With Sunshine and Sky around, not to mention her own “queen” who absolutely refused to listen to her right now, Rachel decided to add a little more “variety” to her assortment of companions. She knew that things would happen in some sort of order; and that usually involved her getting into trouble with a herd of rampaging creatures and one of her own companions stepping up and defending her from the things—or something like that. “Who said that raising these guys was easy,” she began, before finally arriving at her destination—this fishing village called Bayonada, with its proximity to the water. There were weird stories circulating the town, but she’d have to check it out later, because right now she was on a mission…sort of.
After asking a few of the locals for directions on how to be able to get to the nearby beaches, she finally found her way over to the pristine white sands, and then looked out at the ocean, as far as the eye could see. “Damn, Unova has nothing that can beat this, well, maybe Humilau—but the view here is loads nicer,” she began, whistling as she looked out, cupping a hand to her eyes and squinting out as far as she could. Now that she was here… what would she do next? Why, walk around the shallow tides and hope that she didn’t run into anything too nasty, of course!

It didn’t take too long for Rachel, who was wandering in the shallow surf to come across something that would catch her attention—by promptly squirting water all over her! She then let out a yelp of surprise, and looked through the shallows for the culprit—but didn’t see the Remoraid initially; who then decided to have a bit of fun with this one by suddenly blasting another jet of water her way; thoroughly soaking her top by this point.
Secretly thankful that she’d worn one of her black tops today instead one of the more…lighter ones, she then began scanning the surface of the water, trying to pick out just what the hell was causing her so much trouble—and saw a flicker of movement in the shallows, before another thin, quick spray of water burst forth and almost caught her in the face!
She then let out another shriek as the little Remoraid continued to bait her from the surface of the shallows; before realizing that it was just getting way out of hand. She knew that Grass could trump Water at least, and plucked her other containment unit before tossing it high, and watching as the flash of red light then revealed her Petilil, Sunshine. As the little Grass-type landed in the shallow surf, the cute little thing then looked around rather curiously before hearing Rachel’s high-pitched shrieking because of the Remoraid that was literally having its fun with her.
“Sunshine! A little…help here, please?” she began, before attempting to dodge the blasts of water that were now peppering her. “Try to get that little thing down, because I can’t keep walking with it bothering me!” she continued, her pitch going up at the last part of the sentence—and the little Petilil then shook her head; before huffing up and cutting off the next jet of water with a storm of leaves that suddenly appeared from out of nowhere—it had gone on ahead and used Magical Leaf!
The jets of water then stopped smacking Rachel around—because there was now one very pissed, extremely annoyed Petilil who was now calling the shots. In retaliation for getting cut off, the Remoraid then took a good long look at the Grass-type; having used Lock-On, before taking aim and then letting the next attack it had fired off (which was Water Pulse, but of course Rachel knew absolutely nothing of this) race towards the Petilil—who then saw the burst of water incoming and then headed it off with a last-minute Energy Ball attack! The two attacks met halfway—while some of the runoff from Water Pulse had managed to strike the Petilil, most of it had been blocked by the natural ball of green energy, which then quickly burst apart, showering the entire area with water!
The stunned human could only watch as the Petilil then raised its leafy appendages before quickly conjuring up a beam that looked like it was bubbling rather ominously, which then made a beeline for the Remoraid, who attempted to block it with another blast of water—unfortunately for the Remoraid, though, the water was dissipated by the Grass-type attack and the Giga Drain had connected, latching on to the weird fish that was now trying to gnash and break free, but felt its own strength getting sapped out of it.
In exchange, the Petilil continued to drink up the energy it was leeching off; before quickly conjuring up another storm of those weird leaves that then raced towards it, cutting up the fish from all angles, and finally ending the entire thing with another ball of greenish, naturally-colored energy, which then smacked the mid-thrashing fish halfway through another one of its attempts to break free.
