POKÉMON TOURNAMENT
EXHIBITION MATCHES
EXHIBITION MATCHES
With the purpose of showcasing and promoting the wide variety of jobs the Pokémon League has to offer, a series of exhibition matches are being hosted in the Ranger Station in the Wilds. League members will be pitched into friendly matches amongst themselves, but everyone if more than welcome to come spectate them. These will consist of 3v3 singles matches, substitutions allowed, and will take place from April through July.
Official sign-ups begin now.
Entry requirements include Pokémon League membership (only characters filed under the Ranger, Gym Leader, or Professor classes may join in this ocassion), and a team of three (3) Pokémon.
Keep in mind that, while all matches will be considered as official League battles, one of the major reasons that led to the formulation of these exhibition matches was giving a place for gym leaders to prepare their teams for the tournament and the multiple challenges that will be leading up to it, so Pokémon of all stages and levels of training are encouraged.
Posting here does not sign you up for this tournament. Those willing to join will have an entire week to PM @luminescence with their team choices, including each Pokémon's Pokédex name, gender, ability, and moves, as well as whether they've earned the ability to mega evolve. Deadline is March 30th, 11:59PM (GMT-5).
On March 31st, individual threads for each match will be posted up, with a short introduction and a reminder of all the rulings that will be enforced.
BATTLE RULINGS
- One mega evolution will be allowed per character per match. However, it should be noted that all matches will be broadcasted in regional television, and so anything participants do will have site-wide implications.
- Failure to reply to your match within 72 hours will result in disqualification, unless prior notification has been given.
- All battles will be constantly looked over and reviewed by our battle coaches to avoid unfair methods or power playing. Minor faults will be treated as the yellow cards of a soccer game, and three minor faults will accumulate into a red card, or disqualification.
- Battle calculations must be done with Pokémon Showdown's calculator, and each post must include a detailed battle summary. Examples can be found here.
Tagging members who have shown interest in these exhibition matches: Bailey Finnigan, Sophia Lliwayne, Amber Kazuki, Arthur Symphonia, Madeline Flanoir, Elric Caulfield, Rikkan Aurelia.
