Title: A Difficult Choice Claimed By: Open Catching: No Members: 1-4 Rewards: •20 x1 Revive Description:Ah yes the tales of heroes, those who chase glory, those who aim to be the very best all that fun jazz. Yet if you believe these stories to be true then it is time for you to learn a hard lesson about life, the good guys don't always win. You have been hired with some simple task to destroy a nearby building located just North of Slateport City. The thing is within this building there was Pokemon, abused, beaten, and battered illegally bred Pokemon your instinct will tell you to save them all, yet the experts say no. The city does not have the funds to care for them all, and these Pokemon have spent all their life within a cage they would not survive a day in the wilderness with their more hardy counterparts. So the task is narrowed down to one simple decision, destroy the illegal breeding farm, with it the Pokemon putting them out of their misery deep down you know they deserve to suffer no more.
Notes: Locate the breeding farm first, then go on to destroy it however way you see fit.
Location: Slateport City
Ever since she’d decided to leave Lavaridge (albeit three years later) and finally start exploring the vast world of Hoenn; she was at a loss—for where was she to start? Of course, Izumi was here, taking a walk along with her entire motley crew out of their “residences”; Momo, Kuma, and their latest and newest addition, Asuka. There was something odd about her appearance in Slateport though—normally, shed only Fly between Lavaridge and Lilycove, but she’d been hired to do some “recon” work; not realizing how inhuman the ending would be. Of course, she was advocating about “getting to go out in the world and explore”—but never realized that this little thing she’d agreed to take on would tie her up and get her tangled again with someone she wanted to forget, but couldn’t at the same time.
“Mien?” she heard Asuka, the newest member of her troop, ask from somewhere near her knees, and felt a pull on her jean’s hemline—from both side. The side on the left was being tugged at by Asuka, and the side on the right—none other than Momo, her ever-lovable Ralts.
“Ralts?”
“Cub, cubchoo?”
Looking down at her crew, she then grinned and crouched down, before giving them all a pat on their heads respectively, then saying, “Well then, we’re here at Slateport… apparently I have to wait for our companion to get here so we can start this… ‘mission’,” she ended with a certain look on her face, before getting up from her crouched position and then looking around again to see if they’d arrived yet. She didn’t know if she was early, or she’d gotten late—all she did was get to Slateport as fast as she could manage.
The details of the job were cryptic to say the least, these were his final weeks here in the region of Hoenn so he had taken it upon himself to pick up some odd jobs so he could scrape together some money for equipment. Although he could speak to Scarlet, get some money from her he decided not to bother his sister with such petty things he would drag his own weight on this one the male was reading over the information on his phone that described the details of the mission. The coordinates to find the building, and a description to ease the task of having to find the building, with that the male closed his phone before stuffing it into his pockets looking over to his side he found himself focusing his crimson eyes upon his Xatu. The wise bird Pokemon stared at the trainer in silence waiting for the command to head out, giving the Pokemon a nod would be enough for it to understand the command the Xatu would suddenly begin to glow, its concentrated psychic energy that outlined its body began to reach out in thin tentacles of energy that soon outlined Bunji’s own body. Soon the two vanished in a flash of purple energy, soon after the duo reappeared a couple of silhouettes appeared suddenly where Izumi would be, when the purple energy faded it would reveal the neutral expression of a face she would know all too well, Bunji was equally as surprised when his eyes fell upon the familiar female.
Xatu observed the girl in silence he was able to pick up that this girls brain waves were somehow tied to Bunji’s making the wise bird all the more curious to see how this little reunion unfolded, in silence the Xatu watched from the side suddenly seeing a small Ralt rush over to Bunji’s side. The cold crimson eyes would soften as always at the sight of Momo, the Ralt hugged Bunji’s leg tugging at his pants as if wanting him to walk over towards Izumi to greet her, yet as strong as the man had become he knew that being within Izumi’s reach was to be within her kill range, a place he best avoid for now. Especially since he had no idea how she would react to his presence here, seeing that the male would not budge the Ralt’s seemed to pout fed up with how stubborn these two humans were acting, seeing this made the male show something that was rare nowadays for him a smile. Reaching down he would pet Momo on the top of her head with a gentle touch, ”Hello Momo” he said to the small Ralts with his typical smooth tone of voice. Looking up from the Ralts, the stunning crimsons would settle upon the girl with the striking amber eyes, ”Izumi” he said to her with a nod as a hello, looking over the rest of her team he took notice of the new addition a Meifoon.
