elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.
RULES
Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Depositing the Safari Tag he bought into the machine, Josh took his Safari Ball and took a breath, walking into the Safari Zone. Zone 3, the Ocean area awaited him as he walked along the beach. He'd heard rumors of rare dragons living in the waters here. Being an avid fan of dragons, Josh decided it was time that he caught one himself. The question was now.... What awaited him? Would he even find one? Or would he find something even better? Who knows?
Walking alongside him was the newest member to his little party, his Tyrunt by the name of Yoshi. He had befriended the Tyrunt in his last trip to the Safari Zone just last week, and had caught him after battling the little firecracker with Lightning. Yoshi was a tough one, he knew that. Hopefully, he would be tough enough to tackle a rare Pokemon in the Safari Zone. Yoshi seemed happy to be home again, and prattled behind his Trainer eagerly, looking around at the sights. While eager to be home, he had never been in this section of the Safari Zone before.... His curiosity was on all cylinders! He was excited!

"Ty! Ty!" Yoshi let out as with his wittle arms that probably couldn't reach for an apple (The poor thing) he pointed to something poking it's head out of the water. "Hm?" Josh let out as he looked over. A Tirtouga was peeking out at them. "Huh, I don't think I've seen that Pokemon before" he admitted, smirking a bit. "Looks kind of like one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles" he snarked with a laugh. Of course, the mini dinosaur didn't get the reference but he seemed chill about it anyway. Because Yoshi's a chill dino, right?
As they kept walking, Josh wondered if they should stop for something to eat. Maybe in a bit, he thought.... The blonde pulled out binoculars and sat down on the sand, peeking through them to get a glimpse of what lie far out in the ocean. The Tyrunt kept peeking over his shoulder and trying to see what he was seeing in the handy dandy goggle things.

AS they continued walking, Josh peeked over at the distance behind them. The arctic section. "You don't think we'd find one THERE, do you?" he asked the Tyrunt, shivering at the thought. "I hope not, I hate the fucking cold" he said.
"Ty! Tyrunt!" Yoshi said as he tried to run off to chase something. Josh would manage to grab him. "What are you doing?" he asked, before noticing something walking through the arctic. A freaking penguin with buttons on it's chest as if it were wearing some kind of sweater. A Piplup, if Josh recalled. "What do you have against penguins?" he asked. "Tyrunt!" Yoshi let out angrily as he glared daggers at the penguin. Apparently, he fucking HATED penguins!
"Gah, Yoshi...." he said, sighing. "What am I gonna do with you...." he asked. The Tyrunt would break out, and make a break for it. The Piplup would see him coming a mile away and flee for it's life before Yoshi could even get halfway. Yoshi would stop when it went out of sight, making way for Josh to catch up. "See? You scared it off" he said, shrugging. "Tyrunt! Ty!" Yoshi let out in frustration.

Once the fiasco with the Tyrunt chasing down a Piplup with bloody intentions had cooled down, Josh and Yoshi would resume their walk on the beach to see what they could find. Sadly, time was beginning to run out. Josh let out an exasperated sigh. What in the world was he going to do? Nothing good had shown itself yet... He was getting rather antsy.
He noticed a Lapras sailing briskly along the waves nearby, and smiled a bit. He remembered hearing stories about Lapras ferrying people around the high seas loyally, without question. The Lapras seemed to enjoy the partnership as much as it's human company though, and it proved beneficial in both parties getting to see the world. Josh wondered if he would ever get to do something like that one day. Well, on an adventure like his... Who knows?
He closed his eyes and relaxed, taking in the sea air. As fruitless as the pursuit had been so far, he was still enjoying the time out alone on the beach, with only the wild Pokemon and his Tyrunt with him.

