So Izumi here hadn’t made upher mind completely yet; but she really wanted to get out of Lavaridge and seethe entire expanse that Hoenn had to offer. She was only familiar with Lilycove and the quaint little mountain village which she called home—it was her adventurous streak burning within her again—when she realized that she was running out of time for the “grand shenanigans” to begin. As of the moment, she still hadn’t made up her mind yet, so she was outside the family’s café, taking a little break from work (as there were no other customers inside anyways) and was seated on one of the outside chairs, feeling the heated air on her skin and face. “Pff, things are too quiet…” she hissed to herself as she proceeded to fix her hair, picking up the black hair scrunchie that she had been tussling with since earlier in the day and trying to fix her hair back into that ponytail that she’d seen her mother do endless times in the past.
So nothing interesting going on… again… may as well take a dip in the Hot Springs while I’m at it… she thought as she continued to tussle with her hair, not realizing that the rest of her day would turn out to be very interesting on many levels. Sighing as she gave up on the struggle that was tying her hair, she then sank onto the table’s surface, not realizing that one of her own ‘mons; that adorable Ralts that went by the name Momo, had seemingly hopped out of the Pokeball where she usually rested.
“R-ralts?” she heard from somewhere near her right side; looking down, she saw that her companion was out and about again, tugging at the hem of her jeans like it always did. She then huffed once more and looked down, before reaching behind her companion’s head as if to reassure, “Well, Momo… you know…” she began, before that first unsure sentence faded into silence, and she ended up looking at Momo’s face instead.
Memories, what powerful things they were regardless of how hard one tried to forget them, to push them aside it was almost impossible to completely bury them forever eventually something triggered them, and forced once forgotten thoughts to emerge from the darkness taking hold of the soul with a vice like grip. Yet this time around what had triggered the memories within this particular being, had been an unfortunate series of events in his attempt to kill off his old self, the young man with the crimson eyes had been afflicted with dreams of old, and better times. Truly it was something he would never understand, nor would be try to, all he would do is satisfy what fragment of his old self wished to return here to a place he had long since abandoned years ago when he made the decision to depart from these lands. The wall of heat welcomed him to Lavaridge as he stepped into the entrance of the town, the air here was heavy with not just heat but countless memories that continued to flood into his mind just as his long cape like cloak danced in the wind, so did the flesh of memories in his head. A moment of silence came about when the winds settled, and he allowed them to play out the memories…
A growl would break him from his trance causing the red haired male to glance over at his companion the hulking Nidoking gave his trainer a look of concern, but was soon reassured when the confused gaze of Bunji was soon replaced by the more familiar cold set of eyes he now carried. ”We have returned…” he whispered, those crimsons of his now focused upon the town looking down the street taking in the sights, with a silent nod Nidoking stared off as well, ”Return” Bunji said aiming the respective Pokeball to the over sized Nioking soon its body absorbed into said sphere. This was a journey Bunji had to take by himself, with every step he felt a sense of nostalgia overtake him every building here, every place held a memory for him down from the moment he first met the fiery girl, to the moment he ventured into the wilds in search of a suitable gift for her…this is when he remembered the Ralts, the one he had searched for long, and hard until he found the perfect one for her. A very brief smile spread across his face, as if the fragments of his former self deep within felt a sense of satisfaction from being here, in the town he once called home, ”Ralts” the voice rang into his ears, ripping the male from his memories.
Looking down with his cold eyes he would settle them upon a small Pokemon that tugged at the end of his long cloak, ”Ralts!” the Pokemon seemed to call out with cheer in its tone, it tugged more as if wanting Bunji to follow. Releasing him it began to move away, the male did not move from his standing position instead his eyes followed the small Pokemon, then to his surprise they settled upon an individual whom Bunji had not seen in years. The male’s heart skipped a beat, and for this moment his cold eyes that usually gazed at the world with such a dull radiance…now widened with surprise, and swelled with shock.

