Before Stellar, it was Sam who looked horrified at the Draco Meteor, screeching out a warning. So what if it's illegal for him to warn, it's his mate out there! It was too late, though, both him and Stellar look horrified when the Draco Meteor struck, and Plume got thrown down to the ground by one of the rocks.
"Return!" Stellar's cry was shrill. Like Sam, this time, she shares the same thought, so what if Plume could actually still go on? She's hurt and all that matters is to bring her back. The Archeops actually let out a cry of protest before the red light got her, and returned her back.
As Cero was released, Stellar made her final choice. There's no possible way she's sacrificing her ride, nor was she about to sacrifice her second Archeops. Sam landed to her side, taking his mate's pokeball to his hands and cooing at it, as if comforting her. The pokeball itself is shaking with disbelief; Plume wants to still fight, but Sam and Stellar is determined to keep her down for now.
"Sae," Stellar bit her bottom lip, releasing her Ninetales. The Shiny Pokemon is back on the field, looking interested at Cero.
"Start it off."
The Ninetales leap forward, her body covered in flames as she dashes towards the Scizor with a Flame Charge. Her eyes were blank; Sae had supplemented her attack with a Calm Mind, for future usage.
Notes
Maybe it's for the rich. Like, you go there if you need to. I think the privilege to be a trainer is given to everyone, but maybe if you attend pokeschool you are expected to be better?
Summary for the battle : Plume was thrown to the ground after the Draco Meteor. She can still fight, but a frantic Stellar and Plume's mate got the female bird returned back to the pokeball.
Sae is out, dashing in with a Flame Charge and Calm Mind.
Cero's eyes were intense, just as his trainer. In his pocket, he clenched his fist still not over the defeat of his Salamence. He had come to learn defeat many times in his life, but he is a veteran; an ace trainer. He just lost to this pink eyed woman. He was in his feelings a little about the situation, but with Cero out he would bare no mercy. "Cero no mercy. No games." Nick said as he stamped his foot down ready for battle. His Scizor snickered, it was this cold and thorough intent he was use to in fights of his past. It was the battle strategy he knew Nick was ready to implement that got him known as the Spartan.
The docile Pokemon stared at the fire-type who had took a leap and was now charging forward wrapped in flames. "Rain Dance. Then take her out." The droplets were slow coming, but soon the clouds would blacken and the battlefield would soon be covered in rain. The rainfall hadn't reached potential yet in this calling and would not affect the power of Flame Charge - because of the quickness of the forward situation. The intense eyes of Cero would make it's connection as he appeared in front of the Ninetails with his claw facing forward by using Quick Attack. His interception was pretty much guaranteed to hit and connect with the literally burning Pokemon at his own cost. Fortunately, his claw in use of Quick Attack was laced with a Toxic. The speed in which it all happen would most likely slip the eyes of both the watching trainers; as it only pertained to Stella really.
Used Rain Dance. Followed with Quick Attack, laced with Toxic
Nick definitely borrowed a page out of Stella's book with that one. His Scizor would not wince at the pain he just endured, but would stand now a few meters behind the Ninetales considering the connected in passing. His attack his a lot harder than normal thanks to his ability Technician. He knew how to break opponents down and now the droplets would drip down his singed armor as his trainer watched with intensity. Nick ignored the few drops that were coming his way. Using a fire-type was smart but Nick was aptly prepared.
ooc - pokeschool has to be some bull. all those trainers get their butts kicked in the anime and games. emerald went to an academy in the manga, so maybe it does produce good trainers. stella is such a softie. lol nick is not gonna be ready when he sees her crazy side.
summary - rain dance. cero used quick attack and laced his claws with toxic. intercepted flame charge to hit and badly poison the sae. raining now on the field.
