"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Wizen city was not a place in Nue Yumi tended to frequent. Iceburgh, Flash, even bayonde, all nice places to visit, but Wizen tended to rub her the wrong way. It was something she could never quite put her finger on. She never thought the place was dangerous or anything, heck she didn't even think it was as bad as some of the rumors she'd heard about it. Perhaps she just wasn't used to the sorta tightly packed feel the slums had going on...whatever the case, she had a reason to be here today, so no silly little "off feeling" was gonna scare her away this time.
"Ya know as impressive as that is, I'm pretty sure straining your muscles with it isn't gonna help you take anything on." The red head was of course referring to the walking on his hands that her Sawk was doing. A week ago, Yumi had sent notice of an official challenge to Ferris, the old Steel gym leader of Orre had moved over here, and still had a lasting impression on Yumi and ko-ken. Despite their win last time in the pokemon League, Yumi was not liking her odds this time around. Ferris was always one of the toughest challenges Yumi had ever faced, and along with Elinda, the two trainers had given Yumi both a deep respect, and fear of steel type battlers. Ko-ken had been training for the entire week they'd had to wait to get this appointment, and even now, he was walking on his hands all the way from the train station, like he was trying to train every muscle he had till the last second. It was only on Yumi pointing it out that he kicked his legs round through his arms and landed on his feet, following her somewhat normally.
"I know your as worried as I am but-" Yumi quickly noticed the harsh glare Ko-ken gave her. As much as he loved Yumi he did not like feeling weak. "Okay, not woried..anxious?" She smiled as that seemed a bit more pleasing to her Sawk. "But ya gotta take it easy. You keep stressing your muscles over this and you'll be down and out before you even get to smack that skarmory over the head." The Sawk rolled his eyes a little at the mention of the skarmory that he had to tie with the last time. "Come on, we're here now anyway, so no more hand stands ya got it?"
Having followed some directions off strangers she'd prodded for info on the street and several signs in the more slummy sections of the city, Yumi pushed through the double doors of what she assumed was the clearwater gym. Though the site that met her eyes wasn't too reassuring in her assumption. Small groups of people huddled in the room, some looking to her as she came in. Typically girls with long, split hair, and men with unshaven faces and tattered old hoodies. It kinda reminded her of why Wizen made her feel uneasy...it was the only place in the pokemon world she could call "bad". She always felt like anyone could be a trainer, or anyone could do what they wanted. Wizen was proof that wasn't always true.
"'Scuse me, ma'am?" The red head turne to her side, a small kid had been sitting by the door, rising up as he noticed the red head and taking off his small cap to look up at her. "You here to see miss Ferris?" She gave only a quiet nod. "How did you-?" "The clean clothes and the pokeball belt were a dead giveaway ma'am." Yumi could only give a nervous chuckle. She didn't feel quite at home here...well of course she didn't, but she also had that unnerved feeling of being unsure what to say. Like how you felt you could never mention "walking" around a disabled person. Its not something you should think about, and because of that, its the only thing on your mind. "Er...yeah. Kinda obvious when you think about it..." "She be that way Ma'am. Just through dem next doors."
Yumi gave only another quiet nod, that slow sinking feeling intensifying with every step. A part of her felt like she shouldn't be here. She wasn't the kinda person who avoided helping those who needed it, but at the same time, she'd just waltzed into what was essentially a homeless shelter by the looks of it, took directions off a child, and was now leaving, no way to help them or anything...she'd probably come back here in a week with a tonne of food or something out of some unnescasary guilt. Stepping through the door of the next room, holding the door as she peaked her head around, she noticed the large arena, telling her she truly was in the right place, calling out for the gym leader. "Yo Ferris? You here?"
She was there, of course. She was waiting for her challenger to arrive. The benefits of having everything scheduled in advance - she could make all of the proper accommodations for her special guests. She would find the space to be grand, albeit empty in a way - it seemed like a giant room with a screen on each wall, after all, not a place of combat. A few people seemed to be milling about, in a way - technical staff, by and large, who were here to maintain all the vital equipment that would play a huge part in all the setups for the battles. Someone had to operate the arena's special treats and keep the scoreboard updated with vital statistics, after all.
But Yumi was looking for the person she would battle, not the valued technicians. From Yumi's left, Ferris stepped into view in her normal attire. "Welcome, Miss Tasukai. I hope you've come ready to start. The Pokemon I prepared to face you are excited." It was true - she had spent a good part of the week preparing for one of her strongest challengers, after all, and certainly the most dedicated. Ferris got a thrill with each time they met since Yumi only got stronger and stronger with each round. It forced Ferris to push herself, so that she could still give Yumi much to learn, even if it meant that Ferris herself would have to one day lose.
