After Zernebog had properly bagged and labelled the sun stone and then placed it in his backpack in the designated area for small relics, he finally left the hallway. There was nothing more left for him to discover there, or at least he would like to think so. There was a good chance that subsequent explorations into this area would yield more interesting results, but he was going to leave that to the archaeologists who would come after him. Besides, this was an initial expedition and he couldn't afford to dawdle on one particular part for hours and hours on end, especially as he was alone here with his pokemon.
In fact, now that he thought about it he was probably breaking several rules of protocol concerning ruin searches by always going off alone without any back-up and with only a few people knowing where he was at this moment, but that was his usual modus operandi. There was no need to fix something that wasn't broken so he was going to continue this method until some unmitigatedly bad disaster forced his hand and made him take back-up on subsequent visits.
He hasn't had anything bad -well that bad- happen to him since his time at Sevii so he was fairly confident in his luck this time. There was nothing going to go wrong in this ruin. Well, at least he hoped so. NOTES Your notes here. This box expands as you type. CODED BY SYLVIE

”Whoa.”
When Zernebog opened the door to the room at the end of the hallway, he wasn't expecting it to be an enormous room that he could only adequately describe as majestic. There was no other word he could use in a place of such refinement and elegance that wouldn't look out of place in Kalos.
Zernebog's breath was taken away as his eyes looked and drank in the exquisite carvings of various birds and dragons ranging from Altaira all the way to Dragonairs, the seamless marble floor that looked like it was laid in one piece and looked to be the reflection of a starry night sky, or the many pokemon statues and columns with Machoke and Machamp carvings that show them holding up the ceiling. These same statues and columns that lined the entire room and lead towards the center, where there was an enormous statue of a Garchomp staring at the ceiling while pointing a claw upwards. A Garchomp with something purple set on its chest, but it was too far away for him to clearly distinguish and identify what it is.
By Arceus. He just wanted to take out one of his flying pokemon and explore this room for all it was worth, but he wasn't sure if he had the time. He had to decide soon before he had to move on though, or else he might get stuck here all day or something. NOTES Your notes here. This box expands as you type. CODED BY SYLVIE

Upon inspecting one of the statues, Zernebog realized something completely and utterly mind-blowing. The statue was made entirely out of moon stone! He had never seen anything like it at all. This has got to be the most excessive display of an evolution stone he had ever seen, and he'd seen them used as stones on a chandelier a couple of years ago before he'd gone to that region.
What was even more striking was that the statues in this room -aside from the gigantic Garchomp one- were all Nidokings and Nidoqueens. Considering that those two pokemon evolve through the use of moon stones, it made him wonder if there was a connection to the material and the subject matter of these statues. There had to be some point to them aside from the absurd extravagance that this displayed, especially considering how valuable the rocks were outside of decoration.
It was something that he would have to investigate and puzzle out once he had examined the entirety of these ruins. No stone must be left unturned in order for him to figure out the mysteries of these ruins and their relationship with the entirety of this new region as a whole. Quite a task for him, but one that he was all-too willing to undertake. NOTES Your notes here. This box expands as you type. CODED BY SYLVIE

After Zernebog had painstakingly sketched and took pictures of every single inch of the room and made three pages worth of notes about its contents, he finally deemed it safe to move on from the grand room.
However, the question now was -- which room was he supposed to pick?
When confronted with questions like these, he always solved them in one way when he had no other options left - follow his gut. He did just that and went inside the door on the base of the Garchomp statue because it had the most curious placing.
Apparently, he chose right because as soon as he entered he saw a statue of a Beedrill in construction inside, along with the strangest construction tools he had ever seen in his life. Even better, there was a strange new Mega Stone lying on a velvet case, lonely and collecting dust, making him wonder why it was just left there.
Now this was a gold mine. NOTES Your notes here. This box expands as you type. CODED BY SYLVIE
