-Flash City "haunted alley"-
Well, this was quite something.
As a professor, Vincent was always on the hunt for particular pokemon. Pokemon he thought would be of value in their own way both to his research and to raise as an ally in his own personal journeys. Such a quest usually brought Vincent to many interesting and unique places, such as the highest of mountains, the vastest of fields, the deepest of waters, and of course, the dirtiest of cities.
This particular Pokemon was a unique one, and not one he had anticipated he would need. The pokemon in question was known as "Honedge". A steel-ghost type that had had a history of being a strange pokemon originating from the kalos reigon. Vincent had actually seen one or two from some kind trainers he had met whom were willing to show him the pokemon for him to take notes. To say it was unique was a bit of an understatement as well: Honedge was unlike anything Vincent had seen in quite awhile. Aside from the fact that it had one of the most unique mixture of types in the whole world, Honedge was also the only pokemon Vincent had ever met that was quite literally a living sword. A living sword with very unusual and sharp personality traits (no pun intended)
So Vincent found himself wandering what was supposedly the "haunted" streets of Flash City: some back alleys that pokemon such as Honedge were known to hang out in. Carrying an unusually large suitcase with Vincent's "Backup plan" in it, the Professor wandered, knowing that it would ultimately be up to his team to help him catch the elusive sword that could be stoned from the fumes that came from undiscernible locations in the back alleys of the city...
Hopefully Vincent would have some luck with this. And there were no sandiles.

....What?
Vincent couldn't even tell what was going on when something roughly the size of a large basketball with the consistency of pillow stuffing smacked him straight in the face, knocking him cleanly over on his duff with a loud thud. Blinking several times, he sat up and looked around for the source of the down projectile, and quickly spotted the culprit of the ferocious and fluffy foible: A small pokemon with a rather...stupefied look on its face. Like it had somehow swallowed an incredibly sour candy and had somehow become inebriated in the process of its digestion. It looked rather dirty too: with enough dust covering it that if it wore plastic wrapping one might mistake it for a trubbish.
The pokemon was quite easily idenfiable once Vincent coughed the dust out of his throat. It was a swirlix, a rather odd cotton-candy like pokemon know for being utterly delicious looking despite its inedible form. This swirlix, however, was anything but, as it had more in common with a large mutant Venomoth ball than its normally cotton candy-esque form. No, better to avoid this particular swirlix lest Vincent develop a spontanious and lethal dust allergy due to its ability to contain more dust than Vincent's sixth grade literature reading list. The swirlix itself didn't seem like it had any particular issues with Vincent very quickly making his way away from it, as it seemed to either be too distracted or drunk to care that it had literally just ran face first into the professor's face.
It would be better to leave the dust drunk swirlix alone than try to deal with it. It was clearly far more trouble than it was worth.
It was one thing to encounter one Pokemon, but on some rare occasions you might run into something truly unique: A roaming pack of Pokemon. Not just any Pokemon: but psychic types at that. The pokemon that Vincent had encountered were truly unique ones even among their own kind: Solosis (or plurally in this case, Solosi). They were easily identifiable as Vincent walked into the wide alleyway between two abandoned buildings: A group of six of them that appeared to be in some kind of horde. As Vincent approached, four of them scattered seemingly out of innate fear of seeing a person: two, however, remained behind. Instead of fleeing they slowly floated toward Vincent, their small, liquid atmosphere contained psychic creatures seeming more curious and playful than afraid. No, it wasn't that...
It almost seemed like they were lonely. It was a complete guess, but Vincent got the impression that they were lonely from the way they moved, seemingly without hesitation, twoard him. It was almost like they were attempting to size him up but knew what trainers meant on some level: conflict, combat, suffering...but at the same time Vincent got the impression that they were prepared for this: that the two solosis, together, wanted to see if Vincent was worthy of their power.
Vincent quietly pulled a pokeball from his coat, perhaps the most ideal pokemon for such a delicate encounter: A Gallade, otherwise known as Gallahade. The Charismatic and majestic psychic type stood between Vincent and the two solosis, and the solosis both responded: Both attacking with powerful psychic waves (Psychic) one after another. The powerful attacks struck home, but Gallahade remained standing and mostly unaffected, the difference in power between the solosis and the Gallade apparent. The response was a powerful use of Leaf Blade: a powerful, extending grass attack that the psychic sword-using pokemon swept across the two Solosis one after another: the damage was quite high, but the two pokemon persevered. Afterward, the Gallade then had enough time to utilize the (hopefully) ending attack of the battle as it released a powerful hypnotic wave of psychic energy at the two Solosis (Hypnosis). it worked rather well, as the two Solosi fell quickly asleep.
Vincent did not hesitate: quickly, he tossed one pokeball at both respective Solosi with considerable accuracy. As the two pokemon were seemingly contained in the pokeballs with little effort, Vincent simply waited to see if they broke out of containment before he would approach to pick up the small spherical containment units.
He just hoped this battle didn't spiral out of control if they did escape...