She ended up staring at an invisible point somewhere in the distance; and had lost track of time until she thought she heard a voice… a voice from the darkest corners of the back of her mind. Were her ears playing tricks on her? Looking up from the slump she’d placed herself in, she then followed Momo’s gaze… where had it gone?! She then shot upright, looking around, where could her companion have gone?! “Momo? Momo?!” she began calling out, looking around frantically, until she saw where it had gone off to—her gaze started from where Momo stood; she’d never looked this happy—following the gaze upward at the long shadow it had cast…
“…”
As if in slow motion, she moved forward, shaking her head, trying to see if she was dreaming; but the pleased hum of her ‘mon confirmed she wasn’t… “Momo… get behind me, now,” was all she had time to say, before slamming the tray down on another unoccupied table and rolling up the sleeves of her “uniform”. Once she’d done that, she was about to say what was on her mind, and it involved endless amounts of colorful profanities—but she knew that Ralts was the Feeling Pokemon, so instead of letting her mouth do the talking, she pitched her right hand back as far as she could—for anger had clouded her eyes at this point—and then brought that same hand down as fast as she could manage…
SLAP!
She felt her right hand smack the young man’s face standing in front of her field of vision; she knew exactly who this was, but refused to comment, for she knew she’d have nothing but acidic words to let fly.
“How… how dare you show your face again after all this time,” she said after what felt like another eternal silence, her words carefully measured, but there was that tinge of rage in them.
He was gripped by the strong sense of awe, and surprise that had overcome him he could not believe what he was seeing although common sense should dictate that the girl would still be here, but he still found it to be a shock as they would say a blast from the past. Though soon he would be literally smacked from his dream like state, when he felt the sharp sting of the accelerated palm connect with his unprotected cheek the resulting smack that echoed from the connected slap was enough to draw the attention of a few curios eyes. Bunji had yet to recover from the smack, yet he did not overreact instead he stood there in cold silence his eyes having been forced away from the features of the familiar female, now focused upon the distance building they were forced to gaze at, the sting pulsed on his cheek he was certain he had her hand print there. Yet, he slowly turned to settle his eyes upon her no longer were they filled with shock or awe…they had returned to the newly found gaze he had adopted since his ordeals in Kanto, and his time spent with his adoptive sister. The crimson’s this girl may have remembered, the once filled with warmth, and love stared back into her fury filled eyes with nothing more but a dull gaze one void of any readable emotion except for deep emptiness.
As if he had rammed him back into the shadows the old Bunji, the fragmented one that had felt a sense of joy however minuscule when he settled his eyes upon Izumi, was now gone once again lost in the shroud that had long since overwhelmed Bunji’s former self. ”You are far from satisfied…if you wish to hit me again, if you truly believe that it will take away what gripping pain I bring about, then by all means hit me to your heart’s content” he would speak to her in a dry tone, only to walk passed her soon after finishing his bit the male had intentions to walk away from Izumi, he had no intention to stay here, and bicker of mistakes from their youthful past. Yet he would be stopped by a rebellious Ralts, quite literally he halted his march when he saw the small Pokemon standing in his way ”Ralts!” it called out to him, as if trying to get a message across. Though actions spoke louder than words, the male would understand loud, and clear ”….So be it” he said in a brief moment of realization, he was a cold hearted bastard these days, but he was not an unfair one he knew what he had done to Azi…Izumi…so long ago had been wrong, he had betrayed the love she had given him, for his own selfish ideals. It was only right he gave her the explanation she deserved, what she did from there, well that was her own path to follow not his…
”Memories” he said suddenly to the enraged girl, ”….in the process of ridding myself of the man I once was, I was plagued with memories of this town…fond memories that try as I may, I cannot let them go. Memories of you, of us…of my time here…is it harsh of me to be letting them go? Then again is it truly ever possible to let go of memories?” he said to the girl both questions being rhetorical of course. ”I believed coming here would allow me to put my memories to rest, where life is taking me now…such memories, will only serve to get me killed” he explained to her, his tone remained the same throughout simply flat, and dull yet he was quick to turn full body to face Izumi once more. ”Your hatred is understandable, you despise me, and it is best this way…you cannot miss that which you despise” he said to the girl, no smile, not like the one he used to give her when he would joke around this truly was a different man from the one she once called her boyfriend.
Having returned to the side of her trainer, Momo the Ralts clung lightly to her jeans …Ralts…” this time the tone was a sadder one, Momo was much more keen to emotions than most, perhaps Momo could feel the emotions that were coming from Bunji or to say it better the emptiness coming from the young man she once knew.