"Alright then, I'd like to not waste much time. We can chat afterwards. Now, do you mind if this match is filmed and broadcasted later, and do you need an in-depth explanation on my gym's rules?"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
The sight of Gwyneth brought different reactions from both trainer and pokemon. For yumi, there was a buzz of excitement. There were a few people that constantly posed her a challenge in this world, Zeon, Gwyneth, Elinda, and Brook. All she had clashed with on more than one occasion, and each left a different taste in her mouth. For Zeon, she would always get a tinge of frustration facing him, that sexist pig was always someone she just wanted to beat into the dirt. With Brook, it was a different kind of frustration...he was a challenge she had yet to conquer, and she always trained hard for the day she could overcome that challenge. But Elinda, and even more so, Ferris? Every muscle in the red head burned with a gentle fire, even now as she crosed her arms over her chest, she felt confident, not in her odds of winning persay, but more so in the odds of this being one hell of a battle!
Ko-ken? His muscles were tight, and his eyes narrowed, This time, he'd be sure to leave an impact on that steel type user.
"It's a pleasure to see you too Ferris. The new guys on my team have heard all about you from Ko-ken here, and they're itchin to give you a shot!"
Ko-ken was still on edge. He knew the plan, from Yumi's past encounters with Ferris they even had a good idea of what was likely to be sent out first, but whatever the case was to be, Yumi was sure she had a good chance this time. One hell of a chance even.
"Sorry to delay things, but you mind filling me in there?" resting her head to the side a little, Yumi was a tad surprised to hear there were rules this time round, par the usual rules of course, Gwyneth was one of the few people who seemed to never have a gimmick to her Gym, so this was sure to be interesting. "Not too clear on what rules you put in place."
Ferris took a moment to regard Ko-Ken, the Sawk. She could recall the very first time she fought this creature - the way it tried to shrug off a massive amount of poisons like it was a scratch and how it seemed to push itself to 100% no matter what was going on. It certainly knew how to use its own Bulk Up technique, and she wouldn't be able to rely on her own Skarmory to take care of it this time. There was a similar weariness to have with all of those Pokemon that the redhead would have brought with her - Yumi had seen her fight more than once, and had likely been in many fights since their last. It would be exciting to see how her challenger had grown.
"Don't worry, the rules aren't crazy. I find it to be a stimulating challenge." Ferris beckoned for Yumi to follow her to the challenger's booth - a platform with safety rails and what seemed to be a very basic touch screen console. At a tap, it came to life, displaying an easy-to-read infographic and text regarding each choice when touched. Ferris scrolled through a few while she spoke. "At the beginning of the match, you get to choose one of these variables to introduce to our battle. Terrain change, Reflect, perhaps setting the stage to a dark night's level of light - I've tried to account for many battle situations. Then, each time one of us suffers a knock out, we pick a new rule to add."
Ferris crossed her arms and looked to Yumi, to await any potential questions or comments.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Truth be told Ko-ken was on edge as Ferris came close. He had no fear of the gym leader, in fact, he actually had a surprising level of respect for what he knew of her training style, and how he had just seen her treatment of the local dis-homed humans. The tension in his muscles was like a reflex. He knew exactly what she was capable of, and what her pokemon were capable of, so even having this human near him made him prepare fro some hefty damage.
Guided by Ferris, Yumi was actually a little surprised by the touch screen display, quick to scroll through her apparent options with a slowly settling expression, interested by the possibilities of more than a few, but quickly settling on the one that would give her the best start. Ferris was not someone you could play the long game with in Yumi's opinion, so you had to start strong, and just hope to god she didn't take out your strong players too soon.
"Alright, I think I got it. Ready when you are." Ko-ken hopped within the railed section with Yumi, crossing his arms and standing by her side as she chose another pokeball. Rather than starting with the blue fighter, Yumi would be starting with one of his students, the mighty blaziken that had beaten Ferris in the tournament months ago, emerging in a flash of red the blaziken took a strong stance, letting out a confident screech and preparing herself for battle.
Yumi's finger already hovered over her choice. The rocky, canyon like terrain.
