“Quick Attack? Oh Momo, get ready, go use your Toxic status-change attack first, and then charge up with Calm Mind!” she called out, skidding into position; as another ‘mon appeared from Bunji’s hands; and she was surprised to see that it was apparently the grown-up version of what looked related to the Egg she had in her possession at the moment. “And dodge as much as you can,” she added; hoping that Claire’s lessons would come in handy at this point; because this was going to get interesting! “Kirlia, ki!” came the reply from somewhere up front, and after a twirl and a spin, a sudden pool of purple-colored liquid appeared in-between the distance where this Quilava (as she now knew the name) was running across—would it skid in the puddle and get affected? One could only wait and see!
After the puddle of purple appeared between herself and Bun, Momo quickly quieted down—as if she was about to doze off—but in reality she was centering herself and she then felt a new power surge through her. Nodding once this was done, Izumi quickly followed it up with, “Now, show Bunji what you’re made of… Confusion attack on the incoming Quilava, now!” she pointed, and then the space around Momo’s front warped and distorted, before a shimmering blob of energy materialized from out of nowhere and quickly raced through the air, in an attempt to make the incoming Quilava stop in its tracks and hopefully skid across the puddle of what she knew was the Toxic attack.
--Toxic, Calm Mind (sp.atk / sp.def +1), Confusion--
Bunji watched as Momo oozed a pool of poison from her body aimed to cover the ground between herself, and Quilava, Bunji would react quickly ”Quilava, steer to the right away from the puddle!” with that the fire type used all her might to force herself to the far right, avoiding the pool of purple liquid. Digging her paws into the ground the Pokemon would come to a stop, however she was unfortunate enough to be hit get on by a wave of energy that was produced by Momo, with a cry of pain the fire type was knocked back, the crimson eyes of her trainer remained fixed on her wondering if the fire type had been afflicted by confusion. When she managed to force herself off the fire type would cry out again, “Qui!” this time her flames flaring again she seemed to be fine, so Bunji took the chance to call out the next attack this time he would use Quilava’s speed to her advantage. ”Quilava use Quick attack to circle around the enemy steer clear of the puddle!” his voice thundered as the Pokemon ran once again picking up speed quickly. Using the fast movement of her limbs she was able to run in a circle counter clockwise around Momo, once Quilava was in what Bunji determined to be Momo’s blind spot, that spot being behind the psychic Pokemon he would call out the following ”Flamethrower now!”.
Coming to a stop the fire type would take aim at Momo, using her speed earlier she would hopefully have reached this spot before Momo would follow her movements, regardless the Pokemon would cover the distance between herself, and Momo not physically but instead with a stream of orange hot flames that shot out of her mouth. The fire on her back would blaze as it intensified, feeding energy into the stream of fire that traveled across the ground aiming to smash into Momo, if the attack was a success the flames would succeed in engulfing Momo. Perhaps even knocking the burning Pokemon into her own puddle of poison.

“Cheat!” she called out, watching as the little fire-mane mouse evaded the bubbling purple pool—and yet it still remained there; waiting for another unsuspecting victim—and then she finally scored a hit, as her Confusion attack had scored a hit on the Quilava; which was forced backwards—yet missed the pool by that much. “Tch,” she hissed, her face changing from normal to something that was hell-bent on winning. If there was something that Izumi realized that she didn’t have until that moment, it was the burning desire to actually win in a battle—or end it in a draw, but winning it was much better. She knew that Water-types could beat fire, and then she felt the blast of heat quickly envelop Momo, and it shrieked out of surprise as the flames danced higher and higher—and she then got an idea; turn the disadvantage into an opportunity… echoed through her mind, being reminded of Claire’s lessons.
“Momo, calm down! Whatever you do, don’t skid across the—“ she trailed off as she saw what the Quilava was doing, it was deliberately batting her towards the noxious puddle! “Momo, do your Calm Mind status boost once again, and then retaliate with Confusion!” she shouted over the roar of flames; and while Momo was being pushed off towards the bubbling purple goo, she quickly centered her mind and meditated—and then opened her eyes with clarity; and then even if the heat was searing her hands, she raised them high and then watched as another ball of energy materialized between them; before it shot through the wall of flames and then raced once more towards the fire-maned creature. She then realized that the wall of flames was dying down, and she followed it up with, “Momo, go use your Magical Leaf, no—“ she trailed off as Momo pitched forward—what had happened!
