"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Hopping down the steps into the ruins once more, Yumi was excited to see what the old structure might hold on this search. Rather than bringing one of her bred for battle pokemon this time though, she decided to pull in one of her oldest team members, the Lairon Max. The shiny Lairon stumbling down the steps behind her, still with the ever "I love everything" smile present on his face, reaching the bottom of the steps with a light tumble and rolling so he fell on his rear, giving an excited cry as his eyes wandered about the room, wondering what it could have in store for him. Deadly OR friendly. Yumi could only chuckle.
"Come on ya little love bug. Can't have your kids standing stronger than you all your life can we?" Realizing Yumi was speaking of his daughter, the teams tyranitar, he was quick to rise, putting on a cartoonishly macho pose before storming after her into the ruins.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC CROWN! A crown made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With her feet snuggly in the slot between her Lairon's head scale and his back, Yumi was trying to keep a small map of the paths they were taking through the ruins. Thanks to the equally spaced pillars keeping the place structurally sound, it was easy for her to keep track of the size and scale of this place on some simple graph paper. Sure her lines got a bit bumpy as Max trudged along, but no mess too major that a quick scrub with her eraser wouldn't fix. "You doin okay there Max? This place ain't too scary for you I hope." He gave a happy purr like growl, clearly okay with the extra weight Yumi put on him and with no complaints about the ruins themselves, scooping up the odd loose bit of rubble in his maw and having a snack as he made progress, only halting when a pokemon crossed their path, a duskull emerging from a shadowy spot upon the roll.
Stuck in her map creating, Yumi was only really brought to the Duskull's attention when she realized they hadn't moved for a short while, lifting her head and spotting the duskull with some minor surprise, kind of used to her pokemon just rushing off into battle by now, but then again, she was with Max, and this little metal beasty tended to be more a lover than a fighter. Yumi gave a soft little chuckle as she stroked the tip of his helmet. "You don't have to fight it if you don't want to bud?" She was surprised again when Max shook his head, looking back to Yumi and giving her a look that was politely asking she removed herself from his back. Blinking in response, but also recalling that Max had been showing a want to evolve recently, she hopped off with a smile, giving the Lairon plenty of space to fight. "Take it away bud."
Screeching out to catch the Duskull's attention, finding it unfair to cath it off guard, Max would make sure he was staring down the single eye of the ghost type, holding a strong stance and putting his defense to use as he offered the first hit to his opponent. The shadow of the duskull seemed to be what took this oppurtunity, slipping accross the floor and striking up at the Lairon, acting almost like a physical object. Max stood strong against it, giving a confident screech and charging forward, pushing off the ground and striking hard with his iron head, nocking the duskull back with ease and forcing the ghost type straight into his next attack. He used a powerful strike of night shade, forcing max to groan in minor agony as it wrecked through him, but continued to charge nonetheless, his second strike ending in a powerful spin and a strike of his iron tail, sending the duskull back through the wall from whence it came.

Back atop Max and enjoying the ride, Yumi was busy finishing off the map. She made sure to draw in roots she had yet to go down and put a small not to travel down them later, rather than have them left blank and having her think later on that they were just some dead end she never bothered finishing. Max was happy with his work too, already feeling a little closer to evolving from all the effort on that last duskull. Yumi was sure to give him many a pet after that. Unlike most of her other trainees these days, Max was kind enough to let his opponent have the first shot, and still came out on top, something she really had to respect him for. Already she had a reward lined up for when they got home.
"Lair?"
Stopped by the call of the Lairon again, the steel type noticed one of the other paths blocked out by a tonne of rubble. They'd passed places like this before, and Yumi always made sure to mark them, but something about the way Max was acting told Yumi this path was something different. Already he trudged over and was nudging some of the smaller parts of the rubble away, making Yumi hop off to her feet to ensure she didn't end up falling off. "Hey what's up bud, you smell some iron in there or-" Then there it was, the faint cry of a pokemon caught Yumi's ear. She put her head a little closer to the collection of earth, realizing it didn't really show the same signs of age as other parts of the ruins, suggesting the collapse of this path was fairly recent. Not only that, but the pokemon cry she could hear was definately not from the other side of this pile. A pokemon was definately trapped in here. The lairon and it's trainer exchanged only the briefest of glances.
"Thinking what I'm thinking?"