Ferris waited until Yumi gave the word that she was good to go before leaving and crossing the field to enter her own control display. She tapped on the display a few moment, activating the gym for an official battle. All of the lights in the arena became active and focused, shining strong - but not harsh - light down onto the arena. The screen that practically covered an entire wall came to life from the use of a specialized projector, displaying all the standard battle statistics in a live feed - all six Pokemon available to each trainer, as well as miscellaneous data such as weather and current terrain status.
Yumi sent her first choice out - Blaziken, more than likely the same one she had faced off against. This meant that it was going to blitz her in combat, and could also utilize Mega Evolution. Ferris briefly considered her own use of Mega Evolution in battle, but decided against it as her first Pokemon - no, she had another start in mind. Ferris reached into her coat and withdrew a Pokeball, enlarging it, and then tossing it out.
The Empoleon took to the field in a flash of light, letting out its distinctive cry. Calypso readied herself as well. Yumi chose the canyon terrain field effect - the ground seemed to stutter and shake for a bit before the rocky spires shot forth out of the earth in a haphazard pattern in the center of the field and spreading out, some spiking taller than the trainers in their raised platforms. The field settled in on its new look and Calypso stared down her opponent for the match. Ferris cleared her throat and declared her next statement loudly; it was a challenge to the redhead to come at her with all she had.
"Yumi Tasukai, I accept your challenge at the Clearwater Gym. Begin when ready."

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi had to say, this was a huge step from the Gym Ferris Used to run. The old one, as far as she could recall, was just a simplistic field inside a building, while this was a full blown arena, fancy screen and all. She almost felt like she was at the pokemon league tournament all over again, and hey, while she was feelin like that, who better to face than her old first round competitor? Yumi knew full well what Ferris was capable of, so the moment that Empoleon was thrown out, it was no surprise. In fact, it was one hell of a treat. Who the hell wanted an easy battle afterall?
"Nice to see you're Empoleon again Ferris! Hope it's ready for what's about to go down!"
Confident even in the face of such a blaring type disadvantage, Yumi tried to recall what little she could of the Empoleon from their last battle. It was a water type, so odds where it could attack long range, something Tequill didn't necessarily excel at, but with the rocky spires coming out from around them, she had a bit more confidence. Something to work with terrain wise. Thinking through her options, she already knew that this was an unlikely matchup for her to straight up win with, so she had to put Tequill to use from the very start and enact her back up plan if things got too hot and heavy.
"Hope you remember this trick Ferris. Tequill!" The fiery bird rose her beak back to her trainer, giving a confident nod and standing strong as the gem hidden in her hair band began to burn bright enough to show. Yumi herself held her arm across her chest, the gem upon her bracelet giving off an equally powerful shine as she pressed two fingers down upon it, creating the link between trainer and pokemon known as mega evolution. Like many a time before, Tequill was engulfed in a tornado of flames before emerging as an entirely new pokemon, letting out the most powerful of screams and puffing out her chest as a display of strength. Tequill, much like Ko-ken, was another pokemon who had seen Ferris' skill first hand, and knew that there was no time to pull punches. Without even needing an order, she crouched down, ready for her first attack.
"And I also think you'll remember this one. Bulk jump, then will-o-wisp!"
With not even so much as a nod this time, crouching with just her legs, her talons spreading out beneath her red feathery legs, getting as much surface area as they could as the muscle in her legs suddenly expanded, bulking them up to knew levels before leaping high into the sky, far above the field. An easy target? We'll see about that! Blaziken were already known for being able to leap over buildings in single bounds, but mega'd up and with a bulk up under her belt? That was some real height! Reaching the apex of her jump, Tequill let out a confident screech, a challenge to the empoleon she was facing, ready to face down the bird of the opposing elements. Her will-o-wisp took effect, 3 spheres of purple fire forming behind her, rotating as if with a mind of her own before firing down to the battlefield, locked onto the empoleon in a spead triangle formation, making it hard to extinguish all three with a single shot.
"Now that trick? Got that off Elinda, hope ya don't mind.~"

Considering Yumi's penchant for fast attacks and mobility, this field would both hinder and hurt her. While they blocked conventional quick movements, the rocky terrain would give agile Pokemon that could move in these conditions the advantage. Blaziken was one of those. A good move on her part.
Yumi started off strong, immediately turning her Blaziken into its advanced form. Not entirely unexpected, but it certainly proved that Yumi wasn't willing to put the break on at all. She wanted this victory and she was going to through her strongest Pokemon at Ferris first. The gym leader paused to consider the recent training her Empoleon had done with her, and wondered if it would be enough to take out the speed demon. Calypso stared down the transformation and let out a growl of anticipation.
