"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With some evidence that the ruins she'd found had mega stones in them, Yumi made a plan to visit them again. Sure they weren't as close to hand as the badlands, but they were certainly somewhere Yumi could reach now that she had the location in her head. It was a short flight from flash city, and it took a bit of searching to get the location dead set in her head, but the moment she found it, she knew it would be much easier to find it on the following trips...she just hoped she'd never run into another group of solrock...the horror.
Slipping inside the ruins with her Gurdurr Roshi by her side, Yumi know she'd be safe whatever they ran into. A part of her wondered what they may run into this time, but she knew if she just kept looking, she'd definately be able to find another mega stone.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Back in the main hall of the ruins Yumi felt a little bit more at ease simply due to the fact she wasn't greeted by that group of Solrock again, those things always did give her the creeps, they were like, the one pokemon she could think of that seemed unable to move anything but it's EYES. It was downright messed up!
"Let's get moving before they sense us or something..."
Not really sure why Yumi was so freaked out, but also not wanting to stick around for the return of psychic types, Roshi was sure to get moving into one of the nearby halls, scouting a little ahead as Yumi requested, and perhaps even a little further than he was supposeto, simply due to his cocky nature, turning a corner out of Yumi's sight and spotting a slakoth hanging from a vine accross the ceiling, the lazy looking pokemon giving an elongated yawn as it stared down at the fighting type passing undrneath. Seeing no reason not to have a little fun while he was down here, Roshi swung the iron bar he held over his shoulder to his side, slamming down the base and shaking the ruins around him slightly, the slakoth forced to release it's vine and tumble to the ground, seemingly unphased as it's sleepey face remained the same as always. Feeling the shaking even further down the hall, Yumi did not exactly feel reassureby the sudden tremor, dashing ahead to catch up with Roshi, only to rest her hands on her knees and give out a soft sigh as she saw the situation at hand.
"Seriously? Picking on a slakoth now?"
Roshi rolled his eyes and stared at the red head over his shoulder, if he wanted to get on the level of Ko-ken and Tequill he needed to take on any foes he could. With no sense of mercy, he charged forward, rearing the metal pole over his shouldr and slamming it down hard on the slakoth as it yawned, the normal type raising an arm to defend itself, and all the force that Roshi had put into that simple attack was sent right back into the cheek of the fighter thanks to a counter attack, forcing the fighter to stagger back with an angry, annoyed growl. Yumi had seen Slakoth enough times to know that NOW would be the time to strike, there was always an odd delay between each of it's actions, but instead, Roshi decided that it would be best to bulk up before another strike, bringing a facepalm from the red headtrainer before watching her fighter again. Roshi charged forward once more, stopping with a few feet between him and the normal type before shooting out a first, the air around it taking the form of his punch as he unleashed his mach punch. The air fist hit the slakoth hard, clearly, as this time the slakoth was at least knocked back, but rather than be out cold from that alone, the slakoth seemed to just continually tumble backward till he was on his feet again, and reciprocated the attack with a countering mach punch of his own, an attack that force Roshi to defend himself with his iron bar, even leaving a dent in the weapon that Roshi needed to quickly strike out lest his weapon be permanently out of shape. Angered by the counter, he was about ready to bulk up before a quick clearing of Yumi's throat told him the red head may have had a better plan.
"You may wanna just strike now. Slakoth always fall asleep for a second after an attack."
For a moment Roshi was just more confused, as if that would ever be a thing, but a quick glance to the slakoth and it's now sleeping face told him that it was sadly true. Still, it was an opportunity, and he took it, shooting out his punch again with the speed of a bullet and the air acting as his punch, striking the sleeping Slakoth and sending it hurtling down the hall with no sense of a counter this time, his body impacting against the ruin wall and taking the brute of the attack himself, leaving a pretty confident of her work Yumi and Roshi.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Soon after the crushing of the Slakoth, Yumi and her faithful Gurrdurr continued their journey into the caves, Yumi giving tired little yawns as she just kept walking with no real aim or purpose. The trips to the badlands were always equally as tiring, but at least the ruins tended to give her a cool little mural or etching on the wall every couple of minutes to keep her interest. Roshi of course was still barrelling ahead, with no real reason to slow down, and seeing this as just another trip into the wilds were he could train and grow.
With Yumi seeming to do okay looking after herself, Roshi was always a few steps ahead ready to take on any wild pokemon he saw. Unluckily for him, he would not see the latest one until it was too late.
"Hey Roshi! ya got a visitor!"
