Description: It's not uncommon to see Luella Bella spacing out, but she swears she was paying attention to you the entire time, and she can prove it. Luella typically has this dreamy look in her eyes, acting as if she's partially there with you while simultaneously frolicking around in la la land. Her eyes are a welcoming, bright blue that try to pull you in with their sincerity. Incredibly thin blonde hair tussles itself everywhere, going down to the middle of her back. If you're not noticing how long her hair is when she turns herself around, you're probably not an ass man. Hair maintenance is an absolute pain, and it's often frizzy and fuzzed up, loosely tossled around as if she simply gave up on trying to comb through it all. It's not easy brushing and washing the blonde waterfall she has going on back there, but she prefers to keep it long like her mother, and hair cuts are pretty expensive anyways. Who needs them.
Her pale, freckled easily burns in the sun, and tanning is almost impossible, making the horde of freckles that dot around her shoulders, nose, and back even easier to spot. She hardly finds them cute, especially with some of the larger ones, but she begrudgingly accepts compliments about them, figuring that everyone has different tastes. Standing around 5"4, Luella isn't as tall as her peers, and depending on how stressed she gets, her weight is known to fluctuate, often gaining over 30 pounds each time she goes through a bad spell, only to have it bounce back as if it never happened. Generally she's a little chunky, sometimes being called big-boned less the word 'fat' offends her, but it doesn't, even going so far as to say that the extra fat just goes into her boobs, so what's the problem?
Luella likes to wear anything that's raggedy and comfortable, not having much of an interest in fashion, unlike her trendy son. Jackets that are too large for her are the newest thing, successfully pulling off the homeless hippie look until it gets too hot for her tastes. Then she just busts out the tank tops and shorts, and whenever it doesn't cause a scene, she feels free enough to go topless, just like the boys. Almost all of her jeans are ripped and have holes in them, mostly because she can't easily afford anything better, but she also likes ripping her jeans to add a little character to them. She can't stand wearing light pastels, instead preferring to wear as many vibrant colors as she can, aiming for bright blues, lime greens, and electric oranges.
While her clothes might not be the most fashionable thing out there, she adores jewelry with a passion. One of these days, she aspires to decorate every part of her body in diamonds. Until then though, she's satisfied being coated in the bright sparkles of cheap crystals, having about 3 mini earrings in each ear, brightening up her mood just because it makes her feel pretty. You wouldn't know it until she takes off her top, but along the left side of her back, she has a tattoo of a Lunatone draped in beads and jewelry. It was something she got after her divorce in an attempt to show her ability to change and adapt, and she finds a lot of meaning in that silly tattoo she got on a whim.
PERSONALITY
Sun (♊)|| Moon (♋)
"The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign is beneficial to both, but often produces a somewhat high-strung emotional nature. Life is full of stimuli and fascinations, and the mind is always searching for experiences, romances, and revolutionary ideas to explore. You possess unusual emotional depth for a Gemini, and what your quick intellect doesn't pick up on, your emotions do.
Description: A lethargic pleasure-seeker with a morbid sense of humor, Luella has an uneasy mix of friends, frenemies, and downright enemies due to her condescending attitude. Luella opens up easily and has always been about expressing herself with loud body language and physical contact, but she easily tires herself out when others get too affectionate, regardless of her relationship with them. Easily connecting with others through social events, such as live bands, festivals, karaoke night at the bar, and so on, she's more than happy to include as many people as possible in her life, assuming they know their boundaries. Get a little too personal with her, and she'll bluntly tell you off. She comes off as childish and irresponsible, and you're probably wondering why she's playing a children's card game with a bunch of teenagers instead of having a respectable job. It's 2014 and she's still living the hippie lifestyle her parents raised her with, generally accepting the message of peace and love until a personal vendetta strikes up. Don't worry--she'll find a way to get back at you. Just hide your phone, hide your pictures, and hide your social media, because those are her easiest targets.