Looks like Nick felt the sting of defeat a little too harshly. Stellar noted how his posture seems to change, seems to be less arrogant and more than displeased. Does he really doesn't expect defeat? Stellar wondered how could one become strong without expecting defeat. After all, to be defeated is to learn, and she'll gladly lose if it means she'll learn something for her Pokemon in the next round, and if her Pokemon is not injured too badly in the process. It might hurt, but it also saves lives, especially if said defeats are just tame and friendly.
Rain Dance was cool and all, but it also made everything so drenched. A soft glow, there was Sam, projecting a small Protect to cover his trainer from getting wet. A little more exertion, and the Archeops successfully pulled small Protects for Jy and for Nick, even when he's at the other side of the field, just so they don't get drenched. These Protects are too small to hold up in battle, and will be instantly crushed, but in this instance, if it's only to cover rain, it should be enough. Stellar patted Sam in thanks.
As for Sae, she wasn't expecting the Rain Dance, but she was definitely expecting the attack. Who cares if Stellar couldn't see for her, the Flame Charge had cause her speed to rise, and she could see where the Scizor is going, even if she couldn't avoid it. Instead, the Ninetales pulled off something else, as the Quick Attack and Toxic landed on her, her Flames that was on her body burned brighter, and when the Scizor pulled away, leaving the Ninetales panting with Toxic and damage, he was most likely left with a bigger singe than normal flames.
Will-O-Wisp.
Sae grinned slightly, before charging at the Scizor with another Flame Charge. So what if it doesn't hit? Her speed get higher and higher, and then she will be deadly, or Sae is determined to go down trying, like she always does.
She's not that baby Vulpix anymore, she's all grown up.

Makeshift umbrellas!
Summary for the battle : Sae took the Quick Attack and Toxic, but as the Scizor's claws landed on her, her Flame Charge was fueled with Will O Wisp, more than likely to leave a burn as the Toxic was left, an exchange, if you will. Then, another Flame Charge, as her speed goes higher and higher...
Those burns didn't take the warrior off his game or focus. He was going to finish this fox off. "Double Team." Nick ordered. Cero would split into three as the Ninetales charged forward with her weakened Flame Charge. The rain on the field had made her little fiery assault look like child's play. Wasting no time both Scizors would surround the Ninetales. "Slash!" The solid order would be executed, both Scizor's swiping at the mystic fox.
Used Double Team to dodge, followed up with Agility & Slash
The trainer had tunnel vision as he watched this battle. He controlled the weather and soon he would take control over this bout. His Scizor was a strong Pokemon and had more heart than anyone he knew. He would fight through burns, pains, disabilities it did not matter. It was his unconquerable spirit that made him his opponent's worst nightmare. Nick stayed calm on the sidelines as he would watch Cero this round.
The Double Team sucked, but Sae got what she wanted. Her speed is fast now, way faster than the Scizor, and even with his Agility, she could see through his Slash.
Fine.
If that's the way he wanted to play.
As soon as both Scizors's jumped in for Slash, the Ninetales jumped up, whole body exploding with dark energy. Hex wasn't affected by the weather at all, and like the last time she was out in battle, it was powered up by the Calm Mind at the beginning of this match, and the fact that Cero is burned, however little. The ghostly energy spread over the field, destroying the Scizor's illusion, but whether it hit Cero or not it doesn't matter; as Sae landed, she used Calm Mind once more, trying to focus her attention away from the Toxic slowly dripping through her veins.
Stellar watched, biting her lower lip in worry, hands fiddling with the hem of her shirt. The Scizor is determined, and by the small interaction she had yesterday, the bug type is pretty cold as well. There's a danger to cold and ruthless Pokemon, and she's worried. On the other hand, this is Sae, she's talking about, the child who evolved far too early, who now has determination to never, ever let life screw with her again. If there's anyone that is determined to win, it would be Sae, who refused to back down and taken a kill when she was far too young.
The silver coat on the Ninetales back is not the mark of pride, nor was it a beautiful thing to Sae.
No, the time she earned that coat was when she evolved, and the shine was nothing but trophy of congratulations for her first blood.
