The only thing that Zernebog had felt when the brat hugged him was sheer irritation. Why sheer irritation? Because it made past memories rush back like a tidal wave. An annoying and painful tidal wave that was filled with the suffering and constant exasperation of both him and his pokemon during the times that he had to babysit her on Ricki’s orders when she felt like punishing him for something. The bitch.
Well he hoped that ignoring her would make her get the message that he didn’t want to talk to her. Maybe snubbing her would make her get the message that he found her to be absolutely annoying and that most of the time when he was around her she made his blood pressure rise. It was a thought to cheer him up with as he turned left and continued walking.
“Hey!” Zernebog bet that someone up there was having a ball with his predicament. He was sure of it.
Zernebog kept his back to her, resisting the urge to say something sarcastic about that ego of hers. He continued to pretend that she was just air as he continued walking, but his plans were shot down in flames when Ramona actually had the nerve to stop him and berate him for ignoring her. He gave Ramona a glare for a few seconds before sighing. Why the hell did he promise to behave again? Oh, right. Ramona gave the most annoying self-righteous lectures ever.
”You’re terrible, you know that Ramona?” Zernebog turned around to glance at the brat with half-lidded eyes. ”Fancy seeing you here, brat.” He remarked as if he didn’t see her and talk to her earlier.
”Didn’t know this was your show.” I wouldn’t have come if I’d known. Zernebog deadpanned, keeping the last part only in his own head.
Zernebog then stopped and turned around, a half-annoyed, half-bored look on his face as he waited for the rest of them to catch up. Ramona griping about their slowness was already inducing the beginnings of what he was sure was one hell of a migraine, making him wonder why he was stuck with two children. Well, at least the other two guys in the group looked sane-
Zernebog paused at the thought upon looking at the man in the half-shirt. Okay, maybe the black haired kid was sane. Probably. But from his interactions with Ronnie, he concluded that he came in with her so he wasn’t sure how sane he really was. Well, he had to hope because it would really suck if he was the only sane person in here.
Before he was able to say or do anything else though, Diomedes suddenly started shaking his arm. ”Lucario!”
Zernebog turned around to look at Diomedes, who somehow managed to look a little ashen through his fur and his closed eyes. His eyes immediately narrowed in alarm, because he’d rarely ever seen Diomedes with that look on his face. ”What is it Dio?”
”Lu lu lu!” Diomedes immediately started pantomiming a wave and angry bugs, enabling Zernebog to get the gist of what he was warning them about.
Achilles on the other hand, being a pokemon, understood what Diomedes was saying perfectly and grinned wickedly. Yay~ something awesome is happening! He’s gonna get to see action now!
Unlike his pokemon though, Zernebog wasn’t nearly as enthusiastic. ”…Right. How long until they get here?” Upon the Lucario tapping the spike on his paw twice, Zernebog nodded.
”Right. Achilles?” The aforementioned land shark immediately snapped up to Zernebog with shiny eyes. ”Make a wall for us, will you? Make sure it’s airtight as you can possibly make it.”
”Gi!” Achilles stomped on the ground and raised both of his hands as if he was lifting a weight. Large jagged rocks suddenly erupted from the ground behind the two guys and their pokemon, blocking the exit roughly and leaving as little space as possible. However, given the roughshod look of it, the wall still needed some work.
”To the people with fire pokemon,” Zernebog began, eyeing the black haired boy and the brat meaningfully. ”Or pokemon with fire-type moves, please seal up the wall with flames as fast as possible. Now I know I’m just springing this on you suddenly, but we need to block that giant wave of hostile bugs hungry for flesh that Dio is telling me that’s coming. And make it quick, ‘cause we’re bailing outta here as soon as its done.”
He didn’t want to boss people around right now, but this needed action now and since Diomedes sensed them first then he had no choice but to act now. ”The wall’s gonna buy us some time, so please move it with the flames already!”
”Fancy seeing you here, brat. Didn’t know this was your show.”
