He chuckled a bit. "I'm just glad to see he's okay now" he said. "No Pokemon deserves what this poor thing probably went through" he said, frowning a bit. He could just imagine the horror of seeing your Trainer turn into a... Slave to those things, then just sacrifice you to be massacred and killed and turned into more of them. It was a scary thing to think about.
Josh hadn't wanted to scold her, but it was true. She could have saved him a shitload of grief with a phone call. He sighed and hugged her tight as she wrapped her arms around his neck again.
He nodded as she handed him her phone, before putting it in. He thought he had given her his phone number before but.. No matter. It was fine now. He smirked over at her as he handed her the phone back.
"Alright, young lady" he said as he took his phone. "You think you can make the trip to Littleroot? It's close to there"
She agreed with the male's comment, her gaze fixing down on her Wynaut for the time being. No Pokemon should be treated that way, even in a crazy madness spread that occurred back in their region.. "It's something I'd rather not think about, he's safe now and in my care. I've been doing the best for him for a year and continue to do so." Maxine answered to Josh, nodding to him when she looked back up to him. "Wynaut! Wynaut!!" Her Pokemon called out, repeating his salute to the two beside him.
Actually, she did still have his number and remembered it, her mistake caught up to her and felt her face flush slightly and itched her cheek until the two exchanged phones, that was her fault and noted to apologize about it later on when they were there. Well now that her feel somewhat sheepish, Sea Biscuit didn't seem to cut the small tension either. "Wynaut!!" He called out between the two of them, having her crack a smile soon afterwords.
"Oh, yeah! Of course! Let's start heading out then. I can make the trip there, I'm used to walking if you want to do that, or did you have another way there?" Her original location spot was Littleroot to begin with so this didn't impede at all, in fact it helped! "Lead the way, Josh. I'm excited to see the rest of your Pokemon on the Ranch." Maxine said, her eyes shining with eagerness to go on ahead. "How many other Pokemon did you catch?"
Post by Josh Dragomir on Sept 1, 2014 21:18:25 GMT -5
"I have about... 40? At least?" Josh answered with a shrug. The Wynaut seemed happy at least, that was what mattered. Maxine had obviously done a great job in raising and training it, and had helped it overcome so much. He couldn't help but smile a bit at the thought. Maxine had taken his teachings and flourished with them. He couldn't help but be proud at the Trainer that Maxine had obviously become.
Josh knew it too, that he remembered giving her his number. Hell, she had JUST SAID she could call him bit didn't because she was nervous. What was up with that? But he didn't say anything... Not yet anyway. He might tease her later.
He smirked a bit. "Nah, I walk" he said with a small smile. "I don't have any other way there just yet" he admitted, sighing. "I mean, I have a water Pokemon with me for going by sea, but no real sea route takes us to Littleroot" he said. "I mean, we COULD take a sea route to Petalburg..." he began, scratching his head. "Would you wanna test it out? I haven't tried it yet. We can take a sea route from the beach to Petalburg, and walk to Littleroot from there, then to the ranch"
He caught and owned that many?! He's certainly grown and improved from a year ago, she was impressed and chuckled up to him for his success. Of course Maxine had a while to get up in the rankings with him, but now that the two agreed to traveling again like before she could get there sooner with his help and guidance like before. "That's impressive, I'm glad I have someone with so much knowledge and experience with Pokemon helping me become a better Trainer." She praised up to Josh, smiling up afterwards.
Oh boy he walked through this region, she didn't mind, but he didn't have another way? "Sea Route?" She questioned, noticing his habit he was performing now, was it something he's done? "Well, why not? I wouldn't mind testing it out at all, it could possibly help out my team too, I caught a Horsea before and bet he could learn this route when he evolves later on." It wasn't a bad suggestion at all, in fact it was something that can result in getting to his ranch quicker. Plus it's been a while since the two were on a Sea Route
"Alright, go ahead and lead the way once more!" She exclaimed, "I'm excited to start heading out."
Post by Josh Dragomir on Sept 2, 2014 23:27:48 GMT -5
He smiled a bit at her praise. "Oh geez. I've only been doing this a few years" he said with a laugh. "You're not bad yourself. Just need to learn. But you will, it won't take you long" he promised, ruffling her hair playfully. He remembered that Josh and Maxine had somewhat of a mentor and student relationship back on Kohaku, but she seemed to have grown up quite well since then. And she had caught herself some fine Pokemon as well.