The steel type gave a quick nod, heaving up a generous amount of the rubble atop his head and tossing it back, careful not to aim in Yumi direction before going back in for another load. Already the cry of the pokemon seemed just a little louder, even more hopeful as it likely heard what was going on around it. Rolling up her sleeves, Yumi dug in with her own hands, tossing the smaller parts of the rubble away and trying to dig as deep as she could as fast as she could. Just as she made a move to pull out what was a crucial part of the pile however, Max was quick to nudge her to the side, his steel body taking the brunt of the force from the sudden fall of earth that came from tampering with the integral piece. "Close one...thans bud..." Max only gave a smile before working on the last few bits of rubble, nuzzling at a small gap he'd made to widen it just enough for a small pokemon to get through, the cries for help far more clear.
"Here goes nuttin..." With Max supporting some of the rubble with his head, Yumi slipped her hand in, reaching for the pokemon within, feeling a bit of insecty hair and fluff, trying her best to show the pokemon she meant no harm and simply offering her hand out, feeling it climb aboard, and with a slow careful withdrawel, brought out the little pokemon, petting to calm it down as Max let the rubble all fall back into a new resting place, perking his head up at the insect they'd found.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Still whimpering from being stuck in that pile of earth, the scatterbug squirmed in Yumi's arms, the red head carefully shifting it in her hands to make sure it was okay. "Seems a little scuffed up..." falling to sit on her crossed legs, Max crawling up besid her, he was quick to nibble the pack on her back, tugging it away from her as Yumi let it slip off her shouldrs. "Know what you're looking for?" Max only gave a quick nod, tugging the small pack from within Yumi's backpack that she kept her first aid kit in, tugging the zip with his teeth, and offering Yumi her potion spray.
"Thanks bud." The scatterbug whined , still feeling weak from when it was trapped. Yumi gave a quiet shushing sound as Max came in from the front, nuzzling the cheek of the scatterbug carefully. "Shh. You're fine now." The scatter bug seemed to quieten down a bit. It still seemed weak, and it had a few nicks and scrapes. "Now...this is gonna hurt a little..." Taking the potion in her hand, she sprayed the healing liquid over one of the scatterbug's injuries, the bug type whining a little louder as it stung his skin for just a moment, squirming in Yumi's grasp. "Don't worry, worst part's over."
Holding out her hand, Yumi had it filled with a small cardboard box that contained a good number of bandaids. Taking just a few out and carefully removing them from the plastic strips they were stick to, placing them over the potioned up nicks lying on the scatterbug's cheek. He seemed better the moment they were applied, the potion sinking in and filling him with energy. He was covered in a few plasters, but he was soon sitting Up in Yumi's hands, looking over himself and all the little plasters stuck to his body, shaking his much more limber lower half and finally giving Yumi a full, single spikey toothed smile. The red head couldn't help but giggle and hold the little bug type up in her hands. "All better yeah?" "Scat scat!~" "Lair!" Yumi only chuckled as Max joined in, running a hand over his metal head and making sure he didn't feel left out. "How's about you join us scatter bug? You can ride on Max here, I'm sure he's a little tired of carrying my weight anyway.~"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With the scatterbug climbing aboard her shoulder, Yumi herself road up on Alphonse once more, whistling a light tune as her Lairon moved through the tunnels of the ruin. By now Yumi had completely given up on a drawing her map, partly because she lost her point when she had been busy saving the little bug pokemon. For now the scrap of paper was folded into her pocket and tucked away for some other trip.
"You doing okay there Alphonse? Not tuckered out I hope." The Lairon gave only one of his happy little cries as he continued trudging towards the light at the end of the tunnel, both trainer and pokemon curious as to what was causing the sudden flood of bright light in a set of tunnels typically only lit by torches. What met their eyes was honestly quite a surprise! Light flooded in from a non-existant ceiling of the ruins, down upon a large grassy area that even had a few trees growing. A barren ruin had somehow given bearth to a large open, walled off, pseudo forest, that was teaming with pokemon peeking their heads from tbetween the twigs of the trees.
"Woah...Never expected to find this here."
Hopping off of alphonse, the pokemon moved off on it's own as Yumi found her own way of exploring the small forest in the ruins, both of them trying to find an exit quickly before they ended up taking to long to explore this small expanse of nature. On his little journey he spotted a few pokemon glaring at him from up in the trees with sharp red eyes, one of them taunting him by hanging from the branch he was on and shaking back and forth in alphonse's face. Now while Alphonse was typically a friendly pokemon, he did not like it when someone picked on him for no reason, and thus, with a simple pushed off his hindlegs, his body swayed into the trunk of the tree the Pineco was hanging from, forcing it to shake and lose it's grip, ultimately falling down infront of the Lairon, leaving both pokemon agitated by the other and glaring at eachother, clearly ready for battle.
