Title: Blizzard Drifts Claimed By: (weekly basis) Catching: No Members: 1 - 3 Rewards: •20, SB Description: The crazy weather around Snowbelle is acting up again! It's not just the cold air coming from the Gym that keeps the place in its "eternally frozen" state; but there are real, actual blizzards that blow through the area from time to time.
The mission starts on the morning right after the blizzard has come through the town; and most of the passable roads have been blocked off--save the route going to the city itself.
The objective: melt as much snow and clear up the town enough so that the people can get around and get warm!
Notes: A Fire-type Pokemon highly recommended for this mission! Mere snow shovels aren't enough to get rid of all the excess snow!
He hated snow. Hated ice and the cold too. While he was certainly no Scrooge or Grinch, hating Christmas or happy people, his hatred had a more historical origin. Regardless, he was here to fulfill his job as a Pokemon Ranger. The night before, a blizzard had ravaged Snowbelle City, making it even colder than usual, and even blocking all but one road into the city. This snow could possibly be shoveled, if you wanted to be working out there for three days straight. Yeah, Rik was standing in front of one of the nine foot tall snow drifts brought into existence by the nasty blizzard.
"....... Shit. Rune, you think you could even touch this thing?" Beside the White Ranger stood his trusted partner, an Arcanine named Rune, as well as Rune's sister, a Ninetales named Azria. Rune simply shrugged, looking up. "Enh, that might work. Maybe." It went without saying that the sooner he finished, the sooner the city could go back to normal.
"Alright, let's go. Azria, bring the heat. Rune, get onto heating this thing up." Both siblings nodded, and Azria lifted her head to let loose a howl. Soon after, the cloudy sky parted slightly to send rays of sun down upon the Ranger and the snow drift. With the added strength, their flames should work, except the duo had another idea. Instead of breathing flames at the snow drift, they shot flames at each other. A curious bystander might wonder why they would choose now to fight, however they weren't actually fighting. What they were doing was empowering each other via their abilities, Flash Fire.
With even stronger flames, the duo reared back and began throwing flames at the snow drift, slowly but surely wearing it down.

"Fawkes, use Ember! Inferno, use Flamethrower!"
That was the sound that came as bursts of flame came from both a Charmander and a Cyndaquil respectively. The flames, which were amplified by the rays nearby, would melt the snow blocking the road that Josh had taken, and would bring him and his entourage to the source of the rays.
"Ah, you must be the Ranger I was told was handling this thing as well then?" Josh questioned with a smile as his two fire Pokemon walked over with him. He looked over at the work Rikkan's two Fire Pokemon were doing and smirked faintly.
Something or other had been sent out asking for help on this little mission, and Josh had happily taken it since he was in the area. But gah, he hated the cold so much. The sooner he could get somewhere warm, the better! But regardless, as he normally did when the travelling Trainer was going to be in these kinds of conditions, he was dressed warmly and was well prepared to be out here for a long period of time, despite his misgivings. He'd been told the location of most of the damage from the snow upon talking to the one who had put the bulletin up, as well as the fact there was a Pokemon Ranger out there already plucking away at it. He'd set out immediately, of course. No need to let someone try and handle this kind of thing alone.
"My name's Josh, I took the offer to come give you a hand out here" he greeted with a smile as he pointed over at the snow that Rikkan's Pokemon were trying to melt, to his two Pokemon. "Fawkes, Inferno, let's give them a hand, why don't we?" he said. "Fawkes, use Ember again! Inferno, use Flamethrower!" he commanded.
The two nodded at their Trainer. "Char!" the newcomer, Fawkes let out. "Quill!" Inferno let out in agreement. Josh was relieved that the Charmander had finally started to calm down. When he had first let it out of it's Pokemon after catching it, he still seemed to be angry over his Totodile, Vector biting his tail before... Luckily, that seemed to be water under the bridge. For now anyway.
"QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL!" Inferno let out as a heavy stream of fire erupted from his back, his mouth opening to unleash a large jet of flames at the snow drift. "CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!" Fawkes would let out himself, from his mouth being an, albeit smaller, but still powerful in it's own way, a stream of flames using Ember. Hopefully, he thought, with the combined might of the four Pokemon's fire attacks, the snow drift would wear down and melt as soon as possible.
As the Fire duo continued wearing away at the snow drift, another source of flames could be heard somewhere nearby. Suddenly the origin revealed itself in a man and his own two Fire Pokemon.
"Ah, you must be the Ranger I was told was handling this thing as well then?"
He gave a quizzical expression for a brief moment. "Somebody knows I'm out here?" He shook his head, dispelling his thoughts. Someone probably recognized him from Shalour City or something. Regardless, during his stay in Kalos, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. "Names Rikkan, what's yours?"
"My name's Josh, I took the offer to come give you a hand out here" The White Ranger eyed the two basic form fire types Josh had brought with them. They wouldn't be that much help, but with the suns extended rays, any fire attack was devastatingy hot. He.nodded to Josh at the notion of assistance. "Good. With Sunny Day active, the four of them should have this thing gone in seconds."
"Fawkes, Inferno, let's give them a hand, why don't we? Fawkes, use Ember again! Inferno, use Flamethrower!"
In a matter of seconds, the snow drift was indeed reduced to size, revealing a bit of nearly frozen dirty from beneath the snow. Snowbelle's frequent snow will cover it up soon, but nowhere near to the extreme of the huge snow banks. Rik turned to face Josh. "We should split up, we can cover more ground. You should take Rune if you don't have access to the move Sunny Day."
He glanced at Rune, who nodded back at him in return before turning to look at Josh with curious eyes.

"Somebody knows I'm out here?" the man had said. Josh blinked, wondering why he'd seemed confused... Apparently nobody told him they were trying to send help. Regardless, he was here now, the very least he could do was try and clear out the snow. After introductions were done, Josh watched as the snow was melted, with the flames amplified by the effects of Sunny Day.
"It might be good if we did split up" he agreed. They would be able to cover more ground this way, melt more snow much quicker, and then get back into the city and wrap themselves under warm blankets with hot chocolate much sooner. The man then offered his "Rune", which he nodded to. "I suppose" he agreed, cracking his neck. "I don't have any Pokemon with Sunny Day, but I do have one more Fire Pokemon as well that can help get the job done, since we're splitting up" he said. "Go, Vulcan!" he said as he tossed the Pokeball. Out came a Combusken, likely stronger then the other two. There was a good chance Josh had been saving the Combusken just in case, and had taken this as an opportunity to train the two basic form fire types while he was doing a good thing for the community as well. Josh smirked and patted the Combusken's head. "We'll get as much as we can, and meet up with you afterword to clear out anything that either of us might have missed" he said.
