Daxton wasn't all too familiar with the Nue region yet, but he wasn't the kind of guy to walk away from an adventure like this. He loved danger, and almost craved it from time to time. He crouched and slid down the rough, but loose terrain. Gravel fell around his ankles as he looked back to his Lucario, hopping down after him. He wasn't gonna use Metagross for this, if he did, he would be so out of shape, it wouldn't be funny. He was walking calmly when he stopped suddenly, making Auxru bump into him.
His Lucario would have growled at him if he didn't know his master was there to look for Mega stones. He was after those and several other precious items. He looked at his master, who was looking around. Good thing he was on Team Magma, this made the rough terrain cave much more intriguing than it would have originally been. Daxton smiled at the formations in the cave, commenting on the various minerals that ran down them, leaving a green pattern mixed in with a stalactite.
Daxton's light blue eyes moved side to side as he stepped over a thin stream of water, looking down and around for anything that would catch his eye. Spotting something strange and out of the ordinary, he moved over to a seemingly misplaced rock, and looked around it cautiously, his Numel, Caldera, coming out to investigate as well.
Daxton raised an eyebrow at the fossil and decided to leave it alone. Of course, he was strongly tempted to pick it up. Fossil Pokemon were renowned for how powerful they could be, but he could never use it. He had his Bastiodon, Granite, and he was more than enough for Daxton. Besides, he preferred Steel type Pokemon over anything else. He reached over and patted Caldera gently, scratching him behind his ears.
Standing up, Daxton continued down the path he was originally on, keeping his eyes peeled and watching as various Pokemon wandered around him, some skittering away from him from surprise. A few running off at the sight of the Lucario walking proudly next to it's master, giving them the eye.
Daxton walked down and deeper into the rough terrain. The ruins fascinated him and all he could do was smile as he walked down the rubble ridden path. He smiled down at Caldera, who had began wandering towards a strange formation.
"Caldera. What are you doing?"
He moved to follow his Numel. Maybe he found something far beyond interesting.
Daxton smiled at the gleaming sight and picked up the stone, rolling it in his hand some before pocketing the Sharpedonite. He wasn't quite sure if he was ever going to use it, but he liked rare things, and tended to collect them if they were of the... rock like variety. He reached down and gave Numel a good pat to the back, rubbing him behind his ears. "Good boy Caldera. You might be more material for my team that I originally measured you to be." He was gonna swap him out for an Aron for this trip, but he decided that he should keep the sixth slot on his belt for a Pokemon that wasn't Steel type. It hurt... a lot... to make that decision, but it was for the better. Walking away, he called for Caldera and Auxru to follow.
He found one thing for the day, now it was time for another. He wanted to collect more Pokemon that could be of use to him, and raise up his Numel. If Caldera was gonna be part of his team, he had to be big, and strong. He had to be able to move a bit quicker and hit a lot harder. For a while now, he's had good combinations between his five boys, but he figured that his Lucario would pair up well in a battle beside a Camerupt. But before any of that could happen, he was gonna have to raise his Numel, and that takes work... not as much as a Metagross, but a considerable amount.
Smiling, he walked on his way and started looking for wild Pokemon. To him, it didn't matter how big it was. He had his big boys on his belt still and if anything appeared in front of him, he was more than confident they could take it on. With a skip in his step, he wandered deeper, holding a rock in his hand. He drew back and threw the rock, listening to see if he stirred anything other than a bunch of pesky Zubat.
Daxton set a good stance and looked down at his Numel. "All right Caldera, time to show me what you got." He then turned to the Hippopotas and signaled for Caldera to step up. The Hippopotas bristled at the sight of the Numel stepping forward and immediately lunged forward, biting Caldera while a sandstorm brewed down there. He wasn't quite sure how it was happening, but then he recognized, it's ability must be sand stream. He looked up at the opening and looked around, squinting his eyes, still trying to figure out the sand.
The Numel twisted some, trying to get away from the Hippopotas. "Auxru, look away and cover your ears. Caldera! yawn!" He responded instantly, opening his mouth and letting out a yawn, which in turn, affected the Hippopotas. The wild pokemon yawned and let go of Numel, giving him a chance to bounce back.
"Caldera! Lava Plume!" The Pokemon fired away at the Hippopotas, knocking it to the side. The wild Pokemon struggled to it's feet and shook it's head angrily. Daxton blinked, but shouldn't have, because the ground started shaking. It used earthquake, hitting Caldera roughly. His Numel struggled to take the hit, but did for his master. Caldera was determined to prove his worth and impress the bigger boys.
The Hippopotas yawned one last time and collapsed to the ground, sleeping peacefully. The only real sound is the slight trickling of water, the sound of sand blowing around and hitting his Numel and that sound of Caldera breathing heavily.
Daxton reached into his bag and pulled out a poke ball, chucking it at the now sleeping figure. The ball bounced off of it's back and drew it into the ball. Daxton held his breath, watching the ball rock back and forth, waiting for either a click or for a sleeping Hippopotas to pop back out onto the field.
