"Ace Duo Tiffany and Al have challenged you to a battle!"
Taunting the Dragonite would ensure that it wouldn't use Dragon Dance for a bit, but it had earned its ire. The Smack Down attack was unsuccesful; in fact, it was such a set back that Al could only grimace as the concrete slab was broken into bits from the force of the attack. Shit, that was quite a setback - his Conkledurr would be upset over the fact that one of his hand-sculpted items had been destroyed. "Lightning rod, Conkledurr!" The fighting type took his last pillar and smashed it down in front of him, digging ever so slightly into the ground before he charged the hand holding it fist a fist full of electricity, charging the entire pillar and creating a current that dispersed into the ground - this helped disperse some of the damage as the powerful Thunder smashed him, leading it off into the pillar rather than his feet. It still hurt like a bitch.
Whatever the fact was, it came down to Conkledurr being on the ground and the rest of the combat being in the air... "Al, use the artillery tactic." Al nodded, knowing that Tiffany must have been planning something as he whistled loudly, Conkledurr nodding. Tiffany focused up on her Talonflame, who had a successful if not painful collision with the large bat. "Talonflame, down! Rest!" The flaming bird dipped, its wing tips giving off little embers into the rain as she dived down to the ground, landing on an edge of the statue for a moment, wings folding in in a Roost move, the injuries from the electrical impact healing off ofher.
The Noivern was coming back for another electric attack, but they were all prepared. Conkledurr had used its proximity to the wall to its advantage, slamming a heavy empty fist into the wall, sending an energy shockwave up - all of the loose rubble on the ceiling and walls fell, the Rock Slide attack covering the berth of the arena and threatening to pound the Noivern and Dragonite with a wave of jagged stones. Talonflame was prepped; both to dodge the rocks and to dodge the Noivern, she fired off a Quick Attack, darting in odd wheeled motions to keep a speedy dodging pattern up for the duration of the Rock Slide attack.

”Interesting.”
Golden eyes watched with a little amusement as the Conkledurr grounded the Thunder attack to reduce some of the damage. That was an interesting strategy. Might be useful in the future for Rion or somebody else weak to Electric.
Those same eyes lit up with even more amusement when he saw the Conkledurr bash the wall and make rocks fall down from the ceiling. Did it really think that something like that would work on Iris? Time to teach this one the error of his ways. Painfully.
”Iris, clear and blow.” Zernebog grinned as he watched water cover his Dragonite’s tail again even before he finished speaking. Now he was glad that this one learned a little bit of initiative.
With an almost cruel and spiteful grin, she twisted in mid-air and then whipped her tail around and cleared her area of rocks with ease, uncaring of her supposed partner. Then her wings started to beat with a quick, vigorous ferocity that matched the rumbling from the artificial storm clouds above. Immediately, extremely powerful gale force winds appeared and started to batter the entire battlefield like the powerful Hurricane that it was.
Now they get to feel the spiteful rage of a dragoness scorned. This should teach them a lesson in trying to challenge him while he was on a quest for knowledge. At the very least, this should hit the Conkledurr HARD.
NOTES
Battle Summary: Dragonite uses Aqua Tail to block Rock Slide and then fires Hurricane at both Talonflame and Conkledurr, with Noivern as collateral damage.

