"Dodge and use Dragonbreathe." The Salamence made the dodge look easy as he batted his wings swiftly to evade the ice beam. That was not going to work not while Salamence was aerial at least. "That's insulting - you know you have no chance of hitting a moving target in the sky little girl. Come on now - you better get your Archeops in this battle." The trainer taunted as he shook his head in dismay. Although her Aggron sped up with Autotomize he was still on the ground trying to attack his aerial dragon. While he was speaking Bakuryuu would perform the same attack releasing another volley of concentrated energy towards the Aggron. He would fly left as he released the energy and kept a sharp eye on the beast.
With her Aggron getting faster this just going to be a boring back and forth all day. She's grounded, I'm aerial. We are going to have to meet half way to get anything done. Nick knew the Pokemon were at a stalemate right now. However, her Aggron was advantageous on the ground and it was opposite for Bakuryuu. He had to think long and hard how he would penetrate the defenses of the Pokemon, without putting Bakuryuu at too much of a risk. That Ice Beam was threatening, he would have to be careful of that dragon slaying move. "Stella - I have been training for years. Don't waste my time, if you want to beat me you gotta come up the the skies baby girl. Get Aria up there. Come on little girl." His eyes were cold as he spoke, one of them would have to get out of their comfort zone.
ooc - stalemate. lol aggron has great coverage. stella must have had a seriously bad history sheesh
Those few times she fell for it, though, the result weren't pretty. She had lost a few Pokemon to death because of taunts, and now, those slides off much like water of a duck's back.
She can't get her Archeops' into battle. Neither of them, though they would be excellent in battle, of course. But the size difference and frailness of Archeops in general compared to a Salamence triggered suicidal flags in Stellar's head, and she would rather lose this battle than feeling she would sacrifice a Pokemon for victory than life.
Aria will make do. The Aggron always made it, and it's her job to think. It always had been.
Stellar's eyes darted around the clearing, thinking hard. With the battle dome above them, Bakuryuu can only reach a certain height before he can't fly any higher. That would have to be her advantage, here.
"Why not go up, then, Ria? Like he suggested?"
And the Aggron actually understood that. The Aggron roared, and a bunch of rocks rained around the field, Rock Slide pulling an impressive amount of rocks into the battle, the slide blocking the majority of the Dragonbreath, though some did lick the Steel Type's armor. Aria took some rocks and aimed it towards the Salamence, throwing a few with full force.
Even if they don't hit, the rocks that she threw were huge, and the few that landed on the same corner provided a footstool of sorts, which the Aggron ran to, not bothering to see if the throws actually hit the Salamence or not. Lightened up and made faster by Autotomize, Aria scaled the rocks, which is her element int he first place, being a monstrous, mountain Pokemon. From there, the Aggron shot an Ice Beam at flying Dragon.
Notes
Not anymore. Yeah, Stellar didn't come from a supremely happy and joyful site.
"Stand your ground!" Nick commanded. The rock barrage was quite effective, as the Salamence did his best to smack away at the boulders with his claws and wings. He sustained a some damage - the Aggron was clearly not attacking full force thanks to Bakuryuu's Intimidate. Anyone that stood in front of this dragon knew the dangers of battle.
"Lightened up and made faster by Autotomize, Aria scaled the rocks..."
Dodged with Zen Headbutt, used Fly
There it was that was the opening right there. As the Aggron's mouth opened to release the destructive beam Nick would capitalize. "Zen Headbutt and take her up with Fly." Nick would watch as his dragon would swoop down his speed increased with the psionic dash. It was like a boom in the sky once he got wind. He would narrowly miss the closer aimed Ice Beam and would ram into the rock in which the Aggron stood upon. Now if Aria would leap to avoid the incoming Salamence that would make it all the easier for his next maneuver. If she stayed put the splitting rock would surely knock off her balance and would make it quite the obstacle to change direction or move, leaving her open to be grabbed and lifted away into the air.