“…three years. Three. Fu—“ she began, before amending her statement, taking a deep breath in the process. “…I waited three years for you to show up! Have you forgotten? We were supposed to go on our journey around Hoenn together! If Momo could talk she’d tell you what happened all that time! Do you think I’ve recovered from what you did…?!” she said in one go, staring at him as hard as she could. Her left hand was itching to make that blooming hand mark on his face a pair, yet she resisted the urge and balled her hands into fists instead, if but a sign to control her rage. “You have no idea how upset Momo was during that time. You… you have no idea how upset I was during that time I waited,” she said, unable to control that rage, instead dissolving into pure sadness at that point. Her eyes were still cold, yet the dam she was holding back finally burst out, and tears, even more tears from the last time she’d cried her eyes out, began to pour.
“The whole of Lavaridge was looking for you, didn’t you know?! The folks over at the Herbal, the grannies over at the Hot Spring, hell, even old Cookie was worried about you,” she said, the last she’d mentioned, the locals’ nickname for the famed vendor who sold the Lava Cookies up on the mountain outside town. The tears were coming down in full force now—little did they realize that there was a slowly gathering crowd; it was as if the entire town had been holding their breath, waiting for this moment. “They wanted to see us both off on our journey into the world, yet instead they saw me, me running throughout town, going into every nook and cranny, screaming your name, looking for any sign of you… they’d even helped me look, and we even tore up and down the mountain, fearing you’d met an accident!”
Momo could only look on in confusion, as she was located right between the two at this point, and was shivering—Izumi knew that the more she got upset, the sadder Momo would become as a result. “R-ralts…” it said after that long silence, pulling on the hem of her jeans once again, and then trying to wave its tiny arms around.
“D-don’t worry. I’m fine… I’m fine…” she heard her Trainer say, but the emotions rolling off of her were too much, and this also caused her other companion, the Cubchoo named Kuma, to appear and then stare at the other person that his Trainer was talking to.
“Choo?” she heard Kuma say, before sniffling—the hot weather of Lavaridge always unsettled Kuma, and today was one of those days—its running trail of leaking snot was looking more watery than normal. “C-choo,” Kuma added, looking at the red-haired individual, as if sizing him up. If the Pokemon could talk to each other, they would be torn between shock and distress—but that was more on Momo’s, than Kuma’s part. Izumi didn’t realize that Momo, on her own strength, was trying to patch the two back up again—first by pulling on her owner’s jeans, before flitting over and attempting to tug at the hem of Bunji’s apparent cloak. “R-ralts,” it said, at first wavering, before a tone of conviction overtook it. “Ralts. Ralts!” the tone becoming more insistent at this point, trying to pull Bunji back towards her master.
“Choo. Choo, Cub-cubchoo!” Kuma tried to communicate, before trundling over and gently attempting to shove Izumi forward. “Choo, choo!”
“W-what, Ku…? Wha—hey!” she could only shout before she tumbled, after the persistent pushing from Kuma. For such small figures, they’re really shovy… she thought as she felt her feet tumble forward, before eventually feeling the hem of her jeans being tugged again, in a reassuring manner. “Ralts.” She heard Momo say, as if burning with passion; would the two have a “warm reunion”?
“You idiot… you stupid, stupid idiot,” was all Izumi had to say in his direction before hammering his shoulder with her balled up fist, the dam of tears still pouring out of her. “You…idiot…” she continued, her voice muffled at that point in time.
The words were heavy, each one hit him like a brick for each one was carried by a tone that was stained with the pain this girl had bottled up inside for so long, three years to be exact it was obvious he had hurt her all those years ago, yet the male could not help but remain neutral. He had explained why he was here because that was the question he had been given, but it would seem Izumi wanted more of an explanation from him he was prepared to give her just that in fact he was ready to cut her off. Then something happened stopping him in his tracks try as he may he was unable to stop it, when he saw her burst into tears the feeling that washed over his being it was something he had not experienced or felt…well since the day he actually abandoned her the hand that was raised to cut her off soon lowered itself to his side. Bunji listened in silence to the girls words, he did not move an inch despite the strong urge pulling at him to run up to her, and embrace her to tell her everything was alright he was here to keep his promise! Yet to do such, would be a lie, as unfortunate as that was he was not here for those reasons, he was here to let go of this past but such was proving to be a task too great for him to accomplish.