The little fish then floated up towards the surface, too exhausted to continue, and as if in a trance, Rachel took out one of those two weird containment things, and chucked it at the passed-out Remoraid, watching as it got sucked up into the aforementioned flash of red light…

Now that Rachel had finally managed to catch the annoying little fish, she then decided to continue along the seashore, letting the water lap at her feet while Sunshine played in the surf. However, the idyllic little scene of cute interaction was going to be brought to a rather rude stop with a sudden loud screeching noise—that made Rachel stop and look up. “What the hell?” she began, before trying to squint over the horizon, trying to pick out what the hell had caused that noise—apparently there was a low-flying seabird that had crashed into the little Grass-type and the two were now in an argument.
“Oy…” she began, rolling her eyes as she then made her way down the shoreline towards where her Petilil was now screeching in her high-pitched language, yelling at the Wingull. For some reason, though, Rachel felt a rather strange twinge of annoyance—but there were no other humans nearby. What was going on…?
She then looked over at her Petilil, who was still furiously screeching at the Wingull—and the Wingull was screeching back as well; and then she felt it again! This time it wasn’t annoyance, it was getting to the point that one of the emotions was anger, dripping, raw, undefined. Unknowingly, she then raised a hand to her forehead, while the other one went up in a “stop” gesture, before she began speaking up once again, “Alright, alright, you two, calm the hell down! You’re making me want to throw up in the water!” in a rising intonation, it caused both the Wingull and the Petilil to look at the human rather strangely.
At this instance, the Wingull then quickly decided to take advantage of the situation, boosting its speed with Agility, before zooming in suicidally close to the Petilil and unleashing a point-blank Aerial Ace.
The little Bulb ‘mon didn’t even see what was coming and let out a surprised shriek—it did feel the sensation of soaring through the air and landing hard on the sand a few seconds later though. “SUNSHINE!” she shouted a few moments later, having registered the rather loud shriek of pain a few seconds later; because she was trying to decipher what had just happened moments ago. “Sunshine! Are you okay?!” she asked rather frantically, before picking up the poor, battered little Petilil and cuddling her really close. “You hurt? Anything broken?” she continued, before shooting her best attempt at a withering glare at the Wingull, who was now chuckling rather derisively to himself.
“You’re so dead… you are so going to get it…” she hissed a few moments later, and after finally returning her Petilil to its containment unit, sent out her other companion—and from the beam of red light burst forth a large, red-white-and-blue Braviary, who then stretched his wings out as wide as he could go.
“Sky… get him!” she shouted, pointed forward, and without further ado, the Braviary flapped his wings and took off, before flapping them wildly—the Tailwind had picked up once more and the Wingull was so surprised to see the much larger avian in front of him, he’d summoned up a Hurricane and had sent it towards the Braviary in sheer horror. The breviary was faster though, and managed to cut across the Hurricane, which was whipping up sand before petering out, having missed its target—and in retaliation, unloaded a Crush Claw attack on the Wingull who was completely not expecting to get beamed right in the face.
Out of shock, the Wingull let out a cry of pain, before matching it with an Aerial Ace—and the Braviary matched it with his own Aerial Ace, forcing the Wingull back. It was one thing to see Sky mad.To completely tip him off the edge was another thing entirely—and that’s because his mistress was in utter distress, and he’d taken it upon himself to send the thing packing.
After a furious flurry of claws and wing-flapping, the Braviary had driven the Wingull back and away from them—and then promptly turned to face Rachel, who’d watched the entire thing in silence. “Sky… oh… I know that it’s you. Get over here, you big brute, you,” she began, and the Braviary felt a strange wave of relief as he then let out a victorious squawk before flying in for a hug.

This time, it was Rachel and her Braviary who were walking down the coastline—well, the Braviary was hovering beside her while she was wading through the surf—and she continued to look around the area, taking in the sights. She knew that the peace wouldn’t last too long, because the sounds of battle would eventually attract a scuffle of some kind again. She could feel a twinge of pride, but couldn’t pick out where exactly it was coming from.
It was only when she looked beside her to see the Braviary looking at her with a rather…intimidating glare in the eye; she then stared back at him. “Sky? Are you the one doing that?” she asked the Valiant ‘mon curiously, and she paid attention for the little twinges that would signal a normal shift of emotion—and she felt a wave of surprise wash over her as the Braviary then let out a squawk of surprise.
