Day 2.
I've been here 2 days now. I found a cave in Mt. Chimney that I've been camping out in after one of my Pokemon happened to destroy the rock wall by accident during a training battle. Why am I doing this, you might ask? I realized that in order to become a strong Trainer, I needed to dedicate more time to one thing, and that was my Pokemon. I needed to dedicate more time to practicing the art of battle, and letting my Pokemon become stronger for it. The stronger they get from fighting alongside me, the stronger I'll get from fighting alongside them.
I gotta admit, I miss having a warm bed and a freshly cooked meal, but we'll only be here a few days before we head back to town. Hopefully this serious dedication to our training is what we need to grow stronger and be better prepared for the journeys ahead of us. Luckily, living in caves and camping in the wilds is nothing new to us. It's a discomfort, sure, but nothing we're not used to. By day, we roam the mountain looking for wild Pokemon to train against. The Pokemon here have been hostile since the get-go, and have a lot of steam to work out. After we battle them, they tend to calm down. By my observations, I've seen some of the bigger Pokemon bully the smaller ones, taking out their anger on them there. They're usually the ones we target, as they are naturally attracted to visitors and attack on sight. Practicing against them does us good, and it also does the ecosystem in the area good, in a way, by giving the bullied Pokemon time to breathe in an environment where normally they would be attacked mercilessly, at times even killed for the sake of it. I wonder at times though, what causes all these tempers to flare up, even without us here? Is it pride? Is it the conditions? What could be causing this?
Regardless, when night falls, we explore the inside of the mountain, through an opening we opened before. We've temporarily claimed a small area within the cave as our campsite, but the rest is crawling with Pokemon, both bullies and non-bullies alike, just like the outside. After training is over, we rest, we sleep, and we wake and continue. Of course, I have supplies to last my entire team for the week, and then some, so food is plentiful. If there's an issue, we can always go and return to town.
All I know is... I have to get stronger. I refuse to fail another human being or Pokemon ever again. I couldn't save my homeland back then. I was weak, defenseless. I hardly made a dent in the issue. I will never allow that to happen again.
Josh sighed as he finished the daily recording he'd decided to do of his thoughts of his self-training here in the mountains. It was hot, incredibly hot, but the blonde had managed. He had begun to adjust to the conditions, as had his Pokemon. But he knew they were all looking forward to a warm bath in the hot springs back in Lavaridge, a freshly cooked meal, and something comfortable to sleep in. He was too, but they had all committed to this... They were going to see it through.
The blonde would look at the Pokemon that were napping around him. He had woken up early to do some writing, and would walk out the cave "entrance" he had made on accident. His eyes took a moment to adjust to the sun's rays as he began to roam around, allowing himself to stretch his legs. He wondered if he would find any Pokemon this morning... Good or bad.

Meditite: High Jump Kick, Hidden Power, Detect, Confusion.
Over the course of this little training week, as short as it had been so far, Josh had begun tapping into his ability to focus and let himself sense his surroundings. It had already been in him since his first journey, having to use that to survive, but it had been more relaxed since Josh had first come to Hoenn. But now, he had begun to rely on those skills again... Instincts, senses. Nothing superficial or superhuman, but an experience honed instinct that was required in the old life he once lived. And now, something caused him to perk up during his morning walk. Something was wrong, he could feel it... A disturbance in the force? Probably not, but Josh had an odd feeling that made him sick to his stomach.
Then he looked up at the mountains above him. And there it was. 7 Meditite. The underlings, he supposed. The students. Then the masters, 3 Medicham. And they looked angry. Josh had seen some of these Pokemon yesterday, generally picking on the other Pokemon, to which Josh had fixed by sending out a Pokemon to stop the bullying. It seemed they had been tracked down now... And they'd brought the whole clan to make sure that their plans wouldn't be meddled with anymore.
"Shit..." he muttered. This wasn't good. And his Pokemon weren't awake to stop them as two of the Meditite would jump down and start advancing on their prey.
Wrong.
Someone had heard the commotion, his Wartortle and Croconaw, Bastilo and Vector. They would rush out and see the group of Pokemon about to assault their Trainer and instantly ran to his defense. Josh nodded over at them and smirked. "Bastilo, use Water Pulse! Vector, use Crunch!" Josh would instantly call. "Wartortle!" Bastilo called as the orb of water would form, which would instantly go for the Meditite. "Croc!" Vector added, charging toward the other one. Both attacks would be blocked by some kind of energy shield though, as the two Meditite had used Detect. "Gah..." Josh muttered. Great, they knew Detect. This was going to be tough.