”It’s heavy” he thought to himself referring to the sense of guilt that seemed to hang from his very being, it was so great that he was unable to look Izumi in the eyes any more like a coward he lowered his crimsons to the ground simply staring at the ground itself in silence, he seemed so out of it he failed to realize when Momo was tugging at his cloak again. Yet he would not linger in his guilt ridden thoughts for long, before he knew it Izumi’s voice rang into his ears once more but this time it was not a raging boom of words instead it was just her, lightly insulting him with a more tame tone. The hammer fist to the shoulders were allowed, as she pummeled him with her fist he raised his gaze focusing the now soft crimsons on her tear filled face. He could feel it, yet he could not understand it he had grown so detached from himself over these passed weeks that he had failed to keep in touch with this side of himself, the side who apparently missed this girl. It was then that Bunji went into autopilot so to speak, both hands shot up gently cupping the girls face, his cold palms pressing against her warm cheeks he wiped the tears away from her eyes best he could, and his crimsons now filled with actual emotion gave the girl a rare gentle gaze.
For a moment of silence Bunji’s eyes locked with her beautiful ambers another thing about her he had missed, how beautiful she was, ”To say I am sorry…seems dull, and insignificant…I know I can never take back what I did to you, and I am aware you may never forgive me…but in the end I want you to know, that I never forgot about you…and for a long time I hated myself for what I did. In fact, I still do” his words were whispered to her in a caring tone, no longer did he address her coldly as he had when he first arrived speaking of such grim things such his inevitable death. Instead for this moment he was showing her the Bunji that she knew, the Bunji she would remember, with both hands on her face Bunji leaned in the crowd seemed to gasp as the male came in close to the girl it seemed as if he was going to kiss her! Yet at the very last minute he pulled her head in towards his shoulder embracing Izumi in his arms, the male held her close for the first time in three years he embraced her lovingly just as he had done many times before all those years ago.
This time it was different though, as unfortunate as it was Bunji had not been joking when he spoke of his own demise, this could very well be the last time he ever spoke to her again it was this thought that seemed to choke the male up for reasons he could yet to understand. All he knew was that deep down he felt good, hugging her the feeling that washed over him at this moment made him feel something he had believed to have lost the night Kooga betrayed him, his humanity. ”I missed you Azi” the words escaped him in a whisper meant only for her ears, and no one else.

“Isn’t it a bit late to show some—“ she began, before his face loomed in dangerously close to where she stood, stuck at five feet four inches tall—and it wasn’t an exaggeration to say that her face was flushed pink at that moment. But instead of meeting him full-on in a kiss, he threw his head onto her shoulder at the last moment; which made half the gathering crowd hiss in dismay! Little did Izumi (and Bunji) know that there was an apparent “betting pool” going on; and half had staked some spare change on the fact that Lavaridge’s so-called “Prodigal Son” wouldn’t return; while the other half did—and the betting then also branched out into other avenues; but as of the moment they two knew nothing of this. Seeing that some of the old grannies were leering at her from her point of view, giving her suggestive winking as well as shushing poses, she then whispered, “Why don’t you come inside so we can talk in… private,” she muttered, noticing that the crowd was swelling in number—some of the trainers who hung out at the local Gym had come out to see the ruckus as well.
“Ralts.”
“Choo!”
Her two ‘mons acted like “ushers”, moving their master (and guest) out and away from the prying eyes of the local people; and soon enough they were inside the café, seated t one of the corner booths. “What can I… oh screw this, I’ll get your usual,” she said, heading off into the kitchen, leaving him with the two ‘mons— Kuma had somehow managed to clamber atop the table, while Momo was seated near Bunji’s side, tugging at the sleeves of his jacket, looking a him inquisitively.
“Ralts?” it asked him, curious at his… garish and outlandish attire, wondering where it had come from. Kuma was still rolling across the table, and since the interior of the café was cool, he was soon attempting to do some snot-juggling tricks when she arrived back with a tray, only pausing to roll her eyes as she set the tray down to one side and gently shooed Kuma off the table, before presenting him with the usual order he’d make. She then realized that everyone was pressing their noses (or faces) on to the glass, so she quickly drew all the shutters down, and flipped the sign from “Open” to “Closed” in the meantime—as this was going to be a very long day.