“Get up, girl! Go! Magical Leaf when you’re standing!” she called out, and watched as Momo picked herself up off the ground and the leaves made of psychic energy shimmered, before screaming in the air headed right at the Quilava that had hit her with those powerful, painful flames…
--Calm Mind, Confusion (chance to confuse the target), Magical Leaf--
The battle had started to fire up, quite literally this time around the stream of flames hit their mark he watched as Momo was pushed away by the steam of flames, yet in the end the fire type seemed to persevere as she pushed forward perhaps through sheer will creating a sphere of psychic energy once more. ”She’s using confusion again” he whispered to himself those stunning crimsons of his taking note of the battle that was unfolding in front of him, Quilava would have watched with surprise as the opponent seemed to fight through the pain, and manage to use her own attack. ”Quilava, dodge the attack!” he called out with that order the fire Pokemon would spread her four legs as she watched the sphere of psychic energy coming straight for her, pushing off of her paws the fire type would dive off to the right avoiding the concentrated sphere of energy. Once the attack had past her by the Quilava, and trainer were ready to initiate their counter attack but before they had a chance to do so the girl would call out another attack, Bunji knew he had to act quickly or else he risked Quilava being injured further by the opponent.
”Use Flamethrower to cancel out the attack!” he called out watching the tight grouping of leafs coming in like a swam towards Quilava, the fire type would flare her flames then let out another mighty stream of fire from her mouth the fire attack would clash with the tight grouping of leafs. The resulting impact caused a concentrated explosion to occur from the clash, a cloud of smoke gathering at the point of impact, using the cloud of smoke to his advantage Bunji would call out the next attack without wasting time ”Quilava now Wild Charge!”. Letting out a low battle cry the fire type would begin to emit sparks of electricity from her body that soon surrounded her entire being with rings of electrical energy that fueled the Pokemon as she charged towards where Momo was, her body now set a spark with a thick coating of electricity. The thin cloud of smoke split apart as the Quilava pushed through running straight for the Pokemon, aiming to smash straight into the other Pokemon with an electric charged tackle.
From afar his crimson eyes reflected the many lights, and flashes that came from the battle from the magical leafs colliding with the raging flames to the current surge of electrical energy that surrounded his Quilava, the male would only wonder as to how the battle would end. However he was well aware that Quilava was expending a lot of energy, and Momo on the other hand was charging herself up, eventually Quilava would be unable to counter the psychic Pokemon’s moves due to the boost she gained from her Calm Mind move. The male would smirk at the thought, Momo would make him proud it seemed, as would Izumi, the two were well on their way.

“Aw shit, how could I forget that fire can incinerate…” she trailed off, feeling the heat even from here. There was no way in hell she was going to give up, however, and was about to whistle once more when the flames made another reappearance—and it was getting hotter, the longer Momo stood out on the battlefield. Drats, I really should invest in some moves… so that I can catch anyone off-guard… she thought as the resulting heat wave reached her, even from where she stood. But her proud nature would not allow her to fail, and she could see that using Momo was going to be pretty much running into a brick wall, so she quickly decided to change tactics. Holding out her temporary residence (which happened to be decorated with a red-and-green motif on the white underside) she then aimed it at Momo, who had managed to fight her way out of the flames; looking battered and worse for wear.
“Come back here now, you did great,” she trailed off, glaring daggers at that fire-mane mouse as the red beam of light converted Momo back into energy and was sucked inside. “You’re forcing me to reveal my big guns really early, you know,” she trailed off with a hiss, before she quickly gripped another small Pokeball in her hands. With the press of the button, it popped up to its normal size; before she tossed it and the red light came spilling out of it… revealing Riku, her Deino, who was raring to go and very much ready for battle. “Okay, you’ve forced my hand… now let’s get this shit going,” she began, before whistling the four-tune call which made Riku snap to attention—she was going to make him see just how much she’d been training with this powerhouse.