The entire time Xatu observed in silence his keen eyes picking up the change in Bunji’s bran waves where are they were normally dull, and lacking any emotion at this moment they seemed a bit livelier if you will, so much so that it was hard for him to read his trainers emotions at this moment. Bunji had his crimsons settled upon Izumi’s features, ”I trust you know the details, we should head out. The place is not very far from here” he said to the girl speaking in a serious tone, and his face remaining as neutral as he could manage, despite the conflict of emotions inside of him.

While she was keeping the ‘mons busy while passing the time, she thought she felt a ripple of energy very near where she stood—and then looked around just in time to see that her companion—or rather, a very familiar face had decided to show up. So he’s coming along for the ride? She thought glumly, while watching Momo quickly dash over to where Bunji had appeared—after all, he was the one who technically caught her in the first place; and she had no right to argue as Momo nuzzled up against his legs; as she usually did whenever she was out and about. “So… we meet again,” she said as a greeting, trying to keep things amiable between them—what with the presence of another ‘mon that was leering behind Bunji’s back (its eyes were seemingly staring right into her soul), chaos could break out if she decided to cause a scene.
Not here, not now, calm down, Ralts is there, watching… she thought to herself quickly patting Asuka’s head once more, before stretching out her arms and then giving a slight yawn. “I need the practice, seeing the world and all. Lead the way, then,” she said, waving her hand in the general direction that led back out of Slateport City.
“Ralts,” she heard her companion say, and looked back to see that Momo had taken a stand and wasn’t going to move at all. Asuka and Kuma had apparently begun to walk; but not Momo. “What now?” she asked the feeling ‘mon, looking down at her before crouching once again in front of her.
“Ralts. Ralts, ralts!” she heard Momo say with insistence, nudging her towards Bunji’s direction. What the hell?! Was all she had time for before flicking her eyes in his general direction once more; and then looking him over once again. “What other tricks do you have up your sleeve,” she said, more to herself than to him, as she quickly scooped up Momo and then turned tail, before beginning the walk back out of Slateport.
The male with the crimson eyes had begun to lead the way to the general coordinates of where the building was, Xatu hovered right next to him though the two would stop walking when they heard the Ralts in reaction to his trainer stopping Xatu stopped as well, simply hovering over the ground yet he did not even bother to turn as Bunji did. Lucky for Izumi he had missed the time that the girl had been looking him over, instead he only watched as she scooped Momo up, disregarding the incident the male turned from the girl continuing to lead the way with a steady pace, Xatu then continued to hover forward as well. Bunji was focused on the mission they had been given, well he was trying his best to focus on it he felt himself pondering things inside of his mind he still felt it a slight attraction to Izumi, despite the time they spent apart the feelings had never truly faded, perhaps because he vanished so abruptly without ever truly saying goodbye? Then again he did give her his final goodbye a few days ago when he bumped into her in Lavaridge, yet that same day he kissed her, the male would sigh internally wishing there was way he could shut down all these irritating emotions that seemed to stir whenever he was close to a woman he had been remotely attached to. He was not the only one who was troubled Xatu picked up on the disturbances in Bunji’s waves, he could tell that the longer they remained near this woman the more unstable they seemed to become, a cause for concern? The Xatu did not think so, he dismissed it as petty Human imperfection.
It bounced around in his head the decision to talk to Izumi again, there was no harm in small talk, right? The male would subtly glance back over his shoulder trying to make it seem as if he was just making sure she was following when in reality he wished to gaze upon her features once more, the one he had always liked about Izumi was her amber eyes he had always found them to be her most attractive trait, despite him telling her many times when they were dating she never seemed to accept the compliment. Turning away before he fully lost himself in his gazing, he would slow his walk until he was walking at the same pace at Izumi, and someone seemed to take immediate notice of Bunji’s much closer presence Momo seemed to beam with happiness as she saw Bunji lingering close by now, “Ralts!” she exclaimed excitedly flailing in Izumi’s arms. Bunji’s eyes would widen as he watched the Momo flail, but only because it seemed to slip, well almost slip from her arms reacting quickly Bunji stepped forward his left arm attempting to scoop the Momo so it did not fall! In the process his body would bump into Izumi reacting to that his right arm wrapped around her waist instinctively, needless to say the male ended up embracing Izumi in his arms, holding her weight so she did not fall….
