nothing really / 1 | 4 for September! / 471
The September digging season had started, and since she had been slacking off the last time, Andrea decided to take advantage of starting early this time; because during the last digging season she’d started in the middle of the month and had cut way too close with the changing of the months! This time, though, things were going to be different—she then decided to get ahead and start as early as she could. Now that she was heading out back towards the Badlands once again, shovel in one hand, backpack slung over her shoulders and Milotic traveling by her side—she felt prepared for anything. What she was not prepared for, however, was the fact that there was a horrible sandstorm blowing through the Badlands the moment she had arrived! “Ah, shoot, you have got to be joking…” she muttered, squinting through the grit and seeing the few people who were brave enough to try and go on a digging trip in this madness, before reaching above her head and then slipping down a pair of goggles she’d almost forgotten she’d owned—until this very moment.
“Well, at least I can see where I’m… oh, crud, Lexie, this isn’t your weather…” she muttered, quickly recalling the Tender ‘mon into its Pokeball, before braving the howling grit and wind that was starting to pick up. Drats, maybe I should’ve brought my Ground-type… but I only have one and he’s… well… she thought to herself as she fought against the wind and finally arrived at the check point; which was unusually abandoned today due to the bad weather. After hefting her things over to the guard (and grabbing a few gulps of water from the nearby dispenser) she then grabbed her things and braved it out into the sandstorm that was now howling through the dig site. If she squinted, she could see that there were a few other brave souls who were trying their luck at this digging thing; and hopefully not getting blown away! Ugh, looks like I’m on my own now… she thought as she decided to keep her backpack on her as she looked around in the grit, trying to find a place that wasn’t too far from the guards’ outpost (if in case she needed to make break for it if the weather got way out of hand).
After walking approximately… twenty, thirty steps, she then decided that the area where she had stopped was as good as any, and began to dig, not minding the fact that the weather was going crazy! As long as I got my goggles on, I’m fine… I should be fine… she trailed off, hearing the thudding of the shovel against the packed ground as she tossed dirt off to one side, her ears perked for the sound of anything… suspicious.

With the way that the sandstorm was blowing around the Badlands, Andrea was having a pretty hard time seeing in front of her. Hell, she couldn’t even hear herself thinking over the howling of all the grit! Ugh, great. Looks like I have to take a long bath and scrub all the sand out of my pores… I feel disgustingly icky now… she thought crossly to herself as she continued to shove the digging implement deeper into the grit… little did she realize that there was a sound that went off like a gunshot. “What the… oh, hell, not again!” she groaned to herself as she realized that she had most likely hit something that she was not supposed to have hit. She then tried to squint through the howling grit; and saw that through the mostly brown that she could make out… it looked like a long black claw. Or something similar along those lines… but it was definitely not a marble; not the thing she was looking for.
“Nope, nope, I’m not moving… rather, I cannot move at all from my spot because the weather’s bad…” she muttered to herself as she then moved a few steps to one side; not too far from where she’d unearthed the cracked thing—and then continued digging. She couldn’t risk moving in the weather because it was completely disorienting at this point! “Bleah, now I can taste even the sand on my tongue…” she trailed off, hissing as she then stabbed the ground with the shovel, poking it with her foot so that she could dig it up and continue searching, even in the deplorable weather conditions that she was currently experiencing. This better be worth it, or else… she thought to herself as se continued displacing dirt and grit from the new spot where she was trying her luck.

The sandstorm weather was picking up in intensity—why was it just getting worse?! Andrea could hear the shrieks of shock and surprise coming from the other few brave souls like herself as they felt the howling wind pick up and toss more swirling grit around the immediate vicinity—she could pick up shouts and curses coming from not too far ahead… and that was when she felt her shovel clank against something hard. It didn’t have the distinctive “clink” noise that she normally associated with a shining marble; and as she looked down… she thought she saw another crown; but this time it wasn’t colored like pitch. She then picked it up as best as she could and squinted from behind the goggles, actually dangling the thing off her grip—and then realizing that it was a crown that would fit a Pokémon’s head.
She then snorted (at least in the back of her mind) as she chucked the crown off to one side. She didn’t know if it broke or not; but the point was that, if she didn’t leave with any of the marbles (which she now knew were Mega Stones, thanks to Thomas) today, then she’d be considerably doomed to be living in the streets of Kalos for a while—the marbles made her a lot of money. She then squared her shoulders as she then moved forward—was it for just a few paces, or several—and then found another spot; it was becoming harder and harder to see what was going through the howling of the wind as she then stuck the shovel into the dirt, shoving it along with some help from her foot in order to keep digging!
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RARE BONE ! A bone that is extremely valuable for Pokémon archeology. It can be sold for a high price to shops.

She thought she heard something cracking ominously underfoot—did she manage to destroy something again?! The howling of the desert air was making it harder and harder for her to do any digging; and as she squatted down in order to see what she’d smashed this time around, she cringed—because it was a bone. More like, it was a fucking skull! “Oh crap. I’m sorry I killed you… again,” she muttered with a dark look at the smashed piece of a fossil she didn’t even know. Sighing, she then decided to move to another place—but with the way that the wind was picking up; it was proving much more difficult to see out of the place.
“Crap, calm down for a few moments, will you?” she growled at the weather; hoping that somewhere, someone out there heard her silent pleas. Of course, the crazy-ass Sandstorm-like weather didn’t let up one bit, as she then grabbed the shovel and then marched forward as best as she could, looking for another digging spot in order to keep trying her luck!
After battling through the howling sand, grit and whatever else was flying around, she had arrived at another spot—and this was the best place to try her luck once more. hoping to high heavens that she didn’t get a dud, she then muttered a silent prayer, as she then started stabbing the ground with her shovel; in hopes of finding something that was worth her while, coming out into a very wild-weathered Badlands! Come on, come on, come on… please make this something I can take home and not regret! She thought to herself as she used her foot to help wedge in the bladed end of the shovel into the hard-packed ground—the faster she could unearth something, the faster she could get out of the place!

Was it just her, or was she seeing things through the swirling grit? Andrea blinked from behind the goggles—and thought she saw something sparkling up at her from the ground in the spot where she was currently looking; had she found something that was finally worth the trouble coming out to a Sandtorm-trashed Badlands for? She then stabbed the shovel into the grit and then crouched down, digging through the dirt with her hands—and when she finally managed to pull the sparkling thing out, she then felt a grin flash momentarily across her face; before quickly pursing her lips again because the sand was now blowing towards her!
Yes! It’s another nice, shiny marble thing! This is awesome… even if the weather’s like total crap… she thought with a grin on her face as she then quickly rummaged around for her carrying case—but instead decided to shove it down one of her pockets for now; she could deal with finding her own makeshift case later once the weather subsided a bit. Alright, time to search somewhere else… she thought with another serious look on her face as she then grabbed the shovel she’d just stabbed into the ground and then squared her shoulders before marching off into the howling weather—it definitely did not look to be relenting in any way, shape or form.
