Walking through the forest on the way to Verdanturf Town, Josh was whistling casually as he stared out at the trees. Walking beside him was his Pikachu, Lightning, who had evolved awhile back when he was surfing the seven seas with the red-haired maiden, on a giant fucking blue serpent that was ever-so-slightly retarded. Since then, he'd gotten himself a new team, and he was sure Yumi had as well. Josh pondered for a moment in his idle thoughts how she was doing... Actually, he wondered who she even was. He gauged a Trainer, but... Well, you couldn't judge simply by appearances. As far as he knew, she could be in some sort of super evil organization that killed people and locked people up and used assassins, and rockets... Maybe she could be some kind of agent that had a sudden behavior change when she was in agent mode and was super evil and stuff!
Yumi? Pfft, naw. What were the odds? She was a sweetheart.
For now though, Josh was focused on getting to town. How long had they been walking now? He knows. It'd been maybe a few days since the last town, maybe it was about time he invested in a Pokemon that could get him to towns faster... He wasn't cut out for walking for days and setting up camp every night. He could never sleep at night either when he did that, with all the Pokemon in the wild. He remembered waking up to an Ursaring just inches from attacking, before Lightning (Who he was lucky he had kept out of his ball to sleep with him) had stunned it so Josh's other Pokemon could be let out of their balls in order to scare it off.
"How bloody long does this forest go?" he muttered to himself as he looked around. "Pika-chu..." Lightning muttered, just as tired as his Trainer was. He sighed as he looked down at him. "Shouldn't be too long now, old buddy. After this forest, we should be at Verdanturf. We can get some rest and some food there"
It was odd though... They hadn't seen a wild Pokemon all day. But yet, Josh kept getting this creepy feeling, like they were being watched... Like something was organizing...

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Ah what a joy it is to finally have some freedom. I'll have to thank Aegis for accidentally hitting my pokeball later...a good few punches should please that little punching bag.~ Kee hee hee~
Though the verdanturf forests were not ful of the strongest pokemon, in fact it was quite a peaceful area, a zoroark was slipping through the bushes, jumping between the trees, quietly, carefully, stalking his prey. Anything he could dig his fangs into for a quick meal. A few tailow had caught his eye, but he left them and continued his hunt. They were too scrawny, he'd waste all his time getting the meat off their bones and end up leaving behind a half eaten corpse unsatisfied.
Picking up a familiar scent of a human he followed his nose along the ground, peering through the bushes at a human trainer and his little pikachu wandering along a worn out path. They were clearly lost. This town was only connected to one other, and the path was so short, and so WIDE it was nearly impossible to end anywhere else. A soft chuckle escaped him as he wondered if he could get away with this...one sharp claw accross the throat, pin down the pikachu under his paw...let him watch as he ate his trainer...the thought was so delicious he was already drooling. Now to just jump out and...
"Sam! Dazzling Gleam!" "Kir!"
All of a sudden Josh would have his path cut off my a zoroark being blasted out of the bushes by a blast of pinkish light, the dark type pokemon rolling to its feat and growling visciously at the Psychic fairy that stepped out after him, a Kirlia, soon followed by a red headed trainer.
"Bruce! You can hunt all you want but you do NOT track people!" Yumi, clearly having not realized Josh was the trainer she'd spotted, continued to scold the Zoroark, who hissed back and ran off into the bushes, leaving Yumi sighing with her hand covering her face in frustration. "He never learns..."
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 12, 2014 15:31:58 GMT -5
Whatever the feeling was, it seemed he was correct. A Zoroark would suddenly be blasted out of the bushes by a Kirlia. Lightning would instantly jump in front of his Trainer, his cheeks sparking as he watched. "PIKA!" he let out fiercely as they both prepared for trouble before a familiar face came out of the bushes to make it double.
".... Yumi?" he asked, blinking, as the redhead started scolding the Zoroark, before it ran off into the bushes. Apparently, it had plans to track him for some reason. That... Didn't sound good. She really had to be careful about letting a Pokemon like that run free. It was obvious it was incredibly dangerous.
Once the Zoroark had left, Josh and Lightning walked over, with Josh greeting Yumi with a smirk. "Well, pleasant surprise to see you here" he teased, grinning. "What brings you out into this neck of the woods?"
"Pi-Pi!" Lightning let out in greeting. That was the first time Josh had heard THAT one, he thought to himself, blinking. Maybe he was trying to say her name?

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi looked up as she heard her name, a part of her thinking Sam was wanting her attention again, but instead, a faimiliar face smiled to greet her, bringing a surprised chuckle from the red head as she waved somewhat awkwardly to the trainer she had met on the beach a few days ago. "Oh hey Josh! Fancy meeting you here...er..."