Turning quickly, Roshi spotted the aipom that had rushed past the legs of his trainer, and rose up his iron bar in defense incase it decided to rush him rather than just pass by. The Aipom leaped over the fighting type, and he was ready to retaliate to a back attack, only to feel his muscles feel light and cold, his diaphragm tighten, and ultimately, laughs flowed from him as he fell forward, gripping his sides as the tail of the aipom was tickling his spine. Yumi couldn't help but cover her own mouth as light little snickers poured forth. "Wow, the great and mighty Roshi out done by a light little tickle huh?"
Not about to let such an insult go unchecked, Roshi pulled all his strength together, picked up his iron bar, and swung it hard around him, the weapon impacting the face of the aipom with his superpower strike, sending it flying and giving Roshi some room to bulk up and recover his lost strength. Suddenly furious that his attempt to find a playmate had turned into a battle, the aipom rushed forward himself, attempting to charge the Gurrdurr with the only true attack he knew, scratch. Sadly for him, Roshi was prepared this time, his iron bar hung over his shoulder, and in one fell swoop, struck hard across the head of the aipom, sending it into the wall beside him this time, and easily KOing it. The Gurrdurr turned with a cocky smile, only to get a bit of a shock when Yumi was glaring down at him.
"Gurr?"
"Next time someone wants to play with you it's a bit impolite to knock their lights out."

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Wondering through the caves once more, Yumi was slightly dissapointed they had yet to find any sort of gem. It was always a bummer when those little stones didn't show themselves. Gurrdurr seemed to be getting some good training in, but even the fighting type felt like he hadn't been properly challenged yet. Just some annoying normal types and little else. Sure the slakoth put up a bit of a fight with his counter tactic but Roshi believed he could broke through that eventually even without the advantage of the slakoth's own ability in his hands. He needed something that would challenge him. A flying type, a psychic type...
Or both!
Down accross the hall after rounding the latest corner, the fighting type let out an odd noise of joy as he spotted a natu! A combination of his two most important weaknesses. The natu would always be doing double damage if it was smart and all of his own main attacks would be rediced to a quarter. Yumi could see the small look of excitement slowly forming on his face, and was quick to shake her own head. "Ooooh no. not a chance." the fighter was quick to glare back at her, narrowing his eyes at his own trainer only to recieve an inimpressed look in return. "Fine. But you're gonna use that new move we've been working on." With no reason to argue, the fighter gave a nod, pounding his fist into his palm before hoisting his iron bar back over his shoulder, staring down the Natu as he pounded his own chest, giving out a battle cry to catch the brainy bird's attention. The natu was quick to turn, and then it was on.
Charging forward, his iron bar slung over his shoulder, trying to take it off of his weight as much as he could, the fighting type needed to get up close and personal to make his attack count. Yumi watched, curious how her little fighter could close the distance. Not wanting the fighter to even get close, the bird unleashed an ominous wind, a gale blowing through the ruined halls with ghostly energy coursing through it. Faced with both the wind slowing him down and the ecto energy behind it, Roshi was forced to slow down, slamming his iron bar into the ground as he eventually came to a halt, using his super power to impound it just enough so it didn't slip out the ground with the wind itself. With no reason to stop, the natu just kept flapping his wings, using his small amounts of power to continue the ominous winds. Yumi, only feeling a small gust from her distance, wondered how the fighter would handle this through to the end. Roshi admittadly had very little in terms of ideas right now. If he had a second iron bar he may be able to make progress but...
It was then a small idea came to him. It would be slow, but it would work. Raising up the iron bar, he could already feel the winds ready to push him back. He slammed down quick again, slowly tugging himself forward, up and down with the iron bar, slowly coming closer and closer to the natu who was now frantically flapping his wings, but sadly forgetting to run away. Roshi was soon close enough for his attack, using one last bout of superpower before all of his strength dissapeared to slam his own feat into the earth, the jagged stone around them cutting in a little, but it was worth it. With the ominous winds still pounding against his chest, he let his iron bar go, the weight thankfully stopping it from flying all the way into Yumi's face. Roshi's hands turned to channelling his new move. The earth around him shifted up, small, tiny dagger like pebbles spiralling around him, before firing towards the Natu, cutting and chipping away at the little pokemon, ultimately Koing it through the winds. Roshi was left with an unconcious bird, his feet, stuck in the ground, and one HELL of a stinging sensation in his chest...all he knew is that he was about to turn to Yumi and give her one of his cocky smiles...