“Okay, Riku… first thing to do, is this!” she began, with a smirk on her face before letting several notes fall through the area—which sounded like an elegy for the dead… yet to Riku it meant something very exact and specific. Taking great care to avoid the noxious puddle (with the aid of his sense of smell) he quickly took his breath and then watched the little fire-mane creature approach… he expelled this blast of blue-and-red swirled energy right at the oncoming Quilava! Hah, take that… she thought, keeping her face as neutral as possible; but in the back of her mind she was cackling like mad.
--Dragonbreath--
TAGGED: you meanie you almost roasted our child... wait whut
The flaming rage would result in Momo being returned to her Pokemon, Bunji would watch in silence as the Pokemon was taken from the field leaving only Quilava to take charge of the battle as she continued to rush directly towards the newfound opponent. With Dieno now on the battlefield, the Pokemon would launch a direct blast of dark energy that smashed directly into the electrical energy that surrounded Quilava, the resulting clash would result in the colliding energies reacting to one another with a powerful explosion. Bunji stepped back his eyes narrowing slightly as the explosion of the energy flashed with a bright light, causing a mixture of the dragon energy from the Dragonbreath, and the electrical energy would be released into the environment with random bolts of electrical energy. The concentrated electrical bolts would dig into the ground scarring the ground with deep gashes, the thick cloud of smoke that lifted from the ground would slowly begin to fade, allowing Bunji to finally see into the aftermath of the clash. The males crimson eyes would focus upon the Quilava, she was lying flat on her stomach at first it looked as if she was completely knocked out perhaps from the collision of two energy attacks?
However before long the Quilava would slowly push herself up on all fours, until she was finally standing again on all fours but she was doing so on shaky legs a red beam of light would dash across the battlefield enveloping the Quilava in the red light returning her to her respective Pokeball. Shrinking the sphere in his hand he would stare at it for a moment, feeling a sense of pride in his Pokemon for doing her best then clipping it onto his belt, before turning his attention to Izumi, and her Deino. ”An exceptional display of your prowess as a trainer” he said to the girl with a tone that carried his words with a hint of pride, despite that he had lost he was not angry he was actually smiling making a quick decision he walked towards the girl passing the Deino as he did so. Once he was within reach he stood there in front of her his crimson orbs focused upon her amber eyes, the two locked in each other’s gaze ”That fury that made you so famous in my memories, truly shows in your battle style…just next time make sure not to overwork our daughter, I don’t want to find out she’s been seriously injured” he said with a chuckle trying his best to lighten the mood.
Reaching back he would pull a Pokeball from his belt, handing her an enlarged sphere in his hand towards the girl ”…I still remember when you used to tell me how you admired Swablu’s, and used to like them so much. So here, I recently attained this Pokemon in a trade, so after what I have seen here today I have no doubts you are a capable trainer, to use her” he said to the girl holding the Pokeball with the Swablu towards her.

The moment the two attacks had made contact with each other (Riku’s Dragonbreath and his Quilava’s Wild Charge, from what she could remember) the two attacks collided in the middle of the battlefield—before a huge explosion rent the area, causing her to shield her face with her arm and close her eyes as the dust—and energy—swirled everywhere around them. Little did she realize that she’d also left her mark on Celadon, just as Claire had left hers in Viridian—there were several gashes etched across the stones, some of them had been shattered to little more than dust—and then she coughed and waved her hand in front of her, trying to clear the air around her immediate vicinity. Dangit, who knew that Riku was this strong to cause such damage?! Went through the back of her mind as the dust and smoke cleared, revealing the aforementioned marks in the ground.
She held her breath; knowing that even if Riku was a Dragon-type, he had the same kind of personality as her Rufflet, Sora: both tended to protect what was dear to them, and had egos the size of approximately Mount Chimney—no, Mount Moon—and grinned as the battle was deemed over—so quickly? She could only hiss as she watched the shaky Quilava disappear into the Pokeball; and she whistled her ‘summoning call’ and Riku did an abrupt about-face and then trotted over to where she was—within range of the red beam of light that converted him into that mysterious energy and sucked him back inside. What’s the inside of a Pokeball look like, does it resemble their natural habitat, I wonder? She thought as he headed to her direction—and that made her flush once more.
