I KNOW I AM BLIND AND THAT YOU'RE ALL I SEE AND YEAH I KNOW IT'S NOT CLEVER BUT I JUST WANT YOU WITH ME
i'm only half of something else
Her head tilted back as she began to stare up at the stars. Her hands cupped the sides of her denim overalls that was tossed over a light green colored shirt and brown boots as she exhaled slowly. A small trail of silence was released as she continued into the darkest depths of the streets. Normally the world wasn't safe for a girl like her, dark and cold, the perfect recipe for the devil's hunting grounds. The only lights that shined were the dimly lit lampposts that plagued the sidewalks, some giving off an occasional flicker. There lights would be going out soon. The small little Cleffa known as Solstice was sitting patiently and silently on her shoulders, the straps of her backpack acting as grapple in the case the little star-shaped Pokemon found herself about to fall. Chilling giggles and laughter of Human and Pokemon alike echoed through the streets, striking the air with malicious intent. She knew what was happening. She was getting closer to a Pokemon.
Her eyes darted, slowly tracing every corner as she watched and waited for something to make an appearance. Her hand slowly reaching for a Poke Ball in the case that Solstice was too afraid to battle. In that very instant the sound of a light bulb busting sliced through the air. It was loud. Terrifying. And she felt the goosebumps crawl along her backside.
"What in the hell was that..."
Digitless hands clutched her neck as she turned to face the cackling demon that was now standing behind her. Guess it was time for a battle.

I KNOW I AM BLIND AND THAT YOU'RE ALL I SEE AND YEAH I KNOW IT'S NOT CLEVER BUT I JUST WANT YOU WITH ME
i'm only half of something else
Eyes closed, she drew in a quick breath as she caught wind of the ball Pokemon that rolled from the inner sanctum of the darkest street corners. She could feel the Pokemon's eyes burning straight through her, and her only response was a shaky smile followed by tapping the star-shaped Pokemon on her shoulder. The ball Pokemon had stumbled upon potential prey, but the beast that was Voltorb he had stumbled upon something far worse than himself. A proverbial beast that, now that it had seen its attacker, was more than ready to strike back. The small Solstice leaped from its confines and moved in front of her partner. It must have noticed that they were prepared now as it began releasing small sparks of electricity as an act of intimidation. It reminded her of something that talked a big game but wouldn't be able to back it up, much like an infant.
"Okay, Solstice let's end this quick! Use Return!"
"Fa Fa!"
Rushing ahead the ground was but a victim to the brute force that the small Pokemon released as she charged towards the Voltorb, forcing the ball Pokemon to make an attempt at rolling to the side. Solstice would notice this, and her trajectory would change to better track her target before crashing into it. The strike had connected and the Voltorb simply tumbled back into play, it's eyes now in a glare as it used Eerie Impulse, the sparks of harmless electricity shooting forth and surrounding Solstice before sinking into her fur.
"Clef? Fa?"
Turning back to look at her trainer, the confused Pokemon released a shrill cry of confusion. Summer had heard of this move all but one time and the details were sketchy. She couldn't recall what the move did, nor did she waste too much time thinking about it. Taking a deep breath she smiled,
"Don't worry Solstice we got this! Use sing followed by return!"
Closing her eyes, the little Cleffa began to sing her trainer watching in amazement as the multicolored notes freed themselves from her mouth before moving in to hit the vicious electric Pokemon. They moved slow and matched the lullaby the small fairy Pokemon began to sing before crashing head on to the Voltorb. Its eyes glazed over and its body now rolled on its side, Solstice would stop instantly before rushing in with a return. It's small frame crashing into the Voltorb as its eyes continued to remain close even after impact.
"Okay use Pound then return! We gotta keep this up, until it wakes up!"
Call it a cheap shot if you will, the small Cleffa acted as her partner commanded and continued crashing into the Voltorb. Her digitless hands glowing white before releasing a crescent shaped blade of energy at the Voltorb then going back to using return. She continued this combination for all but three times before the Voltorb's woke up only to be met with a final return sending it flying into the distance. Her lips curled into a grin as Solstice ran towards her and umped into her arms.
"You did it! You really did it!"
The moment of happiness was short-lived as the pair turned back and continued their stroll looking for another Pokemon in this urban jungle.

I KNOW I AM BLIND AND THAT YOU'RE ALL I SEE AND YEAH I KNOW IT'S NOT CLEVER BUT I JUST WANT YOU WITH ME

All she could hear was the sound of a pigeon's cry.