The point was either way - Bakuryuu would be there to grab the lighter Aggron and take the steel monster into the sky with Fly. Unfortunately, using Fly and taking Aria with him left him wide open. Locking on to the Aggron put him at the most vulnerable point. Nick knew this was a suicide bomb type of plan. He expected she would rage ice beams - which would make sense. The dragon had no way of avoiding, while holding on to the Aggron. Nick was a power player, he didn't like to be push he would do the pushing. Hopefully Bakuryuu's stamina would hold well as the dragon darted upward into the sky.
ooc - lol phasing through the protect? lol they don't need to use protect lol that's kinda like straining on the poor birds. and nick must explore her past.
Stellar let out a small barrage of curses under her breath, though it was directed at herself for failing to realize what the dragon moved to do. As Bakuryuu reached in and smashed the stage of rocks, Aria chose to grab hold of the dragon. The dragon carried Aria upwards, though it would take more than that to defeat the Steel Type. Up in the air, though, it's certainly worrying.
The flying went higher and higher and frantically, Stellar waved her hand. Her two Archeops broke their Protects just moments before the dragon flies upwards. The trainer sighed in relief that the two birds weren't strained;. Their Protect are the best of the best in her team; can be even considered better than Aria's because of their near daily practice of that move, but she still won't risk both getting that strained.
All the while, the Trapinch stared, from the sidelines.
Up in the air, they are alone, and it's up to the Pokemon to be able to battle themselves. Aria's grip was tight, but she has no fear of falling. Why fear, when she knows how to land? What makes the Salamence thing that height is an advantage? Aria jumped down from a cliffside before, far higher than now, down a waterfall, and this is just one of the many heights she faces.
Holding on to Bakuryuu, the Aggron open her mouth, the light blue beam emitting from her mouth. This time, she didn't fire the Ice Beam straight on; no, something else was merged with the Ice Beam, a strange, pulsing, dark blue light.
Dragon Pulse.
It was a Dragon Pulse and Ice Beam combo, and the result is a beautiful blast. The Ice Beam came out in the form of rings, combined with powers and not at all lowered by Bakuryuu's Intimidate, since both are special attacks.
Aria released the hold, fully expecting the Salamence to let go as well, bracing for the inevitable fall. Either way, even with Autotomize, the Aggron is still too heavy to hold on, considering are some of the heaviest Pokemon alive.
And down under, Stellar chose to look at the surroundings, taking note of what to use when Aria comes back, because that's her job as a trainer, to supplement her Pokemon in battle and not just command them.
Notes
Pulling the Protect down for a moment before it shatters. Stellar's too nice to allow the environment to be on fire again like yesterday, especially since she knows Rai is there. And no worries for the Archeops; they have pulled off stronger Protects than those before. Exploring her past? Maybe when they meet up in the desert.....when he sees her kill.
Damn. Nick was caught off guard to the steel beast having two attacks in which the dragon was weak. The power combination, hit Bakuryuu dead on. There was no guard. The dragon's hands would immediately let loose as he began to fall to the ground with the Aggron. That attack took a lot out of him, that was definitely a suicidal mission. But he had to finish the ploy. Another hit and it would be curtains for the Salamence.
Nick could see the two falling in the distance. He braced himself for a huge surge because they were going to hit hard. Coming to his senses, the dragon would flap his wings to break his decent. Roaring as a sign of him still being able to fight he would speed aside the aerial beast. 'Burn.' The dragon said as he sped down under the Aggron. Being able to change his speed and direction was a pleasure Aria could not afford mid air. Nick's eyes were intense as he watched his dragon was getting a little leeway and acting on his own accord fight now.
Hit by the ubergodtier Ice Beam & Dragon Pulse, used Heat Wave & Draco Meteor
A beautiful pallet of flames would grace the skies. It was Heat Wave. The widespread wave would be unavoidable since it was aimed at the backside of the Aggron and unless she could somehow turn in midair and defend, the attack would land successfully. The fiery volley would then be followed up with, "Draco Meteor!" Nick yelled to the skies as he saw the chance he had to do something grand. Nick was not a fan of using this move, since it was so destructive but this might be his only chance. This was a dragon's holy grail - the ultimate move. A roar would be sent to the sky and orange cosmic energy would collect near instantaneously. Meteors would fire like a turret from the orb and bring down a raining mass! The energy covered meteors were heading straight for the Aggron at her fall - no mercy.
ooc - so epic steel dragon roar of death. that was like 8x effective? 6x? sheesh that was not nice lol your pokemon are animals and you are too. but stella has been so sweet so far.