Yumi's eyes had turned from the skies and was now looking towards the battle on the ground. The conkledurr through out a surprising tactic she'd have to remember for the future. The dragonite was certainly impressive in itself, the way it threw it's power behind it's tail was certainly surprising for what she had known as one of the lesser used dragon types, a small grin forming on the red head's lips as she finally turned her eyes back to the sky. A tumble of earth seemed to come from the inside walls of the tower as her own pokemon dove down, still surging with energy.
"Rodriigez! Agility!"
The dragon screeched proudly, knowing this marked the max of his speed. With the rocks still falling around him, he pulled his goggles over his eyes, suddenly unleashing a huge range of arial tricks, flying backwards, swirling dives, near ninety degree turns mid flight in an attempt to avoid the rocks. Sadly his own electrical charge quickly dissipated, and Yumi was more than a little annoyed to see the talonflame zip past them. She was about to issue a new command when the falling rocks were suddenly caught up in a huge hurricane unleashed by the tiny wings of the dragonite. Was he mad!? Her pokemon was still out there, and with the rain beating down on it's wings it was hardly able to fly through the encroaching storm.
However, something did come to mind....the storm would certainly take it's tole on the conkledurr, and Yumi decide she'd be the one to finish it off. "Rigez! You good!?" The draconic bat, still swirling around as the hurricane came to a halt, slowly nodded, shaking off any dizzy feeling in his head and grinning towards his trainer. "Good! Get that Conkledurr while it's dazed!" "Noi noi!" He was quick to comply, rushing down towards the conkledurr, throwing out his wings and throwing an air slash at the fighter, using his penultimate speed to try and catch it off guard.
Notes: Hp: 50% Used agility spd+ 6 (MAX) Used air slash on conkledurr.
"Ace Duo Tiffany and Al have challenged you to a battle!"
Tiffany squinted into the rain storm as both of the enemy air threats used their enhanced statistics to deal with the barrage of rocks raining from the ceiling. It was going to be no good, now; those two were going to be too much trouble to deal with at this point. Tiffany nudged Al, giving him the nod to let him know that it was probably coming to a close, soon. Al shook his head against what she said, refusing to believe it. "Conkledurr, you've got this!" At least, that was how he felt before the raging winds of the Hurricane ripped into the area.
Both combatants were blasted around by the raging winds, and Conkledurr took the worst of it as the razor winds ate into his body, leaving deep gashes from where the high speeds whipped into him. Tiffany reacted for her stunned partner, issuing an order to both of the Pokemon. "Talonflame, repeat! Conkledurr, brace yourself for impact!" The Talonflame took on the demoninal glow before whipping her wings forth, shooting back the same Hurricane attack at the field as had been used on them before, and while it seemed like a bad move on their part, Conkledurr was ready this time.
The Detect attack wasn't the most viable, as it took some degree of forewarning to use, but Conkledurr was prepared to use it as his eyes glowed, allowing him to sustain and sidestep the Air Slash at the last second, then slamming up a Stone Edge attack in front of him to act as a makeshift shield against the high majority of the winds from Talonflame, both of the stone pillars he had erected helping to weather the raging storm all around. It wasn't perfect, but it was a hell of a lot better than taking a Hurricane to the face - plus, having a wall to one side and a makeshift wall to the other helped him for this moment, even if it was a brief respite.

"Talonflame, repeat! Conkledurr, brace yourself for impact!"
The very instant Zernebog heard the first sentence he scowled and looked around very quickly after quietly filing away the fact that the girl seemed to be the one in control. Once he found what he was looking for, he quickly issued his next orders just as the girl started to end hers.
”Fade away 8!” Zernebog’s voice rang clearly through the wind.
In response, Iris’ form glowed white before suddenly disappearing from sight in a burst of pure unadulterated speed. Suddenly, a white glowing form reappeared behind the Conkledurr, somehow only rustling a very small amount of wind in the process, some that could be explained away as the bird attempting the Hurricane imitation. She then crouched behind the Conkledurr and its barrier, hoping that it wouldn’t detect her.
However, just in case it did detect her then she knew she had the advantage in here even though she was taller and bulkier. Zernebog and her dad taught her how to read movements and she knew exactly how her opponent moved and maneuvered. The very instant it tried something, then it was getting an Aqua Tail while it was still turning around. She was certainly fast enough to do it before it can get off anything.
Therefore she spent the new few moments weathering the storm inside the Conkledurr’s barrier with a water-covered tail at the ready to smash the Conkledurr at any time and end it the minute it did something wrong or even just breathed wrong, waiting until it ended. If the Conkledurr did nothing by the time it ended, then she was going to smash it out of its barriers with her Aqua Tail anyway.
Yes, there was no winning with this angry dragoness today. Not at all.
NOTES
Battle Summary: Dragonite uses uses Extremespeed to rush towards the Conkledurr's barrier zone before the Talonflame launches Me First. Then she hides there and will attack Conkledurr if it tries attacking her. Once the storm ends and it hasn't attacked her, then she will smash it out of its barriers with that Aqua Tail.