Summer watched the bird with peaked curiosity as it flew towards her. The flapping of its wings, every gesture, facial expression, eye movement. Even the bird's distinct cry didn't escape the trainer's watchful eye as she analyzed the bird intently. An awkward little thing, the bird moved in a zig-zag motion until it finally landed in front of her, its wings still flapping. Wings outstretched, the little bird let out a loud call before hopping towards her. Summer sighed. Her hand moved towards one of the Poke Balls clipped on the strip of her backpack, she didn't want to fight the little thing but it seemed like there was no way out of it. From a red stream of light the little Igglybuff known as Orion came tumbling out, his red eyes looking back at Summer then at the Pidove. She had only come across Pidove every now and again back at her ranch and she thought the little buggers to be pests. This is going to be fun, she mused as she popped her knuckles.
"Orion use Sweet Kiss, followed by echoed voice!"
Placing his hands on his lips, the little balloon Pokemon released a stream of hearts that crashed into the Pidove his body seemingly growing limp shortly after. Those golden eyes didn't even have time to process any information before it was struck with confusion and then the sound of Orion's loud scream that appeared in the form of light pink vibrations. The vibrations crashed into the bird Pokemon sending it flying back. Wide eyed and angered, the little pigeon shook its head and ruffled its feathers before flying back towards the duo, its small wings flapping and thereafter creating a thick wind that sent Orion back a bit. Gust. The little pink ball bounced back, his eyes now a glare and his small hands balled into a fist. I can't waste my time or energy of this, she mused. I came here looking for ghost Pokemon not this little Pigeon! She hadn't come across the adorable ghost Pokemon she had been searching for, but then again this was only her second encounter, but she was wasting time on this little thing.
"Okay Orion use Echoed Voice then Sing!"
Rushing ahead, Orion let out a loud scream once again. This time more powerful than before, that was the beauty of Echoed Voice it grew stronger with use. As the virbrations hit the Pidove, the balloon didn't even allow the bird time to recover before it began singing a little lullaby. The lovely lullaby didn't last long since, his vocal cords weren't as developed as his evolutionary stage, but it was enough to put the bird Pokemon to sleep. Its body collapsing against the cold hard ground the instant the tune entered his ears.
"Okay Orion, time for a good rest!"
She smiled as the Pokemon happily returned back into his Poke Ball, while she crept past the sleeping bird. It was on to the next one.

Now that's what I'm talking about, she mused before clicking the small white button on her Poke Ball releasing the small Eevee known as Atlas. Her eyes moving back to face her trainer with peaked interest, then turning back to face the small puffball that she was faced with. The small cotton candy Pokemon had made an appearance all but a few moments ago, having crashed into Summer and Solstice with the intention of going home. She assumed that the little brute had blamed her for the crash since it initiated a battle only seconds after. But no matter, had come well prepared to duel and to make this little sticky ball of fluff a member of her little family.
"Atlas, use swift!"
There was no hesitation in her words, not a single ounce of malicious intent and yet there was something about that had obviously scared Swirlix as its eyes grew wide in response, signifying the fear in its soul. With a loud yawn, the lazy fox released a stream of golden stars towards her target, each one moving in unison with the one before it. However, even with impending accuracy nothing prepared them for the swift dodge that was to come from the Swirlix. It's small frame near tumbling to the side as it rolled in a makeshift ball made of its sticky threads.
The swift dodge was followed by the Swirlix inching closer and placing its lips upon Atlas' brow, a small orb appearing shortly after and plunging into its body. Draining Kiss, it was an impressive move and mentally she couldn't help but to applaud the little thing. Atlas' cries pierced the area for a but a moment before the little creature gained its composure and stood back ready to fight.
"Okay, let's try hitting em with bite!"
Rushing ahead the small beast pounced on the Swirlix before sending them both tumbling to the ground, its small jaws clamped onto the beast. A loud screech came from Swirlix followed by its struggle to escape Atlas' grasp. Unfortunately for it, Atlas wasn't letting up. Her teeth only served to dig deeper the more it struggled up until it slowly tumbled off the Swirlix with a smile of content stricken across her face. Suddenly, the small Swirlix began to cry. It was using the move Fake Tears, and though she knew it was a bullshit move, she couldn't help but to feel sorry for the little thing.
"Ahhhhh!!! IT'S SO CUTE!!!!!!!"
A low growl escaped Atlas' lips as it began to turn back to her trainer. The poor thing was more than jealous of what was going down, but that jealously only turned into a bitter anger that made the beast rush forward, head first, into the Swirlix. Her fangs bared and now tackling on top of the Swirlix and then clamping down onto its body. The small creature squealed in response, its body slowly growing limp and fading into a faint before Atlas climbed off. Summer couldn't help but to sigh, yet feel a bit of disappointment that the Eevee didn't even wait for her to suggest a routine, but she was happy at the initiative of rushing in.
Smiling, she threw the Poke Ball onto the Swirlix and watched as it was absorbed in a flash of red light.