[Using one Repel]
"Hey, what's that?" Josh asked as he looked into the water, noticing some kind of flower-like thing pop out. Or, as the Professor would have said, something resembling barnacles. "Huh, that's a Lileep" he observed as he used his binoculars to get a closer look. Another fossil Pokemon, eh? He didn't see these too often. Actually, Yoshi was the first one he'd even caught, or seen to begin with in the flesh.
"I wonder if I could...." he trailed off before Yoshi seemed to realize something was poking out of Josh's pocket. Was it food? It had to be food! Yoshi would jump up and sink his jaws into it, causing the Repel in Josh's pocket to explode. Of course, being Josh's Pokemon, the Tyrunt was uneffected, but the Lileep would quickly flee into the water again.
"God damnit Yoshi" Josh said, shaking his head. "Eh, it's my fault for letting it dangle like that" he said, scratching his head.

As they walked, Josh caught sight of something napping with it's head sticking out in the water, just near the shore, with body probably buried in the sand on the beach while submerged in water... Josh used his binoculars to check it out.
"Hey, it's a Dratini!" Josh said, grinning wide. "This is perfect! Exactly what we're looking for!" he said. "Alright, Yoshi... Remain quiet... I'm gonna try and catch it while it's sleeping" he whispered as he took out the Safari Ball. "Alright, let's-"
Apparently Yoshi didn't hear him. Because instead of waiting for Josh to catch it, he would suddenly lunge and use Dragon Claw, sending the Dratini flying into the water, wide awake. "Yoshi!" Josh cried out, shaking his head. "You probably spooked it! And we're almost out of time!" he complained. "Tyrunt..." Yoshi whimpered, looking down. Josh sighed and patted his head. "It's alright... You'll learn. I get it, you're eager for battle. We'll get you a battle soon enough" he promised.
They wouldn't have to wait long.
Seems the Dratini wasn't a fan of having it's nap interrupted, and would angrily leap out of the water, despite the Super Effective hit from Dragon Claw, and form a Twister which would shoot toward Josh and Yoshi. Josh would grab Yoshi and dive out of the way just in time. "Shit... It's not happy!" he said. The Dratini would land on the beach, seeming to want a battle. Yoshi would leap out of Josh's arms, seeming to accept the silent challenge for battle. "Alright, I guess you get your battle today" Josh said. "Quick, use Dragon Claw again!" he said.
"Tyyyy-Runt!" Yoshi let out as his claws glowed purple, and he would lunge at the Dratini, who would duck and respond with a purple glowing Dragon Tail attack, sending him tumbling back. It would follow up with a wave of blue electricity toward Yoshi. "Yoshi, get out of the way!" Josh commanded. "Tyrunt!" Yoshi called as he leaped out of the way of the Thunder Wave just in time. "Crunch!" he commanded. Yoshi would respond by leaping and latching onto the Dratini's tail with his chompers. The Dratini would stop cold, dead cold. It would slowly look over at Yoshi as if just administering the pain. Suddenly, the Dratini would start running around wildly, trying to shake the Tyrunt off. "DRATINI DRATINI TINI TINI TINIIII!" it cried out in pain before a Dragon Tail attack would shake him off. Smoke would erupt from the Tyrunt's nose, before without Josh's orders, Yoshi would stomp his foot on the ground. Josh's eyes widened and he quickly leaped onto a rock to escape Earthquake, watching as the earth shook and rumbled, and the ground below them would temporarily split under Dratini, sending it flying. "TINI!" it let out in pain from the powerful move as a massive tidal wave, made by the Earthquake, would then come down on all three of them.
"WHOA!" Josh let out as he was overcome by the massive wave. Seeing his Tyrunt also engulfed in it, Josh would manage to return Yoshi to his Pokeball just as he was lifted off his feet and slammed into a rock by the force of the wave. Rubbing his head as air finally entered his lungs once the wave had ceased, Josh looked beside him to see the fainted Dratini. Quickly, he would poke it with the Safari Ball, watching it go in, hoping this was it.
"Gah... My fucking head..." he muttered as he watched the Pokeball wiggle and wobble.
