During Josh's trip to the Wilds in order to find the place that Kouji's assistant had spoken of, he had happened to come across a range of Pokemon, all that he ended up having to deal with in combat. Of course, this ended up peaking Josh's interest. I mean, why would it not? He was a Pokemon Trainer after all, and he loved to catch, raise and train a variety of Pokemon. He also got paid for the Pokemon he caught by his folks when he allowed them to research the different types of Pokemon he had, but that was a different story. Alas, he had returned to the Wilds in order to see if he could find any of these Pokemon he had found before, with the intent of battling and capturing each one. Expanding his roster was something he hadn't focused on all month. It was about time he gave it a shot. As he, with Lightning on his shoulder, walked through the Grasslands portion of the Wilds, he wondered just what he might find...

First thing he heard was a rustling in the bushes nearby. "Hm?" Josh let out as he looked over. "Sentret!" Something would let out as a Sentret would poke it's little head out of the bushes. "Hey, aren't those native to Johto?" Josh would ask Lightning as he would... Well, he couldn't check his Pokedex because he didn't have one, but he DID know that Sentret lived in Johto usually. So seeing one here in Nue was a treat indeed! "I guess we were right to come here" He said with a small smile. "Alright, let's see.... Go, Kaz!" He called as he brought out his Bellsprout. "Bellsprout!" Kaz let out as he would dance around a bit, seeming excited about the prospect of an actual battle. "Quick, use Sleep Powder!" Josh would call to Kaz. "Bell!" He would respond as he unleashed a Sleep Powder, to which the Sentret would respond to by ducking into the bushes. Once it was gone, the Sentret realized it was under attack and leap out. "SENTREEEEET!" It would call as it would nail Kaz with Sucker Punch.
Josh took a breath... This wasn't going to be easy. "Wrap!" Josh called, taking advantage of the close range. Kaz would nod and manage to summon vines, wrapping them around the Sentret and making sure it wasn't going anywhere. The Sentret would respond by hitting Kaz with several Sucker Punches. "Come on Kaz, pacify it with Sweet Scent, then nail it with Gastro Acid!" Josh would call. Kaz would respond by emitting a sweet scent that seemed to lower the Sentret's guard a bit, before suddenly hitting it with a close-ranged Gastro Acid that would cause it to let out a scream, all while brutally squeezing the air out of it's lungs. The Sentret would keep fighting with Sucker Punch, but it was obviously starting to tire. "Hold out and wrap it a little while longer!" Josh called as the Bellsprout would tighten it's grip, causing the Sentret to emit a scream. "Now, Sleep Powder!" Josh called. The Bellsprout would nod before using the hold it had on Sentret to emit the Sleep Powder again, causing Sentret to fall into a deep sleep.
Josh would nod and motion for Kaz to release Sentret, prompting Josh to toss a Poke Ball at it.

Josh would take a deep breath as the ball would click and the Sentret's Pokemon would disappear in a bright light, transported back to the Ranch. "Good, good" Josh said with a small smile. "Great job, Kaz. I want you to take a good rest" He said as he would return his Bellsprout to his Pokeball. But as the ball for Sentret disappeared, Josh looked over and noticed that a Zangoose had just pounced on the spot that Sentret had just been. It seemed Josh had inadvertently robbed Zangoose of it's planned prey!
Josh let out a gulp. This hadn't been what he had in mind. But he had to do something, ASAP. But who could he use against a monster like this one?
Then he knew. He took a deep breath. He knew one of his Pokemon had a deep hatred of Zangoose for one reason or another. And surprisingly, it wasn't a Seviper. "Go, Ignis!" He said as he brought out his Monferno. "Monferno!" He let out, before his eyes locked with the Zangoose. And then, like that, the Monferno would be set aflame as his anger reached a boiling point. "MONFERRRRRRRRNOOOOOOOOOOO!" He screamed in anger. Okay, he more then hated Zangoose. He DETESTED Zangoose. Hopefully Josh could tap into this power. Zangoose wasn't amused, and it's claws would glow as it angrily lunged at Ignis. He needed to take his anger out on someone and went for X-Scissor!
"Ignis, use Flamethrower!" Josh called. "Mon... FERRRNOOOO!" he let out as he loosed a large jet of angry flames that would stop Zangoose in it's tracks as it let out a scream in anger, hatred and agonizing pain. And then as the Flamethrower stopped, an aura of red light would temporarily engulf Zangoose, hurting it more! Ignis had burnt it! "Alright Ignis, keep it up!" Josh said as the angry Zangoose would lunge at him again with X-Scissor suddenly, hitting him dead on. Josh gritted his teeth as Ignis went back. "Thunder Punch, close range, take advantage!" Josh said as the enraged Monferno's fists would spark as he lunged at his opponent. One punch, two punch, three Thunder Punches whacked and zapped the Zangoose good! "Keep it up!" He said as the Monferno would go for another punch, only for Zangoose to grab his wrist and hit him with Crush Claw, slamming him down.
"Don't give up, Ignis!" Josh called. The Zangoose would go for Crush Claw again, but the Monferno would roll out of the way. "Nasty Plot, Flamethrower!" Josh called, two attacks in unison. Ignis's eyes would gleam for a moment, before he would suddenly unleash an even hotter stream of flames right into the head of Zangoose before it could hit him attack with another Crush Claw. It caught him by surprise and blinded Zangoose, who was still suffering from burn as well.
"Finish it, Ignis! Thunder Punch!" Josh called. "MONFERRRNOOOO!" He let out as he nailed him with one more electrified punch, putting Zangoose down for the count as Josh would throw the Pokeball.