I KNOW I AM BLIND AND THAT YOU'RE ALL I SEE AND YEAH I KNOW IT'S NOT CLEVER BUT I JUST WANT YOU WITH ME
i'm only half of something else
Could this really be happening? Her eyes grew wide as she watched the group of fighting Pokemon appear from behind the shadow's blanket that obscured them from view. Two powerful Tyrogue and two Hitmontop that acted as the gang's leader. Mentally she pondered whether or not she could actually put any of her Pokemon to the test of being brutally beaten like the powder puffs that they were. For years she knew a time like this would come, as it did with all trainers, but only recent had she begun to accept the reality that her Pokemon were not yet ready for a large horde. Nor would they be until post evolution; her Pokemon were mere babies in comparison to the fighting types, and though Tyrogue stood as the baby of all fighting Pokemon it was still strong enough to knock her Pokemon out in a single punch. Her Pokemon wouldn't like this, and frankly they might find anger in her allowing them to be beaten ruthlessly, Solstice took note of this as the little Pokemon quickly hid beneath her partner's locks to keep from being seen as potential prey. It was in that moment, that she slowly and silently stepped away before running to the fence behind her and quickly climbing it leaving the gang behind her. Maybe some other time, she mused. Maybe some other time.
Some other time had obviously come now. As she leaped over the fence, she caught wind of a something following her. From behind the fence posts, there stood two Tyrogue followed by the two Hitmontop that casually trailed behind them. A brow raised in confusion. "Are these little things challenging me?" She mused before she thought of what to do. She could continue running in hope that one would eventually back down and the other would follow behind, or she could simply take on the two Pokemon and force her little babies to work in unison; a skill that she would need later on down the line during Gym Battles and maybe even the contests that she had heard so much about. Knuckles popping she grabbed hold of the Poke Ball from her backpack and threw it out, in a flash Igglybuff appeared before her. The small balloon Pokemon barely even seemed phased by the two fighting Pokemon, and by his side was Solstice whom hopped from her trainer's shoulder the first chance she got.
A nervous chuckle left her lips as the two Pokemon awaited their commands for battle.
"OKAY TYROGUE WE ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE! LET'S HIT HIM AND HIT EM LOW GUYS!"
Knuckles popped, she pointed towards the two Tyrogue. Two screams of determination swept from the baby Pokemon, the two Tyrogue grinned as they rushed forward with an impressive tackle.
"Okay Solstice let's get this rolling with Return! And Orion follow up with Echoed Voice!"
Rushing ahead, Solstice dove head first into the Tyrgoue closest to her, with Orion right behind her. Her body hit the first Tyrogue their opposing attacks colliding sending the Tyrogue in question tumbling back a bit. Quickly moving out the way, while the other was still charging at her, Orion used Echoed Voice; the strong vibrations pulsating at both Tyrogue and sending both flying back. She couldn't help but to smile at this. She had damaged both of them rather easily, and now it was time for her to continue throwing the punches.
"Okay Solstice use Pound and Orion, Echoed Voice again!"
Smiling the Cleffa ran towards the closest Tyrogue her arms growing in a pure white before she released it in a wave in the shape of a small crescent move. The Tyrogue noticed this, and both jumped out of the way one now rushing towards Solstice with tackle. Orion, saw this and prepared Echoed Voice only for the other Tyrogue to appear right in front of him his hands clapping together causing a small shockwave to appear and slam into the Igglybuff. Fake Out. She knew the move and she hated it now more than ever.
Her eyes watched in horror as the Tyrogue came back for more, their bodies moving in unison now. They were coming in for tackle, and she had something waiting for them.
"Orion get in front of Solstice and use Copycat! Solstice follow up with sing!"
Cherry blossom eyes watched as her plan came into play. The two Pokemon listened, and smiled as Orion moved in front of his partner, waiting patiently as his body began to glow a bright white mentally recalling the move, Fake Out, his hands stretched out and clapped together causing both the Pokemon to flinch and fall back. Solstice wasn't too far behind, her small form jumping in front of Orion then proceeding to hum a lovely tune that release multi-colored musical notes from her mouth. The notes moving at a surprising speed and crashing into Tyrogue before the Pokemon even had time to react. Watching the two Pokemon lull to sleep, she smiled as she commanded one final move for the Pokemon.
"OKAY GUYS LET'S FINISH THIS! SOLSTICE, ORION, USE POUND!"
The sounds of Orion and Solstice working in unison was music to her ears. The two Pokemon running, side by side before leaping into the air and finishing with an impressive wave of white light that was pound, The lights crashing into the Tyrogue creating, what could only be a direct-hit, as the two Pokemon had now shown signs of fainting. Their bodies went limp and Summer couldn't help but to grin as she tossed a ball at one of the Tyrogue, as the wave of red light engulfed his friend, the other Tyrogue stood and nodded before struggling to move towards his opponents, shaking their hands kindly then moving to shake the hand of Summer. She smiled, patting the little creature on the head and shaking its hand before it gave one last cheeky grin and fled back in the direction of his fellow gang members. And Summer smiled as the Ultra Ball seemingly stopped moving. She must have disturbed the nest. Only moments after she scooped up the Poke Ball containing the Tyrogue, did its fraternal figures make an appearance. The two Hitmontops from earlier, followed by the the Tyrogue from earlier and a Hitmonlee that stood close by. She assumed it to be a nest of fighting Pokemon somewhere nearby and she couldn't help but feel slightly terrified. Though, oddly she wasn't as scared as what she should have been. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she stared the two Pokemon in the face.
