Desperate to avoid hitching a free ride to the Isle de Arnte on his mom’s Wailord squad, Danny opted for the safer option of hitching a ride on one of the Bosky ferries. It wasn’t as if he hated her, but being around his carefree mother as she dived in and out of her maternal kicks was more exhausting than walking up six flights of stairs. Why bother doing that when you could take the elevator straight up to festival central. It actually took some convincing on his mom’s end to even get him to consider getting close to the stale icing of the arctic, but the isle’s alluring architectures were what sealed the deal for him. Polar Point was merely going to be a resting stop for the grand scheme of things; if there were abandoned buildings to be found out here, then he wanted a piece of the action. Maybe pick up a few souvenirs that were aged by a good couple of centuries and brag about them online when his ego needed a quick pick-me-up. It wasn’t his first time on a boat, and unlike the first time he traveled between regions by boat, he easily evaded sea sickness by avoiding the internet until they reached their destination. Their final destination. Except Danny planned on going back to Bosky after this, and he wasn’t all that into getting stuck in a weird plot where some psychic saw a vision where everyone died and tried to prevent it, only to pick off the au survivors one by one. Nope. He wasn’t about that kind of life. If his life was going to be turned into a movie when he struck the gold mine known as internet fame, it wasn’t going to be a shit-tastic movie, that was for sure. Sinking his feet into the ankle-deep layer of snow as he hustled with the crowd towards the opening ceremony, his teeth clacked against one another until he tightened a floppy pink scarf around the bridge of his nose, ensuring that he could at least see where the hell he was going without breathing in the sting of the cold with each tired breath. It was pretty disappointing to see the lack of traditional festival games that one would expect from a city that was used to having them year after year, but from what he understood, all of the fun stuff was going to happen on the second day, so the day’s plan was to either explore or settle in. He didn’t stick around the opening ceremony for long—only lasting long enough to see what the deal about the Princess was, and with that, he left in search for Aqua’s promised free food. It didn’t take long to find the building that housed all the grub due to the colorful signs that pointed out each key location for the following festivities, and Danny easily made himself warm and content with a steamy cup of joe at one of the wooden tables in the back of the room. It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to socialize, but in this type of situation, the back was best because it was the furthest away from the door. Not today, bitter breeze. Not today. |

| Polar Point was probably one of the coldest places Nayru had been to, despite being raised in Snowbelle City of Kalos. She was used to the freezing environment, however, and was properly dressed for the weather. Her Houndour was ever by her side, trotting along happily as he looked around with curiosity. There was so many people here, the silver haired female noticed, and she began to wonder if there was a special event taking place. She noticed that the area was decorated beautifully, and she stared in awe. Hoping to find somewhere warm, she walked into the nearest building that appeared to be offering food and beverages, Cerberus shaking his body rapidly to rid himself of the snow that had landed on him.
Taking a seat near the fireplace at the back of the room, Nayru smiled as her Pokémon laid down beside her, whining happily as he rested his head on her lap. Caressing his head lovingly, the girl could see how tired her partner was. He could barely keep his eyes open, so she decided to soothe him to sleep with a lullaby. She hummed a gentle tune softly to herself, seeing her companion snuggle closer to her. She continued, soon parting her lips to sing a gentle melody, watching Cerberus breathe in and out slowly as his body relaxed against her touch.
"Wild flower blossoming, I beg of you. Tell me this so I know too. Why do people fight? They all act as if it's right. Don't they know that's no way to live?" Her voice was soft and soothing, soon humming the rest of the song as she watched her Houndour sleep peacefully. Little did she know that her singing attracted a bit of attention. |

It was nice knowing that he wasn’t the first person to ditch the opening ceremony, seeing how the quaint cafeteria area was gradually starting to fill up with guests that needed a brief escape from the cold. Lengthy speeches weren’t Danny’s thing, and he figured that if he missed any juicy tidbits from the people that ran their mouths faster than the cold could keep up, he’d end up overhearing it at some point. With his phone as his sole companion, he idly skimmed through his Twitter feed to see what was going on with the rest of the world. It didn’t take long to find the hashtag pissfits of the crowd, and while Danny wanted to laugh and groan at Aqua’s attempts to teach people to go green, team pissbaby saw differently. Of course there were going to be people that made sarcastic comments about how Aqua quit their ‘flood the region’ plan to avenge the missing Ice Climbers in the butt spanking new Smash Brothers for the Wii U, and for the most part, Danny re-tweeted those with a snort and a snicker. But the tweets that got real annoying real fast were the ones that had to take the entire ordeal so damn seriously. - Guys, srsly? Don’t support Aqua by going to their shitty event. #PP - Wtf? Y’all just gonna ignore what happened in Hoenn? #Nosecondchances #PP - You can suck my Polar Point if you support #PP “Do-re-mi- fa-ck you.” The internet could be such a glorious place when it wasn’t shoved into his face with a first class ticket to the guilt trip train. Flipping his phone off in defeat, he gave it a quick time out on the table as he impatiently glanced around the room to check if anyone was watching him. Closest person to him was some girl and her Houndour that were chilling next to the fireplace, and sure enough, she wasn’t looking anywhere near him. Perfect. Danny sat as still as a statue with a frown that tentatively twitched and curled up in temptation as he stared down his phone with a dangerous glint in his eyes. He could only last a few seconds until he scrambled back to his phone and flipped it back open to Twitter, straining his face with a haughty sneer as he slammed his middle finger against the screen, time and time again. “Yeah. That’ll teach’em to loosen up.” Not that he gave enough of a shit to defend Aqua when the group messed up as bad as they did in the past, but he sure as hell didn’t want to be scolded as if he was playing a part in some demonic ritual. This was all fun and games! Honest. And if people online couldn’t get that, then they obviously needed to lurk moar. Somehow in the midst of his frustrations, what he assumed to be background noise from some kind of radio roped his attention back towards the fireplace. He could’ve sworn that he heard lyrics when his mind unconsciously tuned in and out of the usual chit-chat buzz, and suddenly not hearing any music at all was simply plain odd. Where did it go? He gave the room another quick skim to predict where the speakers could’ve been hidden, but luck wasn’t with him until he happened to focus back on the girl and her Houndour, barely picking up on the soothing hums of a lullaby as she coaxed her Houndour to rest. He watched her with a quizzical expression to see if she’d suddenly prove his suspicions correct with a couple more lyrics, but when he didn’t get what he wanted, he decided inch a bit closer while attempting to get her attention with a friendly wave. “Hey, uh. Was the radio playing? Or was that you singing? The cold must be getting to me, because I couldn't tell.” He nearly blurted out the lyrics to Carly Rae Jespen’s “Hey, I just met you” for the sake of making a silly pop culture reference, but he contained himself on the off chance that the song was more annoying than funny. |