Never the type to move first, Alphonse stood strong as the Pineco spun towards him with it's rapid spin, grinding it's edges against the steel body of the Lairon. A huge advantage of facing wild pokemon was that they typically didn't handle typing too well. Pushing off his front legs, the Lairon rotated his whole body, whipping the Pineco back with a mighty iron tail, skidding back to a halt and facing the tumbling pinecone, rushing after it on all fours with his head ready to slam down. The Pineco, quick to get back on it's feet, was not about to go down so easily, spinning rapidly once more to dodge the rampaging pseudo rhino, striking back into his side. Alphonse would just wonder when this Pineco would learn that didn't quite work.He was about to turn and face the Pineco again, ready to rush it with a successful iron head this time, but instead, a surprising force impacted his side after the rapid spin, a double edge that put the Pineco in an even worse state, but allowed him to put at least some hurt on Alphonse himself. Growling jst a little, Alphonse was ready to show this Pineco what for, charging towards the weakened pinecone.
With little health left already, and realizing even the double edge had hardly done anything to his foe, the Pinecone took the preverbial cyanaide capsule of life. As Max charged, a white light enveloped the Pineco, a shine the Lairon mistook for evolution. All Yumi heard off in the distance was a large explosion and the scattering of many small pokemon, her boot covered legs quick to rush through the green growths towards the source, not even needing comformation that it was something she should be worried about. By the time she got to the scene, she could already see max, his face covered in a fine black layer of smoke and sut the explosion had thrown out, couging but hardly even damaged it seemed, he just greeted Yumi with that same, bright smile as Yumi couldn;t help but chuckle falling to her knees beside him and petting the point of his helmet like forehead. "You're a tough little bugger huh?"
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found Relic Band! Welp, someone dropped a bracelet... again. ( Post a Mod Summons to exchange this for •25 )

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Okay, be more careful next time you get into a scuff, we clear?" The Lairon gave a gentle nod before trudging along to his next little search for the exit to this oddly foresteland within the ruins, his pudgy limps carrying him along at a gentle pace as his eyes kept lookout for the next passage or door to catch his attention.
In the meantime, another dweller of the trees had it's attention caught by the Lairon. The slight scent of another scatterbug coming off the steel type allerted the one in the trees that the rival he had tried to rid himself of was still alive. Enraged that the smaller insect he'd tried to remove from his territory permanently was still in existance, he decided to take it out on the steel type that had supposedly saved him. Without warning, his sticky web of a string shot shot down from the safety of the trees, wrapping around the unsuspecting Lairon and sticking him in place. Max, shocked by the sudden attack from nowhere, immediately began to struggle, his beefy body beneath his armor plating making short work of the webing, slowly tearing himself away from it and staggering as he tried to find the source of the string shots, but what with not being alert at the time, it was hard for him to properly figure it out.
"Lair?"
The moment he thought he'd chosen the right tree to target, another string shot stuck down one of his hind legs, and he was forced to struggle once more, falling onto his chin from the innitial shock but soon tearing himself free, just fast enough to spot the orange fog that was descending on him and soon recognizing it as the infamous stun spore, quick to charge in any random direction just so that he could get out of the way of the paralyzing attack, panting a little as he made it to safety, still confused and struggling to get his barings on whatever was attacking him, let alone where it was. It was only when another string shot sprayed out that he finally spotted the scatterbug in the trees, hopping back to ensure his eyes weren't glued shut for once.
With the location of his foe in the trees finally found, his first thought was to taunt it out, growling and roaring directly at it, only to have another string shot thrown his way that he had to avoid with another hop. Clearly this scatterbug wasn't about to come down of it's own acord. Not that Max minded too much, he had another plan. With the scatterbug so precariously perched on it's branch, Max rushed towards the trunk of it's tree, charging fast so that the scatterbug's attempts to stick him down shot into the ground where he used to be rather than where he currently was. Soon enough his hard head met the tree, shaking it roughly and forcing the insect out of the tree, the pokemon giving off a soft squeep as it hit the ground. Still, he'd caused Max hella enough trouble, so the tough steel type wasn't about to go easy. Wandering over as the scatterbug struggled to get back to it's feat, he turned around, and simply sat on it. Not it's head of course, he wasn't that crule, just it's lower body so it squirmed for a sec, the two exchanging poke-words until the Scatterbug agreed to leave him alone, at which point his rear rose back up and he wandered away.