Yumi was consistent in some regards, however; the bulk up trick was something she expected from any of her fighting-type Pokemon and here it was in full force. Empoleon opened her mouth, as if preparing for an attack, but Ferris waited on giving an order. Jumping that high would have no real purpose unless you followed it up wi-
Another attack, which began to form at Yumi's command. "Calpyso, defensive Rock Tomb!" The water-type slammed an arm into the ground, and a series of rocks shot up in front of her and up some of the surrounding spires, forming a small wall that absorbed the flames before crumbling away. That kind of Will-O-Wisp would put her on the defensive, no doubt, but she could use this air time that the Mega Blaziken was in to strike.
The Empoleon moved forward with a spin, letting all of its muscles relax and become limber before kicking off to the left - an L-shaped movement while facing the Blaziken. "Icy Wind!" Calypso sucked in a breathe before firing it off in an artic gust that whistled and moved throughout the gym. It wasn't an attack that would do much, if any damage - but its chilling effects might present a problem for the foe.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Heh, good job Tequill! Ferrish just showed us the card she has to play!"
As her blaziken was falling safely back to the ground, her speed rising steadily as was her ability, Yumi had to admit that the odds of getting off a burn this early into the battle were very low in her mind, but it did let her know one thing. Ferris had no way to attack through it with her Empoleon! It was a move the steel type user, as far as Yumi knew right now, only knew how to defend against rather than counter entirely. With the speed of both fire and water bird steadily rising, it was not a time to waste time, and Yumi's confidence in her opening set was put into her surveyal of the field. The rocky terrain would be helping her out a lot here, as most of her pokemon were likely to have a better chance of navigating around it at high speeds than Ferris' own hefty steel types, but that didn't mean she was entirely safe of course.
Watching the Empoleon Dash towards her with an L shape kick, Yumi was curious as to what Ferris was planning. Odds were she wouldn't want to get up close and personal given Blaziken's clear reliance on that herself, so the need to get close suggested that Ferris just needed that little bit more accuracy for her next attack. She was entirely expecting a hydro pump, but when the Icey wind came? Boy was that a pleasant surprise!
"Tequill! We've used our trick from Elinda, now show 'em what Brook taught us!" Even as she spoke, a small part of Yumi felt proud that this was likely the only Gym leader that could make her use every part of her Blaziken's repertoire. Everything she'd learned from league champions and other Gym leaders was focused on Ferris, and boy was she planning to make this a fight the two of them could remember. Nearly ready to land, Tequill didn't wait for her feet to touch the ground before irradiating a tremendous heat from her body, her feathers ruffling as the heat tried it's best to escape her. The sides of rocks facing her would burn red in close proximity, and much like the blizzard it was meant for, the Icey wind didn't stand a chance in the presence of such a force. "Now! Follow her lead! Bump up your strength!"
With a quick nod, Tequill was quick to follow orders. The moment she landed her muscles in her legs expanded once more, leaping forward, directly for the Empoleon, aiming to strike with an incredibly fast brick break for the water bird. While Yumi's intention wasn't to end this fight with Blaziken, she still needed to use what time the firey bird had on the field to test what the empoleon was capable of. She just hoped she wasn't risking too much already. Whether it was a miss or a hit, the blaziken would stop herself right after the empoleon, making sure she wasn't airborne too long this time.
NOTES
M Blaziken 100% ATK 2 DEF 2 SPD 2 Used heatwave to block icey wind on decent. used Bulk up (launch) towards Empoleon Used brick break.
Mega Blaziken was just too strong to fight in a head-on battle. Given that Yumi was having it strengthen itself, she had no doubts that a direct approach would result in several knock-outs on her own side before she even took it out. While it would be entirely worthwhile of her team to go through two or three of her Pokemon for this, she was worried it would prove too costly in the long run. It would be about trying to lock it down long enough to switch out or blast her... one of her two plans, whichever had to come first.
Incoming Brick Break, and Calypso almost missed it given its speed - if it wasn't for her own Aqua Jet, she would have been sent into the wall for sure. Calypso felt the air of the attack against her spin as she moved to the right, drilling into the rock and shattering through to the other side. "Calypso, Whirlpool!"
