Summer casually moved through the meadows, her long blue dress swaying casually with the Eevee, known as Robin, moving at her side. Occasionally she would let out a loud yipping noise in excitement to response to the other Pokemon that moved silently behind the trees. The world was lit by the purest veil of darkness that was combined with the silent, white rays from the moon. Dark grey clouds filled the sky, only serving to shield the glittering white balls of fire. Shallow rivers crashing against a rocky shore roared loudly in the background. Slowly inching her way up the mountain pass, she smiled. She loved the mountains. There was something about watching the Ponyta and the Deerling in their natural habitat that made her feel at ease. The way they appeared and vanished like a fiery red flame. The way the Deerling and Sawsbuck herded together and pranced about in a performance that she couldn't help but admire. Even the other Pokemon that scurried to and fro through the trees and behind their man-made thickets.
Reaching the top of the mountain she stopped. Taking one final moment to take in the smell of fresh grass, she looked down at Robin. The small Eevee was staring up at her, wide-eyed and awaiting instruction. Bending down she patted the little fox kit on her head before ushering her on to stand in front of her. She could feel the star-shaped fairy Titania shuffling side her backpack for but a moment, before her movements stopped. Instantly, yipping, Robin stretched her legs and adjusted her footing to enter a running position.
"Robin, let's try using Quick Attack. Remember run as fast as you can for as long as you can!"
Barking, she began running. Her small frame becoming cloaked in a veil of white light the faster she moved. Summer watched as the veil of white increased Robin's speed the instant it appeared, but this lasted for but a moment as it faded 5 seconds into its appearance. Her paws skidding across the ground, the Eevee came to a complete stop, her small head turning back to Summer.
"It's okay, love. Let's just try it again! Push yourself!"
Nodding, she began running again. A small jog that eventually turned into a full blown run. The white outline appeared once again, granting her the boost in speed that she needed. Moving in a zig-zag motion her small legs began to cave in on themselves, but she continued running in some effort to achieve that untapped potential. Taking a solid leap into the air, she felt her body crash into something just as soon as she fell against the Earth. Summer knew what this meant...time to battle.
The dust settled and tension strangled the open air.
Doe eyes grew wide as she was met with the visage of Hawlucha. She wanted to run, but she was at an impasse. On one hand there stood the idea that Robin might just be able to win, but on the other hand the bird Pokemon held several advantages over the fox kit which could lead to her demise. Cracking her knuckles and shaking the thoughts from her mind she grimaced. Though Robin was inexperienced in battle in her defense she was crafty, sneaky and resourceful all of which could lead to her victory. All she had to do was have a little faith.
"Okay, Robin we got this! Use Quick Attack!"
She smiled. The small fox like Pokemon breaking into a sprint, the white outline covering her entire frame leaving a trail of glittering dust behind her. Moving in a zig-zag motion she was almost unseen once she came crashing into the wrestler Pokemon. The collision sending the bird Pokemon stumbling before it regained its balance and moved in for the kill. Jumping into the air it leaped down on the ground, its leg outstretched. Before she could react, a loud yelp pierced through the glassy night sky. Robin had just felt the power of a Pokemon that stood at twice her advantage. Her body digging deep into the Earth only barely managing to roll from under the bird's powerful talons. Slipping from under the bird's mighty grip, she bared her teeth a low snarl following after.
"Hmm..."
The world seemingly feel silent as she began to think of a strategy. She needed a distraction and a follow up.
"Robin, use Swift and follow up with Quick Attack!"
The crack of a Swift sent the small stars flinging towards Hawlucha, each one surrounding the bird Pokemon as she moved into the air through a spectacular leap only to be met with Robin's small form speeding through the grassland kicking off into the air to meet Hawlucha's form. However, she was met with a counter. Arial Ace. The bird was prepared for this, her frame being covered in the white light and angelic outline that created a large cloud of smoke once she collided with Robin. The large smoke cloud lasted for but a few moments and when it cleared, Robin was standing in front of the bird once again; the larger of the two letting out a loud caw before balling its hands into a fist and moving back in for another Arial Ace.
"Dodge it using Quick Attack then follow it up with Swift and then Quick Attack one last time!"
She waited. The anticipation brewing inside of her before she broke into another Quick Attack. Her body moved like the wind, kicking off the ground at the final moment before she found herself behind Hawlucha. Still in mid-air she adjusted her body weight allowing for her to turn and face the Hawlucha releasing a series of golden stars that sent the bird Pokemon to the ground, and what followed was the swift Quick Attack right into the bird's back. Smiling at the fainting bird, Robin rushed back to her partner a grin plastered on her face.
Her eyes shot open as the small rabbit like Pokemon peered from behind the small bush that served as its visage to make its statement as Robin's next challenge.
The small brown fox looked back her trainer, a twisted grin forming on her face as she bolted towards the Bunnebly with an unmatched speed. The battle prior had made her confident in her skills even though she knew nothing of its skills. It was good to be confident, but at the same time it could lead to her demise. The rabbit Pokemon's head turned to the side before it bolted into a sprint using Quick Attack, its speed countering Robin's. She would notice this and dash into a Quick Attack of her own, her body moving in a zig-zag formation in an attempt to confuse the rabbit. But alas, she failed in this venture with the small creature seeing right through her ploy and crashing into her head on sending her stumbling backwards.
"Robin, are you okay?!"