Stellar surely didn't expect Bakuryuu to still be able to survive the hit. Having been so far up in the air, she had just only guessed what Aria, and her guess had involved Rock Slides and Ice Beam. Ria was a step of her, as always, and that was a beautiful combo. She's so proud of the Aggron, but here lies another problem.
If the Salamence had fainted, then at least Stellar knew what Aria could do to land safely. This left them with no choice, especially with the rain of flames and dragon power at it's finest raining down and Stellar blinked. Aggrons are wonderful creatures, the best, for Stellar, of course, and the Draco Meteor can be taken easily. The Heat Wave can be survived easily too, but it hurts Stellar to see Aria injured, because it seems to hurt her too.
There's only one way.
Aria knew it too.
As the Draco Meteor and Heat Wave rained down, the Aggron's body began to glow, before a light green force field, by now should be something familiar to all participants, surrounded the Steel Type, blocking all attacks. Protect held strong, taking the blows from the Draco Meteor and Heat Wave nicely, but the blows have only quicken Aria's fall, and she have concentrated the most on defending herself from the attacks.
When the Aggron landed, the battlefield shook. Stellar crouched down, giving herself the much needed stability when everything is shaking, but her eyes kept on the battlefield, her heart thumping and she fancied she could hear her blood roaring in her ears.
The smoke barely cleared when a sharp beam of light shot upwards, Aria wasn't about to let the fall break er attack momentum, continuing the barrage with another Ice Beam.
Notes
Surrounded self with Protect, having intended to use that to break the fall, but changed strategy. Thus, the fall is totally unbroken, made even faster by the force of the Draco Meteor and the Heat Wave, even if they did no additional damage. The ground shook when such a heavy beast fell at that speed, and that's probably what hurts Aria the most right now.
That was an interesting combo, yes. Stellar survived by being underestimated. Both a saving grace and a problem.
That suicidal bomb needs a little work. The risk Nick took was not worth the result. The incoming Ice Beam would be intercepted with the Salamence's Heat Wave. Unfortunately due to the nature of Draco Meteor the attack was significantly smaller and weaker. It was enough to hold the incoming attack off and caused the oh-so-common explosion of epic proportions. Bakuryuu roared as he flapped his wings vigorously and would prepare to come to the ground. The dragon was in rage, but he was severely weakened. The beast was panting and tired. A red light covered the dragon as Nick decided to take him out this round.
"I see this big guy is going to be a pain in my ass." Nick said as he released another Pokemon. "Slow, big ass hunk of metal bout to get knocked out baby." Nick said with a smile. His Infernape cracked his knuckles - he was full of energy and stamina. He wanted some revenge. Oh yes, in the blink of an eye Ral was gone too. Oh he was about to go full speed, if she thought she saw something in the forest - well right now he would be in the face of the Aggron. His fist was cocked back and there was a coolness in his eye as his first was covered by a white energy. The energy shaped itself into a blade as he manifested Swords Dance. His speed was insane due to his body lightening up for "Mach Punch."
Used Swords Dance & Mach Punch
Oh shit. The Infernape's cocked arm would attempt to knock the Aggron off balance. Nick had decided to go with a David versus Goliath approach, hopefully it would pay off.
ooc - pressed for time sorry for the crappy post. tags - @stellar
The Salamence being returned caught Stellar off guard; for a moment, she was ready to switch out too, maybe sent another Pokemon in to back Aria up, fighting dirty two as two against one. Halt, and she remembered that this is a legal match, thus no cheating, no unfairness, only raw power and skill, and Stellar stood just a little straighter.
Rai is out and he's dangerous, and there's no way Aria could match the fighting type's speed, not at all. The hit send Aria tumbling backwards, and Stellar winced at the force, feeling the pain as though as she got hit herself.