Extrovert: There's no reason to stay locked up in an apartment when she finds so much joy in being around others. New opinions, new personalities, new hobbies, and new ways of life. She might be wrapped in her neck in nature, but she gets an insatiable itch if she's stuck in solitude. Luella fears the day that they'll stick her in a suit and a cubicle, typing her life away. She tends to have a lot of contacts, and enjoys hosting or joining meetups with friends and acquaintances. Thanks to her son's interest in technology, she's been introduced to a variety of social media, even if she is behind in the times. She's easy-going, far from being shy, and willing to talk up anyone that'll listen to her life story.
Hedonist: Again, why spend your life working all day for the sake of looking respectable in society when the best things in life were free? She picked up this mindset from her parents, who embraced everything about the hippie era, and passed it on to her. Having enough to eat and survive is all she needs to let herself relax and enjoy what life gives her. Taking this to an unhealthy extreme, she prefers to shirk her responsibilities when her spare time and energy don't allow for it. This extends to the point of giving away full custody of her only son, figuring that the stress of being a parent simply wasn't for her. She's awfully proud of her ability to stay happy and care-free while getting by on minimum wage, and she'll ignore anyone that tells her to think otherwise.
Passive-Aggressive Jerkface: She gets a sense of pride when she puts others in their place. She wants to be right, and she wants to be the one people listen to and follow. When she puts others down, she feels a position of power and control, and it's even sweeter for those she has her eyes on. Luella's not exactly nice, and even if you're a trusted confidential, there's no guarantee she won't get to you. In the past, Luella has put her parents in uncomfortable and embarrassing situations, typically to get back at them for doing something she didn't like. She likes to humiliate for the sake of teaching someone a lesson, but has the sense to avoid crossing strange lines. It gets tricky because she genuinely enjoys being around people, but her life is a mess, and no one likes to stay in her life for long anyways. Other than that, if you call her out, she'll back off. If you push her afterwards, then she'll get snippy and say you deserved it. If someone's willing to stick with her as a lifelong confidant, despite her crap, this is likely to change for the better. However, old habits die hard, so have fun with that.
Rebellious: This was a trait that was even worse during her childhood and teenage years, but even now, she can't stand the thought of doing something against her will. She lives with a grudge against social norms, challenging the expected while making a statement about it. In some ways, she's quite political and free-thinking. She naturally suspects those in a position of power and wants nothing to do with them. She easily trusts people if she likes them enough, but if you rub her the wrong way and get too involved in how she does things, she will call you out and have you back off. Another thing is that the law basically means nothing to her. Not that she's about to go out and murder people, but she's been living for this long without respecting society's set rules, and she's not about to any time soon.
Candid: Without a doubt, she is out-spoken, blunt, and will say what she wants to say before she loses the chance to say it. On the bright side, you'll always know where she stands about things. But your feelings won't be spared, because she doesn't believe in sugarcoating things.
Unreliable: You wanted her to do what and when now? Sorry, it just happened to slip her mind. Her memory is good on its own, but because she's often overstimulated by the things she gets herself into, it's only natural to forget the things that aren't as important. Again, she hates work. She'd rather do what she wants when the situation works itself out, and boo-hoo for you if you expect otherwise. You really have to catch her interest if you want her to stay on top of things, because even her own family doesn't get that from her. Luella knows that she's like this, and as much as she dislikes herself for it, she keeps on making excuses for herself.
Spontaneous: Adding to the above, it doesn't help that most of her decisions are made on a whim. If it feels right, she goes with her gut and just does it, even taking a few helpless bystanders along for the ride. While one of her biggest life regrets happened because of her 'caught in the moment' nature, Luella finds the most enjoyment in life when she jumps in for the ride, enjoying the thrill of each pleasant surprise along the way.
High Self-Esteem: She's only sad and self-conscious when she drinks, and she's big on social drinking. Other than that, she's pretty happy on cloud nine. She makes a note to eat well, sleep in whenever she wants, and talk to as many people she wants. She might not always feel justified for feeling good about herself, but she still makes an effort to stay positive and optimistic about how she handles her life. Luella has a reason to love herself, especially because she can't rely on anyone else to do it for her. She's convinced that she has it made in the world, and that a ton of golden opportunities are just waiting to fall into her hands. A tad unreasonable, but she's good at finding the silver lining in a situation.