"Aye. The Sea Route" he said. "I know where it is, but I haven't taken it yet. So if you're willing to risk it and experiment, let's do it!" he said with a chuckle as he led her to the beach. "Let's see.. The sea path should start... Right... Here" he trailed off as he found a spot near the water that seemed to be to the exact directions as he looked through his map. "Alright, this should lead us to Petalburg City, if we do this right" he said as he took out a Pokeball and chucked it. "Go, Chuck!" he said as he caught the Pokeball, the Pokemon landing in the water as the light faded to reveal a Gyarados, that sparkled for a moment. But it's defining feature was it's strange red color. It let out a roar as Josh climbed aboard it's back, motioning Maxine to climb on.
"Hey, it's a few years more than me, so right now you have that standing. It's no wonder I have such an amazing trainer teaching me about Pokemon again." She responded to him, giggling as he began to ruffle her thick hair, it was true that Maxine looked up to the blonde for everything and anything about Pokemon when the two traveled together in the past. Since her dream was to be a Professor she had to be in tip top shape about Pokemon knowledge!
Josh mentioned about this being a test run and began to head over to the beach shore, she followed until they both stopped against the water where he had taken his map out to confirm his directions, she leaned over to peek at the map, but was too late. She watched when he threw out one of his Pokeballs and felt her eyes squint and lean her head forward to determine what Pokemon he called out, the light cleared away to reveal a Gyarados and picked her head up after his roar echoed in her ears.
But this Pokemon was a different color.. Just like his Combuskin, she recalled what he informed her about different colored Pokemon were Shiny Pokemon and were rare to find in the wild. Maxine seemed to be in awe at him for a moment before gazing over to his motion and climbed onto its back, her eyes viewing around the area they were in once more before he decided to leave. "How long should it take to reach Petalburg City?" She asked him when her hands rested on the Pokemon's back.

He laughed a bit at her compliments. "Sweetheart, seriously, I'm not THAT great" he said with a chuckle. "Seriously, you flatter me. I'm still learning, just as you are still learning. And we'll continue learning for the rest of our lives. Besides, you want to be a great Pokemon Professor one day, along with a great Pokemon Trainer. You'll be learning and passing on knowledge for a long time" he said with a small smile.
Once they climbed on, he smirked over at her. "Not long" he responded to her question. "With this Gyarados, we'll be fine" he said with a laugh. "He's a fast sort. I know because he tried to eat me and Lightning" he said, chuckling as he patted Chuck on the head. "But it's all good now. We're buddies now. And Lightning keeps him in check if he acts out" he said with a devious smirk. "Alright, here we go. Arriba, andulay, Chuck! Andulay Andulay! Arrrrriba! To Petalburg we goooo!" he called as they set sail.
As they sailed across the high seas, Josh smiled over at her. "Remember when we used to travel by sea together all the time?" he asked. "It's a shame that THAT trip got cut off, since that friend of ours was a bitch-a-saurus, but... Well, here we are now, doing it all again, ourselves. And we're better Trainers then we ever were before. Alright Chuck.... Speed up!" he said as he winked at Maxine. "Hold onto your butts" he said to her, Lightning and Ritchie. He would hang on and steer as Chuck would speed up, gliding across the sea at high speeds like a motorboat.
Eventually, they would pass Dewford, and then find themselves, not too long after that, at the pier near Petalburg. "Alright, Maxie Max. We're here" he said, with affectionate nicknames as usual as he hopped off Chuck onto the pier. He would help Maxine off by the hand before looking over at Chuck. "Alright, Chuck, return, you deserve the rest" he said as he returned the Gyarados to his Pokeball. He looked over at nearby Petalburg. "You set to walk the rest of the way to Littleroot?" he asked her.
Sweetheart? This caused her cheeks to burn and turn her head to the side until he started to mention his story about his Gyarados, covering her mouth slightly at the almost ate part, ..maybe it was better she didn't ask and just let out a small breath. Of course to his start up she chuckled at his enthusiasm and sailed off, joining in softly, "To Petalburg!" Her hands adjusted once more to hold the Pokemon's back and slide her legs up to her upper half, something she's done before when the two traveled over seas. Ritchie hadn't been overseas outside of his Pokeball so he ventured down towards the end of Gyarados, leaning down and tilting his head at the water.