She deserves her ghostly appearance, that's for sure.
Notes
I was taking a look at Serebii's top speed Pokemon to compare Sizor's speed and I was like...what. Scizor didn't even make it to the top 300 Pokemonin base speed, and Ninetales outrun it by a good 35 speed in base stat. That makes no sense; I kinda expected it to be at the top 300 at least...*stares at list*
Summary for the battle : Ninetales jump up to avoid the Slash, exploding with Hex to destory the Double Team illusion, before bouncing back downwards and using Calm Mind once more.
The dark eye would hit the real fighter. His illusion dissipated as he was wrapped in the black energy and zapped by the eerie move. To his advantage, the attack would not be as effective due to his typing. Resisting ghost-type attacks helped quite a bit as he narrowed his eyes at the Ninetales. This was clearly a battle of spirit right now as Cero stared the Ninetales down. Sae had her own resolve and Cero had his; although they were quite different. Cero was a prideful Pokemon, it's actually funny how he received his name. Nick named the Scizor for his talent in battle. He viewed, the then Scyther, as one of the best technical fighters there was. He could take you down - from Tyranitar to Magikarp. Nick originally wanted to name him Uno - but decided to go with Cero. The number zero was above one, better than number one - and Zero was the name of a man, who had great influence on Nick, own Scizor. From that day forth, Cero lived up to being better than number one always.
Even now. As he placed his claws on the ground and bowed his head. His wings began to flutter as he prepared for battle. The serious creature was now even more fired up. Two clones spouted as his movements would become inevitably hard to trace. He was up, down, left, right - his speed was insane thanks to the boost from Agility. He would attempt to slam into the Ninetales with his Quick Attack. It was coming at her three ways, so it would surely be hard to discern which one was real and launch an appropriate counter to such a fast move. That was the pride of Cero's fighting - to hit so hard, so fast that you cannot tell where, when, or who. It was about control. Proceeding the Quick Attack - he would follow whatever move the Ninetales made and would be a step ahead as he prepared another attack. He was staying on her.
Hit by Hex
Used Double Team, followed up with Agility and Quick Attack - prep'd an attack
Nick watched. He was impressed. Even the raindrops couldn't keep up with Cero.
ooc - yeah scizor's do seem fast since scyther was quick. he goes backwards unfortunately. tags - @stellar
Sae had always been rather reckless. That worries Stellar time to time, really, but this time, the Ninetales is going at insane speeds, nearly matched only by the Scizor's double agility. She's naturally fast, so that helped, a lot.
Saedea hadn't cared when Cero stared at her, in fact, the Ninetales sort of taunted him for it, throwing her own stare and smirk, even with her veins boiling unnaturally by the Toxic. Too headstrong, always and always; Stellar briefly wondered what would Cero and Nick's expression would be if she tells him that Sae is the youngest, no longer a child bu the youngest of her veteran team. Would it piss the other trainer off, to know that, while he might in this battle this round, his Scizor is being matched by a child just turned adult?
The Ninetales, on the other hand, is taking it all. She wasn't allowing Stellar the time to think, to think if she should return the Ninetales or not. Oh, the Ninetales took the Quick Attack and Agility head on, something in her mouth. She gave it her all in this one, and as the Scizor, who moved faster than raindrops, reached in and the moment she felt the hit land she unleashed a torrent of flames, the distance making it so the Scizor's own body is the one that covered any rain, lessening the weakening effect of the weather.
The flames ravaged outwards, the power at it's peak after two Calm Minds and the short distance. Fire Blast is devastating, and Stellar covered her face to prevent the scorching heat. It's so hot it vaporize the current raindrops for a moment, before the rain continued to fall.
Sae wasn't one, just yet. She staggered from the attack, but after the Fire Blast she turned around and unleashed a Flamethrower, taking that moment in time when there's no raindrops thanks to the Fire Blast to spin and set a spiral of flames outwards from herself, generally just going outwards and upwards, everywhere, to say the least.