“So,” she began, taking the seat across from his and crossing her arms while she poked at the platter of fries, “Where did you go and what the hell were you up to?”
Guess it’s time to start the “interrogation”… I’m not getting anywhere if I don’t start asking the questions… she thought, huffing for a moment before proceeding to feed Kuma some of the salted treats.
Releasing her from the embrace the male began to wonder if maybe he had gone too far with hugging her. Whatever the case there was no time to linger on it, before long the girl suggested the two went inside to talk, at first he was hesitant but then he too had taken notice of the crowd that had gathered like looming Fearows they flocked around them, their curious eyes staring at the duo. Once he was inside Bunji took a seat on the table watching as the girl walk on to the back kitchen, the male waited in silence not a word coming from him although he was aware of the crowd watching from the glass, he ignored them. In his own mind he was shrouded with many troubles that were serving only to bring him down further, yet he knew that he had to move passed these he had to raise himself up so that he could meet this challenge so that he could move on, the new him needed to be in full control. It was then that he felt a tug at his sleeve blinking for a moment Bunji rested his eyes on the snot playing Pokemon, but then took them from it when he rested them on the familiar Momo. The questioning tone in which she addressed him caused the red head to give her only a soft smile in response, reaching down to pet her head gently ”In due time” he whispered to her, just then when he was removing his hand from her head he would see as Izumi arrived setting down the usual platter he would consume.
It was almost as if the girl was barraging him with things that would bring about memories from the deepest recess of his mind, yet he would not help but reach down for one of the fries it was a platter the two would share many times over, the fries here at this particular restaurant were quite unique. He always told her it was the special seasoning, taking a bite from the fry Bunji looked up at her just as she asked her question, the man had to admit he expected this question to come yet he was unsure as to how to answer. So he figured it be best to just be honest, ”I wandered from Hoenn to Kanto, once there I found myself mixed up with the wrong people, it ended up with me being arrested in Fuschia City in Kanto, I spent two years in prison. There I met a man named Kooga Kingseye I was different then arrogant, and wanted power…he shared the same ideals as me, so…I struck a deal we would watch each other’s back, and make it to the top together…when we were both out we joined the Rockets where we worked for a while as team” the male paused for a moment knowing this was all new information for Izumi allowing her to absorb it all. ”….I was a mess, hitting on every woman that moved, I was a lost soul…I took my missions for granted, in the end Kooga was ordered to teach me a lesson, needless to say the man I was considered a brother in arms beat me near to death, put me in a three day long coma, and he also killed one of my Pokemon” he explained the story by this time his hands balled into white knuckle fists.
Bunji would feel it the festering rage inside of him, his gaze had lowered from Izumi those crimsons of his shadowed by the loose bangs of red hair that cascade down from his head, ”…I awoke in the hospital, on the fourth day I fled here to Hoenn. I spent most of my days in the wilderness of the Island town of Dewford, then I was found by a woman named Scarlet….I have been spending time with her, but he is more of an adoptive sister than anything else…in the end Azi…I have become an empty vessel, a grudge filled monster that wants only to find the revenge I crave, I am no good for you anymore or anyone…my end is simple I will die alone, and I would prefer it if you continue to despise me, easier to forger of something you hate” he said to the girl, wanting to push himself up from the table but resisted either way. ”…it is an unfortunate truth, but my truth nonetheless” he said to the girl having laid out who he now was to her, hoping she would understand although known Izumi she may just react with rage, and insults, he sat there in silence now feeling better that he could at least open up about this to someone, their history made him feel a bit more comfortable around Izumi than he would around most. Though she was not the only one hearing this tale, standing at her side once more Momo stared at Bunji, a light sniffle escaping her gently she embraced Izumi’s leg her face burying into it as if to hide the tears that were escaping her eyes. ”Ralts…” she muttered in a muffled voice, continuing to sob into Izumi’s leg.

She could only stare and listen as he basically poured out the entire story; much as she wanted to rage on him for doing something so very irresponsible (not to mention stupid) she held her tongue—before realizing that Momo was apparently bawling on her jeans. After what felt like another moment of silence (wherein more fries disappeared from the plate) she then gave him another searching, piercing look, before finally saying this; “You are one crazy man, you know that? Getting messed up with Team Rocket… wait a second I thought Rocket was all but disbanded?” she asked, backtracking just a bit due to the sudden information overload that was presented to her. Reaching down to where Momo currently clung (ad it was apparent that she was still sniffling) she then purred in a softer voice, “Shh, don’t cry… it’s okay now, no more crying, okay?” before reaching back up and giving it some of the greens that she’d brought out for herself.