Her sights were filled with a clear sea below them and looked down to watch some of the current before picking her head up to listen to the blonde, "Of course, it was something I joyed quite a bit and loved when we got to go!" Soon her excitement falling slowly when he mentioned their other friend, sliding her chin into her arms and nodding slowly, "Aye.." Maxine let out, wanting to not bring up anything about that subject, not right now. Her eyes gazed over to him to catch his wink and slide her legs down, soon hesitantly holding onto his jacket when his Gyarados sped up. Josh used to go pretty fast with his water Pokemon on Routes so she knew to have a good hold of something to stay up. "Ah, but I can't do that now." She responded to his tease, "Will yours do for now?"
He wasn't joking about getting there soon either, the pier was ahead and Ritchie walked up the Gyarados' back to climb on his Trainer's shoulder once more and he called out his name, "Pika!" His hair ruffle tickled Maxine's nose and caused her to sniffle quick, shaking her head. "Maxie Max?" She questioned, oh boy, more nicknames. Letting go of his jacket she watched him climb off and held onto the blonde's hand when he pulled her up, keeping a steady grip of his hand. "Mhmm, I'm ready to go, let's get going." Maxine answered and nodded to him, smiling up to him.

He laughed heartily at Maxine's response. He didn't answer, but he was amused at her new sense of humor. She seemed less shy then she used to be, although of course she knew him. But even with him she used to be shy so he couldn't really assume that. He supposed he would ask her later, when he had the time.
Finally the dynamic duo would arrive at their sub-destination. He smirked as they would walk into Petalburg City. "Ah... Petalburg. It's been quite some time" he had to admit. "Considered challenging Norman, but... I need a stronger team and more experience against actual Trainers. I'm too used to taking on wild pokemon and the scourge. Only real battles I had mostly there were against those insane disgraces to the name Trainer... And you. So I'm still kind of inexperienced" he admitted. "But eventually I'll start challenging gyms... Just not now. Maybe when Red comes back" he said in reference to the Kanto Champion, a good friend of his.
Hours later they would pass Littleroot, and arrive at their destination. Josh smiled as he looked around the open fields. It was good to be here again, where his mom had basically LIVED since starting over here when moving to Hoenn and a brand new ranch had been built. It was even bigger then the old one! Open fields as far as the eye could see; along with lakes, rivers, rocky surfaces, even a mountain far off! The territory that was signaled as their land was fenced off, to show where the boundaries were. In the middle of all this was a large research lab where his folks resided in, and usually tended to sleep in these days. His mom anyway. His dad went off somewhere about a month ago and nobody knew where he was. But Josh would talk to Maxine about that later...
Josh chuckled as he hopped the fence and looked around. Pokemon roamed everywhere. Pokemon his dad caught. Pokemon his mom caught. Pokemon they were taking care of, pokemon they were breeding, even wild Pokemon that just wanted to live there. And best of all, even the Pokemon that Josh had caught were here! Yep, he could only hold six at a time, so the Pokemon not in the current lineup were well taken care of here until he needed them again. And they were quite happy here.
"Well Maxine, here we are. Dragomir Ranch" Josh said with a small smile. He would first walk to a lake and click one of his Pokeballs, letting out Chuck. The Gyarados seemed much happier in the lake, and Josh would toss the rest of his Pokeballs up too. But before Josh could introduce them, they would scatter to see their friends again. Even Lightning. Josh chuckled and shrugged. "No big, you can see everyone in a bit" he promised. "Care to meet mom? Or do you wanna see the place first?"
"Norman?" She questioned the blonde once they landed on their destination, she wasn't aware about Gym Leaders until Josh told her when they were traveling that there were Gym Leaders in different regions and can be challenged for a Badge. It wasn't something she would take on so suddenly like him, maybe once she gains more experience.. "Hm.. Have Red give you some tips and have a battle with you." Maxine advised, unaware of Red's Champion title, guess he forgot to tell her?
It wasn't a long walk for the two of them to reach his Ranch, chuckling when she followed his hopping fence action, making sure to watch her step after landing. The Ranch was filled with many different Pokemon, some that she's seen and researched, some that were completely new to her. Maxine stepped up closer to stay close to her friend in case there were some Pokemon that weren't to friendly, of course with them living in a Ranch they would adapt to the setting and grow more comfortable to the other Pokemon.