"I'm assuming you're hear to battle as well, huh?"
The two Hitmontop looked at one another then back at Summer, nodding in unison.
"I figured! Well gimmie a sec okay guys! Just gotta do some prepping!"
Grabbing hold of the two Poke Balls, she mentally pondered on whether Swirlix, or Miel and Atlas were a good choice to use. The Pokemon had only just recently been in an all out brawl with each other and she was the strong assumption that the Swirlix wouldn't be down for listening to her. "Gotta take chances I suppose," she mused as she threw the two Poke Balls onto the battlefield releasing the enemies now made allies. The two Pokemon stared at one another, before each releasing a growl that soon turned into a small scuffle between the two.
"Hey, hey, hey you two settle down! We have a battle to do, take your anger out on these two!"
Pointing at the two Hitmontop, the two Pokemon growled to themselves before turning to the Hitmontop. Both moved in with Triple Kick, their bodies moving expertly as they glided effortlessly across the pavement.
"Atlas, Miel dodge it! Atlas follow up with Swift and Miel use Fake Tears!"
Parting in two separate directions, Atlas released a stream of stars from her person with Miel released a stream of tears. The tears made both Hitmontop stop in their tracks, staring confused at the little cotton candy ball. Distracted and confused the stars crashed into them, knocking them backwards. Now the problem with fighting Pokemon, in their evolved state, is their reflexes. Almost instantly did the two get back up charge towards the two Pokemon, both using Rolling Kick. Lashing their legs out, the two Pokemon smiled as they went landing face first into the Eevee and the Swirlix, following up with another Rolling Kick, toppling the two Pokemon.
"ATLAS! MIEL! ARE YOU GUYS OKAY?!"
In horror she watched as the two Hitmontop came in for another Triple Kick, knocking the Pokemon to their knees. Their bodies covered in injuries from the brutal beating that had just occurred. Blinking, the two Pokemon slowly stood and inched towards each other, standing side by side. She knew in a matter of time, they would both be down for the count, less they find a way around this. She needed to find a way for them to heal but at the same time, also block any incoming attacks. It was in that moment, she had an idea. It was a long shot but it was still going to work.
"MIEL JUMP ONTO ATLAS' BACK, AND USE WISH! AND ATLAS USE DETECT AT ANY INCOMING ATTACKS!"
Confused but willing, the small Swirlix hopped onto his partner's back and latched on, a glowing aura being released from its body as his health, along with his partner's was slowly healed. The Hitmontop moved in for a Close Combat, and Summer smiled as Atlas used detect. Easily ducking and diving past the move, while at the same time finding its health slowly recovering. This continued for but a moment before Summer initiated another attack.
"Miel use Draining Kiss, Atlas follow up with Swift!"
Moving in at full speed, the small Swirlix took its place in front of the closest Hitmontop, landing a devastating kiss on its cheek allowing the green orb to plunge into its body, healing him, before moving out of the way as Atlas followed up with Swift. The stars completely catching both Hitmontop off guard, landing a direct hit. Smiling, she wasn't going to stop there!
"Miel use Fake Tears! And Atlas, pin em down with Bite!"
You would think that the stream of blue that fell from the cotton candy Pokemon's mouth, wouldn't have been enough to fool the fighting spinning tops a second time, unfortunately that wasn't the case. Rushing ahead, the fox kit pounced onto the nearest Hitmontop and pinned it to the ground. Her small teeth digging into the little brute's skin causing it to let out a loud scream in pain. The other Hitmontop growled and moved towards its screaming partner, coming in with another Rolling Kick to knock the Eevee off its partner. At the very last second, Summer grinned.
"Atlas! Let go of Hitmontop and dodge it! Follow up with Swift! And Miel use Draining Kiss!"
She smiled as her plan was executed perfectly. The strike didn't connect with Atlas, her form gracefully prancing off the opposing Hitmontop before she released a Swift that knocked both the Pokemon to their knees. What followed Miel moving to use Draining Kiss on both Pokemon, executing his moves swiftly and silently. And the swift silence had obviously been enough to take down the two Pokemon as they were then left speechless and without energy. Tossing the two Ultra Balls, she smiled as they were sucked away into a red light. Her two enemies bowing to one another before coming in for an awkward hug.