“Choo? Choo!” she heard Kuma from atop the table, and she looked up in time to see it bat Bunji’s arm with its… snot trail. “Oh, gross,” she said, before chuckling, and then bursting out into laughter;if just for a bit. “So… what are you going to do now?” she asked once she’d gotten over her laughing fit. “Are you still going to stay here in Hoenn or are you going to run away all over again?” she continued, her voice getting just a bit edgy at the last statement. “You know you’re going to need someone to keep your head straight…” she trailed off.
His piece was done he stared at the girl as she stuffed the fries into her mouth in silence he waited for her to say something half expecting a harsh lecture from her yet instead he received a question, however before she could continue he noticed her tend to Ralts which cut Izumi off from her question it was then that Bunji saw the Cubchoo come at him, swinging its snot at his arm. Bunji’s eyes widened with surprise as he saw the trail of snot spread across the sleeve of his jacket, he eyed the snot then the Cubchoo the crimsons narrowed for a moment before he let out a sigh reaching for a napkin he dabbed off the snot best he could, and regardless some residue was left. Looking at the girl after balling up the napkin, ”No, Team Rocket operates under the cloak of secrecy now, a more subtle approach they are led by a man named Murdoc. I worked for them for at least three years or so, regardless it does not matter what they are, or what they were my goal is set” he paused setting the napkin down, then standing from the table he walked over to Momo. Kneeling the male reached for the Ralt, petting her gently the small Pokemon turned still sniffling before rushing over to the man’s arms, giving him the tightest embrace she could, Bunji knew what was going on in Ralt’s head it was perhaps the same outcome that wild Xatu had shown him when he touched it.
”As for your other question….” again a pause this time he rose up from his kneeling position, cradling Momo in his arms his right arm cradled her weight, while the left hand gently petted the Ralt’s head the small Pokemon buried her face into Bunji’s chest clinging to the fabric of his black cloak. ”….I will leave Hoenn, and die” he said simply his tone lacking any sense of urgency or concern for his own safety, ”I came to Hoenn to train, Scarlet Knight remember that name, she is my adopted sister she trained me, both Pokemon, and myself have become stronger…my goal is singular in its purpose Izumi, the destruction of Team Rocket. I know you don’t want to hear this…but it is how it must be, my end is set in stone so I have to do as much work as possible” he said before approaching Izumi. Kneeling in front of her, he placed Momo onto her arms waiting for the girl to take her, this was goodbye again, ”The last time, I didn’t get to say goodbye the right way. At least this time, I get to gaze into your beautiful amber eyes before I leave…I won’t lie, I missed you, and if I could I would’ve ran back here for you…but unfortunately thing did not turn out that way. For this I am sorry Izumi….” suddenly his hands reached cupping her cheeks gently, the males thumbs caressed her face gingerly.
”Find someone better, move on….this is goodbye, this time for good” with that Bunji did something even he had not anticipated he would do leaning in his crimson eyes shut, but his lips pressed again Izumi’s full feminine lips. The kiss was one full of tender love, the way Bunji held her face so gently, the way he pressed against his lips it was a show of affection that he had swallowed up deep inside of him throwing these feelings into a dark void. His hand would slide back grabbing hold of the girls head holding her in place as he deepened the kiss with more passion, for more seconds the kiss was held, a single tear rolled down Bunji’s face, just one reaching his chin, and dripping own onto the Ralts that sat between the two kissing humans…

At the mention of the word “die”, she stood up so fast, and brought down both her palms on the table’s surface, making a clattering, if somewhat shocking, noise. “Die? Are you crazy?! Lavaridge waited for your return for three years, and now you’re going to just up and leave again… and after you got here too?” she said all in one go, trying to keep her voice as measured and controlled as possible, because she knew that Momo would hide somewhere whenever she was in “rage mode”. Seeing as she’d already slapped him on the face the moment he got to the café, that was already covered and it was a done deal. “Are you out of your mind?!” she continued, listening on to what he had to say—before continuing with the next statement, although she didn’t realize that she’d said it out loud instead of in her mind, “…you know I’m going to follow you and save your ass if you get in trouble, with what you’re panning. Still, taking down Team Rocket alone is pretty suicidal. Are you sure you don’t want any help?”
