Let's see what we can do [Zone 1]

Jeesh, he was late to the Safari Zone. With all that he had been doing this month, Josh had been unable to find time to head to the Safari Zone. But now was the time, it seemed. They'd squared away a lot of what they were doing, now it was time for some Safari Zoning. As he would hand the receptionist his pass and receive his Safari Ball, Josh, along with Lightning who walked cheerfully behind him, would head to Zone 1, the Forest zone of the Safari Zone. They noted the trees as they passed, the calm, cool air, and hoped that they would find what they were looking for.

In particular? A Scyther or a Heracross. That was Josh's goal here. Both were admirable bug type Pokemon that would make great additions to his team. The question was... Would he be able to find either one here? Only time would tell.

It wouldn't take long for them to find something interesting though. Staring down at them from above was a Snivy, seeming curious... Yet devious. It would quickly leap down, going for Leaf Blade on Lightning. "Pika!" Lightning let out as he would jump back, his cheeks sparking. The Snivy obviously wanted a challenge, for some reason. "Lightning, you're an electric type. You'll have a hard time with this one" Josh would advise calmly before grabbing a Poke Ball from his belt. "Allow me" he said with a small smile as he would spin the Poke Ball on his finger, staring down the Snivy. "It seems to want a fight. I'll give it one... With a Pokemon I've spent a considerable amount of time training lately" He said as he would toss the ball into the air. "Go, Max!" Josh said as the capsule would open, bringing out his Growlithe, Max.

Josh chuckled as he would catch the ball when it came down. "Growl-Oooo!" Max would howl as he stood face to face with the Snivy, who would instantly go for a Leaf Blade. It was on! "Fire a Flamethrower to counter it, Max! Don't let it come close!" He would call as Max would unleash a big maws worth of flames toward the Snivy, forcing it to stop it's attack to jump away from the searing flames. Max's flames were getting stronger with each passing day. The more they practiced, the more they kept going, without letting up... The stronger his attacks got, the hotter the flames became. "Wild Charge!" Josh would call as the Growlithe would quickly attack, charging head on toward the Snivy as an aura of electricity would engulf the Growlithe. The Snivy was stunned, shocked at the sudden change of pace, and would be hit, hard. While Snivy was a grass type, and was resistant to electric attacks, this was the last attack that it was expecting. It would tumble back, though so did the Growlithe from recoil. Snivy would try to get up and use it's vines for Wring Out, but it didn't have time to attack after being stunned before Josh would call "Flamethrower!" And Max would quickly fire again, this time hitting Snivy dead on. Snivy would jump back from the flames after a moment and go for Leaf Blade, hitting Max this time, who let out a whine. "Don't let up, Max! You can do this!" Josh would encourage. "You can do it! Don't let up!" He would call to the Growlithe, who would bark in response before Snivy tried to go for Wring Out with it's vines again. 

"Max, bite into it and pull Snivy back!" Josh would call. The Growlithe would nod, sinking his teeth into the vines as they came near, causing the Snivy to cry out in pain as the Growlithe would pull, the Snivy following. "Flamethrower, close range!" Josh would call loudly, and Max would loose a barrage of flames, hitting Snivy hard with the Flamethrower. It couldn't take anymore... And fell to the ground as Josh would toss the Safari Ball.