And she fell.
Stellar hand shot out, the red beam catching Sae's fallen form before the Ninetales even hit the ground. In that aspect, Stellar is fast too, and as she returned the Ninetales, she held up her hand.
"It's enough, you win," she called out, "Three of my Pokemon are knocked out." A lie, of course, one can remember Aria fully still able to battle, even if not as powerful as before and was just forced to withdraw, and the female Archeops, Plume, was rattling in protest in her pokeball, because yes, the Archeops is still good to go.
But to Stellar, that's enough, the fact that they are withdrawn are considered that they are unable to battle. No point for unnecessary injuries in this fun battle after all.
Notes
*mind boggled* Maybe it's because Scizor are steel type. Huh.
Summary for the battle : Ninetales let out a Fire Blast as soon as the Quick Attack landed, sending it outwards in the form of a ripple. The Fire Blast was sp intense that it vaporized the raindrops for just a moment, and Sae too that moment to spin and ripple out a Flamethrower. Both attacks are powered up by previous two Calm Minds.
Fire! Fire! Fire! That Ninetales sure knew how to scorch up the place as she released the Fire Blast & Flamethrower volley. The blazing touch would sizzle the raindrops, but that only caused a steamy battle scene. In the midst of the steam and use of doppelgangers Sae hit nothing. Cero's hands was crossed as they were when he first met Stella. He was still very unimpressed. The fox must have been aiming at his clones, because the real bug was already aerial and back near Nick. He was just waiting for the poison to sink in and finish the fox. But unfortunately, her trainer didn't let that happen. That Ninetales didn't have much stamina left no way taking hits from Cero and being poisoned as she was, no way she was going the distance like that.
Evaded the Fire Blast & Flamethrower - returned
Nonetheless, Nick was appeased with getting the Ninetales out of commission. More or less that was the motive. His nerves had cooled now that he had Cero on the battlefield. He was getting a little rush off of this, as honestly they both had two Pokemon left. They only had two Pokemon at full health - Ral & Aria. Her next choice probably would have been Plume, who had just suffered a devastating blow from Draco Meteor. Cero was in the thick of battle, so he was ready to take on any competitor. "It's more or less a draw." He said while returning his Scizor. He returned all of his PokeBalls to his pouch, his pals would definitely need some time off to rest up.
"One day in a bigger stage. I feel we will have the chance to see a real victor." He said while nonchalantly rubbing his head. His ivory strands were all wet now from the rain. The dark clouds began to split quite rapidly - it was like some divine lights were just spreading them aside. The light would hit the clearing as the hazel eyed trainer stared into Stella's eyes. Such a pretty girl, why isn't she a coordinator or something? She should make poffin or be chef or something? Why is she such a tough Pokemon Trainer?
ooc - draw again. leaving this to roleplayer's imagination. when the time comes for a big event we need an epic six on six. but what's next we journeying to the desert?
Thank goodness to the rain that the clearing didn't burn up as it is. Stellar patted her male Archeops, who looked stoic, but she refused to let him strain himself any further. He had been holding up the Protect for both trainers, to protect them from the rain, but it's over now, and she doesn't mind getting a little wet.
Sam looked up at Stellar, noting the gleam in her eyes, the dying rush. The battle had made her heart beat, her blood pound and roar in her ears, like all battles do, things that she lived and had fought to live of, and the rush is dying, as of now. Battle is over and the stakes are just alright, nothing a little recovery won't heal. It had been great, even when the stakes are not that high, and that's fine by her. There's no killing shine in her eyes, so Sam supposed it's a good thing, good thing that the woman could rein in her killing sense, one that she honed over the years and is now trying to dull it down.