Insists on Own View: Is she close-minded? Not necessarily. She's prone to agreeing with people as long as it doesn't contradict everything she knows. But she still feels justified in how she thinks, and how she came to that conclusion. She'll be quick to divide facts from opinions if someone tries to prove her wrong.
Horrible at Reconciling: This relates to the previous point, and her stubborn, rebellious streak kicks in here too. Apologies are incredibly difficult for her to make--especially sincere apologies. She doesn't like to associate guilt with her actions, and gets pissy when you make her feel as if she did something wrong. Her pride is important to her, even if her lifestyle doesn't make that obvious to outsiders.
Touchy: She's defensive. Easily looks into things more than she should, because people are complicated and rarely say what they want to say. One badly ruined comment could ruin a night out, but once she's done sulking about it, she'll come back and try to make the rest of the night as enjoyable as she can. This is where some of her most passive aggressive moments shine, and she doesn't hold back on the deadpan insults.
Philosophical: More traits she picked up from her parents; when you throw a difficult topic in her face, she'll find a way to rationalize or romanticize it, making it easier overall to address. She tries to be level-headed to the best of her abilities, and she prefers to look at the big picture, often using it as an excuse to get away with things.
Unorganized: Good luck finding anything you need at her place. There's no reason to be organized if she remembers where everything is herself, so why bother? She tends to do things out of order, making things harder on herself because of it.
Independent: Luella cannot stand being clung to or held down, and needs to go her own way when she can. While she's still in debt from loans, she considers herself independent enough to own her own place and go where she wants to go. She doesn't see how owning a bunch of Pokemon can be an issue if they know how to survive on their own, and she's no trainer, but she does try to teach them the basics so they won't depend on her as much either.
Lethargic: Pretty much the general mood you're going to pick up from her. She's lackadaisical and unmotivated for most things, and enjoys skipping around in her own world. While she's not lazy per say, she's ultimately care-free and relaxed. If she puts her mind to it, Luella can sleep anywhere she wants. She's one to make herself at home at a total stranger's house, sprawling all over their furniture as if she owns it.
Not-so-Confidential: Not many topics are taboo to her, so she'll freely spill her life story to a stranger. Unless they're a police officer or in some weird position of power, she's open about things most people wouldn't consider talking about. Put a TMI sticker on this girl's mouth.

Ambitions: While she finds money artificial and unnecessary, someday, she wants to decorate her entire body in dazzling diamond jewelry. One of these days, she wants to upgrade her travelling van, Cider, into a super van so she can live on the move. Luella also dreams of swimming in a pool of jello, but we're not going to get into that.

HISTORY
History: Born in Dewford and raised in Slateport, Mauville, and finally Vendanturf Town, Luella didn't grow up feeling as if she had one true place to call home. Home was something portable, and she found it in her huge, hard to deal with family. The younger middle child of four children, she had her share of being the spoiled baby until her younger brother came along. Her parents weren't the best influences out there, but they were incredibly involved in the hippie movement during their time. Her older siblings had a taste of the era, and the free loving culture was easily passed onto her as well. Her father flunked out of high school and made a living by singing in his folk rock band, while her mother joined in as a vocalist. They had an average talent at best, and it was a job that required traveling to where the people where, forcing the kids to lose old friends and make new friends, and in Luella's case, she even became detached from the thought of having a lifelong friendship.
Family was supposed to be the one bond that never broke, but there was a 7-10 year age difference that made it difficult to connect to her older siblings. Save for her younger brother, she just didn't feel a need to get along with any of them when they constantly talked over her and picked on her, simply because they were older. You'd think that the little brother would get this treatment too, but no. As the baby of the family, it was only too easy to dote on him, leaving a one-sided rivalry between the youngest siblings. To try and make sure he didn't have life 'too good', as she called it, she often picked on him. She spread rumors. She hid his things. And when her parents didn't side with her, well, they had to deal with her torment too.