Aria was the faster thinker, apparently, and when the Mach Punch had hit, a roar was ripped, the roar pained, but there was odd silver aura with it, the power of Metal Burst. It's one of her last resort attacks, returning 1.5 x the damage that had been done to the user, and considering the damage done was boosted by the Swords Dance....well, Rai was in a lot of trouble, having gotten so near with the Mach Punch after all.
Whether the Metal Burst did anything was something that Stellar would see but Aria wouldn't wait for. The Meta Beast stood up after the punch with a grunt, and she opened her mouth, a large jet of water shooting from it's mouth to Rai, the power of Surf.
Stellar's eyes blinked, watching the battle. A sudden squawk, and much to her surprise, one of her Archeops' joined her side. It's Plume, the proud female ruffling her feathers. Before Stellar could ask what happened to their Protect strategy, the Archeops pointed to where her male partner is. A tinier coo, it seems like they have an idea of sorts, and Plume wants to join the match.
Quiet, before Stellar relented. Why not, since her Archeops seems to have an idea to protect the battlefield without exerting too much energy. She will just have to trust them.
Plume blinked, looking from her trainer to the battlefield. She had a feeling Aria is going to be switched out soon, not because the Metal Giant can't do anymore. More like Stellar doesn't want ria to get hurt anymore, and probably will switch out soon because of that.
Notes
No problem. <3
Summary for the battle : As Aria got hit by the Mach Punch, she let out a pained roar, that roar being Metal Burst. Then, she was thrown backwards, before standing up and aiming a Surf.
Meanwhile, Plume comes down from one of the trees. Seems like between the both Archeops, they decided they only needed one to hold up the Protect strategy, thus enabling Stellar another Pokemon option.
Ral was fired up alright. He landed a solid hit, but he wasn't done yet. The pulse from Metal Burst rattled his body slightly as he kept his fist up and firmly stood his ground. Due to his typing the attack was not really that effective. Aria had the upper hand against Bakuryuu no doubt - Nick did not anticipate the Dragon Pulse nor Ice Beam - but that was okay. Stella had seen Ral in battle before so she knew he was just waiting for an opening to use his fighting move. But thanks to that successful punch she just gave it to him.
In the midst of the giant stumbling back - Ral would already be on the ground and on foot covering the short distance. "Same combo." Nick called. The ape would jolt to the side as the bladed energy surrounding his fist began to spout out even more. As Aria was releasing the widespread gush of water at Ral's last position the speedier monkey would be at the side of her jaw outside the range of her attack. "Infer!" He yelled in his native tongue. He drew his arm back and would attempt another Mach Punch. "You might move twice as fast, but you are still slower than my Infernape. Your best bet is to switch." Nick ruled.
Hit by Metal Burst, dodged Surf
Used Swords Dance & Mach Punch
"Aggron's are physical creatures. Why are you even using attacks meant for long distance against a faster and more apt close range fighter? At least get some distance before you start blasting, Ral is already close and on your ass - so just switch out because you are not gonna get the distance you need. You should attend PokeSchool Stella."
It wouldn't be right if the trainer didn't take his opponent to school. She obviously forced his hand by having him switch out, but she was doing terrible handling Ral. Nick was waiting for her to give him a good opening, he just needed one good hit to finish Aria. But hopefully she would take his plentiful advice. If not Nick would continue to force her hand. The young man was a little more lax now, not as concerned as he was when Bakuryuu was battling. Lets see what Stella does.
ooc - summary. while aria stumbled back, ral would land and use swords dance again as he took damage from metal burst which is not very effective against him. as she launched surf since she only stumbled back they were still pretty close so i am sure he is fast enough to get back in her face again (on the side avoiding the surf) and use mach punch. meanwhile nickol was running his mouth trying to school you.
The fact that it is a same combo allowed Stellar to think a little, however little. Listening to what Nick had to say, however, was interesting. To Stellar, Aria was nothing short of perfect, and the fact that she's physical is something she considered not so very important. She had no idea what Nick meant by long distance, after all, any attack is stronger when shot near, unless some special requirement was needed. Even then, shooting something none effective could push an opponent away, which wasn't too bad in itself.
"I couldn't finish Pokeschool," was her only reply to the last part, "Unable to."
