Friends: Despite his far more extroverted nature since middle school, these people are still far and few for Ryusuke - while he tends to earn at least small amounts of goodwill here and there as a result of his Mr. Fixit talents as well as his seemingly inexhaustible knowledge base, most of those people were merely considered acquaintances by Ryusuke himself. Generally speaking, Ryusuke tends to get along far better with people older than himself although anyone who puts forth an effort or who spends enough time around Ryusuke will likely end up in this category short of completely violating his own moral code.
Writer's note: To be honest, this is the group I want a few people in the most for character development reasons. Anything goes, preferably just a few close friends that he runs into time and time again who he can come to rely on and vice versa.

Enemies: For his few good points there are a number of things about Ryusuke that can rub people the wrong way - his tendency to occasionally put his foot in his mouth during conversations, his often short, blunt and to the point nature, and half a dozen other little quirks and oddities. Aside from that, there are a handful of things Ryusuke himself tends not to tolerate either - bigots, first and foremost, with the second big one being people who treat others badly for no apparent reason. Also of note are his prosthetics which can be rather unsettling to a lot of people, and while he does go to certain lengths to avoid them being overtly attention drawing in public he draws the line at wearing long sleeved clothing to hide them. Finally, while Ryusuke typically isn't one to start fights, mess with his friends or family and he will do everything humanly possible to screw with you in turn, ranging from petty mischief to a full on vendetta hellbent on bringing you down.

Romance: As far as this goes Ryusuke is a mixture of old and new views - while by no means old fashioned in the sense that he looks down on other views of the subject, Ryusuke isn't going to be one for short term relationships and wants to get it right the first time if only because he feels that life is too short to spend on dead ends. All of that being said, Ryusuke is nothing if not loyal and understanding and while he would not be clingy in any sense of the word he would always be there should the other person merely ask.
Writer's Note: First and foremost, anyone interested in this would need to become a friend of Ryusuke's first before pushing for the next stage. While it's entirely possible that he would be the first to approach the other person if he felt strongly enough about them and was certain that it would be worth the effort in his mind, that would take time and the other person would be far better served by approaching him themselves - that being said it could work either way, though, so I'm up for any ideas along that front.

Other: Fairly well aware that the above three categories don't even come close to covering everything, so that's what this section is for. Considering that his parents were both outstanding trainers in their times (and his mother still presumably is), it's quite possible that a few of the older trainers he runs into who hail from Hoenn might know them - in addition to that he also has his dad's PokeNav and hasn't taken the time to go through the contact list, so people might come in contact with him that way as well.
What do you and Hoenn have in common? You're both Hot! Now go out with me! *coughs* At least that's how it went in her head but it sounded better.