Her father was a lax kind of guy that didn't care enough to discipline his kids, but he did what he could to teach them the sappiest life lessons ever. Her mother often tried to encourage some form of punishment for when the kids got a little too rowdy, but her father always laughed her off, much to her mom's annoyance. If it wasn't for her mom's support, Luella might not have gone to school at all. But she went, spent more of her time socializing in club activities than focusing on her grades, and eventually got pregnant in high school.
Whoa. Slow down. We gotta talk about that too.
At age 17, basically her senior year of High School, Luella met a guy that just inspired her to do anything. She knew he was attracted to her, had his whole life ahead of him, and even though they had completely different personalities, at the time, she had faith in the phrase 'opposites attract'. She never saw herself as having any sort of productive lifestyle until she met Shinobu Kazuki, who she affectionately called Simon, because of the game 'Simon Says' and due to his pushy, self-advancing nature.
The pair went to the same high school, and met because both of them played the flute in the school's marching band. They shared some minor and brief interaction back then, but nothing sparked until she caught the aftermath of this scrawny bookworm getting bullied at school. She helped him clean up and they talked, leaving both of them rather surprised at how they got along despite their differences. The usual fast lane romance happened, mixing up lust with love after a passionate mistake left her very obviously pregnant during her last year of high school. Simon owned up to it though, rather excited at the prospect of having a wife and kid, and the two were married not long after they graduated.
To Luella, the marriage was without a doubt, a mistake. They were blessed with a healthy son named Daniel, whom she loved to dote on and play with, taking on the role of a housewife with some success. But to be frank, while she meant well, she was a negligent parent who was often very forgetful about all of infant Danny's needs. As Simon moved his way up to college, studying and working at his part-time job, the couple found themselves bickering way more than they ever expected. Luella wanted more time out of the house, Simon couldn't stay home to watch Danny due to school and work, and Luella felt trapped in it all. She loved Simon, or at least that was what she told herself, but she often rejected his affections and advances, never feeling up for any overbearing expression of love.
The couple stayed together for Danny's sake, at least until Simon was able to support both of them, and then the couple started talking about separating. Already, they were fairly separated once they realized that their problems in paradise couldn't be fixed. They lived together, but the love they had was only directed towards Danny, who lapped it right up. She always felt some sort of connection with her son, adoring how he took after her looks as she fawned over his blonde hair and blue eyes, but there was that fear that he'd additionally inherit some of her family's bad habits. Drug addiction was an obvious concern, which was something Luella's parents got themselves into, and even Luella got into the habit while Danny was at school.
Simon was a bit of a romantic stick in the mud and resisted the idea of a divorce for as long as he could, thinking that there was always a way to stop a relationship from sinking, but their lack of compatibility was too obvious. There was little to no agreement between the two, and there was an absence of romantic love. Finally, when Danny was 12 years old, the couple divorced. While Luella stuck around her family in Vendanturf Town, Simon and Danny moved to Mossdeep in the hopes that a new setting would help the family move on. The divorce was about as friendly as divorces could get, with Luella agreeing that Simon deserved full custody, while Luella was granted visitation rights.
Without a job and anyone to support her, Luella lamented to herself as she bummed around at her parent's place, occasionally jobless, occasionally picking up jobs around the city and getting fired from them. If Simon wanted child support, he was barely getting it from her. Eventually she moved to Lilycove City because it was closer to Danny, and it gave her the chance to find more jobs. As the times changed and people became more open about a person's sexual orientation, Luella eventually came to terms with her preference and attraction to women. Pretty much explained her lack of interest in Simon, save for her teenage years when she simply assumed she found 'the one' and jumped in at the first chance she had. She later discovered the difference between her romantic orientation and her sexual orientation when she realized why she wasn't getting what she wanted out of her relationships with women, consistently noticing how her partners always wanted more from her, just like Simon, and she simply wasn't interested. While she remains interested in having a relationship on her terms, they really have to be on her terms, and to some people, it might not feel like a relationship at all.
She works several part-time jobs in Lilycove and spends her nights sleeping in a lime green van she calls 'Cider'. Things started to get better for her after one of her siblings in Vendanturf recommended her to take up being a Pokemon Breeder, and because they happened to work at the nearby Day Care Center, they were occasionally given eggs from trainers that didn't want to bother with them. A few text messages later, and soon Luella ended up with an adorable Spinda and a fussy, bratty Patrat that hatched recently to start her off.