The Empoleon broke out of the spin to slam into the ground, launching a sphere from her mouth at the fire-type - an attack that would erupt into the watery whirlwind to try and trap it. A moment later a second was launch, trying to take advantage of any dodging attempts to catch the Blaziken out. If these missed, she might be in serious trouble. Ferris stared down the combatants and wondered which would land the first blow.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi was feeling confident, a sensation she never truly felt against Gwyneth before, and while she enjoyed it for the moment she knew it wouldn't last. Her attempts to strike the empoleon had Ferris on the run and Yumi on the offensive, a position she reveled in and hoped she could keep at least until the empoleon was gone. With no desire to wait, Yumi tried her best to see if she could land the decisive first hit.
"It's gonna blow Tequill! Get in close to that empoleon!"
With her speed increasing once more, Tequill rushed forward with a quick attack, almost directly towards the sphere that was fired at it, tilting her body to allow it to pass by and erupt into it's swirling form behind her, her speed allowing her to just barely escape the reach of the extending torrent. With a second sphere of water incoming, there was no reason for Tequill to stop her advance, she continued to rush forward, confident in her charge, and then...
FWOOSH
Before both trainer's eyes, the second sphere erupted directly in the face of the Blaziken. Neither of them could even see the firey bird anymore as the whirlpool erupted, barely stopping its expanse before it reached the empoleon itself. For a moment Yumi seemed to hang her head, her red bangs hiding her eyes. While it was hard to see, even as she held her head in minor defeat, Ferris may have saw a...smile?
"GET 'EM!~" "SAAAA!"
With Yumi suddenly rearing up her head, gripping the rail of her little stand tight, her smile erupted into a full blown, fang filed grin! Ko-ken standing quick by her side, raising a fist and throwing his bicep into his other hand as he stared down at the field. Tequill was behind the empoleon! The speed of her earlier quick attack, and a clever use of double team being her tools in escaping the swirling torrent that was the whirpool. Her true self leaped high into the air as her clone took the hit, thanful that most attention would likely be on the swirling water, before landing fast and hard behind the empoleon itself, a leg swinging around for a chance to land a powerful brick break!

The false success is the worst one. Ferris had learned in her battle with an archaeologist to take everything a step at the time, and to never assume the plan worked. Wait for visual confirmation and carry on. When the first Whirlpool missed, Ferris waited for the second to hit before she began to speak out to her Empoleon, but the tidings were cut short by looking up - with a grimace, Ferris saw the Blaziken dropping to the ground and preparing to strike. "Calypso, move" was what she had time to say as her Empoleon shot forward with Aqua Jet, the blow coming too close for comfort.
This wasn't working and Ferris knew it, and Empoleon hadn't finished her dash before Ferris recalled her into the Pokeball. She threw out one in her other hand, face set in the stone of concentration as she wondered how Yumi would react to this combatant. The bell-like shaped formed and with a ring, Bronzong slammed into the ground, taking up a psychic shimmer to levitate itself and then echoing this shimmer out.
"Alright, Yumi. Calypso can't match your mega evolution, but this should give you a run for your money. Yee, switch up the room!" At that command phrase, the Bronzong rang out once more and glowed. Orbs seemed to fill the room like bubbles for a moment, covering just the edges of the arena before some of them popped. Ferris didn't smile - she knew Trick Room alone wouldn't be enough to stop this Blaziken, but she was eager to see how this trainer would react. Not a lot of people had experience facing down this technique and Ferris was betting on Yumi's reliance of speed and power to upset the balance.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Damnit! That was the single word that slipped through Yumi and Tequill's heads as the empoleon slipped away from such a close call once more. They weren't angry, in fact, they were impressed, but still, when you come so close only to miss? Who wouldn't be a tad dissapointed? Even through it though she was only getting more and more fired up, and even with the switch, she knew she would only get more and more surprises, all of them intensifying the battle.
"Bring me whatever ya got Ferris! Tequill and I ain't backing down any time soon!"
The blaziken gave a confident screech, and as the bronzong took to the field, the bird and Yumi were admittadly confused. The Bronzong was hardly an upgrade in terms of manuverability, and it was about equally strong from a typing perspective, the psychic covering fighting type moves rather than the water's fire. Still, Yumi couldn't let her guard down. This pokemon was indeed a psychic type, and they could be extremely difficult to deal with, seeing as most of their attacks weren't even visible to the naked eye. She only hoped she could spot the signs before they were too late, and from the trick room being set up, she'd have to make sure she spotted them as early as possible.
"Tequill...thanks to that aqua jet there's a fair bit of distance between you and the bronzong. Make it bigger and then put it to use!"
