Josh let out a sigh as as he stepped into the Safari Zone, the mountain district, for a second time. His last attempt to catch a Tepig had ended in failure, but with his last license for the month, Josh wasn't willing to give up so easily. He'd gotten a bit of a early halloween scare in the form of an Aerodactyl, but this time? He had a secret weapon.
Josh patted the Pokeball on his belt as Lightning clung to his shoulder, as he walked through the mountain area. He couldn't find Tepig while going up the mountain... So he decided to try going around, taking his time... Relaxing, letting himself chill and smell the roses. Look around, find his stride, and maybe even find what he was looking for.
"Do you feel lucky, Lightning?" he asked his Pikachu partner. "Pikachu!" Lightning chirped eagerly. He felt lucky alright. He felt Pika-Lucky!

Oh god damnit, not again.
Josh noticed another Charmander and tilted his head. Were they going in the same direction as before? He felt a strange sense of deja vu. Was he in the right Safari Zone? He didn't know, but he wasn't sure why he was finding the same damn things on two damn trips. "Wait a minute, I recognize this spot. We were here last time!" Josh said. "Pikachu!" Lightning let out as he recognized it too. "There should be a fork in the road here too... If I recall correctly" he said.
And there it was. Two ways to go on this mountain. "Maybe we should go the other way?" he suggested to the Pikachu, who would nod. "Pika! Pika Pikachu!" Lightning chirped in response, trying to convey its thought somehow despite a failure to speak English. "Might as well try, I suppose" Josh said, giving a sigh as the pair would take the other way this time.

And then he saw the Kangaskhan. The same one as last time. Josh's eyes narrowed irritably. This was just getting absolutely ridiculous now. But it didn't matter, he already owned a Charmander, and already owned a Kanghaskhan. He decided to continue on.
Lightning sensed his Trainer's discomfort and whined. "Pika Pi..." he whined and Josh sighed before patting his head. "I'm fine, Lightning. Just not really doing well luck-wise, it seems" he said, giving an exasperated sigh. How long would this go on?
Josh would grab onto a rock and start climbing the mountain in an area different from before. Perhaps, if they tried alternate routes, then they would be able to find different kinds of Pokemon? He'd been in this zone before, he KNEW there were different kinds. But where were they?
He supposed they'd just have to find out. These passes were expensive, yknow.
Josh looked out at the sky as they climbed, anxiously awaiting what was to come....

"Ignore it, Lightning" the irritated blonde said as he averted his eyes from the same Larvesta as before. "Ignore it and it'll go away" he said to the Pikachu that was trying to point out the obvious. "Yes, I know" Josh said, taking a breath. Time was running out, this wasn't good at all. "I should write a book" the blonde muttered. "How to waste over 160 PokeDots in two easy steps" he added, shaking his head. This was getting ridiculous, he thought to himself.
Josh sighed as he recognized another part of the mountain, and would then switch course and climb another way. At this point, he was tempted to just jump off the mountain and see if he landed somewhere that wouldn't kill him. But he didn't do that, of course.
"You see anything, Lightning?" he called. "Pika..." Lightning said, shaking his head. Josh sighed, there went his plans to try out his newest project in battle against a Pokemon he'd been seeking for a long time now.
Josh would crack his neck as they climbed to the top of the mountain once again. "Well, here we are again" the blonde said, shaking his head. "Do you see anything?"

Josh looked up. There it was. Aerodactyl, flying around. His palm hit his face very quickly. "This isn't even funny anymore" the blonde said, sitting down on the mountaintop. He sighed and took out a repel, giving it a spray. "I suppose Larvitar will be showing up soon. Or something worse" he said, rolling his eyes. His quest for Tepig had ultimately failed, and all he'd done was burn through a lot of PokeDots and effort.
"Well, honestly we might as well just head home" the dejected blonde said as he got up. Time was almost up anyway. Might as well start up the walk now. He started to climb down the mountain, a quiet Pikachu clinging to his shoulder. Whoever was messing with them must be laughing right about now. What he knew was he'd probably be taking a vacation from Zone 2, for sure... Just a shame that Izumi didn't have the means to help him with this.