ANOTHER Hurricane? Jeeze these guys were not letting up. Yumi debated using her Noivern's maxed speed to get in the same hiding spot everyone else was using, but, instead, she decided she's use the chaos to her advantage. Rodrigez was never her most apt fighter, but she knew well enough that he had the potential of the two moves she had in her head. One of them they had been practicing for a while now, of course that would come first, just to make sure it was done.
"Rodrigez! Fly up to the statue's head and laydown the meteors!"
For a moment, the dragon gave a quizzical look, unsure that he had heard that order correctly, but, as Yumi gave him a confident smile to reassure him, he gave one in return, trying his best to fight the gale force winds and reach the top of the mighty Lucario statue, wrapping his talons around it's snout and letting out an almighty screech as a ball of energy formed at it's maw, rearing it's head back and blasting it up into the sky. The mass of energy dispersed as soon as it hit the ceiling, raining down in the form of the almighty dragon attack, draco meteor, using the still spinning winds of the hurricane to rain down in a spiral pattern, hopefully hitting the targets below.
"Now, copy what that bird did and take a rest! We need you in top form!"
Rodrigez quickly nodded, laying down his body atop the snout of the statue and relaxing his muscles.
Notes: HP: 25% before roost. Now 75% Used draco meteor, though the winds of hurricane made it fall in a spiral. STAB power 195, falling with max speed. (DODGE THAT!) Used roost Spd + 6 SPATK - 2
"Ace Duo Tiffany and Al have challenged you to a battle!"
Conkledurr never really stood a chance. His barrier had just been freshly up when the Dragonite swooped in to join him in refuge, and while the wailing of the storm had been enough to keep him hunkered down for the moment, the second the winds let up he went to pivot and smash the royal queen of the storms with a powerful slugging Ice Punch, but only got so far as to turn before the Aqua Tail attack smashed into the Fighting-type and sent him crashing through his own Stone Edge attack, knocking him flat into the middle of the floor after a painful skid.
It looked pretty bad for the high flying Talonflame as well as it moved into dive at the perching Dragonite, only to find itself unable to dodge the incoming Draco Meteor attack in the whipping winds; in favorable conditions, perhaps it could have, but its Tailwind had sputtered out and left it without room to maneuver, letting the orb of dragonic energy smash right into her and send her all the way to the ground, wings clipped.
Al and Tiffany were the picture perfect example of miserable - Tiffany because she had warned Al about this, Al because his macho man Conkledurr was now currently knocked out on the floor before them. He tore into his hair with his hands, stomping down. "Conkledurr, get up, right now!" The unmoving fighting type let out a groan of pain, the indicator that it was unable to continue. Tiffany, while seeing that her Talonflame was still able to fly, knew that without her partner, the battle was over. She recalled her Pokemon and forced Al to do the same, and when he stomped off upstairs to mope she walked forward to the challengers.
"Well done, you two. You may proceed to the top to speak with the master. If you'll just follow me..." At this, Tiffany pulled her blonde hair back and led them to the mighty staircase, eager to lead them up it...

As presumptuous as it might have seemed, Zernebog couldn’t help but think that the battle was finally winding down. He didn’t know if it was the rain finally stopping after raging on for what seemed like forever, the last blast of tumultuous winds from the intriguing firebird finally dying down, or the same firebird crashing to the floor after it was ravaged by a different kind of rain that lit up the battlefield in a breathtakingly beautiful glow for a few moments, but there was a sense of finality that he could feel in his bones.
Whatever doubts he might have had about this feeling started to evaporate when the Conkledurr’s body flew out of its stone barriers, sending it skidding across the floor before landing in the middle with what sounded like an agonizing thud. Despite the boy’s insistence that it get up, it was no longer able to do to, so Iris did not concern herself with it any longer and neither did Zernebog.
Iris then directed her attention to the Talonflame, fully prepared to break that and beat it into the ground too, only to be halted when Zernebog raised his hand. The reason became apparent a moment later when Tiffany recalled the pokemon and forced Al to do the same for his. He then gestured for Iris to return to his side, which she did with a single flap of her wings taking her to the skies and pushing her towards his form.
Once she was hovering above him, Zernebog glanced at Al as he stomped upstairs before directing his attention to the little ring leader. ”Alright.”
Despite the smirk on his face, Zernebog was still on alert. He didn’t know if this was a trick or not, but he had no choice but to follow. ”Then lead the way.” With that said, both Zernebog and Iris began to follow her up the massive staircase without waiting to see if the redhead was going to follow them. He had a feeling that she would do it without his prompting so he didn’t bother.