The Dragomir Ranch... it rolled off the tip of your tongue after saying it, once Josh let his water Pokemon out her head lifted up to observe his Gyarados that was now relaxing in the lake in front of the two of them. "It's really nice here.. perfect space and environment for them to live." She mused on as she stepped off a little to view herself, his other Ranch was a sight to see, but this one took the title quickly.. Her attention got focused back on after he started talking to Lightning when she walked a couple steps back to his side.
"Ah.. I'd like to meet your mom, please." Maxine answered to his request, her arm sliding behind her back soon afterwards. She hasn't met his mother before when they traveled due to Maxine's mother pulling her out of her journey early, and his family fled soon after hers. "It would be nice to meet her after traveling and not being able to introduce myself."

He nodded a bit. "I suppose" he said as he led her to the lab. Opening the door, he looked around. "Mom?" he called out. "Are you around?"
He tilted his head at no answer. "Huh... Maybe she's back at home? Or out in the field somewhere? It's a big place... I imagine she could be anywhere" he mused aloud, scratching his beard.
"Josh, is that you?" someone called from downstairs. "Aye, it's me, mom!" he called back. "I brought along some company, if that's okay!" he added. "Company? I'll be right up!" she chirped from downstairs. A woman with long red hair would come up, dressed in a lab coat. "Ah, a lady! Why didn't you inform me you were bringing a lady friend over?" she asked. "Hi, I'm Serena, Josh's mother. It's good to meet you!" she chirped.
"Maxine, this is my mom" he said with a laugh. "Mom, this is Maxine, she wanted to meet you since she couldn't back in Kohaku"
At that instant, the chipper woman's face turned completely pale. ".... M.... M... Maxine? You... You mean the one that died? From the scourge?" she asked, looking incredibly panicked. "No no no, she wasn't there when the horde came about!" he promised. "She got through just fine, moved to Unova she said. We had a communication issue so I didn't know she was still around until not too long ago" he explained.
Hearing a woman's voice echo from upstairs caused Maxine to begin going silent, resulting in her starting to rub her arm with anxiousness. She never met his mother face to face before and did talk about her quite a bit when the two traveled. Making a good impression would help her remain calm and hopefully impress the blonde. Sliding her arm back to her side she stepped to his side and looked up to the woman with a small sparkle in her eyes seeing the lab coat on her.
Before she could speak up, when she mentioned lady friend Maxine felt her face begin to burn with blush on her cheeks. Luckily Josh introduced them to each other, but got cut short when she discovered his mother knew about her 'death'. Her hand suddenly brushed against the blonde's gloved palm with a hint of anxiety forming on her face.
Josh quickly calmed the situation and explained to his mother what the story was, clearing the misleading information. "I-I apologize, ma'm, the wires were attacked on and my mother had to decide that moving to the Unova region was the best for my family.." She spoke up to the red head, soon enough her face marching his mother's hair. "Ah.. But it's really nice to meet you, Josh always said wonderful thins about you when we traveled before.." Soon after that Maxine felt herself become quieter as she spoke on and eventually stopped, nice first impression genius

The woman smiled softly. "Oh no, no worries. I understand" she promised. "I'm just happy to see you're alright. I know Josh was heartbroken when he returned home. He wanted to go look for you, but we had to tell him that there was no time, the scourge had already broken through our town's defenses and were very close to invading our hometown itself. We just barely escaped, we left as soon as Josh arrived, since we'd already packed and were set to go" she explained.
"Regardless..." she began. "I was going to make dinner soon, would you like to join us, Maxine?" she asked, smiling. "And of course, again, it's nice to meet you. I'm Serena, Josh's mother. I hope I didn't scare you by my reaction to you coming here all of a sudden" she apologized profusely, bowing her head. Josh smiled a bit and patted Maxine on the back. "Hey, after we're done eating, why don't we have a battle?" he asked. "Just like old times?"
She wasn't going to lie, her reaction had her pretty startled. Maxine did her bed to keep her anxiousness hidden and keep a small smile on her face. "I-It was wonderful to meet your son. I apologize that he was panicking about me.." He was that worried? Oh no, her face started to turn a darker shade of pink across her cheeks.
"Hm? I would love to join you for dinner, thank you." She spoke up, returning the head bow to the redhead. Having Josh pat her on the back made her head to the side, tilting her head at him. "Aye, I would be honored to battle with you again, Josh." She smiled softly to the blonde and nodding her head. Having a battle with Josh again.. Now that was something to look forward to! Maxine chuckled against his pat on the back afterwards as well, "I'll show you what I've learned from you and learned from myself."