Yumi took a moment to look around. There weren't many attractions near verdanturf town, par perhaps the day care center, but that was on the main path! What on earth was Josh doing here? Yumi had been using Sam the Kirlia as an aid to hunt down Bruce before he did something she'd regret. Speaking of which, raising a finger quickly, she silenced anything he was about to say. "Hold that thought."
Bringing up one of her pokeballs, she quickly tossed out the water type within, a rare pokemon from the Kalos region, greninja, falling into the typical frog stance, but with his arms crossed rather than pressing against the ground. It was likely Josh hadn't seen this pokemon before, but Yumi wasn't exactly about to make a big to do about it, afterall she needed Jiraya to get moving. "Hey, you mind chasing Bruce? Keep him out of too much trouble? If he grabs a pidgey or something thats fine, just no trainers or their pokemon yeah?" The Ninja frog gave a quick nod, suddenly changing into a deep gren with lighter highlights, much like the camo pants of Lt. Surge from Kanto's army days. With swift kicks he darted where the Zoroark had gone, giving chase with stealthy precision in his movements.
Turning back to Josh with a hefty sigh, hoping Jiraya could manage bruce on his own, she ruffled her hair, thinking about what she was going to say, before catching lightning giving a cute little cry. "Heh, that was it, what are you two doing out here? Training? I mean the forest ain't exactly got much to explore if you ask me."
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 12, 2014 17:23:42 GMT -5
He smirked a bit as Yumi recognized him. He noticed the awkward stance, but didn't say anything. He did keep his guard up though, and sensing it, so did Lightning. Just in case, of course. He tilted his head when she suddenly burst out with "Hold that thought" though.
Josh's wondering was answered when she brought out some kind of ninja frog. A Pokemon Josh hadn't seen before. "Hm? What in the world is that?" he asked curiously, tilting his head as he watched the Greninja go after that crazed Zoroark of hers. His mind went back to that Zoroark again and Josh shook his head. Yeesh, and he thought he was having a hard time keeping control of Vulcan these days.
At her question, he chuckled a bit. "Uhh..... A little bit of two things, actually" he said, laughing sheepishly as he scratched his head. "We were looking for wild Pokemon to train on, but... We also got a little lost. We took a wrong turn and we've been out here for hours" he explained. "I didn't bring Ace with me as a guide since I sent him back to the Ranch to rest. He's deserved it since he's been on my team nonstop since I caught him a long time ago, before I even came to Hoenn" he explained.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi blinked when she heard Josh's question about her pokemon, looking down the path it took to chase her zoroark and giving a nervous chuckle. She forgot Kalos pokemon were not that widely spread a LOT more often than she probably should. Heck, she probably only forgot about the fact that mega pokemon were only supposed to be used in emergencies. Afterall, she didn't want everyone knowing about them now did she? It was one of the few advantages she had over more experienced trainers, and she continued to flaunt it in their faces, likely fueling them to find the power themselves.
"Oh, he was a Greninja, he's from a region a bit of the ways off from kanto and the others. Bit of a rare breed their too." Folding her arms accross her chest she couldn't help but chuckle a little as Josh explained his situation, rolling her eyes and smiling as she turned, motioning for him to follow. "Come on, I can remember the way back to town, I've been in forests so much that I've learned how to remember where I've been. Just stick with me and look out for pokemon, okay?"
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 12, 2014 17:52:10 GMT -5
Josh tilted his head when she seemed confused again for a moment. But she seemed to understand after a moment. Greninja she had called it. From a region just off Kanto.... Huh... Well, let's see... He'd only been to two regions since his old home, and that old home didn't have a particular set of starters... He knew from research though that in the group of regions that were around that he'd researched and been to, Kanto had Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.... Johto had Cyndaquil, Totodile and Chikorita... Hoenn had, of course, Torchic, Mudkip and Treeko... Sinnoh had Chimchar, Piplup and Turtwig, and Unova had Tepig, Oshawott and Snivy. These were Pokemon that were always given out to new Trainers, and were always considered rare Pokemon... Was this one one of them somewhere? But where?
Wait, Kalos... He'd heard of one. Fennekin. He remembered doing some research on Fennekin after a girl by the name of Amber was looking for one, Fennekin was one of the Pokemon given out by Professors to starting Trainers, but he couldn't find anything else on the others. He'd been to Kalos a few times... But hadn't seen anything that could be considered rare there. Maybe it was from there? Suppose he might as well ask. "Greninja wouldn't happen to be a rare Pokemon given out to Trainers in Kalos, would they? Or at least a rare Pokemon in general there?" he asked curiously. He knew about generally most rare Pokemon in the regions he'd researched, but Kalos still remained a very blank spot in his knowledge. He'd never heard of a "Greninja" in the nearby regions, so Kalos was a very likely possibility. Of course, it could also be one from any other region that he'd just missed, or even a new region entirely that Josh had never even seen before.
