It seemed that he was very determined to teach the large cannon-bearing turtle how to dig, one way or another. It was like that water-walking escapade that he tried with his old Ponyta months ago, or so they’ve heard. Hydros, in the meantime, looked very pale and twitchy compared to his normal cool and calm countenance. He couldn’t be blamed for looking that way because this was the first time he had ever witnessed Zernebog’s training mania in full force. It can be quite overwhelming for the newbies or for the young ones, and the Blastoise was still technically both of those things. Poor sap. ”Now, the three of you get back to digging while me and Hydros here continue training.” Zernebog barked as he cracked his knuckles, forcing the trio to suppress another round of snickers while a violent shiver crept up Hydros’ spine. He was starting to regret agreeing to this training. However, it was too late to take it back now. Zernebog wasn’t the type to accept someone backing out… ever. Well, apparently almost ‘ever’ according to some of Zernebog’s older pokemon but even they’re mum on just what it was they were talking about when they said that they’ve seen him back down from something. Running away, he could understand because that’s a tactical retreat, but actually backing down with no intention of coming back and finishing things? Now that was just different. So as the three others disappeared into the soil, Hydros could only steel himself. Hell was about to begin. ”Time to start again, Hydros~ You know the drill.” Well, at least Erebus wasn’t here to act as motivator. He might not survive if that were the case. One of them happened to be Achilles, who was cheerfully digging through the dirt with a speed and precision that one would usually associate with master swordsmen. It was no joke when they say that digging is in a Garchomp’s blood. It’s more than that, in fact. It is their very life when they’re not battling. It’s like a Murkrow’s obsession with shiny things, really… something that the share with the black-feathered buzzards. Now though, it was as if fortune herself was smiling down upon him because the purple dragon finally came across a green and red marble-like orb. It was dusty as heck, but the dragon’s eye for shiny things as well as the strange vibe the item gave off was enough to spur the dragon into action, taking it into his jaws and making a beeline for the place where he could still feel the Blastoise trying to dig through the earth with some form of grace.
