally woke her up and she then kissed back so fiercely, se didn’t argue when he started tickling her lips with his tongue. She nudged his body closer, and the two eventually ended up crashing against a lamp post (with her leaning on it, but thankfully avoiding hitting her head as she was busy) and her free hand quickly found his and she let her fingers snake into his, holding them tight. At that exact same moment, one of the Pokeballs in her pocket fell out, tumbling open, and in a flash of red light, Momo appeared, quite surprised to be called out of her temporary residence at such an inopportune… “Ki?” echoed throughout the area; and then her ‘mon’s own eyes widened at the sight—it was exactly what she was hoping for!
“Kirlia, kiiii~!” she trilled, doing a series of spins and twirls—she could feel the emotions seeping from the two and to be honest, it was making her go crazy with joy—were her “parents” finally going to end up together; or was it too much to hope for? “Kirlia, ki…” Momo muttered softly as she twirled around the two.
The kiss was well received, what started as a soft yet gentle expression of passion soon turned into an aggressive show of raw emotion that seemed to spill over the two, resulting with Izumi pinned to a pole Bunji gladly squeezed her hands when he felt hers within his grasp. Leaning into the kiss Bunji would have practically pinned Izumi’s head against the pole, the two tongues brushing against one another in a hectic dance as they continued to embrace each other, all the while their lips locked together. Lasting just a few minutes longer the kiss would soon end when Bunji pulled away, but he did not let go of Izumi, remaining close to her his forehead was resting against hers, and his crimson eyes were focused onto her amber eyes. Gently his hands would let go of hers sliding up to wrap around her in a tight embrace, the male rested his chin against the shoulder of the girl he had just shared a passionate kiss with, he was unsure himself as to what had just happened all he knew was that he had lost control of himself. It was then after his mind had settled that he noticed the dancing Pokemon that seemed to be twirling around them, at first his mind did not register what he was looking at but when he did his eyes widened stepping away from Izumi he stared at the Kirlia knowing very well who it was.
”Momo?” he still asked wit a curious tone, this prompt the small Psychic Pokemon to stop her spin, and focus her wide eyes on Bunji the male would kneel looking at the Pokemon, but as soon as he was within her range she practically jumped at him embracing the red haired male tightly. Bunji would happily return the embrace hugging Momo tightly, making sure not to hurt her seemingly fragile figure ”She evolved…I’m so proud of the two of you” he said those words aimed at both Izumi, and Momo relaxing from the embrace both human, and Pokemon gave each other space. With that Bunji pushed up to his feet standing upright as he turned to face Izumi, ”Don’t focus too much on me okay? You are a strong trainer, with your own goals….make them a reality Azi” with that he glanced over at Momo again. The man smiled as he placed a hand on her head, petting the psychic Pokemon which was rewarded with a happy smile from the psychic type, ”With a strong psychic type at your side! You can accomplish your goal…in fact we should maybe…have a practice battle for old times sake? Show me what you can do, I can give you pointers” he said to her with a chuckle, hoping he was not sounding too cocky.

“Oh, I will,” she said, more in a whisper as the contact finally broke away—and if one looked carefully enough, Izumi was licking her lips; because hell she’d never been kissed like that, and she thoroughly enjoyed that feeling! She then watched the interaction between “father” and “daughter” take place, who knew that Momo could jump that far and squeal for joy?! “Kirlia, kirlia, ki~” she hummed, hugging Bunji back in return, before getting a pet on the head, and then everything came snapping back to reality as she heard his next words. Hopefully Momo did not hear that, she’d have your head you know… she thought with this neutral look as Momo was just begging to be nuzzled; the sight of what had happened earlier had pretty much sent her into her “happy” mode once more.
At the sound of his next words, she then secretly cringed; she knew that he had more powerful ‘mons than she did, so she looked up and then said this, “I agree, on one condition—you don’t bring out that Steelix and Nidoking of yours. It wouldn’t be fair to me as I only have Momo with me at the moment… the only on who’s evolved,” she amended, jamming her other hand into her pockets; she was at a distinct disadvantage here; since he had more grown Pokemon and she only had one who’d managed to evolve in the span of time ever since he’d gone on that crazy “trip”… “Bring it on,” she said, flexing her fingers and then quickly giving a brief, but sharp whistle in Momo’s direction. She hoped that something good would come of this battle today…
It seemed the girl had accepted his challenge, Bunji gave her a nod to acknowledge her request reaching for one of the Pokeballs on his waist he pressed down on the middle button causing it to enlarge in his palm ”Well this is just a practice battle after all” he said to the girl as he opened the Pokeball in his hand, when he did a bolt of light shot up into the air before plummeting down to hit the ground. The light would twist, and morph until taking the shape of a four legged Pokemon. With the fading of the light a voice would cry out towards Momo, “Qui!” standing before her was Bunji’s Quilava, turning to notice her trainer the small fire type rushed over jumping into Bunji’s arms. The male caught the Pokemon only to be snuggled by her when he did, “Qui Qui!” she cried out happily being held by her trainer, petting her in an attempt to settle her down Bunji would say ”It’s time for our battle to begin Quilava, go out there, and train with Momo” he said with that the fire type looked over at Momo with a curious gaze, soon after jumping out of his arms. Sanding on all fours she flared the flames form her body taking a battle ready stance, ”Don’t worry she wont go all out, so I guess I’ll start us off! Quilava, cover the distance using Quick Attack!” his voice echoed into the ears of his Pokemon.
With a firm nod the Quilava charged forward towards the Kirlia, her speed picking up until she was a blur of an image charging straight for the psychic type. Bunji watched from afar wondering how Izumi would react to the attack, and all the while genuinely curious about how this battle would turn out, a smirk would firm on his face as he felt a sense of excitement for both Pokemon. This would be Quilava’s first true battle, that and it would also be a chance for him to get a glimpse at Momo’s skills in battle, to this day he could still remember the time he came across her in the wilds of Hoenn. Who would’ve known the small Pokemon would have grown so attached to him, she really was like a daughter to him…