As a result? He was standing dangerously close to her, their noses practically touching, for the first time in a long time the cold hearted male felt his heart race, and his crimson’s widen with surprise he was so close to her he thought of pulling away but why didn’t he? He stood there holding the girl, Momo rested snuggly in the arms of her trainer snickering to herself silently, had she pretended to almost fall hoping this would happen? Finally breaking from the awkward moment that lasted too long for comfort Bunji stepped back, clearing his throat, and hiding his blush with his gloved hand ”Erm…Uh…are you alright Azi?” he asked her in a serious tone trying to play off his embarrassment yet he failed to realize he had called her by the nickname he himself had given her so long ago when they first started dating.

If Izumi was a mind-reader, then she would have probably seen what her Ralts, Momo, was thinking about. Unfortunately, she was not in possession of any kind of psychic power, and could only second-guess what was going on in the mind of her ‘mon when she suddenly saw that Momo was flailing happily—almost as if she was a child…? She was about to shush the flailing ‘mon when all hell broke loose—because apparently Momo had “reasons” almost flying out of her hands; and then she was the one who ended up in Bunji’s arms! Their faces were dangerously close; it was like that time back in Lavaridge when he’d bid her “goodbye”… well this isn’t goodbye, we’re apparently going to take on this mission together, so what to do? Went through her mind—and in that few seconds she could feel her own face heat up, and all the blood was seemingly rushing to her ears, making them turn a shade of red so bright.
After another few moments of awkward silence, she watched as he picked himself up and then hid his face—and she then turned around to slightly position herself at an angle, because she was also blushing at that point! “Well, if you call Momo almost tripping out of my hands, and you catching her alright, then I guess I’m fine…” she trailed off, before turning around completely since her face was beginning to burn this shade of red only he’d seen once—when she’d gotten her first kiss from him, a long time ago! In the back of her Ralts’ mind, however…
I wonder what’s driving Momo to bring us back together… she continued as she looked down at the passenger in her arms, and then Momo seemingly looked back up at her with an innocent look on her face. “Ralts?” it asked her questioningly, before she shrugged and then turned to face him again. Kuma and Asuka had taken to chasing each other around the general area, and it appeared that Kuma was winning—yet the other two ‘mons had also come to a stop, to watch what was going on with their mistress and her companion.
“Mien, mienfoo?”
“Cubchoo… cub, cubchoo…”
It was as if the ‘mons were conversing in their own language, and they were liking the sudden turn of events, when Izumi suddenly cut off all of them with, “Come on, let’s get going,” before picking up the pace and then walking forward. The Cubchoo and Mienfoo nearly stumbled over themselves, in order to keep up with their mistress, yet asuka looked back towards the taller figure (Bunji) and then just stared at him, before saying, “Mien, mienfoo?” as if inquiring if he would be catching up to her.
An awkward moment indeed but either way he was glad it was over when it was, the girl seemed to take the initiative taking the lead as she walked off with Ralts in her arms, the small Pokemon seemed to smirk to itself in silence. All the while Bunji would regain his composure with a heavy sigh the male would begin to march forward following the girl, Xatu was already by his side silently floating at a pace so that he was next to Bunji, the entire time his eyes observed everything around him focusing mainly on the two humans. Their brain wave seemed to continue to shift in a very random manner so much so that it was making the Pokemon dizzy, so he chose to focus on something else maybe that way the nauseous feeling that had overcome him would go away. Bunji seemed to be unable to control his impulses, before Xatu knew it his trainer was already at the girl’s side again this time he was not as close, so Momo seemed to not overreact she simply clung to Izumi watching Bunji with a smile on her small features. ”So now that you have finally decided to set out to explore the region, are you going to take the gym challenge in Hoenn?” he asked her, keeping his eyes from Izumi as much as he hated to admit it the girl had a very natural glare about her eyes, despite their beauty those amber eyes could kill with a look if she wanted to, so with that Bunji looked ahead.
He knew little of Izumi’s current ambitions all he knew was that when they were younger the two were going to set out to explore Hoenn as a duet, yet now things had changed oh how everything had changed so much the two who once planned to work together, and explore together, had ended up taking very separate paths. Deep down Bunji knew this was his own fault, he had left he was the one to abandon Izumi yet as much as he hated himself for it, he felt it was of the best maybe there was a reason why he left, there was a reason why they did not set out together. Regardless what happened already came to pass, and he could not change the past but either way Izumi was new to the world as headstrong as she was the girl had never been anywhere outside of Lavaridge unlike him who stepped so far as to go to Kanto, and has seen as far as Unova…she is still a green horn to this vast world. It was for this reason that despite his personal quest for revenge, he knew he had to do his part to protect Izumi, and to make sure she was strong enough to face the cruel world that awaited her an internal sigh would escape Bunji. No matter how hard he tried to play the cold bastard card, always in some way someone came along his path that would force what fragments of humanity remained in him to burn a little brighter, like Yumi….and like Ku—he was suddenly cut off from his thoughts when he looked up noticing the looming building in the distance.