Her only reassurance was the Eevee lifting from the ground and moving back towards her target. Nodding, Summer knew they did have a fair shot at winning so long as she planned everything accordingly.
"Robin, use Quick Attack then follow up with Iron Tail!"
Iron Tail was their secret move. They had only used it ever so often, so it would take a hell of a lot of effort on Robin's end to make this happen. Growling, she dashed under the moonlight with her small frame being engulfed in a bright white light as she dodged the rabbit's Bounce assault waiting for her to come down before she slammed her tail into the back of the rabbit's head with a swift and powerful Iron Tail. The rabbit screeched in pain before running off into the night, with its hands placed on the back of its head. And Robin stood there, tail wagging.
The strike between Robin's Swift and the Sentret's Hyper Voice connected miraculously; the explosion between the two created a tension that strangled the frigid air. Summer knew this was one of many to come, she couldn't help but wonder how much closer Robin was to evolution and after having one battle after battle she couldn't help but believe that it was coming near. The explosion creating a sound that reverberated in a ear shattering noise which caused Robin to growl lowly. Robin's only safe haven was her speed at this point, but the Sentret had proved the ability to easily out class her in that area. Her doe eyes leveling on the squirrel-esque creature, she backed away slowly preparing for her trainer's orders.
"Okay Robin, let's try Quick Attack and follow up with Bite!"
Hesitation would be her downfall. Rushing ahead the ground became a victim to the confined strength and speed that pulsated around her frame, forcing debris to fly into the air as the moved. The Sentret would notice this, curling its body in an effective Defense Curl that would give it slight protection with the incoming blast. Colliding into the demon's frame, she instantly bit down on its shoulder, digging her small fox-like teeth into its form. Moments of experience had helped Summer understand that though the creature was strong, there was still some weakness that would keep it from winning. Digging her fangs into the creature she would eventually be shaken off and thrown to the side, only to be hit by another pulsating Hyper Voice that sent her small form flying into a nearby tree.
"ROBIN!"
Her voice echoed across the fields, her eyes shot open to stare down at the small fox kit followed by her running after her. Bending down she placed her hand on the fox's small frame. She was going to return her. Grabbing her Poke Ball she clicked the small button only to be met with a swift swipe from the fox's paw with her small eyes expressing her determination. Smiling, Summer stood and walked back to her original standing point with Robin trailing at her side.
"Okay Robin...let's do this! Use Quick Attack then Iron Tail!"
Roaring she speed forward, following a straight line before leaping into the air only inches away from the squirrel Pokemon. It noticed this and instantly moved to dodge the slam that was coming towards it. Leaping sideways the Sentret was met with Robin's body falling flat in front of it, with her tail glowing silver before turning and smacking the small creature dead in her stomach. But the assault wouldn't stop there.
"Finish up with Iron Tail once more and follow up with Swift!"
Before the creature had time to react, Robin's tail collided once more. This time sending the creature flying back into an opposing tree only to be met with golden stars that made the attack a lot more painful. Struggling the Sentret tried to move, but failed in the process. It was down for the count.
A brow raised as Summer took notice to the electric rodent that stood before her. It's small frame was but a clever veil to the power that it stored, something that came into light once the small orange mouse released a large orb of electricity known as Volt Switch; however as powerful as it was, it lacked the addition side effect of being able to switch its position. Robin took the damage, only having barely enough energy from her last battle, the poor fox let out a loud shrill cry in pain and proceeded to cripple down in pain. The brown coated Pokemon had gotten powerful, but her power only exceeded so much before she was coming close to her limit, and having no moves to heal herself she was at an end. But this didn't mean she would give up, and this is what made her one of Summer's strongest Pokemon.
"Robin let's start this off with Swift!"
Jumping into the air, Summer watched as the fox like Pokemon released a stream of golden stars from her frame. Each star crashing into the ground creating a smokescreen that would provide the perfect veil for Robin. Though this also served as a smokescreen for Dedenne. The small electric mouse moving to crash into Robin, using Nuzzle. Its small cheeks releasing a stream of electricity that served to knock Robin back a few meters. Catching herself mid-air Robin used her paws as an anchor to slow herself down, now moving in for another attack.
"Iron Tail!"
Rushing ahead, Robin's tail glowed a bright silver that she used to knock the Dedenne into a nearby tree. Still mid-air the small mouse released a stream of electricity, also known as the move Discharge in order to strike back at Robin. The problem with this being that Summer was already prepared to keep the small fox out of harm's way.
"Robin, dodge it with Detect! Then follow it up with Swift!"
From a distance she watched as the fox's brown eyes began to glow a light blue allowing her a swift dodge of the incoming electric bolts. Each one missing by a long shot as she continued to inch closer towards her target before she unleashed a flurry of golden stars that made a direct hit to the mouse's small frame. A smile pressed along her face as the mouse was no longer able to move. This was just one in another quick victories for Robin.
Summer watched as Robin's body fell to the ground as soon as the cow-like Pokemon made an appearance. Rushing over she reached down and scooped the Pokemon into her hand, its small frame being almost weightless in her arms. There wasn't too much that she could do at this point except run. Robin's big brown eyes blinked a few times before she realized what Summer was doing; she was saving her. Now nuzzling her head in the arms of her loving trainer, she smiled under the moon's rays. If only Summer could understand her, because mentally the small creature was thanking her.
