"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Back in the badlands once again Yumi had started taking a more relaxed approach to her searches. It was nicer, and it gave her the sense that she was getting so much more worth out of her time here. As things had been going, she'd send two pokemon out to hunt for the new stones, be it Ko-ken and tequill, or Johnny and Jimmy from the last hunt. This week, she'd see if her two keen eyed birds, Niko and Vashi could handle it. One one of her shoulders stood the Murkrow, and to balance it out, the rufflet rested on the other.
"Okay, you guys know what your looking for right? And remember, you find any pokemon, don't be afraid to get some training in.~" The two birds gave a quick nod, chirping happily, bringing a small smile to Yumi's lips as she shrugged her shoulders and made them take flight over the desert lands. "Remember! I'll be right here!~"
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC CROWN ! A crown made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price. ( Post a Mod Summons to exchange this for •30 )

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With the birds flying over the badlands, they each kept a keen eye on the ground below, searching for any gem they could grab and take home for an easy trip, but sadly, these gems were scarce, and not the easiest things to spot either. Soon enough, Niko decided that just flying like this was not a good use of their time, and looked to the rufflet by his side.
"I suggest we practice Vashi. Your claws have been growing dull." "Heh, and your any better old man? Yumi hasn't used your advice for weeks. At least I'm still allowed to go on berry hunting trips." "Fine. I supose we won't do training that will allow you to grow closer to evolution. I mean its not like as soon as your big enough to ride Yumi will put you to more use..." "...Find us some prey gramps..."
With a victorious grin, knowing his words were enough to beat most of his team mates in a battle of wits, Niko turned his eyes to finding a pokemon instead as Vashi continued searching for the stones. Though he had spotted a pokemon rather quickly, he had to double take, nearly mistaking it for a rock, but realized it was a shuckle soon after. "I have something. Follow." Dropping into a dive, her activated his tailwind, giving him and his partner the advantage as they flew towards the Shuckle, allowing them to get the upper hand in speed far more than they already did.
"Shuckle are pretty bulky. Barrage it with everything you have." And with that, Niko did not waste a second, firing shadow balls as rapidly as he could. Spotting the eminant danger, the shuckle dove into its shell, trying its best to take the damage. But as the shadow balls hit his shell one after another, it was not going to take long to widdle him down.
"Got it gramps!" Flying faster than the murkrow beside him, the rufflet brought himself into a strong brave bird, hitting the shall as hard as he could, trying to crush it with the impact force and the power of his crush claw, trying to destroy it with all his force. Feeling his shell begin to crack, the shuckle burst his head out, hoping to whip around and attack his assailant, only to have Niko land upon his head, pushing it into the floor.
"Well. See what happens when you follow orders?" "Shut it gramps."
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC BAND ! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"So you knew the way to take down one pokemon." Vashi, still mumbling, landed in an open space on the badlands open pass, flicking out his wing as if dismissing the idea that Niko was that much better than him. "You've been traveling longer than me. If I was your age I'd know that stuff too!"
Of course Niko couldn't help but laugh, he knew full well Vashi would never admit that he was not the best flying type on Yumi's team. Niko held pride in the fact that title was rightfully his own of course, even if he did have to show fealty to the more draconic fliers. "Oh come now, if you keep acting like that around me you won't learn a thing. Now, we're meant to be keeping an eye out for gems yes? I recall that being your job, I'm on the look out for pokemon to pit you against." "You mean pokemon you can use to test me, correct?"
Even as the two were prepared to argue, the earth began to shake beneath them, and as if treating it like a minor inconveniance, they gave a hard flap of their wings and hovered above the ground as it cracked and fissured beneath the, their eyes turning to the source as they watched a hippowdown pat the earth, as if wondering why his one hit kill move had not worked on his targets.
"Can we help you?" "I don't think we need an answer to figure out what he wanted..."
The two birds waisted no time in setting off for the hippowdown, a blue aura covering Vashi as he tucked in his wings and dove straight for his opponent with a brave bird, slashing through it with all his strength, only for Niko to come up behind and bombard the hippowdown with shadow balls, knocking it out and leaving the birds to glare at eachother once more.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RARE BONE ! A bone that is extremely valuable for Pokémon archeology. It can be sold for a high price to shops. Because it's a Medieval sports whistle. ( Post a Mod Summons to exchange this for •15 )