And no, she actually didn't graduate from Pokeschool. Couldn't, not in her history or situation, and most of the stuff she knows are incomplete, typing that she roughly memorize but never perfected, things used more for raw survival. An awkward revelation, considering most people would be wondering how the heck she developed this kind of strategizing, this mindset while not taught about legal battling.
Either way, Aria was gone before the second Mach Punch landed, disappearing in a flash of light. Stellar can't see her getting anymore hurt, it hurts her more and more and it's ridiculous, so Ria is coming back to her side. She noted Nick's lax posture; a mistake, in her mind, because one cannot be relax until you are safely out of the battlefield and knowing you are alive.
Plume saw it too, and in fact, the Archeops was faster, faster than anyone else, entering the battlefield as soon as the button on Aria's pokeball is pressed. Ina wild, no rules battle, she would have entered the battlefield far earlier to assist Aria, but this is a legal battle, isn't it?
As soon as Aria was returned, Plume launched herself from Stellar's side. The Archeops' a speed demon; Stellar haven't seen much that can outrun Plume. The Archeops is already matching Rai's initial speed without much sweat, being on the top, fastest Pokemon that ever existed, and a light, white-ish outline that glowed just for a brief moment created something unimaginable.
Plume ran, and looked liked she teleported from a place to another. Her speed was boosted doubled by Agility, and the Archeops took to the air. Sharp stones appeared, and wit a quick swipe launched towards Rai. Stellar barely blinked; she remembered the time Stone Edge were used to draw blood.
Meanwhile, the Trapinch's attention was caught entirely, especially since Aria was defeated, even if it nearly took two Pokemon and pure typing advantage.
Notes
Stellar never graduated pokeschool, lol.
Summary for the battle : As the Mach Punch landed, Ria was returned. Plume (Archeops) joined in the battlefield, easily doubling her faster than Infernape speed twice with Agility, flying upwards and using Stone Edge.
Finally. Nick would return Ral at the sight of the raging stones. He wanted her to use Archeops, this was his moment. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get this Archeops on the field before Bakuryuu had suffered some damaged, but nonetheless. The red and white orb would be removed from his pouch and he would hold it out forward pressing the button to release his dragon. Bakuryuu came out roaring again, but you could tell he had not recovered from his battle with Aria yet. Archeops had a great advantage to be honest.
Used Fly, then Dragonbreathe
"Bakuryuu use Fly, then aim a Dragonbreathe." Nick ordered. The beast would muster up a gust of wind as his wings began to flap. He would dart towards the aerial prehistoric Pokemon and attempt to ram into the avian. Whether successful or not, the now closer dragon would aim at wherever his mark was and fire off a Dragonbreathe; if not interrupted by his opponent. Nick had hoped Archeops did not know any ice moves or dragon type attacks, because that would just make it uglier for the Salamence. Nick had his fingers crossed with this one. Damn I need a good water type! He thought. He realized that all the Pokemon of Stella that he faced could have been better dealt with had he had a water-type Pokemon. In whatever typing he chose, he would make it a priority to acquire one with an aqua affinity.
Stellar was a little surprised at the abrupt switch, but there's that, she suppose. She expected him to choose another Pokemon, not Bakuryuu, who looked like he needed the rest. Though, there are trainers that pushed their Pokemon to their limits, not that Stellar likes to do that, even though sometimes, the situation calls for it.
There's no way she's switching back to Aria. Unless the Aggron calls for it, Stellar's not switching at all, deeming it enough for the metal type. Besides, Plume looks like she's rocking it.
Plume is truly liking this, to battle fiercely, but without the fear of death, once more. From the corner of her eyes, she could see her mate, Sam, looking worriedly up at her, and she nearly snorted, though warmed by the display. She'll do good and won't get hurt too much, she hoped, in case she worries her mate too much.
The Archeops is still lightning fast, and considering that the Salamence is slower than the Infernape, she must seem three times faster. As if to up that limit, Plume glowed with Agility again, now truly zipping across the sky like she owns it, in this case, she might as well have. It was easy to dodge the Fly, but she couldn't fly backwards, flying upwards to dodge that move and got her tail singed by the Dragonbreath instead. A squawk, and a circle of extremely sharp rocks flew towards the dragon type again, Stone Edge once more. It's already a super effective move, even if Stellar didn't know, the Archeops knew, for that's what her former trainer taught her before, but the First Bird Pokemon is also hoping for a critical hit, since this move has an increased chance of it.