What Vincent wanted to have happen did not indeed happen, as both the solosis did indeed escape from the pokeballs that had been used to try and capture them. It was fortunate that they were indeed still asleep from the hypnosis: that prevented them from attempting a retaliatory strike against the Gallahade. Solosis did indeed have a tremendous amount of very powerful options at their disposal in combat, ones that could easily become very, VERY harmful if they were allowed to use them successfully.
So it was imperative that Vincent did not allow them to use those abilities as much as possible.
Vincent decided to not leave his Gallade alone knowing that this was not a job for it by itself. Despite its strength, it lacked the proper tools to deal with this particular threat. He instead sent out a second pokemon, A Jellicent otherwise known as "Pringler". If any pokemon could help with this problem, it would be Jellicent. As his Ghost/water type appeared, Vincent already had his orders in mind to try and bring the battle to as swift a conclusion as possible.
"Gallahade, Leaf Blade on one. Pringler, Hex on the other."
The order was simple enough and efficient enough: do as much damage as possible before the pokemon had a chance to wake up and inflict any damage upon his own pokemon. While the Leaf blade was only moderately effective, the hex would have its damage effectively increased due to the fact that the solosis it targeted was still asleep. Hex infliced additional damage when the target was hit with a status ailment, making it a very deadly and useful move in conjuntion with many tactics.
After the attacks hit, Vincent tossed two pokeballs, hoping once again to bring this battle to a conclusion before the two solosis woke up....

Vincent let loose a dejected sigh of relief as he saw the blinking light of the pokeball and heard an unmistakable sound. The two pokemon had been secured safely, and Vincent could now take them back to the lab and let them begin to get to know the other pokemon as well as treat their wounds with the healing device (courtesy of the pokemon center coproration). Quietly moving over and scooping up the two pokeballs, Vincent quietly put them in a separate "containment" part of his holster. For now they needed to be kept safe until he got back to the lab. As he was about to turn and continue his journey on the hunt for the honedge. As he did, a ring echoed from his pocket along with a heavy vibration.
It was his "Cell Phone". Specifically, the burner phone he used for his more...delicate work for his "ally". Quietly reaching into his pocket, Vincent pulled out the phone and, after looking to make sure his surroundings were clear, answered it. Waiting for someone to speak on the other side of the line, he quietly listened as someone spoke. While it wasn't clear what was said, what was clear was a slight frown that appeared on Vincent's face as he listened.
"...Are you sure?" he inquired in a serious tone, the hint of worry evident in his voice as he listed for confirmation of his fears. After a few more moments of listening Vincent let out a sigh before he spoke again.
"No, I'll take care of it, Make sure you pull assets out of the area until I give you the clear. We don't want any unnecessary complications. I'll send a confirmation when I've neutralized the threat." Vincent responded.
"Just make sure that you located all of them: we can't let this get any farther no matter what. You and I both know whats at stake here."