Stellar smiled at Sam again, and the Archeops reluctantly let his Protect fell. The rain is lessening, though, now that the battle is over, and only a few drops hit her. She let Sam hold on to Plume's pokeball, the female Archeops probably still sulking for not being allowed to battle. Who cares about the Draco Meteor? She's zipping around still fine, and yes, she has more HP than that, years after thrown to war like that. One Draco Meteor is nothing, that's Stellar being paranoid.
"It depends if a victor actually matters," Stellar said languidly, as she join Nick, walking across the battlefield, "Ah, you are all wet. I'm sorry that Sam's Protect didn't hold up too strongly to your side." The male Archeops had tried, though, but holding up two Protect, split as it is, is an interesting and unusual feat already, who's to say it succeeds well?
Stellar offered Nick a soft smile, the dangerous gleam in her pink eyes totally gone now, hinting nothing at her war ridden past. There will be a time when Nick discovers what she has done, dark times where lives are nothing but trophies and recoveries, and to kill is to live. Desperation pushes a person faster than anything else, mixing that with dedication to stay alive...well, Stellar is a survivor. They either crack, or get stronger, but which one is she remains a question.
"That was a good battle. A good lesson to all of us as well, Sae has a lot of learning to do, silly child," she commented, fondness in her voice. Sae is too reckless, trying too much at too little time. This is a good time to learn new tactics and learn new things. Too be bested by someone with less speed than her, too. Stellar had a feeling the Ninetales will fume later.
"Shall we go back to the Pokemo- oh my!"
Stellar was interrupted by Jy, the Trapinch striding forward with a confident, and determined look. He's impressed, seeing the potential in Nick to raise him and some day, use him to defeat Aria properly. That is one hard goal to achieve in the first place, considering the years of experience under Aria's belt, but nevertheless, the Trapinch is willing to try, and die trying.
And to show it's want, that fella climbed up Nick's leg.
Hilariously.
Notes
And there's that, how Jy shows he wants to follow Nick. Interesting fella.
An epic six on six with Stellar and higher stakes, to push her harder. Oh that will be terrifying. She's off to train, now. What if the trainers join in the match, as well? Stellar uses a knife, as her weapon, Aria, her armor. It's a deadly dance.
I believe after you take my Trapinch, then we can start our next thread (time skipped to maybe a few weeks? A month?) in the desert. I'm planning to put Stellar there for a while, as she hone her skills her own way, and maybe there's where Nick can find her, fighting with her Pokemon, knife in battle. Pass her the Trapinch egg then? Sounds cool to you?
Nick smirked. He wanted Stella to be a Coordinator - but she was a great battler. There was no doubt in that. Perhaps his ideals needed a little refresh. Unfortunately, right now that was happening. His eyes connected with the woman as she made her apologies. Her Archeops did a great job protecting the forest. Nick would turn to the Archeops - Sam - and give the guy an affirming smile. It was rare to see the man smile like that, but the ancient bird and Stella would witness it first hand. He would continue to nod as he listened, kinda, to what Stella was saying. More or less she was right. As the ivory haired man went to open his mouth and speak, he could feel something pulling at his leg.
His eyes jolted down as he saw the starry eyed Trapinch at his leg like a puppy. He had latched onto Nick's leg and was climbing. Before he spoke, he had a flashback. It was about four years ago, he was climb a mountain in a foreign region. He remembered his Infernape was right there by his side helping him climb all the way. He couldn't forget Bakuryuu - who was still a Shelgon. The dragon would leap off the mountain sometimes thinking he would sprout wings. Then there was the fateful battle against a Salamence. The battle scarred Nick almost fatally, but it also marked Bakuryuu's evolution into Salamence. However that's another story.
Nick looked down with warmth. He recalled his time in Nacrene reading about the Elite Four. From coming to Nuvema to know being in Accumula Town, he was looking for a sign. He was yet to capture any Pokemon, but this made him realize where he started anew. Where he and his core team found themselves. Where they found their strength. Where they found their purpose. The mountain. The earth!