The reality of what was supposed to be her inner thoughts spoken out loud hit her a few seconds later, and then she felt all the color drain from her face at that fact. What… what did I just say?! Am I insane for thinking that way?! She thought, trying to keep her mouth closed as she trembled where she stood, unable to decide whether or not to give him another smack upside the head for being crazy. At that moment, Momo’s flailing stopped, before she simply tipped over—due to the enormous amount of confusion radiating from her owner’s mind. “Ralts?” she called out, attempting to steady herself as she picked herself up and made a wobbly dash across the table top to where Izumi stood, unsure if she would just shake him senseless, slap him again, or just watch him leave. The last few words he’d mentioned, however, almost brought her to a stop.
“D-do you really think I could find anyone else…” she trailed off, feeling some color flush back into her face—and his own face was very close now, dangerously so—and at that moment everything just shut off, because he’d come in and kissed her! It was as if the dam holding back her own emotional state had burst wide open upon the contact of his lips with hers—had he really left, and come home... or was he here, a passing shadow of something long gone? Either way, she felt him take hold of her other hand, and unable to resist, her free hand nudged his head closer—and she could feel her own face burning—yet there was a wet sensation that slid across her cheek—was he crying as well?
“Ralts…” she heard Momo say from the table top, but paid it no mind—for she was pouring out every single contained feeling into that kiss connecting the both of them…
The kiss would remain for a moment longer, it continued to linger the man with the red hair would allow the girl to nudge his face allowing her to pull him in closer to the kiss the hand that once cupped her cheek would slider around embracing the girl with a single arm, thus allowing her to come in closer the two locked at the lips. Bunji’s tongue had slid into the girl’s mouth between her luscious lips, using it to brush against her tongue for just a moment it was only a few seconds after that he pulled away from her his lips no longer locked with hers. For a moment he stood there in silence embracing the girl in his arm, his own hand squeezing hers in return pulling away from the silent embrace Bunji would focus his crimsons on Izumi. The once cold glare had softened to the same kind eyes he had back when he was her boyfriend, releasing her hand from his own he would clear his throat looking away rather embarrassed at his actions just now ”I guess the moment took me over” he would say to the girl trying to explain what had just happened. Deep down he was aware why he did what he did, but he knew that reigniting whatever fire there had been between them was not a good thing, not now, and not for him or her even. The male would slide his hands into his pockets looking over at Momo, giving the small Ralts a smile seeing her beam with happiness at what she herself had just witnessed, however there was something Bunji had to address something he had to make perfectly clear.
”Izumi” turning his eyes in the direction of the girl he would focus the crimsons upon her feminine features mainly her amber eyes, ”….I cannot allow you to get involved with this, the whole situation is my problem it has absolutely nothing to do with you. I would not forgive myself Azi, if something happened to you…it would be best if you just head out on your own journey, make your own path…do not follow the broken path which I have been set on” another pause, and this time accompanied by an action a hand rested on her shoulder. Bunji could only hope that Izumi would listen to reason, he was genuinely concerned for her safety, and he did not want her to be put in harms way especially not for him. ”By the way, I am sure you can find someone ten times better than me if you tried” he said to the girl in a light tone, mainly joking around with her but being serious nonetheless. Azi was indeed a good girl, and he knew this, another reason why he would try his best to help her in whatever way he could, but he would not allow her to help him to do such a thing would be selfish on his part.
”Please listen to me, and understand you cannot be a part of this, alright?” he asked with a tone that was filled with concern over the girls safety.

“Why didn’t it last longer…” she said, more to herself than to him once the contact had ended; and if but for a moment she saw a glimmer of the “real” Bunji, the guy who she fell in love with all those years ago (even if it was only three years previous) looking right back at her—but it was just a speak, because it all disappeared at his next few statements. After he’d said his piece, all she did was simply cross her hands over her chest, and then huffed, before speaking up once again— “You really think that I would follow what you said? Because I know how reckless you can get…” she trailed off, flashing back to a certain time long ago where he’d almost gotten into an accident—and she was quick enough to save him from getting into even more trouble than he usually got himself into.