“What fury, that? That was just the beginning you know,” she muttered, crossing her arms across her chest before listening to the next part of his speech, and very nearly burst out laughing. “You think I’d injure her that bad? I’ll keep her alive and whole. Always. You know what I mean… and get a Gallade while you’re at it,” she said absentmindedly, twirling a lock of her loose hair between her fingers as he brought out another Pokeball—but this time though, her eyes widened and her brows went up, they almost disappeared into her hairline as she listened to the explanation, and then her gaze traveled down to the ball cupped in his hands. “It… it’s a girl?” she began, taking a look at the sphere in his hands before giving it a gentle poke with her finger—and then scooping it up and out of his hands. She knew just how this little one would fit into her team’s rotation… it would take some time to figure out, but at that same moment, another one of the many ‘mons she wanted was crossed off from the wishlist.
“Thank you… I’ll train her to be as strong as everyone else,” she said, her tone solemn—it wasn’t a pledge, it was a promise. To herself, she added, You know I’m still going to keep an eye on you no matter what happens…
He was pleased to see the joy radiate from her when she heard the details of the Swablu within the sphere, ”Yes, she is a female” he clarified just then allowing her to scoop the Pokeball from his hand, with that the male would listen to her last words giving her a nod in response followed by the dialogue ”I have no doubts you will train her to become a powerful Altaria one day, and also…I am not surprised if you keep tailing me, just one thing Izumi” he paused for a minute his mind formulating the next words carefully. ”….live your life, every moment is precious, and every life is worth being enjoyed. Do not waste your life following my shadows, every once in a while take your eyes from me, and take in the horizon…if you focus so much on one object in a painting you fail to see the whole picture” with that explanation he turned, beginning to walk away from the girl his long cloak swaying side to side at the ankles. The man would be careful around the puddle of toxic poison that had formed from the battle earlier, his attention focused upon the distance, as he continued to walk a few feet from the puddle he stopped suddenly, remembering the whole reason he had called Izumi out here.
”Thank you!” he called out to her, then turning over his shoulder he focused those stunning crimsons on her one last time, raising his right hand to do something he did to her the first time he asked her out on a date, and it came to an end he gave her a charming smile coupled with a thumbs up. ”Spending time with you today, has given me insight on a new goal…I think, life may take a turn for the better, if I don’t die by then!” he said with a soft chuckle as he turned away from the girl. Raising those thumbs up into the air he walked on his hand lowering down to his side, joining the other inside of his pockets as they slid into the pockets of his pants pushing back the long end of his black cloak. With a steady pace he continued walking the shadows of the distant trees would soon be cast down upon him when he found himself out of the city limits, and on the route heading out of here.

She then scoffed lightly, before continuing, “You know I’m not going to stop tailing you—not at least until you return home alive! Most certainly you’re not as ‘well’ as you were before you left, but as long as you get back home ‘alive’, then that’s good enough for me. I also have plans of my own you know…” she trailed off as she watched him skirt around the purple puddle of noxious liquid, before he turned back towards her and then gave her another deep stare with those crimson eyes of his. She then smirked-as she heard his last words, and was almost taken aback out of surprise as he told her his new ‘course of action’. “You better not, I’m not taking your dead ass back home to Lavaridge if I find out you got yourself involved in something that’s beyond your control… just remember that I’ll be watching you…” she managed to shout at his retreating figure.
She then directed her steps in the opposite direction, headed towards another path that would eventually take her down to Fuchsia City—all she needed to do was to borrow a bike and head down Cycling Road. She then sighed; knowing that keeping an eye on Lavaridge’s “wayward son” was going to be one hell of a task. She knew that they would be going on separate paths—at least temporarily—and then she’d be following him once again; after she’d gathered enough information. She then sighed; before exhaling in a long breath—she hadn’t told him about her plans to join a certain team that was dedicated to just generally “keeping the peace”… more like, it was something like “keeping the other Teams in check and preventing further chaos from breaking out”.