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Sandshrew, off to the right."
Vashi sighed as he kept his eyes to his own section of the ground below. They had yet to find an actual stone, and so had instead just continued to search. Very little was actually going on beneath them, and thus they had just been battling pokemon that found, trying to strengthen themselves and break up the time flying, but right now, Vashi decided to ignore Niko, and focus on searching for the stones.
"Vashi, we agreed that we'd try and at least get something done during our time here." "And we also agreed that we'd search for the stones. At this point if we continue to battle pokemon, we're just wasting time. I say we keep out eyes open, search for these stones and move on."
Niko paused for a moment, before changing his flight path, turning back for the sandshrew he had managed to spot. "Fine. You may continue your search, it just means I'll evolve first."
For a moment, vashi flew on, refusing to reply to that, knowing full well he'd just be playing into Niko's hands, but, at the thought of that old coot achieveing evolution before him, his flight path swiftly changed to follow, flapping his wings hard to catch up. "Not on your life!"
Niko had a small smile on his beak as he heard vashi call from behind, swooping in lower and lifting up his claws to strike at the Sandshrew, who lifted his head to the sound of the air disturbance around the approaching Murkrow. At the last minute he swung his arm, releasing a poison sting only for Niko to pull in his talons for a swift dodge instead, flying past the sandwhrew with a strong aerial ace striking accross the back of the ground type.
Even as the Sandshrew was recoiling from the searing pain of the cut now on his back, his head was knocked against the hard ground with a great force, Vashi having decided to come in with a sky drop from the apex of his flight, pushing its head down into the ground as he glared at Niko.
"There. We can continue searching."
Niko only let out a gentle chuckle. "Whatever you wish."

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
The two birds had taken a break, landing somewhere nice and open with no sign of wild pokemon that could jump them. Their wings needed a rest and they couldn't just fly all day long. As Niko rubbe his sore wing with the tip of his beak, his eyes glancing up at Vashi, who was clearly sore too, but simply ruffled his feathers as if to shrug it off. The poor boy didn't know when to rest. Admittadly, Vashi was a very good fighter, and a great part of the team in Niko's eyes, but it seemed whenever the two got together, Vashi became incredibly cold towards him, as if something the black bird did had made the rufflet hold a grudge. If only he knew what...
"So, we're moving over to search near the caves next right?" "That would be correct Vashi."
With a gentle sigh he gave his wings a shake to ensure he was okay to fly without issue, feeling pretty up for another search, and about to take off when the earth around him seemed to vanished, replaced by a terrific maw of a Trapinch that wrapped around his legs, sqwuaking out in shock and pain as he flapped quickly, hoping he could break free before it truly locked down.
"VASHI!"
The rufflet wasn't exactly born yesterday. The moment he heard the struggle he had turned, and his talons were burning with power. A quick crush claw was jabbed into the trapinch's lower jaw, forcing it to eat the pain until it released and vanished under the earth again, releasing the Murkrow who fell down, his legs feeling crushed and full of pain, the Ruffelt rushing over with care that didn't seem to be there before, resting a wing over his back.
"You okay Niko?" "Heh...first time you didn't call me old man...yes I'm fine."
The black bird slowly climbed back to his legs, but looked around, prepared for the Trapinch to re-appear at any moment. "So...I suppose I owe you one don't I?" "Don't mention it...seriously." Vashi looked around, equally prepared, ready for the trapinch to strike again. Before they knew it the earth beneath them began to cave in again, but this time they were prepared and took to the air, Niko flinging out a shadow ball as they fled, and watching as the Trapinch once again scurried underground.
"Any plan here Niko? He seems to be sticking underground." "Not much comes to mind surprisingly...what say we try and rip him out next time we see him?" The Rufflet simply nodded in response, prepared for a fight as they landed again, purposely moving away from eachother so the Trapinch could only target one of them. In time the Trapinch resurfaced and tried to make a grab for the Rufflet this time around, and before his maw could clamp down, Niko was straight in there, wrapping his talons around its lower maw and pulling it into the air, flinging it further above his head and assaulting it with shadow balls until it fainted, landing beside Vashi and stretching his wings as the Trapinch fell beside them.
For a moment, the two shared a moment of silence. At one point each had saved the other from the jaws of a trapinch, and in fitting with Yumi's goofy team, there was only one thing they could say to one another.