He laughed a bit and walked with her after her offer. "I suppose" he said as he let Lightning climb onto his shoulder. "I guess it's better then being stuck in here, aye?" he cracked. "So how have you been since I saw you last, Yumi?" he asked curiously. "And how's Norris?"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
As Yumi started leading the group out of the forest she listeneto josh's questions. All the while Sam, the shiny kirlia beside her, was keeping an eye out for any wild pokemon that may come to harm them. He was much different from many of her evo line. Typically calm, caring, and protective of their trainers, Sam had little care for Yumi herself, but the Kirlia only sought to protect his family, a farther who was still a ralts, and a younger sister, also a ralts. To any trainers, including Josh, he probably looked like the most angsty Kirlia in existance.
"Oh Jiraya isn't that rare...I mean well, my one is ESPECIALLY rare for reasons I'd rather not get into, but you could probably find one of his line on any average safari run. Why? You interested in catching one?" Yumi purposely glanced over the mention of Greninja being a "starter" pokemon. It was not a term she'd come accross, what with having her first pokemon choose her so to speak during her time in Unova. "As far as how I've been, times have been good. My job seems to be looking to give me a rise soon so thats good news. Norris is good too, Chuck, that Golduck I told you about? He's teaching the guy how to fight and it seems to be going well. How about you? Lightning used to being a pikachu?"
As they walked, Sam spotted a Wurmple in a nearby tree, stopping as the rest continued on, watching the wurmple seem to tease the group by turning to wiggle it's rear in their faces rather arrogantly. Not the type to put up with such an insult, a simple snap of his fingers sent the Wurmple flying into the nearest tree as it would feel a psychic backhand slap it accross the face.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 14, 2014 22:03:41 GMT -5
Josh noted the rather cold and grumpy demeanor of the Kirlia. A bit unusual for a Kirlia, by what he'd seen... But he didn't bother thinking about how Yumi might have raised it. All Pokemon had different personalities, he supposed.
"Hmm..." he mused as she spoke about Greninja. Apparently you could find it in the Safari Zone, despite it's rarity? He'd have to take a trip there soon enough, he supposed, huh? "Yeah, I'd love to catch one" he said with a small smile. "It looks really cool" he added. "Pika Pika!" Lightning chimed in.
"Your... Job?" he asked, eying her curiously. He assumed she was a Pokemon Trainer... What WAS she, exactly? "And what exactly do you do for a living? I figured you for a Pokemon Trainer" he admitted, raising an eyebrow. Now he was curious... Maybe a bit suspicious.
He smiled a bit after though. "Glad to hear you're doing well" he said. "Might need to try and keep in touch after this so we don't have to constantly update one another everytime we see each other on the road randomly" he joked with a smirk. He chuckled as she spoke of Norris, and nodded. "Chuck and Norris, huh? Sounds like a dynamic duo. I kept one of the Gyarados we caught way back when, actually" he said. "For some reason, when I brought him out of his Pokeball though, he was red. Not sure why, exactly. But it happened"
"Lightning's fine" he said, smiling as he petted the head of the Pikachu, who let out a "Chaaaa~" as the blonde's fingers moved to his chin and stroked his chin, loving the attention his Trainer was giving him. "He's adjusted quite well... Except the one time he shocked me shortly after learning Thunderbolt. That's... Going to take some getting used to" he admitted. He noticed from the corner of his eye as the Wurmple in the trees mocked them, before being blasted off by the Kirlia. That didn't go unnoticed though, as a Shroomish would suddenly leap over their heads from the trees and sprinkle down a purple powder that Josh recognized with a look of horror. Quickly, he'd grab Yumi by the shoulders, shouting "Kirlia, back up quickly!" and back up lickity split, just out of the way of the Poison Powder that had almost gotten them. Letting go of Yumi, he looked up at the Shroomish who was standing with it's stubby form on a tree branch. He didn't look happy.
Josh sighed and took a Pokeball off his belt before tossing it. "Go, Fawkes!" he said as a Charmander emerged from the Pokeball. "Char, Char!" Fawkes let out as Josh pointed up to the angry Shroomish. "Fawkes, use Ember!" he immediately commanded. "CHAR!" Fawkes let out as he shot out an array of red hot particles that soared in the direction of the Shroomish, who would leap off the branch and to another.