Notes
Oh, I was assuming you assumed Pokeschool as proper schools, in which Stellar didn't graduate from those either.
Summary for the battle : Plume dodged the Fly, having used another Agility earlier, tail got singed by the Dragonbreath. Then, Stone Edge once more.
"Protect!" The Salamence roared as he flew towards the incoming rocks, a giant orb reflecting around him bouncing the rocks off left and right. He Archeops was definitely a fast one. Bakuryuu had a problem now since he was being out sped like this. Nick had to come up with something. They were up in the air now, good range for Draco Meteor. However, it was easily fended off in its last firing so Nickol did not care to see a repeat. "At east Bakuryuu." Nick ordered. He had to formulate something and quick, but right now he had nothing. This Archeops didn't strike him as have a variety of moves, so he could use that to his advantage. Stone Edge is the way to go, since her bird is a rock type. But at the speed it is now, a direct attack will be quite ineffective. A long range shot would be too. Nick thought as he shuffled through his thoughts. Bakuryuu was tired, panting harder as he watched the prehistoric Pokemon zip around the skies.
Used Protect
ooc - hmmm do you have to go? i wonder if pokeschool is like high school and stuff for kids. tags - @stellar
Plume looks a little disgruntled that her Stone Edge was blocked/missed twice now, but the only one that could catch her expression is her mate. Sam let out a screech of encouragement, startling some other bird Pokemon from nearby trees if they aren't startled by the battle already.
Another glow, Plume is not letting up on the Agility, upping her speed to the maximum, still up in the air. She did a high arc in the sky, before diving downward then turning at the last moment, throwing the Stone Edge she have formulated at Bakuryuu, hoping for a hit this time.
Meanwhile, Stellar looked around. Sam is there, encouraging Plume as he always does. The male Archeops is ridiculously sweet at times. A turn around reveals the Trapinch staringintensely at the battle, a gleam in his eyes that Stellar haven't seen for a while. It's as though as he's thinking something, and the gleam is not that anger, that anger that makes him refuse to listen to her at all.
Notes
Maybe it's a side tuition thing? Best go if you want to be a proper trainer and stuff?
Summary for the battle : Plume does Agility once more, maximizing all speed. Then, Stone Edge after a loop in the air, to maximize the force of the throw.
"She did a high arc in the sky, before diving downward then turning at the last moment"
It was that moment. Bakuryuu would let out an almighty roar as the skies once again was covered with meteors. Focusing all his energy on this attack, he would charge forward to intercept the incoming rocks. This was much to Nickol's dismay, as he watched his Salamence take the devastating blow. Being aerial assisted this attack - it was formed right behind the 'throwing' bird. Being in the middle of releasing an attack and being so high up and near the point of release for the meteors would make this attack quite unlikely to get any type of defense up in enough time. Especially since 'Meanwhile, Stellar looked around'. Even if her trainer did give heads up or the Archeops it would be miraculous. The meteors would swarm from all sides as Bakuryuu fell from the sky. His wing was severely damaged by the sharp rocks - his only saving grace was his Intimidate ability.
Bakuryuu used Draco Meteor, then fainted
His eyes began to shut as he watched the sky was lit up with his meteors. He was almost at the ground - but before he made it his eyes shut. The results of his attack unknown as he was swallowed by a red light. The PokeBall was minimized and the ivory crown trainer's face was blank. He was filled with anger. He was filled with confusion. Was his training rusty? How had a girl taken down his main powerhouse? He wasn't the type to tell his Pokemon they did well after he returned them. That was cheesy and for kids. He spent quality time with the Pokemon he trained and knew how to make them all feel respected and appreciated. Nonetheless, to kept the flow of the battle he would watch the results of the meteor and would proceed to release his next Pokemon.
Cero was released
ooc - pokeschool is in the manga. doesnt seem necessary to be a trainer though. sheesh these kids are dumb at ten they travel the world, with like a fifth grade education. whoa.