Josh would nod a bit as the ball would click and disappear, heading off to the ranch. "Good job, Ignis" He said as he would move to pat Ignis on the head. Instead though, the fire on Ignis's tail would grow, and he would unleash Flamethrower into the air. "Ignis, calm down!" Josh called as he tried to grab ahold of Ignis, only to be shaken off as the enraged Monferno would continue firing. One particular attack would end up hitting another Pokemon, a Girafarig, who in it's rage would attack Ignis with a Psychic attack, sending him back. "MONNNNFERRRNOOOOO!" Ignis screamed. That Zangoose had really riled it up, Josh thought... He didn't even know if Ignis would listen to him.
This wasn't the first time Josh had dealt with Pokemon that didn't listen. Fawkes had been this way before... But never this bad. He just hoped he could calm Ignis down before....
"MONNFERRRNOOOO!" He screamed as he unleashed against Flamethrower, hitting his opponent head on. Once he finished with Flamethrower however, Girafarig would suddenly use Agility, charging at Ignis before leaping into the air and going for Stomp. "Ignis! Use-" Josh began, but was cut off when Ignis would leap into the air, meeting Stomp with Thunder Punch. Both attacks would connect, sending both Pokemon to the ground. "Ignis, you have to listen to me!" Josh commanded, moving his hand horizontally in a commanding motion. "You won't be able to defeat it if we don't work together!"
But Ignis wasn't listening. The enraged monkey would quickly spring up and go for another Thunder Punch, savagely hitting the Girafarig head on and sending it back in a scream of pain. Josh gritted his teeth. He was hoping to catch Pokemon.. But not this way. Not this way! How savage his formerly sweet and innocent Chimchar had become was... Frightening. Pokemon changed when they evolved... But was this a permanent thing? No, Josh knew he couldn't give up on Ignis. The Monferno would continue laying continuous Thunder Punches on the prone Girafarig in a blind rage. Josh could only wonder what had induced such a rage... He had been like this ever since seeing that Zangoose, but why?
"Wait..." He thought to himself. He remembered one day when they had been on a picnic, when Ignis was still a Chimchar. He had gotten curious and wandered off, and when Josh had found him, he had accidentally been caught in the middle of a turf war between warring Zangoose and Seviper. Ignis had been injured pretty badly from it, and Josh had rushed him to a Pokemon Center. He seemed fine after... He didn't realize that Ignis had suffered any psychological effects from the experience. But... He should have known better, he thought. Having such a frightening experience when you're so young... He didn't blame Ignis for lashing out at the sight of them.
"Ignis, I understand you! Please! Calm down!" He yelled at Ignis. "We can do this together, Ignis! I know why you're angry!" He pleaded. But Ignis wasn't listening. Girafarig would make a last ditch effort to save itself with Psychic, but it was too weak to execute it, and Ignis would unleash a Flamethrower hitting it dead on. Josh knew he had no choice and tossed a Pokeball at Girafarig to save it.

The ball would click, and Girafarig would disappear, saved from a violent death by the hands of Ignis, but therein still lied the problem. The Monferno was still rampaging. And his rage had attracted another angry Pokemon that saw one thing and that was a challenge: Poochyena. Poochyena saw this angry monkey demon and saw a challenge. A challenge to allow it to evolve and increase it's stance within the wild Pokemon kingdom, if you could call it one. Before Josh could stop Ignis, he heard a growl. A vicious, hostile growl from the pooch that had come from out of the bushes before it would spring out and go for Assurance on Ignis, knocking him over. The Poochyena would sink it's teeth into Ignis, who let out a scream in agony and rage. He flailed around, but the Poochyena was sinking it's sharp jaws into him like crazy.
"Ignis!" Josh cried out as he watched the horrific amount of pain he was in. "Ignis, you gotta come back to your senses!" He yelled. "We can't do this alone! Please, just trust me!" He pleaded to the screaming Monferno. "You've gotta trust me, Ignis!" Josh called. Ignis would slowly manage to look over at his Trainer.
"Please... Just trust me..." He pleaded. "Ignis.... Air your head toward Poochyena and use Flamethrower!" He commanded. The Monferno would decide to oblige, tilting it's head toward Poochyena. "MONFERRRRNOOOOO!" He screamed as he loosed a massive jet of flames toward Poochyena, causing it to fall off, screaming in pain. Ignis's flames had grown to a massive pace... The consequence of Blaze.
"Alright, Ignis!" Josh said as Ignis would look back at him and nod. They seemed to have an understanding now... A trust. Even enraged, Ignis knew he could trust Josh to do the right thing when it came to both their safety. "Now, let's do this!" He said as he pointed to the Poochyena who had recovered and thrown itself at him again with Assurance. "Thunder Punch!" Josh would command. "Mooooon-FERRRNOOOO!" He would respond as Ignis's fists would spark, charging head-on toward Poochyena and intercepting it with a hard electrical punch, sending it back. "Fire Spin!" Josh called and Ignis would send a stream of flames flying around Poochyena, trapping it in a wave of heat, a circle. The heat was insane, and Josh knew just how to take advantage.
"Flamethrower, send it into the circle!" Josh commanded, throwing a fist in the air. "MONNNFERRRNOOOO!" The Blaze-induced Monferno would scream as he unleashed a vicious stream of flames into the circle, hitting the Poochyena dead-on and sending it into the flames, burning it hard. It would collapse to the ground as the fire spin would end and Josh would toss a Pokeball at it.
