This was getting somewhat ridiculous.
Vincent had been up in the mountains for nearly two days at this point, with a very...colorful variety of adventures under his belt. From hordes of rolling geodudes to insane vullaby gangs, it had been a pretty spectacular if annoying journey. Yet as night fell once again he found himself no further toward his goal than he had been on the first day: he still didn't even have a hint of the pokemon he was looking for. It almost felt like he was going in circles around this crazy mountain, hoping to catch a glipse of the rare pokemon he sought.
Still, The professor was not giving up: he wanted this pokemon, so he was going to get it. Even if it took a couple days of hunting it, Vincent had every intention of finding it. He knew the threats on this mountain well, as well as the possible other wild pokemon in the area that might bother him, and he was more than prepared to deal with any of them even with his new team. All he had to do was keep putting one foot in front of the other, searching for that pokemon he was looking for, and eventually he would find what he sought.

...Not again.
It wasn't a sound Vincent was familiar with, but in this case he really was familiar with it for all the wrong reasons. The sound in question was the clack of hoofs from behind. Vincent knew that sound because it was the same sound a skiddo made when it charged him several days ago (Despite the fact that, back then, there had been snow on the ground). Turning around, Vincent immediately saw exactly what he expected:
A charging Skiddo attempting to attack him from behind for no particular reason. With a flick of his wrist, Vincent deployed the first pokemon that came to mind: one of his psychic types, Solosa. It didn't take him long to give his first command, either.
"Solosa, Psychic."
Not much to his surprise however, the Skiddo got the first attack off with a charging Horn Leech, smashing into the Solosis with pretty significant force. It wasn't enough to KO it, but it definitely hurt. The Solosis endured, however, and countered with Psychic, emitting a simple psychic blast that smashed into the Skiddo with equal force. The battle was not yet over, however.
The Skiddo once again attacked, this time deploying a series of seeds Vincent recognized: Leech Seed. Luckily, the Skiddo missed as the seeds attached themselves to a rock only inches away from Solosa instead of hitting the pokemon. The Solosa once again attacked with Psychic. That attack managed to do the trick as well: the second psychic blast smashed into the Skiddo, knocking it unconcious. Vincent let out a sigh of relief as the battle was over. He took a minute to check over his Solosis as much as possible (considering how difficult it was to tell how much damage it had taken) before returning it to its pokeball and continuing on his journey.

Another round of deja vu.
As Vincent continued up the mountain path, he saw a familiar pokemon guarding yet another bridge: this one, however, looked a little bit more menacing than a fighting type carrying a block of wood. If only because Vincent knew it to be. The pokemon in question was a meditite, and it looked ready to fight in its own, yoga-like pose. It was clear that Vincen't wasn't getting past it without a fight, either, as Vincent saw the signs of battle around it. Likely from his previous "opponents".
Vincent didn't even really bother to hesitate deploying a Ralts by the name of Amelia, a fairy/psychic type who seemed perfectly suited for the task. Her Fairy typing would make short work of the one who wanted to be one with the Universe. Despite the fact that it struck first.
The meditite opened with a devastating first assault, a mighty High-Jump Kick...Which, unfortunately for it, completely missed the ralts it was targeting, causing the fighting type to fall to the ground with a rather hard and damaging thud. Vincent did not miss the opportunity to strike at this point, knowing the battle was already practically in his hands.
"Ameilia, Draining Kiss."
Perhaps, in a motion that was more awkward than Vincent had expected, the Fairy type quietly skittered twoard the Meditite and gave it a rather big kiss on the lips. While it was unclear exactly how much damage it did (or if the damage was even the cause) the Meditite rather quietly passed out, its face looking somewhat red after the fact. Apparently that move had the added negative factor of also being terribly awkward to use. Vincent would have to remember that for the future.
Quietly returning Amelia to her pokeball, he continued his trek and search without incident, until...

Oh this was getting so old so fast.
It wasn't another five goddamn steps from the bridge when Vincent heard an unmistakable squawk from behind him, and upon turning around he saw exactly what he didn't want to see: another goddamn Vullaby. This one bearing the markings of the same hostile gang he had encountered before. Vincent was sick of running around, and his pokemon needed something to do (and some expereince fighting) so Vincent quietly tossed out a pokemon that he knew would get the job done quickly:
His Gible, aka Byte.
The battle proceeded much as Vincent expected, with his Gible acting much of its own accord and starting the battle with Sandstorm, creating a localized sandstorm around the bridge and it. The Vullaby seemed to have its image distort slightly before it smacked Gible quite hard with Feint Attack, though the strike only did moderate damage and brought it into very close proximity with the rather nibbly Byte. Right in front of it as a matter of fact. Which just so happened to be precisely where you did not want to be in almost any case.
The sandstorm flared up as Vincent saw Gible begin its assault with a powerful use of Dragon Rush, using its mouth and flailing claws to attach itself to the Vullaby that had dared to get too close to its mouth. The standstorm continued to grow in power, and Vincent actually could not get close to witness what was going on with the battle. Gible appeared to be getting better at creating more powerful sandstorms. When the sandstorm finally did subside, Vincent scanned the area for a moment and became slightly panicked when he did not see his dragon pokemon anywhere.
Until it popped out from the ground, apparently having used Dig for some reason. Oddly enough, the little dragon pokemon looked quite stuffed as well, which was strange until Vincent put two and two together. Oops. He did feel a little bit guilty, but his Gible seemed happy enough, quickly skittering up to him to be picked up. After picking up his Gible and effectively rocking it to sleep in his arms, Vincent quietly returned the small, now well fed dragon-type to its pokeball before proceeding.
Well, at least Byte was happy with how that turned out.

It literally almost ambushed Vincent.
As he was walking along a steep part of the mountain path, it burst forth from the rubble like an angry mole: A geodude that likely had come down from an earlier rockslide. Vincent nearly fell over and narrowly missed an opportunity to toss out a pokemon before his opponent had a chance to attack him:
Ein, his slowpoke in this case.
Ein's mere presence was at least a deterrent: instead of immediately attacking him, the geodude went after Ein, beginning the battle with a massive and powerful Stone-edge that burst forth from the ground below the slowpoke. The slowpoke likely took severe damage in Vincent's mind, if it wasn't almost KO'ed outright from the force. Except it wasn't. Ein somehow persevered through the attack, rather badly hurt despite his looks to the otherwise. Perhaps thats what was so gut wrenching about this particular attack: despite nearly having what very well could have been a KOing (or even fatal) attack, the slowpoke seemed to have that happy look on its face. Vincent didn't hesitate to give it an order of attack, however: there wasn't time for a switch before the geodude attacked again.
"WATER PULSE!"
Ein responded rather quickly for such a slow pokemon, firing off a strange, etheral blast of water at the geodude. Much like the stone edge, this attack hit home. Unlike the geodude's attack, however, the attack was easily a one-shot due to the double-weakness nature of the geodude. Thanks to this, in the single shot the rock/ground type fell to the ground unconcious.
Vincent quickly ran over to check on his Slowpoke. Thankfully, despite the injuries nothing looked drastic, but the slowpoke had taken quite a bit of damage. Had the attack been a critical hit, things could have likely gone much worse than they had...But much to Vincent's luck the slowpoke seemed to get lucky there. Still, it had been a close encounter, and Vincent decided he would move ahead and make camp for the night before resuming his hunt tomorrow.