Well, it wasn't exactly the reaction she was hoping for but she could work with it. Plastering that devil's smile on her face as she raised her hand up bashfully behind her head. "Yeah, " she said in a slow flirtatious drawl casting her eyes down and off to the side before looking back up at him hopeful. "I'm a coordinator now. " The explanation lacking detail at first as she grinned, hoping that her career choice would meet his approval. "This'll be my second show, I took the grand prize at the Sevii Island Festival." the tone of puffed up proud evident in the way she shifted her weight and stood taller with her shoulders back and chest out. Any closer and she'd have a neon sign flashing over her head of "notice me" evident as she waited for acknowledgement.
None came however, his eyes moving from her and over past her shoulder to Kanoa and Judge Rosenburg causing her to shift slightly and looking back as well. What was he looking at them for? Ronnie moved again, this time shifting over to stand on the far side of Kanoa realizing maybe Big C was was simply waiting on her to put the money where her mouth was and show him what she could do.
She started to lean over and ask Kanoa if it'd be all right for her to take out her Pokemon when Zerne's Lucario called out and tugged at his arm. She looked down at it and smiled proud of herself for knowing the type as Rep, Ricki's Lulu, was one too. It seemed almost urgent and for a split second she wondered if maybe the Pokemon had recognized her from T.V. and was explaining to him. That dream of course was all shot to hell when the conversation with his Pokemon spiraled down into the little shark waddling past and rearranging the path behind them. literally, giving it a face lift. Dust kicked up and rocks crumbled as the earth moved and rose up causing Ronnie to stumble back and shield her eyes with one arm.. Just exactly what the hell was going on?! Her head snapped over to him with an angry questioning look., 'What the hell was that for?' her mind snapped as she looked down at her clothes that were powdered with a fine layer of dirt then back to the wall which made her head tip back looking up at it.
”To the people with fire Pokemon,”Ronnie started to grin excitedly and raise her hand till he met her with a look that froze her arm mid way up her chest. Her hand turning and curling her fingers back and grasping at the shoulder of her shirt.
'What?' Ronnie looked at Zerne in trepidation as if he was possibly on drugs or some sort of hallucinogen that had yet to effect the rest of them. "Big C are you sure you're..." She let her words trail off as she looked behind them at the wall.. ”The wall’s gonna buy us some time, so please move it with the flames already!”
"Or give em a diving board to jump off of." she said in an off handed mutter as she looked back down and started to dust off her shirt and glittery jeans. The world worked in mysterious ways, Ronnie's mind wasn't exempt from it. Looking over at Kanoa she wondered what sort of orders he'd give her. She already had a hand on her pokeball. "You think this is part of the contest?" She asked him biting her bottom lip and readying herself to put on a show.

Letting his attention shift, Kanoa let Ronnie carry on ahead to do as she pleased and simply let his focus rest on William. Both of them shared a common feeling of desire to get out of this maze. Granted Kanoa was wondering if there was really even an issue to be had in the first place. This was a Contest right? Halloween, and the like, maybe this was just part of the show, but it was set up all wrong? Then he recalled his history with these events, the standards, rules, laws set up for these kind of things. Going through the process that it would take to be able to set up such an intricate event in his head, it quickly became apparent that this was indeed a very off occasion. He could practically smell the bullshit, but he didn’t say it.
His focus merely rested on William as he began his response to Kanoa’s inquiry. Like a man giving a speech, the golden judge made sure to address the fact he was a credible source before getting to actually answering the question, which made Kanoa quirk a brow. His gaze shifted back ahead though and he simply nodded as the other spoke to him. As William claimed to be guarding Ronnie, Kanoa let out a low hum of acknowledgment, his gaze trailing over to his Houndoom walking at Ronnie’s side. Eyeing the trio in front of him as they chatted, he paid no mind to the blue-haired girl’s demands. He and William had been walking already and were keeping pace just fine behind the energetic trio. Ronnie pestering Zernebog to try and reel him in, but Zernebog not taking the bait was certainly a show, but it wasn’t something that tickled Kanoa’s fancy. After William’s answer, Kanoa just fell silent in thought and watched the others along with their environment. For a moment, Ronnie looked to him as if to ask something, but she’d never get a chance to ask her question.