Bastilo Move Set: Skull Bash I Rapid Spin I Aqua Tail I Water Pulse Vector Move Set: Rage | Crunch | Flail | Scary Face Lightning Move Set: Thunderbolt | Thunder Wave | Quick Attack | Nasty Plot I Thunder I Agility I Brick Break I Magnet Rise I Double Team I Grass Knot
Josh knew what he was getting into, training up here... But he hadn't expected these Pokemon to be so damned tough! But yet, it was for the best. The stronger the foe, the better they got... It was good practice for them, indeed. But now it was the Meditite's turns to attack. And that they did, the first one would strike at Bastilo with Hidden Power, with orbs floating around them... The second would repeat the motion, orbs flying around them set to attack Vector. Before long, both sets of orbs would fire toward the Trainer and the two water types.
"Wait for it... Wait for it..." Josh instructed to both his Croconaw and his Wartortle. When they were within inches of the orbs, Josh would raise a hand and call out. "JUMP!" he commanded, and the two agile water types would oblige, leaping into the air, and dodging the orbs which would explode as they hit the mountain behind them. "Water Pulse! Scary Face!" Josh would call. "Wartortle!" Bastilo let out as he would start charging up the Water Pulse, and the Meditite would charge up another Hidden Power in response...
"Now, Vector!" Josh called. "Croc!" Vector responded as the giant purple face, known as Scary Face would appear, shocking the Meditite and slowing them down. It opened up for Bastilo to charge up a little longer, and then be ready to fire a powered up Water Pulse quicker then they could charge Hidden Power. "War.... TORTLE!" he let out as he loosed the large orb of water toward the two Meditite. It would explode, drenching them both in water, and cancelling their Hidden Power attacks mid-charge, plus dealing damage.
"Now Vector, Crunch!" Josh called. "Croc!" he let out in response as he would charge, taking advantage of the stunned state of one of the Meditite to clamp his jaws into it's head. "Skull Bash, Bastilo!" Josh called. "War..." Bastilo trailed off as he lowered his head... Preparing for it... "TORTLE!" he loosed as he launched himself headfirst toward the other one. While the Meditite was distracted trying to think up a plan to tear the Croconaw off his allie's head, he would look too late before being slammed into by the Skull Bash by Bastilo, sending the Meditite into the mountain rocks, fainting as it hit the ground.
"Flail, Vector!" Josh called. Vector would stop biting, only to start kicking and punching and wailing on the stunned Meditite. "Duck!" he called to Vector, who would duck down onto his knees. "Rapid Spin, Bastilo!" Josh called. "Wartortle!" Bastilo let out as he would retreat into his shell, slamming right into the remaining Meditite and slamming it next to it's fallen buddy, and it fainting there too.
"Alright, great job you two!" Josh congratulated with a smirk. But it wouldn't last long.
5 Meditite Remain. Two Medicham Remain.
This time, the Medicham would instruct their Meditite students to jump down, three of them stepped up this time. Josh took a breath... They were outnumbered this time.
"Pika!" something would call out from the cave they had made camp in. It seems Lightning had heard the commotion, and the Pikachu, bandana and all, would run out, standing beside Vector and Bastilo to defend his Trainer against these guys. Josh smirked a bit at the entrance of his partner. This was going to be fun indeed... Now that the tides had turned, Josh thought maybe it was time to practice some of Lightning's new moves...
The Meditite would each charge, all using the High Jump Kick attack each, going for each individual member of the team in what had basically become a Triple Battle. "They want fire then? Well boys, let's give them fire!" Josh said, pumping his fist. He was pumped up now! "Vector, use Rage! Bastilo, use Aqua Tail! Lightning, use Brick Break!" Josh would call to each Pokemon in unison. "Croc!" Bastilo let out as he leaped toward his own foe, his eyes glowing dark red as usual with Rage as his claws started to turn the same color.... "Tortle!" Bastilo let out as his tail would glow a bright cyan, leaping into the air to take on his foe head on. "Pika!" Lightning chirped in affirmative as he leaped into the air, spinning as his paws glowed white, bringing one down on his own foe with a big chop...