Continuity: Original Other Characters: Danny Kazuki Role play Sample:
Sometimes no matter how much you invest yourself in another person’s well-being, life puts its foot right in your face, forcing you to accept that it’s just not meant to work out.
Lounging underneath the shade of the light house as the purr of a 1978 Dodge Tradesman Van kept her company, Luella rested her head against Cider’s metal frame after another failed phone call. She wanted to blame the technology for never connecting her to the person she wanted, but the truth was that the person on the other end was simply rejecting her calls. She knew that, but accepting it was grating on her conscious with elongated nails digging themselves deep into her cortex. Even more grating was the sound of children’s laughter frolicking around the Lilycove Lighthouse, spiraling around the interior until the chain-linked line of children snaked their way to the top, gasping and staring in awe at how the sun melted the blue hues out of the sky. Cider let out a cough as if it was trying to bring her back to reality, to which she responded with a gentle pat on its side. ”Easy, babe. I’m ok.” Cider might’ve been cold to the touch, but this van gave her the freedom she needed ever since she learned how to drive him. If she listened closely, she could hear her newfound company rummaging through Cider’s backside, making themselves at home as they tore the place up to their liking. She didn’t have much experience with Pokemon, save for helping to raise a family pet, but to suddenly have two of them for the sake of her new career as a breeder was almost unimaginable.
Yet she was still doing it, even though she had next to no idea on where to start. The thumping and jumping inside of the van grew louder until she could hear fuzzy paws knocking on the glass above her, and without even flinching, she slowly lifted her head up to meet the piercing gaze of a Patrat and Spinda staring back down at her. ”Bored already? Geez, you’re both so troublesome. You’re lucky you’re cute.” It wasn’t that she intended on locking them in Cider for the rest of the evening, but she didn’t want to deal with keeping an eye on either of them when they were so much faster than she was. As tired as she was, she couldn’t help but cave into their demands as she hopped into Cider’s driving seat, making herself comfortable as Red-Eyes took the passenger seat, and Baby Dragon sat right on her lap. ”Yeah, yeah…I think a drive sounds nice too. We can stop and pick up some edibles before my night shift.” As much as she hated the thought of working late at night, it still beat working in the middle of the day, when she preferred to sleep in as much as possible. Despite Cider's aging problems, he only let out a couple of coughs before he was able to get moving, and with Red-Eyes staring out the open window, not many people felt comfortable looking at Cider for more than a few seconds due to the intensity of those fiery pupils.
"Cute." Luella obviously didn't have any issues with the Patrat's resting expression, giving him an affectionate pat on the head as the Spinda in her lap jealously clung to her arm, attempting to hoard some of those pets for herself. Reluctant about spoiling her Pokemon more than she should, she hesitated before giving the Spinda a brief scratch under her chin, figuring that if she couldn't indulge her affections in the people she wanted, at least she could give her spare affection to the Pokemon she had to take care of.

Ambitions: Sparked by Erin Caufield, Luella now has an interest in breeding water Pokemon for a future aquarium in the Nue region. Also plans to upgrade Cider once her breeding biz gets some success. Not looking for love interests, but could use some casual drinking buddies in Nue. Definitely wants to expand that social circle.
HISTORY
Born in Dewford and raised in Slateport, Mauville, and finally Vendanturf Town, Luella didn't grow up feeling as if she had one true place to call home.
Nue Update:
The antics of the Pokemon Fanclub caught wind of the poor quality of Luella's breeding facilities (aka the use of a public beach & van), and after much verbal and written harassment from those silly Fanclub members and those miserable local authorities, Luella started looking for other options. Get more money to improve the living quality of her Pokemon? Sure, she'd get there eventually. But funds were hard, and if she had to be poor, everyone else had to be poor. But social media was absolutely buzzing about the ample opportunities for breeding and training in the Nue region, and with her son already racing towards Nue, Luella picked up her nonexistent bags and set off to the warmest city she could find.