As they got to the bottom of the mountain, they slid down and... Crashed into a Torchic, sending it tumbling along with them as they went from standing sliding to butt sliding. "TORRRRRRR!" it let out as it landed on Josh's lap, and Josh realized... They'd taken a wrong turn! They were sliding the wrong way, and going fast! Josh didn't know where they were going!
"PIIIIKKAAAAAAA!" Lightning cried out as he desperately clinged to Josh's shoulder to remain steady as they slid down the mountain at high speeds, along with this poor Torchic that had just been grazing for food before it'd gotten taken along for the ride. Finally, they'd hit the bottom and both Lightning and the Torchic would go flying, hitting the ground. Josh groaned as he got to his feet, rubbing his head. That'd been a rough ride..
"Torchic! Tor!" The Torchic would shout angrily at the Pikachu. "CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!" it suddenly let out as the Torchic loosed a Flamethrower on Lightning. "PIKA!" Lightning cried out as he ran around with his tail on fire under he found a water hole, jumping in as steam erupted from the Pikachu. "Pika..." he let out in relief.
"Huh..." Josh said. "Well, we're almost out of time... So... Why not" he said as he pulled out a Pokeball. "Go, Yoshi!" he called. "Tyrunt!" Yoshi let out as he was let out. "Quick, use Earthquake!" Josh called. "Ty!" he would respond, opening the match and stomping his feet before the match could get underway and Torchic could attack, causing the earth to tremble below them. The ground would crack, and the ground would shatter just below Torchic, dealing massive damage and sending it staggering back. The Torchic would manage to get up and use Scratch. "Chic! Chick Chic Chic! Chic!" it let out as it tried to scratch Yoshi repeatedly, doing so but with little damage due to typing. "Crunch!" Josh called. "Ty... RUNT!" Yoshi let out as he hit the Torchic hard with a fang, sending it tumbling back. "Finish it with Dragon Claw!" Josh commanded. Yoshi's claws would glow purple and he'd charge the Torchic, hitting it hard and sending it flying.
Josh would toss the Safari Ball at Torchic and hit it in mid-air, watching it disappear into the ball...

Boop....
Boop...
Boop....
The Torchic suddenly escaped from the ball! Josh gritted his teeth. "Gah... I figured it was only a matter of time after the Earthquake" he said irritably. "It looks like we've still got a hell of a fight to go, Yoshi! This Torchic is tough!" Josh said as Yoshi got back into a battle stance. The Torchic's eyes would suddenly turn a dark red and flames would shoot from it's body as it took on an enraged tone. Blaze had been activated!
Josh took a breath. "Okay... This is going to be MUCH more difficult then I anticipated.." he muttered as he took a step back, from the Torchic's sudden activation of Blaze. "TORRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" it let out angrily as it unleashed an inferno of a Flamethrower toward Yoshi, hitting him without warning and hitting the Tyrunt hard. "Ty! Ty! Tyrunt Ty!" Yoshi whined in agony from the flames. Josh gritted his teeth.
"Gah... Yoshi, you need to get behind it and use Dragon Claw!" he called. "Get out of the flames!" he commanded. "Ty!" Yoshi called as he managed to find his way out of the searing hot flames. "Jump!" Josh would call as the enraged Torchic would go for a Scratch attack to capitalize. Yoshi would leap over it's head and land behind it, his claws going purple. "Tyyyy.... RUNT!" he let out as he slashed the Torchic, sending it back. The Torchic would quickly turn around and fire another Flamethrower.
"Dodge!" Josh called as the Tyrunt would roll out of the way of the Flamethrower. "Earthquake!" he quickly called. "Tyrunt!" he let out as he stomped his feet, the earth trembling again, and the ground suddenly erupting below the Torchic and sending it up into the air. Another Super Effective hit!
"Torrr!" it let out in pain as Josh pointed up to it. "Finish it with Crunch mixed with a Dragon Claw!" Josh called. "Jump!" he added. "Ty!" Yoshi responded as he leaped up, sinking his jaws into the Torchic. It let out a wild cry in agony before Yoshi followed Josh's instructions. Torchic was trapped from the Crunch attack. "Tyyyy...." Yoshi let out as his claws glowed purple. "RUNT!" he called as he loosed the Dragon Claw on the Torchic, sending it out of his jaws and to the ground. Josh took a breath and picked up the Safari Ball, throwing it at Torchic one more time.
