At her core Summer is compassionate, determined, courageous, shy, thoughtful, serene, and kind to everyone around her. She is unlike most girl her age and presents herself as a saint among her people while exhibiting contradicting duplicitous traits. Because of her upbringing, and unlike most other peoples, she shows empathy and acceptance towards all peoples and trainers despite their affiliation with members of Team Rocket, Plasma and the like. She almost always has a smile on her face, and always displays a serene expression that acts as a byproduct of her gentle nature. From an outsider's perspective, Summer is not fit to be a Pokemon Trainer and is by all means a timid coward who would not be able to serve as a Trainer. However, her unspoken bravery and confidence has led people to make a point to assure her worth when she is doubted. The strongest amount of her bravery is shown when she is willing to put her life on the line for her comrades and for the sake of humanity.
The Wallflower. Summer's personality derives on the allure of gentleness with kind, soft, empathetic and serene undertones. Holder of a mezzo-soprano voice she delivers soft-spoken remarks that come off as her being timid, skittish and polite. A loner by trade, she is a girl of few words she speaks only when spoken too and never actively seeks out conversation making her anti-social at best. She handles her words carefully being sure to input the necessary honorifics that better relate to the person at hand. Her lack in social skills and all around grace makes it hard for her to engage in conversations albeit she does possess the necessary intelligence to do so. She is a girl of beaming intelligence with the potential to unlock the secrets the world has to offer, however with an untapped potential and lack of self confidence both socially and physically she labels herself as the invisible narrator in her own story. For this reason alone she is seen as being weak with no true purpose something she has come to accept.
The true oxymoron of contradicting and duplicitous traits to this Trainer is her vulnerability. As with all people, Summer has shown signs of vulnerability displayed in her emotional fragility. She is shown to be withdrawn with a inability to handle her emotions well which often leads to temper tantrums and death threats. She will not hesitate to strike back with vicious remarks and often times has a break down of her mental psyche. Stoic in nature, she has led herself to unconsciously harboring the pain of others, something that many people find to be a 'weak' trait. Summer seems to show a large degree of humanity and empathetic personality traits that makes her a very reliable person emotionally. Capable of being emotional sponge, she cares quiet a large deal for those around her something that she displays in both her attitude and her actions. This part about herself makes her uphold herself as a symbol of protection as she is willing to protect anyone whom she has developed a long-term bond with. The large amount of caring she holds for other people has made her out to be an emotional rock, which serves her as being willing to carry the emotions of others but unable to keep her own under control. Despite being stoic in nature she is a victim of the occasional melancholy and sometimes her emotional mindset spirals out of control. Though one should not say that she is a victim of her own melancholy rather she is simply a victim or keeping her emotions hidden until they explode.
A tomboy at heart, she sometimes exhibits characteristics of a typical boy. She sometimes wears masculine clothes and engages in physical activities and games that are meant for men. She's the girl that is willing to take and throw a few punches whenever she feels that someone she cares about is in danger, even though she rarely lets this part of personality show. She tends to be fearless & willing to fight, but not stupid in that aspect. She is intolerant of bullies and is willing to step in to balance uneven situations. She isn't afraid of getting down and dirty and for the most part doesn't care what people think. Only recently has she begun to change to a more feminine and gentle personality, leaving her tomboy-esque personality behind.

The problem with history is that it's always a fickle thing. The results are variable and you never truly know what happened unless you were there to witness it yourself; but even then there's no true guarantee that what you're seeing is what actually happened. Frankly when it comes down to it, you just gotta trust that the stories you've heard in the history books is enough of a reason to believe that your family was born and bred of a good pedigree and you've got enough good genes and good stories to last a lifetime. The Grey family were anything but shitty stories and piss poor genes. Their story as poor farmers in Azalea Town who soon rose to the occasion as Pokemon Trainers and Breeders etched well once the family moved to the Kanto region where they dove back into their roots as Pokemon Breeders and ranch owners. The Grey's began to mix and mingle with the Kanto Natives, producing beautiful children with oddly-colored hair that acted as a byproduct of recessive genes coming to light. The uniqueness in their families genes made them the crème de la crème of beauty that made them highly known among the Kanto Region. As all fairy tales will tell you there is always a storm after the calm.
