Ambitions: Tobias's aspirations are set on power. As was his father before him, he intends on honing his skills to the best of his capabilities in battling. If the method by which he can achieve such ambitions is by defeating the elite four, then so be it. But titles do not hold much weight in his eyes. Simply, his goal is improvement. HISTORY Tobias was born and raised in Castelia City in Unova. It was in this land that he developed an appreciation for Pokemon battling. His father was an unsuccessful trainer, who gave up his dream at an early age in order to persue a more financially sound life. Tobias considers his father to be a failure as such. His mother died while he was still a toddler, and most of his memories of her have faded. As Tobias grew older, he attempted to manifest his desire to be a trainer. He managed to capture a few Pokemon, even having none of his own initially. However, his father only voiced discouragement for such ambitions, rooted in his own life course. He offerred that while the life of a champion may be an honorable achievement, the path is unforgiving, and a comfortable life can be found without such risks. Tobias took this as an insult to his capabilities. After considering his life, he found that there was nothing for him to gain by staying with his father, and so he departed from his family's home in Castelia City, bound for new horizons.Tobias arrived in Nue, having taken nothing of his old life - sans his Pokemon - with him. He has no attachment to any one entity, and is only determined to gain power as a trainer. He originally intended on working toward the Pokemon League, but after finding much information about the presence of organized teams in the region, he is willing to take alternative routes to greatness. He poked at his jacket pocket and felt his two pokeballs. He wished he were allowed to call them out during this time, but it was forbidden in the terminal. He looked among the crowds of people, hustling to their destinations. He envied them - they knew what was ahead of them. He figured none of those easygoers would have to forge their own path. His thoughts came to a hault as a voice caught his attention. "Hi," said a girl, as she sat down across from Tobias. She was a young, attractive woman, with a bright, sunny face. He took a moment to contemplate whether he should respond. Tobias replied, "Hey," mostly on his breath. "Going to Nue?" "Yeah," he said halfheartedly. "Are you excited?" "Nope." "No? I hear it's beatiful there!" "Mhm..." The girl's face was fading. She had lost interest in Tobias. "Alright, well," she went on, "Enjoy yourself." Tobias offerred a weak grunt in reply, as the girl gathered her travel case and found another seat. An announcer appeared on the system, and declared that Tobias's flight would begin boarding.