Crash. Bash. Bang. Each attack collided with devastating force. The result? An explosion? Clouds of dust filled the area, and when it cleared, one set of Pokemon stood on one side, the Meditite standing on the other. Josh didn't hesitate.
"Lightning, use Double Team!" Josh quickly called. "Pika!" Lightning chirped in affirmative, before he glowed for a moment. In an instant, one Pikachu became 2 Pikachu. Then 3 Pikachu. Then 4 Pikachu. Then 10 Pikachu. Then 20 Pikachu. The rapidly increasing amounts of bandana clad Pikachu would surround the area, making all of them unsure which one was the real one. While the Meditite were confused though...
"Lightning, Nasty Plot!" he called. "Vector, Rage! Bastilo, Rapid Spin!" he would add. The Pikachu and company would all get gleams in their eyes, still masking who the real Lightning was. Taking advantage of the distraction, Vector and Bastilo would charge, colliding with the Meditite using red claws and spinning shells head on without any resistance. The two Meditite would fly back, with one managing to barely get out of the way. "Lightning, use Thunderbolt!" Josh called, pointing to the last one.
All the Pikachu would suddenly charge up their sparks. "Pika.... CHUUUUUUUUUUU!" the Lightnings let out as many... MANY Thunderbolts would charge toward the remaining one, though only one would actually hit due to the rest being an illusion, causing the Meditite to let out a bloodcurdling scream from the direct hit before crashing to the ground, fainted. The Double Team would stop though, when the yoga practicioners would summon orbs from Hidden Power while Josh wasn't looking and shoot them around, destroying the Lightning clones, and hitting the real one. "Pika!" Lightning let out in pain as he collided with a rock. "Lightning!" Josh let out, gritting his teeth. "Don't let them get away with it, Vector, Bastilo! Rage! Aqua Tail!" he called.
They didn't hesitate. Both the Croconaw and Wartortle would use their claws and tails to slam into them again, smashing them THROUGH the rocks this time. There was no mercy for the bullies as they destroyed the rocks with their weight and the velocity of the water type's powers. Both of them would faint after that attack.
2 Meditite Remain. 3 Medicham Remain.
"Great job, you guys" he said as he looked up... The rest didn't look happy. Josh had a feeling it could only get more challenging from here.

Before the next bit could attack though, one of the Medicham would suddenly step forward... By the scars on it's body, it was obvious that it was the leader. It would point to Vector, Josh's Croconaw... It was obvious what it wanted. A one on one battle. Josh took a breath and looked over at his Pokemon. "Vector, you up for this?" he asked. "Croc!" Vector let out as he turned to face the leader, who would jump down. "Be careful, Vector" Josh warned. "I'll bet this one is more dangerous then the others. Don't let it fool you, and don't underestimate it" he advised. "Croc!" Vector responded as he would quickly charge toward the Medicham, who would, surprisingly, charge headfirst toward him.
The Medicham would go to launch and attack, but Josh was quicker. "Vector, Crunch!" he suddenly said as the two Pokemon came close. Vector would change gears and latch onto the Medicham's head with his jaws. "CHAM! CHAM! CHAM!" he let out in pain and agony as it ran around, trying to pry the sharp-toothed Croconaw off it's head. This display riled up it's comrades, and one of the Meditite would leap off and go for a High Jump Kick toward the Croconaw, breaking the rules of the fight.
"Vector, let go and bounce up!" Josh called. Vector would comply and release his jaw-grip on the Medicham's head, before bouncing his feet off it's head and flying into the air, causing the Meditite to slam right into it's own leader, sending it back.
"Bastilo, Skull Bash!" Josh called. "Wartortle!" Bastilo let out as he would lower his head before flying toward his foe and nailing the Meditite with his skull, sending it flying back from the full force, full velocity shot. It would crash into the wall, and it's partner, the other Meditite would jump down, trying to hit Bastilo with Confusion. As the aura went around the confused Wartortle, Josh would act fast.
"Lightning, Nasty Plot, then Thunderbolt!" he quickly called. A twinkle would appear in Lightning's eye before his cheeks sparked. "Pika.... CHUUUUUUUU!" he let out as he loosed a much more powerful Thunderbolt that would hit the immobile and occupied Meditite head on, causing it to faint. While the commotion was going on, the two Medicham remaining would drag their leader out of sight to rest, and escape the fighting.
Josh looked around, noticing they had escaped. "They'll be back" he said. "Good job, you lot" he added as he led his group back to the cave.
