A Clean Slate (Ruin Treasure Search/Complete)

After his luck had run out in the Kalosian Badlands, Thomas had heard about this Nue Region. Similar to the Kalos Region, he hadn't heard much of this place until recently. But then, when he heard that there was a ruin that potentially housed more of these Mega Stones that he had been searching for over the past few months, Thomas had his attention turned to this region. So rather than digging around this time, he instead opted to sort of scout out what he'd be dealing with in his new hunting ground, while hopefully finding something worth his while along the way.

The trainer, garbed in his usual attire from the desert, only with an updated bag full of tools more suited for the temple rather than a desert setting, headed inside. Rather than Algernon accompanying him, Thomas was being shadowed by his trusty Galvantula, Taze. The electric spider was currently behind the trainer, looking around for any sort of trouble as the two roamed the halls of the ruins.

The first room Thomas would wander into would be a surprise for the trainer. Rather than finding some useless treasure, or a Mega Stone, the trainer would instead find a familiar sight. It would be this that would make the trainer laugh out loud. It was a Keystone, an item he had never found in the Kalosian Badlands, one that he had to trade his first Mega Stone to obtain. And it was sitting in the middle of a room, on a stone pedestal. However, it was something he already owned. But then, it had to be valuable, and worth something good, right?

Thomas walked up to the pedestal without a hitch, no traps as he walked. However, upon lifting the Keystone off the pedestal it sat on, the flat surface rose up slightly. the sound of stone grinding and moving played, and as Thomas looked, the door became sealed, and both walls started to close in on the trainer soon after.

He had triggered the trap of the room: the pressure plate.

"Oh fuck!", shouted Thomas. Taze cried out in panic as well. Immediately, the trainer placed the Keystone back on the pedestal, which caused the surface to sink down slightly. Immediately, the walls stopped moving, only to retract slowly to where they were before he pulled it off. Following that, the slab sunk into the ground, opening the doorway for the trainer to leave.

But he wasn't leaving this room empty handed. The trainer looked around for something to place on the pedestal in an attempt to swap it out. The trainer found nothing in the room, so he checked the hallways for something he could use. The trainer quickly found a heavy-looking piece of debris he could use. So immediately, the trainer walked back into the room, and slid the debris onto the plate, and took the keystone.

Only to his horror, the debris caused the plate to sink down further than it would've with the keystone. Once again, the door shut on him, and the walls started to advance on him. Immediately, he swapped out the two items. Thankfully, the weight of the debris didn't break the plate, so placing the Keystone back onto it solved the problem.

He needed something of around equal weight to get past this wall. Immediately, the trainer disposed of the large piece of debris, and picked up the Keystone again, only for a brief moment though. This time, he ignored the advancing walls, and started to get a proper feel for the weight of this stone. Once he was done, he placed the item back, again getting them out of death's grip, and with access to the exit.

"I've got a plan, Taze...", Thomas told the insect. Thomas walked out of the hall again. This time, he started feeling each piece of debris as he picked it up, dropping them when they were either too heavy, or too light. After about ten minutes of sifting through debris, Thomas finally found a piece coming very close to the weight of that Keystone.

"Let's hope it works... thing was a pain in the ass to find...", Thomas commented. The trainer walked back into the room with the keystone, then carefully swapped the stone with the piece of debris. And Thomas watched as the debris sat just right on the plate, the door staying open and the walls remaining stationary long after the stone had been replaced by the debris.

"Alright, let's get the fuck outta here!", Thomas told the Galvantula with a grin, the two making a break for daylight. Without any further obstacles preventing the duo from leaving, they were now free to offer their treasure out for something else.