It would be as she leaned over that Zernebog’s Lucario would suddenly demonstrate a level of worry that got Kanoa on edge himself. He watched the Pokémon make a show to try and convey to his trainer just what was the harboring issue, and Kanoa patiently waited for the update. Hearing the questions Zernebog was asking, Kanoa slowly turned to look back as he walked. For just a moment, through the fog and the lowering light of the evening slowly approaching a transition to night… He could see it, the Pokémon just slowly starting to crawl out of their holes. It didn’t take long for him to recognize what it was crawling out, either. Obnoxious little buggers, he’d know them anywhere just from the shimmering blue shell and his days messing with them in Unova. The acidic slime they’d spit, the irritable natures, Karrablast were annoying enough as is, but these? These looked different, angry, maybe even rabid at this point. Before he could say a word though, the white haired trainer was on the move.
A wall shot up to present an obstacle between them and the Pokémon that had been crawling out. Kanoa simply ignored the dirt that showered them as the wall rose up, and his focus shifted over to Zernebog. This guy had knew what he was doing, apparently. Kanoa didn’t even have to wait for the bleach white haired fellow to finish his words before he muttered Scorch’s name. The muttering earned the Houndoom’s attention and as Kanoa jerked a thumb at the wall, the message was clear given the situation. Following the motion, Kanoa moved to grab Ronnie’s wrist and begin to lead her away from the wall. He was careful to make sure she didn’t trip or stumble in the heeled boots she’d decided to wear. Hearing her question before he began to guide her away, Kanoa was silent for a moment.
“Yes, I think this is all part of the quote, unquote, Contest” he answered, pausing for a moment to look back. “And that’s the worst part” he softly growled, hinting to the fact he believed this to all be some sort of set up of death. Once the other members of the party had moved away from the wall, Scorch, and other Pokémon that had come out, began to follow instructions and consume the wall in a blaze. The humidity was enough to prevent the fire from igniting the maze, but it was still too dangerous to stay close. Kanoa’s eyes trailed over to the others, before he once more continued a speed walk ahead with Ronnie’s safety being the utmost priority in his head. He was terrified, there was no doubt, but this was what a Hasan had to do.

Sorry for the wait guys, I totally lost track of time. And sorry for the bleh post. Houndoom is using Flamethrower on the wall to hold back the Karrablast swarm for the time being.

The tension between Lady Rillito and the other man at the front of the group was self-evident to the Golden Knight, who simply moved with the rest of the group, his Haunter to his right. Once Sir Hasan had moved onward to pay attention to the others, the Golden Knight simply minded his own business, and while perfectly willing to be friendly with the rest of them, he felt that it would be wiser to permit them their privacy. Instead, he walked forward, to the blue-haired one.
"Well, this is quite the interesting challenge. Exciting, non?", he began, a wide smile on his face. She had seemed eager enough to extend friendly demeanors beforehand - hopefully, that demeanor would stay. As they moved, he kept pace with her, Boo floating at his side.
"My name is William Rosenbach, by the way. A pleasure to share this adventure with you." He politely added.
He was going to continue, but a sudden sound and such filled the area. The buzzing of wings and the swarming sound of bugs was clear in the air, making the Golden Knight look back, searching for a source. Suddenly, the bluenette's companion's Pokemon raised a wall of rock, as he said "To the people with fire Pokemon, or pokemon with fire-type moves, please seal up the wall with flames as fast as possible. Now I know I’m just springing this on you suddenly, but we need to block that giant wave of hostile bugs hungry for flesh that Dio is telling me that’s coming. And make it quick, ‘cause we’re bailing outta here as soon as its done.”
Curses, William didn't have any Pokemon that could help. Instead, he stood back as he watched everyone else light the wall on fire. "My apologies, but I have no source of Fire - let us move, I shall take the point and, hopefully, prevent any further threats." He commented, and when they seemed ready to leave, the Golden Knight began forward, running fast down the corridor, his armor-like vest not an issue. His Haunter flew at his side, ready to attack any possible threat.
"This might be dangerous, but we are quite prepared, are we not, Boo?" he exclaimed in an excited voice to his Pokemon as they dashed down the hall, an energized grin on his face.