Bunji stopped walking raising his right arm to stop Izumi from walking, ”Xatu” his tone spoke with a more serious tone, and his demeanor seemed to change for a darker one, this was no longer a walk in the park it was a mission that needed to be completed, if the cryptic details of the mission were not enough to put him on edge the seemingly abandoned building topped it all. No time was wasted Xatu was already flying overhead moving at a steady pace as he ascended further up, until becoming nothing more but a black smear up in the skies. Buni lowered his arm waiting in silence, then in front of them a wave of purple energy revealed the Xatu once more, the Pokemon raised its right wing pointing off to the side, Bunji nodded ”Take the skies”he ordered with that Xatu spread its wings to full span then flapped once, pushing itself off the ground before it began to levitate up higher, and higher. Turning to Izumi the male would motion for her to follow, he rushed off to the side where Xatu pointed jumping over some bushes, and leading the way circling around the building itself, between the gaps of the trees he could see the building, after a while of moving about Bunji stops when he notices a back door, better to enter through the back than the front door after all, standing next to a tree he turned to face Izumi. ”It’d be best if they are in their Pokeballs, we can move faster, and let them out if we need them” he said to the girl waiting for her to prepare for them to move out.

“Well, it’s better to get the one from here first out of the way, before eventually going out there,” she began, waving a hand to the sky for emphasis. “Maybe get all the badges, gain more experience, travel around all the regions, then who knows? I’m not even sure if I should go and challenge the Elite Four over here. Just… get all the badges first, that’s my top priority Also, mum’s not too happy about your returning…” she added in an off-hand manner, before letting Momo back down on the ground—and then she was suddenly forced to come to a halt as she had indirectly walked into his outstretched hand, as if stopping her from going any further. “What the…?” she began, before watching as his own companion took to the skies, and in a matter of seconds, was just a little speck in the distance. “Well, okay,” was all se had time for, before quickly following him; gesturing towards her motley crew to do the same.
She looked over her shoulder as she was cutting across the terrain he’d taken—was it some kind of shortcut?—before coming to another halt, and seeing that they’d taken a circuitous route to the back of the structure—and it was at this point she thought she could hear some sort of moaning, and wailing coming from the structure. “Is that…” she began, before quickly taking out the three Pokeballs, and then bowing hurriedly to the three ‘mons that had finally caught up with her. “Come on guys, it’ll be quick. I’ll call you when needed,” she apologized, before summoning back Momo, Kuma and Asuka back into their respective temporary residences, and then dropping them down the inside pocket of her jacket.
“What… what kind of man would do such a thing…” she trailed off, aghast at the sounds that were emanating from where they stood—they were near the back door, but… can they be saved? It hurts… she thought, quickly looking at the looming building, before deciding to steel herself for what waited within, should they choose to break in from their current location. “Let’s go,” she said, quickly taking out something from her other pocket and attempting to tie her hair back into a ponytail.
Reaching the door the man would turn back to Izumi, seeing as she was tying her hair into a ponytail he would give her a nod his gloved hand reaching for the knob, he too could hear it the cries that echoed from the building he already had an idea of what awaited them inside, turning the knob the male would push the door open stepping in first his eyes quickly scanning the area for any hostiles. To his surprise the place was practically empty the male would hold the door for the girl a heavy sigh escaping him once the door was shut behind them, what welcomed them was the echoing sound of multiple Pokemon crying out to be set free. His crimson eyes usually cold, and calculated would soften from pity, a pity that felt for the pain these caged Pokemon were feeling, ”I understand now” he said suddenly his voice would break the silence, ”….the details were so cryptic they practically sent whoever took this job in the dark, blind….because whoever set this job up knows this place is here, there’s no choice…it’s an absolute order we have to kill them” he would say the last words with a heavy regret carrying them along to the girl’s ears. He wanted to automatically blame whoever put this job up for this, but he had no way of knowing if said employer was responsible for this place existing or just someone who happened upon such a gruesome discovery, and was doing their best to help these Pokemon out. Whichever it was Bunji could not be sure, all he knew was that unfortunately at this moment he had to deal with this situation at hand, yet he was not alone Izumi was with him she was his partner on this her decision was just as important as his.