Yumi was more than happy to see that the draco meteor plan had worked. More than that, Rodrigez was well rested and already flying down, giving the bird he had been doing battle with a small poke to make sure it was out cold before it was returned anyway, screeching happily as he slinked over to Yumi's side, doing their happy little victory dance together, his wings and torso swinging side to side as Yumi shook her hips with a little wave of her hands. "We woooon! Oh yeah we wooooooon!" She was clearly not giving the best impression of "wisdom" and " skill" to the two people who were meant to be testing her.
Soon enough her ears perked up the the fact that they should be moving, and Rodrigez was quick to follow as Yumi ran after them up the stairs, quickly passing the white haired trainer and sliding up behind Al and Tiffany as they climbed the steps, Rodrigez flying beside the winding stair case up the tower. "So, where are you taking us?"
The entire battle had been watched from above, even if Yumi and Zernebog were unawares of his prescence - understandable given his ability to blend in and the fact that he resided high above, halfway up the tower, watching from the staircase. A small series of 'ohohohs' escaped from his lips as he watched the two defeat some of his pupils, running a hand over the railing. Yes, this was going to be an interesting series of events.
Tiffany, meanwhile, lead the two upstairs. Slowly but surely they ascended, Tiffany keeping perfect posture as each footstep fell upon the old stone beneath her - old, yet somehow new all at once. This entire tower held an eerie mixture of age and excitement, from everything to the design of the stairs to the way the Lucario-like statue seemed to stair down at them at all times - not in condescension, but in respect.
Yumi's question didn't go unanswered - before she set off for the stairs, Tiffany had merely stated "The master of the tower will wish to see you," and carried on as if that was enough of an answer, ignoring anything else they had to say. All would be answered soon enough. A full flight of stairs would be climbed before they reached an area akin to a library - an alcove in the tower's wall, brimming with bookshelves and a single table with four seats - one of which was across from the group and filled. An elderly man had his hand on the cover of a book, touching the spine with a single finger as he looked up at his guests.
"You must be the ones who gave Al and Tiffany their daily lessons - good, good, good to see you've come." He gestured to the two seats in front of him, looking them over. "A tad young, I must say, but I'm sure you're here to learn just as much as everyone else. Your experience as trainers tells me that you two might happen to know a great deal - including the subject of evolution. Take a look." At this, the older man flipped open the book, showing that it was facing so that they could see it from their side of the table. It had an old but simple illustration of what looked to be a smalled Pokemon changing shape into a larger one, vaguely similar to how a Rhyhorn and Rhydon looked today.
"As we learn and grow with our Pokemon, so do they - the process of evolution is still studied in full as we speak. and there's a lot we don't know. However, one thing that is widely known is that a Pokemon often reaches a final stage in life where they have fully evolved." The old man let there be a moment of silence before lightly chuckling. "But, once an athlete has trained all his life, can he still not break his own records? Can the runner still beat his best time, and can the Pokemon trainer still strive to become stronger? Much like we can break through our limits, so can Pokemon."
He turned a few pages until they reached another picture - this one decidely of Lucario. "Lucario have long been important to Shalour City. Before this Tower was founded, people and their Lucario discovered something magnificent - a way to temporarily transcend the boundaries of evolution!" At this, the old man gave a wide grin, like a kid showing off a new toy. He turned the page, once more showing off an illustration of what looked like... marbles?
"These... these are the tools. A Mega Stone, and a Key Stone." As he spoke, he pointed out each on the page. "The Key Stone is worn by the trainer, and the Mega Stone synchronizes with it. The Key Stone harnesses the bond of the trainer with his Pokemon in a wavelength, resonating with the Mega Stone - and therefore, the corresponding Pokemon they have a bond with. This allows for the Pokemon to achieve... Mega Evolution."
Dramatic pause. "Now, there is a lot we are still learning, children... not all stones work with all Pokemon, and finding these stones is no easy task... the bond between the Pokemon and the Trainer is also one that must be great. Not just any Pokemon and Trainer will do." His tone changed briefly to one of a stern lesson, a warning to be heeded. "The statue that serves as the centerpiece to this tower is modeled after the Mega Evolution of a Lucario - as you can see, the changes can be drastic, and often serves to bring out the best of the traits the Pokemon has to offer."
"The change is temporary, however - the energy drain is too much for both Pokemon and Trainer to handle for long, and the stones themselves can only resonate for so long before they risk damage. Normally, I could offer an example, but... well, she is away for the time being. You will simply have to seek out the items needed for Mega Evolution yourself."
Another pause as he closed the book with a smile. "That said, if either of you finds the necessary equipment later on, feel free to return and I'll help in any way - though, if I might add, sometimes the best lessons are the ones we teach ourselves."

OOC: Congratulations, mission accomplished as far as I am concerned. You have been taught about Mega Evolution and the necessity of the stones, plus the bonds required to achieve such an effect. Feel free to reply, or to submit this mission for official mod grading.