Tequill gave a quick nod, bulking up her legs and leaping backwards, the new enviroment making her retreat much slower than normal, but that was hardly what was important here. Even before she landed her body began to radiate a tremendous heat, screeching out as it seemed to envelop most of the field infront of her, not just for the normal duration, but continuing beyond that, her immense heat making the faces of the nearby rocks to her turn a bright red, and even making Yumi sweat a little as it radiated to the platforms above. The trick room was gonna be a pain, but they could at least be rid of the pokemon who would use it most.

The Trick Room was going to be the real way to take down this Blaziken. While that thing seemed to get impossibly faster and faster, a flickering flame in the gym, Ferris needed to slow it way down to turn it into a deadweight. The issue for her, however, was that Blaziken was fast and strong. Just slowing it down wasn't going to be enough to stop it, which was where part two of her Bronzong plan was going to come in.
If she could get that far, that is - Yumi ordered a fire-type attack, and Ferris knew that Yee didn't have the Heatproof ability. "Yee, barrier!" The Bronzong glowed lavender, then released the attack and shattered the rocky spires ahead of him. The scattering debris of rocks absorbed the first Heat Wave, which was all Ferris had anticipated - the extended duration, however, ripped into the rocks and past, scorching the front of Yee as he let out a ringing cry of pain and then fell to the ground with a thud.
Ferris grunted as Yee picked himself up with his psychic powers, obviously scorched and hurt. He was up though - one last attack was going to be coming from her for this fight. "Alright Yee, let's show them your real power!" The Bronzong chimed once more and fiercely glowed, the entire battlefield weighing down on itself as gravity increased. Some rocky spires seemed to crack under the weight and Bronzong hit the ground, no longer able to levitate. The glow remained however, and Yee's eyes glowed and locked onto Blaziken before taking on a glow similar to Blaziken's - Skill Swap at work! With the combined efforts of Gravity and Trick Room, Ferris was sure this technique was going to hit and double the Blaziken's weight again, giving it four times the weight it was ever meant to carry.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi pumped a fist into the air as she got in the first solid attack of the battle, even Ko-ken giving a small smile beside her as he realized the attack had landed. Tequill too giving a small smirk at her work and crossing her arms over her chest as she stood atop one of the rocky spires, perched on it's tip like a hero of the battlefield...but this is when things started to turn upside down for the mighty blaziken. With the Gravity coming into effect, the dong of the bell pokemon hitting the ground was enough to signal the sudden increase in weight, like a audio cue for the sudden pressure Tequill would feel on her legs, Yumi and Ko-ken too wobbling a but, just outside the true range of gravity, but still affected on a minor level. With the rock she stood upon already beginning to crack, the Blaziken hopped off, thankful that her bulked up physique had her handling most of the extra weight relatively easily. It was only when she took a step forward, an attempt to rush the bronzong or prepare for another heat wave, that she felt the true effects of this plan.
Her beak hit the floor faster than a depressed alcoholic hit the booze.
The sudden increase in weight once more from the skill swap was too much to bear, she was struggling to stand, and even when she did she knew full well that even another bulk up couldn't get her back on her A-game. With w glare toward the Bronzong, she cursed it under her breath for ending her time on the field, before letting out a screech to signal her situation to Yumi.
"Gotta switch early huh? Well..." Yumi instinctively reached for a pokeball on her belt, but the moment she realized it likely wasn't the best choice in these circumstance, another...far more suiting choice came to mind. A pokemon that was used to standing strong as a brick wall, and was meant to be the most immovable of objects. "Tequill! Baton pass!"
Without hesitation, the Blaziken followed the command, slamming her palms together, a golden rod imbued with her buffs forming and caught nice and tight in her claw. Gravity may have been in effect, but bou was she still a strong bird. Without even taking a step, she reared back, and launched the baton towards Bronzong, the blaziken herself absorbed in a flash of red soon after, and another flash of red following in the next instant, forming just before the bronzong, a beefy mit catching the flung baton pass and absorbing the energy within it.
"CHESNAUGHT!"
Having whispered her commands into the pokeball before throwing her grass fighter out, Yumi let him get to work. Right in the Bronzong's face, he thrust his right arm forward, attempting to slash it with an aerial ace as quick as he could throw it. As if that wasn't enough, as his stance held strong, and earthquake would flow from the pads of his feet, shaking up the already crumbling spires of the arena, removing a good few of them from play almost entirely.
"Get 'em Oscar!"