“You’re always saying that you want to do this alone, you want to get there by yourself… but do you really think I would listen to what you have to say?” she ended, her eyebrows shooting so high up, they were threatening to disappear into her hairline.
“It’s going to take a lot of convincing for me to stay off your back, because once you set out… I’m going to follow you… and keep an eye on you… prodigal son,” she ended, unfolding her arms—and for a moment it looked like she was going to shake him—but instead her arms fell down to her sides instead, because she really needed to keep her temper in check!
A heavy sigh escaped Bunji, reaching up with his free hand his right hand being more specific he placed it upon his forehead smacking himself lightly with the palm of said hand, it seemed despite his best efforts Izumi was not going to cooperate but then again that was one of her outstanding qualities the fact that she was so determined to get her way. The girl had always been such, once she set her mind to something she would charge head on without a doubt, raising a brow Bunji stared at her in silence then his eyes moved over to Momo, the small Ralts stared at him curiously as if waiting for his next few actions. ”….Then I guess I will have to take care of you” he said suddenly his smooth voice breaking the silence between them, arms would fold in front of his chest as Bunji became more relaxed his dialogue continued with, ”Since you will insist on stalking me, I will make sure no harm comes your way…I will make sure no on touches my Azi….” the last bit was meant to be a thought. He did not realize this until a few seconds after when his mind clicked with how clear that thought sounded, it was only further reinforced with Momo excited reaction a she has heard Bunji say such a thing to Izumi, “RALTS!” she beamed happily, bouncing about on the table top. A light blush seemed to color the male’s cheekbones as he turned away quickly throwing his hood over his head said hood casting a shadow over enough of his face so that his blush was hopefully concealed.
”Just…er…stay out of harms way A---Izumi” he was quick to correct himself that time, his eyes focused upon the door of the café he was ready to step out, figuring it was best he left now he would turn his full body in that direction walking towards the exit but stopping just before he pushed it open. ”I will be staying at the local inn. I leave tomorrow in the morning” he would sigh lowly to himself, he may regret these next words. ”I will wait for you outside of Lavaridge, we can head out together but once we reach one of the major cities we split up…I can’t risk Rocket spies seeing you near me” with that he pushed the door open stepping out, only to be welcomed by a silent crowd of familiar faces. The male walked ignoring the crowd until he was out on the town streets, he knew it wasn’t ideal, and it was nothing like what they had planned but deep down he felt he owed Izumi that much, he would at least travel with her out of Lavaridge, just for a bit he will live that dream he never got to. The dream they both once shared…

She continued to stare at him—until it came to a point where he’d voiced out something that was apparently meant only for his thoughts, out loud. The effect of what he said was instantaneous—she looked down at the table and saw that Momo was now spinning around happily, tugging at his jacket, before twirling around and finally coming to a stop against her, pulling quite insistently on her own sleeves. Momo, are you nuts?! She thought, her own face turning a shade of pink as well, since she’d heard what he said out loud as well—she knew that her feelings for him hadn’t exactly died out just yet; but once she’d made her point, there was no way in hell that anyone could get Izumi to change her mind—most especially him. “You take me for someone weak, Bunji? I’ll let you know, I’ve been battling on the side ever since you left…” while saying the last part to herself, but I am not strong enough yet to take on Flannery, because come on, I’m going to tackle the Hoenn circuit in order, not out of bounds…
After a few more moments, she then said, “You know I’m going to be tailing you… I still have to keep an eye out on you. And besides, wouldn’t it be nice if you had backup waiting for you in the shadows, just in case whatever you’re planning to do backfires as well…” she added, knowing that she had to be thorough—yet she was sorely tempted to invite him over to stay in their guest bedroom for the night—as Izumi and her mother lived above the café. She was about to formulate another sentence when he suddenly turned tail and then exited the premises of the café; before the door swung shut she saw that the crowd outside still didn’t disperse—were they really that tenacious, hanging on to whatever hope had reappeared, with the return of Lavaridge’s “prodigal son”?
“See you in the morning…” she trailed off, quickly going around the café once more and retracting all of the shutters and blinds, and then flipping the “Closed” sign to “Open” once more—at which the entire population that had gathered outside quickly streamed in and surrounded her, besieging her with questions and asking if she was alright; or asking for drinks or something to eat.