As much as he wanted to get rid of this place, he wanted to free them from their pain he would not do it quite yet looking over to a nearby table he noticed some half eaten food, and some documents the man walked over towards said table his crimson eyes inspecting the contents of the documents one by one. ”….whoever abandoned this place did so in a very sloppy manner…” he said to Izumi, the man tossed the useless documents out, and rolled up the useful once stuffing them under his long cloak turning to face the girl he walked over towards her stopping at her side. ”How ironic, a few thugs from Team Aqua run this place, I have the files…I have someone I can send them to, I will find out information, and get their locations. I will make sure they pay for this…as for you, don’t get involved nay further Izumi, this isn’t even a job you should be a part of. This goes too far into the deep end…” he said to the girl as he adjusted his cloak. The male could see them the Pokemon crying out from their cages in pain, there was nothing they could do he turned facing away from them a hand reached for Izumi’s arm grabbing hold of it firmly, his stunning crimson’s would be focused directly on her ”Don’t look at them, let’s just go outside…I will deal with this…” he said to her releasing her arm as he began to walk for the door.
Once outside Bunji would wait for Izumi, leading her away he made distance between the duet, and the building their cries still echoed out from the build the male would sigh pulling two Pokeballs from his waist ”If you don’t want to look I understand” he said before opening the two spheres, in a dazzling display of light two glowing silhouettes emerged. One a mighty Nidoking that roared with pride, and the other a titanic Steelix that towered over the crowd, the two glared at the building then looked over their shoulders at Bunji awaiting the order, ”Destroy” he ordered with that simple command the two charged into action Steelix seemed to take the lead opening its mouth wide the Pokemon would gather particles of energy that eventually massed into a glowing yellow sphere of energy that was fired in the form of a concentrated beam of pure energy, the beam was dragged across the surface of the building splitting the foundation of the building yet at the same time causing a series of explosions surely from the gas containers in the building that were used to keep the place running. The flames roared with a wild blaze as they began to spread across the newfound rubble, Nidoking would step upon the stage next with a bright golden glow around its body the Nidoking roared as loud as it could jumping up then coming down with both feet stomping the ground. The energy was released onto the Earth, creating series of bone breaking pillars to rise from the Earth further tearing into what remained of the building, and adding to the chaotic destruction. The hart wrenching cries of those few Pokemon who did not die out instantly filled the air, the man closed his eyes seemingly in regret at what he had just done.
The two Pokemon would fall silent turning to face their trainer, and they too seemed filled with regret their eyes swelled with it, the man opened his eyes once the cries were finally silent he stared at the ground in silence not saying a word…

Once she’d done her hair (as it was now secure in what was her best attempt at a ponytail) she then followed him as quickly, and as silently as she could manage; before the door swung shut behind her—she was about ready to look around for a light source, but the open windows at the top of the seemingly abandoned warehouse filtered down and offered enough illumination—and then it felt like her heart would just stop; it was due to all of the echoing cries she could now audibly hear from within. Row, upon row, upon row of cages were stacked from the floor up; and all she could do was to follow him deeper inside, trying to shut out the wailing noises that were emanating from all the cages.
Don’t look at them, don’t look at them… she willed herself, averting her gaze to a point on the floor instead; and listening as he talked about what little information he knew. “I originally thought we were going to set them free, but… this is too much, to be honest…” she said, unable to force herself to look up—though she heard the sound of rustling paper; before she heard his voice go off in the opposite direction—back towards the door. She then followed, keeping her eyes glued to the floor, the wailing chorus seemingly increasing in pitch and volume, before the metal footing underneath her turned into uneven, yet solid ground. She then blinked several times, before squinting upwards again towards the sky—and then saw two more ‘mons appear—one of them literally towered over the two of them, and the other one was just as tall as he was.
“Why do you take me for a baby…” she said more to herself, watching in silence at the apparent destruction that had unfolded right before her very eyes; and once the entire area was in ruins, she had only this to say, “You… you left no survivors?” while looking at the smoldering wreckage around the area—yet she could tell that there was regret on his face (at least, that’s what it was according to her) since he’d directed his gaze to the ground instead of looking at the destruction that he’d inadvertently caused. After a few more moments of silence, she finally spoke up, “C’mon, let’s get out of here…” and was secretly glad that her three ‘mons were not around to have seen the madness she’d witnessed just a few moments ago.