So it also seems that it affects Pokémon, too… but not on a higher scale as it does with Blondie, or anyone human around me. Or does it? She thought as the larger version of her chubby-bunny then let out a few indignant squawks, before suddenly zooming forward and snatching something out of the water. “Wait. What the hell?” she continued, blinking and watching as the Brav continued to squawk rather shrilly, before finally dropping whatever it had seen onto the sand. She then rushed out of the shallow surf, and saw that he’d picked up a fish. And what a peculiar-looking fish it was!
It was purple, and looked absolutely sickly. She could only help but wonder what had set off Sky like that, and made to approach it, hoping to test out her little theory that she was unfolding, when suddenly the little thing then unleashed a spray of purple, noxious goo!
“BRAAAAAAAV!” she heard the Braviary squawk, quickly flapping up a Tailwind and boosting his speed, in order to be able to knock Rachel out of the way of the purple spray. She then let out a shriek as she fell over onto the sand, before the Valiant ‘mon veered in close and let out a Crush Claw, the better to deal with this ruffian. In retaliation, the Skrelp then fired off a blast of high-pressured water in order to bat the Braviary back, but the water blast had missed—because the avian had cut away from the path of the incoming water, before unloading the aforementioned Crush Claw on the offending Skrelp.
The sick-looking sea horse let out a cry of shock, before unloading another attack—this one looked weird, but it sent chills up Rachel’s spine as she continued to watch the Braviary tussle with the little thing. The Dragon Pulse had smacked the Braviary upside the head, and it let out a surprised cry as the pain hit him in full force, while the Skrelp snickered derisively at its small success.
It was short-lived, though, as the Braviary had taken true insult to the Dragon Pulse and zoomed in close for an Aerial Ace, while the Skrelp tried to dodge away, seemingly making multiple copies of itself—an attempt to fool the Braviary. However, Aerial Ace was one of those attacks that was a guaranteed hit—and all the body doubles faded away the moment the Flying-type attack had smacked the Skrelp across the face as well, in retaliation of what it had done with the Dragon-type attack.
The entire scene made absolutely no sense to Rachel at all, but she just continued to watch as the Braviary batted the Skrelp backwards, not realizing that she was holding her other empty containment unit in hand—and then once it had been snatched up in the Brav’s claws and dropped in front of her, she knew what to do…
“Alright, stop picking on the poor thing. Calm down, Sky.” Was all she said as she chucked the thing at the sick-looking sea horse, watching as it got sucked up in a flash of red light…

As she watched the weird, sick, purple-colored sea horse-like thing struggle against the containment unit, she then crouched down to poke at the thing, watching the Skrelp (not that she knew what it was called) struggle and thrash against the container. After finally giving up and flopping over out of exhaustion (the weird containment units were sort-of see through thanks to the top, but she had no idea why) it went off with a loud ding, upon which she then scooped it up and then looked at it rather curiously.
“Sky… what am I supposed to do?” she asked the Braviary, to which he gave her a rather…inquiring, if somewhat confused, look. “Oh, wait, sorry, I know you have no idea what I’m supposed to do about this, so…” she trailed off, looking sheepishly at the avian’s direction, who just then scoffed before poking the big button on the thing.
To both their surprise, the containment unit that held the now-slumbering sickly-looking sea horse shrunk down, and then she gave her Braviary a knowing look. “Are you sure you’re not shitting with me, Sky?” she began with a grin on her face, to which the Brav rearranged its face to look quite puzzled. “You’re certainly the tricky one, hm?” she continued, before reaching under his chin and giving him a tickle, to which he began squawking rather contentedly.
The two were so busy with aforementioned chin tickling session they didn’t notice that there was a heart-shaped fish that was now swimming close to them in the shallow surf—it was only with the sound of the waves that the two then looked down, and saw a harmless-looking little thing. Or was it?
Knowing that their business was done here, she then whistled, before Sky took off with a sudden flapping of his wings. “We’re out of here. I have to get this weird fish thing checked, because yeah, he looks really sick and on the verge of collapse…” she began, and the Braviary was now waiting for her to follow him, and that she did—the Luvdisc was a bit dismayed to see the two leaving the scene.