I have to go to the mountain! Nick had his answer as he kneeled down to the Trapinch. "I think this little guy wants to fly with me. He might be my sign - would you mind me raising him Stella?" He formally asked. This would be Nick's first acquisition since coming to this new region, he wondered if the young lady would part with the Trapinch.
ooc - definitely a month later we meet again. thanks for jy too, really appreciate the little guy.
Nick has a good smile, when it's warm and less condescending. And that was one of the things that convinced Stellar that, no matter how stubborn Nick is, he is a kind trainer, kind enough for Jy. Suitable, even, with their personalities close to 100% similar.
"...I have never been one that purposely force a Pokemon to my team," the woman said wistfully, "and he has been agry from the very beginning, grudging, even...you'll be good for him, so rather than you asking me, could I ask you to take care of him? Make him wonderful, make him strong." She looked down at Jy, briefly remembering how they met. "...Make him less...angry."
She know he will take him, though, it's almost fate, and Stellar always believed int he fate of a Pokemon in someone's team. The next time she sees him....hopefully, Jy will be great. Great, and wise, not a grudgeholder anymore.
With that, they will part ways, Stellar choosing to go to the Pokemon Center and heal up, and heading off to her own road. One night spend with another as companionship was worth it; human communication in general feels great. But for now, she wants to go back home, or at least, the place where she felt home the most.
She hears the sandstorm loud and clear, humming a tune of return.
Notes
I see you added Jy to the PC, thanks for keepign his name and personality.
Popple: What?! Like you never always wanted to do that.
Slate: Whatever. Anyway Wel-
Popple: Welcome to the BRB Battle Review of the Bad Asses. This is your Hostess with the Mostess and I don't mean cream filling POPPLE! .........
Slate: ...And?
Popple: And Slate.
Slate: Gee thanks.
Popple: You're welcome buddy. ANYWAY! Our two BA's of the day are Stellar Aurelia and Nic the Kol Zeon! Stellar armed and dangerous with her metal mugging paper weight! And Zeon with his flaming Monkey!
Slate: Ste-
Popple: I guess you could say his pants were on fire! *snickers*
Slate: ....
Popple: Oh come on!
Slate: No. Back to Business, in my opinion, Stellar won that fight - Nickol was taking some of those super effective hits and just shrugging them off. Infernape should've been dropped from that first combo.
Popple: How do you figure that one?
Slate: Well look at the line up we got from their abilities and what moves were used in order of attack. With Infernape, the combination of Swords Dance and Mach Punch along with Aggron's Sturdy should have been a one hit knock out. With Aria's Sturdy it wouldn't have mattered how hard you hit her, she still would be standing from a single attack - Metal Burst rebounds any damaging attack with double the power. Long story short, Infernape would have been hit with his own attack, but with 8 times the original power AND the buff from his own Swords Dance.
Popple: Ooooch.
Slate: Yeah, big ooch. Surf would've been the final nail in the coffin had it not been dodged, Metal Burst alone would've packed more than enough punch to drop Nickol's Infernape with the single hit he took from it.
Popple: But he swapped out with his earlier Pokemon.
Slate: Yeah I know. From that point on the battle is more or less moot, as Nickol switched back to a Pokemon that should have been fainted. Both his Salamence and Infernape would have been knocked out of the battle, and while Stellar's Aggron would've been hurt a bit she still would've been standing.
Popple: Cause why?
Slate: He took a direct hit combo from Ice Beam and Dragon Pulse that should've dropped Salamanence.
Popple: So she killed it.
Slate: Well
Popple: She's a murderer.
Slate: You're on the air you know.
Popple: STELLAR HOW COULD YOU!?!
Slate: GDI Popple! This isn't death enabled!
Popple: ....
Slate: ....No. Popple No.
Popple: CELEBRITY DEATH MATCH POKEMON STYLE!
Slate: Where's Lyro?
Popple: Down on the field.
Slate: What?!
Popple: It's okay she's got Dragon armor. She'll be fine.