"Follow it with Ember, Fawkes!" Josh immediately called as Fawkes adjusted his aim to follow the Shroomish, who would keep leaping from one tree branch to another to escape the Ember. Josh had to think quickly...
"Fake it out, Fawkes! Fake it out!" he called. Fawkes would shoot out Ember in one direction, just barely missing the Shroomish, causing it to jump back. "Hit it now!" Josh commanded as Fawkes would unleash Ember at the Shroomish while it was in mid-air. It would score a direct hit and cause it to crash to the ground. The Shroomish wouldn't be down long though as it would suddenly lash out at Fawkes and hit the Charmander with Tackle. Josh gritted his teeth and pointed to it. "Fire Fang!" Josh called out as the Charmander's mouth would flare, slamming the Shroomish with a hard fang attack, flames laden from it adding to the damage as the Shroomish flies back and smacks into the tree. "Finish it, Fawkes, Dragon Rage!" he called out.
"CHARRRR!" Fawkes let out as a large burst of fire in the shape of an X shoots from it's body and slams itself into the Shroomish, sending it crashing THROUGH the tree and flying through the forest.
Josh chuckled and patted his Charmander on the head. "Good job, Fawkes. Good job" he complimented. "Good fight, you're getting the hang of it" he said with a small smile. "Char Char!" Fawkes chirped in response happily, overjoyed to hear praise.
He looked back at Yumi and smiled. "This is my Charmander by the way... Fawkes, meet Yumi. Yumi, Fawkes"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Woah!" Yumi suddenly felt herself pulled back as a cloud of purple smoke covered the path she was standing on just a second ago. She looked to Josh, somewhat thankful that he'd managed to get her out of there, looking back to Sam who had quickly stepped back from the cloud, watching the released charmeleon take on the grass type, somewhat impressed despite the type difference.
When the matter was settled, Yumi turned her eyes to the Charmeleon, dusting the small amount of poison pouder that had got on her shorts away with the sleeve of her shirt. As soon as she was introduced to the fire type, she thought for a moment, smiling as she reached for one of her pokeballs. "Hey Fawkes. Maybe you'd like to meet enzo?" Not waiting for a yes or no, she clicked her pokeball open, sending out a charizard, seemingly much larger than average, and a deep scar, seemingly from a bite mark, on the left side of his neck. He folded his arms and smiled proudly, seeming to hold the weight of a mature, father like persona. "Char!~" "I thought he may like to see what he could grow into.~"
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 17, 2014 1:59:21 GMT -5
"Char?" he said curiously as Yumi spoke to him and fished for a Pokeball. Enzo, who was that? Fawkes would find out soon enough. Out came a humongous 8-foot Charizard. Josh couldn't help but whistle. "Whew, what have you been feeding this one?" he asked, chuckling.
"Char, Char!" Fawkes let out excitedly. He was going to get THAT big? Well, maybe not.... But who knows? On Josh's end though, he had noticed that Fawkes was a little... Bigger then most Charmander. Maybe Yumi would know something about it, seeing as her own Charizard had a nice growth spurt?
"He looks quite excited to say the least" he said with a chuckle as the Charmander stared up at the Charizard. "I'm sure he's going to love being able to fly"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi smiled, proud of the titanic fire type that stood beside her. Enzo was one of her oldr pokemon, and one tendeto look after the youngins. Given a younger charmander something to look forward to probably made his day. "Enzo here is a rather large example, heh heh, but yeah, this at least gives your charmander an idea of what he'll grow up to be if you train him well enough.~
Unnoticed by Yumi as she had her conversation, Sam wandered off into the nearby forest, his psychic connection with his trainer ensuring her wouldn't get lost as he ventured further. He wanted to see if he could find anything to practice on while Yumi was busy waisting her time. With a sigh he seemed to be coming up with only insects, mumbling under his breath in frustration as it always took just a simple wave of his hand to blast them with a psychic and KO them.
"Kirl..." Blinking, something seemed to catch Sam's eye, a pulsing light in the distance, drawing closer, his psychic abilities pushing branches and twigs out of his way, a bug was revealed to produce the light. A volbeat it would seem. "Kirl." Deciding he might as well do something, the Kirlia called out to challenge the bug. Not wasting a second, the light producing pokemon jumped from its tree, its wings taking it to bump heads with the Kirlia, growling with a zen headbutt. Of course, being strong to this, Sam was hardly ammused, and unleashed a dazzling gleam to blast the Volbeat away, the bug type slamming against a tree with an easy faint. A small sigh escaped Sam, as he wished something in these forests could pose a challenge.