The Grey were renowned in the history books for their brutality towards Pokemon and their awkward disposition towards anyone outside of their family. Before modern times, the Grey family were known for using Pokemon as mere tools to induce conflicts between towns and for their own selfish purposes, in a manner similar to Team Rocket and the like. At the center of this wicked peoples, there stood a select few who valued Pokemon as their equals and friends. Many of them made attempt at spreading this view towards their fellow family members, only to be tossed to the side and disowned as weaklings among the family. These inhumane views would eventually die down and wither into nothingness as the Grey family line would come to see the error of their ways and change into better peoples, not without having a massive battle with one another. But that's a story for another day.
It is these stories that Summer was raised on in the orphanage where she listened in amazement of the various acts that would follow her into adulthood and thereafter. She grew up learning and memorizing the possible stories of her lineage that drew from speculations of her pink hair and matching eyes. The Kanto orphanage were not hesitant in encouraging Summer's ideas of her true family heritage as they often saw a faint glimmer in her eyes with each story they told. They deduced that her family dropped her off at the orphanage out of fear of not being able to properly care for her, or that they didn't want the shame of their family to surround their daughter. No matter how they saw it, the orphanage saw Summer as a true Grey family member and they held her in high regard despite her family being known for their ruthless behavior far before they became famous Trainers and Breeders.
Her time at the orphanage was short-lived, specifically until Summer's 5th birthday, where she was then adopted by Alyssa and Michael Grey, Michael being a fifth generation Grey family member. The family heard rumors of the little pink-haired pixie and traveled to the Kanto region just to adopt her, where the would adopt her and take her back to the Bosky Hamlet and raise her as their own, along with their twins who were a solid 5 years older that Summer. The family were known in their small town for being excellent Pokemon Breeders, with Lauren being a talented coordinator and Tony being a talented Pokemon trainer. Being surrounded by Pokemon since the time she was brought to Bosky, Summer's love for Pokemon flourished only a few short months while at the family's ranch. Her love for Pokemon would eventually spawn into training, which started just as soon as she found the first Pokemon that she had grown to admire. A Clefairy. The fairy-esque Pokemon belonged to Alyssa, though she very rarely trained it and used it for a companion more than anything else. Alyssa raised her on fairy tales such as Cinderella and Snow White which would soon develop her love of fairy Pokemon, dark Pokemon, and Ghost Pokemon all of which were key elements to a great fairy tale.
Summer's zeal of the Grey's family ranch and training led to her idea of wanting to becoming a powerful Pokemon trainer. A developing personality of a kind and compassionate girl overtook and shrouded the lonely and sad girl that reared its ugly head ever so often. The slight determination and confidence didn't go unnoticed by her aunt and uncle whom would eventually give Summer a Cleffa egg to care for and raise as her own once the Pokemon hatched. The egg was given to her on her 7th birthday and would eventually hatch during a meteor shower. Bordering on the fortunate the Cleffa would be named Solstice. Rejoicing in the Cleffa's cries of happiness, Summer and Solstice would be joined at the hip. The little Cleffa would be held in high regard by Summer, being one of the few Pokemon that refused to stay inside a Poke Ball instead wanting to rest on Summer's shoulder. Fast-forward a few years and Summer would grow into a great and terrible beauty that lived for her Pokemon; this love for her Pokemon led to her catch an Igglybuff and an Eevee and soon after she would leave the small ranch where she was raised same as her cousins did before her. Her unique battle-style and personality would make her unique among the training world, she would eventually go to name herself "The Sad Summer Shower," in honor of her own self-made fairy tale.

Could she accept? Her head tilted back as she began to dwell on the query of accepting her own pain, or accepting the pain that he was going to inflict upon her. Mentally she pondered whether or not she could truly accept the things that were being placed before her; for years she had mindlessly accepted the theories and the rules of the Shinigami realm that had been drilled into her skull but only recently had she begun to deny the world's interest and replace with them with her own collective theories. The Shinigami didn't like this and many had made attempt at throwing her back in line to become another mindless zombie who lived by the code that was not their own rather a code that had been used for centuries to control the minds and dreams of the people around them. She had not accepted that. But maybe she could accept this. It was in this moment that something sparked a change in her, those dull brown orbs were now filled with unspoken taint that as she bent down to match her height with Aun's they challenged his own insanity. Her hand still gripping the blade she looked at him. And her lips curled as she finally gained the words to speak. "Aun-nee I'm not scared anymore..." The fear that once plagued her was no longer there, it like her alliance to her entire race, and her beliefs in their rules and theories, was gone. She was no longer scared, she was bliss.
