"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"...Ya know...I'm pretty sure this book is lying to me at this point."
Yumi flicked through the pages of the book she had "borrowed" from the tower of mastery for the tenth time today. This book, while extremely worn, showed hints and clues of mega stones and mega pokemon they had yet to experience, but at the same time, all they could find were pinsirites over and over again. perhaps it had something to do with not being as valuable? Like it wasn't as strong a gem so there was more of it? Or maybe it was just the fact everyone who knew about mega evos in the past realized that Mega pinsir was a waste of time and just dumped them all back in the badlands...Yumi tended to vote more towards the latter option.
"Supposedly there should be Mega Lucario, Mega Blastoise, Mega Charizard, HECK, I'm pretty sure there are two of these things!" Thinking about it, that seemed pretty rediculous seeing how every other pokemon only had one mega form, but a part of Yumi wanted her to believe Enzo would be lucky enough to get two of these powerful forms. The dragon had been through a bunch, and it was an odd way to make up for it, but at the same time, he was so loyal a partner that she knew he deserved something like that to help him out when they were hitting tough times. "What do you think Rodger? Shall we keep looking?"
Sitting in her lap between her and the book was a quiet Mudkip, who had happily been snoozing away until Yumi had said his name, perking is head up and sleepily pawing at his eyes as he gazed over at the book, wondering what was going on. All he could see was weird pokemon, some of which seemed like relatives of the older members of the team. Not really caring, and just wanting to get as much rest as he could, he didn't really understand why they were coming out to some stupid desert away from all the nice little water ways back in Lumiose. Those cool little places he could swim and have a fun time...not some silly desert were he felt hot and really bored.
Rodger's response really summed up the feelings of most of her team at this point, especially diggers like Gavin. Yumi's pokemon felt like they'd gained as much as they could from the badlands, and that further searching was just a waste of their time. Of course she had some pokemon who were just happy to get out like the Garchomp twins, Johnny and Jimmy, and others were too loyal to say anything, such as Ko-ken and Enzo. Despite their recent failed searches, she knew there was something out there for them to find...they just needed to look somewhere new.
"Come on Rodger." Closing her book and slipping it into her bag, Yumi lifted herself up with the Mudkip climbing to her shoulder. "Lets get huntin."

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi wondered out through the badlands, looking for any area she had yet to explore in the hopes that many people had left it untouched in their search for ites, much like she had until now. With Rodger on her shoulder she felt she had some good protection against any ground types she may run up against. "You keeping your eyes out for any danger?" The small mudkip gave a nod, hopping off her shoulder and glancing around, a little surprised by just how desolate the badlands were. Yumi almost found it funny, wondering how he'd react to the caves full of pokemon they'd found below.
Just ahead of them the ground began to shift as a Vibrava seemed to burrow its way out of the earth, shaking off some of the dust. Not seeing it as much of a threat, Rodger walked closer, holding out a paw as if to ask the Vibrava if it was friendly or not. Not sure herself, yumi just watched curiously, wondering how the ground dragon would react. At first the two pokemon just gazed at eachother, and as it looked like the Vibrava was about to be friendly, his head jolted out in an attempt to bite the fin off the mudkip, forcing it to jump back with some fear, but growled, a gurgly sound coming from his throat, failing nearly comically at striking fear back at the Vibrava.
"Alright...just one Vibrava, we got this." As ever, the world wanted to punch Yumi in the face. The earth around the original vibrava churned and a second vibrava joined the fray, and a third, more and more came until a small horde of nine were hissing like lizards at the mudkip, clearly striking a sense of doubt in its own skills, Rodger's eyes darting between the nine pokemon and wondering how he could take them all on.
"Hey er..Rodger? You want some help?" The Mudkip was quick to nod, and Yumi picked quickly from her belt, sending out an even stronger water type from her team, a turtle in training much like Rodger, Cardon the wartortle took to the field and was quick to move beside the mudkip, smart enough to realize a tough situation when he saw it. 9 dragons ready to take them on? No way he was gonna rush into this, even with a type advantage.
"So...you guys think you got this?"
With slight doubt in their skills, but a tonne of determination nonetheless. The wartortle knew the Mudkip was vetter prepared for this battle than he was, and stepped back to let him have his time to shine. With the Vibrava lifting slowly fromt he ground, their wings beating 20 times a second, they looked ready to strike, but so did Rodger. Witha small orb of water forming in his maw, it soon unleashed into a strong surf attack, torrents of water spewing forth and catching the pokemon off guard, all of them flapping faster in a hope to escape the drenching, while Cardon stood strong, taking the water without worry. What was once a desert are was covered with a fin layer of water the water types could use to their advantage, where as the Vibrava were struggling to fly now due to the water clinging to their wings, making them feel heavy and weak.
"Cardon, you wanna take the rest?"
The Wartortle didn't need telling twice. While the Vibrava were left weakened by the blast of water, Cardon felt empowered. Using his powerful aqua jet speed, he swam through the water at top speed, ramming between the Vibrava like a pinball bouncing between bumpers, keeping them disorientated and confused as he blasted between them. As he reached the last of the nine, his limbs slipped out of his shell and he kicked off it's head, using his momentum to leap up into the air, deciding to finish them off in one impressive strike.
"Now, aura sphere!"
Grinning wide, the Wartortle pulled his palms together, a blue energy pulsing between them, before thrusting it forward and releashing an assault of blasts on the Vibrava just as they finally began to dry off, pelting them down against the ground and finishing them off, landing strongly and holding himself proudly as the Vibrava lay knocked out around him, Rodger rushing over to stand just as proudly by his side.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC CROWN ! A crown made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi ducked down beside her two little water types, rubbing their shoulders and pulling them into a hug with a chery little giggle, Rodger rearing up to his hind legs to return the hug while Cardon just rolled his eyes and joined in.
"You two are impressive little tykes ya know that? Ko-ken would be proud, and heck, he didn't even start training either of you yet!~"
Standing up, with Rodger running up to her shoulder, Yumi gave a pleasant chuckle as she watched some of the Vibrava beginning to wake up, instantly realizing the trouble they would be in if they stuck around, and diving into the ground as they spotted the water types still hanging out around them.
"Now, how about we keep searching for those mega stones huh? We can't be that far from a good hotspot for them." Rodger tapped the side of her face to get her attention before pointing off into the distance, highlighting a cave entrance nearby. It seemed big enough for some pretty hefty pokemon to have built. "Heh, yeah that could work."
A short journey later the group were in the cave, Yumi snapping out a torch from her backpack and using it to help them find their way. Par a few boulders, nothing special seemed to catch their eye. In fact, it was the same old junk they always found. Some odd stones people could class as relics, and dust everywhere. Surprisingly, the Cave was rather short, and Yumi found herself hitting the end quickly, Cardon and Rodger equally surprised, and beginning to search about for some side-cave they had missed on the way.
"Guess not every cave holds a big adventure hey guys? Guess we'll just-"
Yumi turned to a bunch of low down red eyes staring back at her, raising her torch to reveal Hippowdown after hippowdown. Roughly ten staring back as Rodger and Cardon realized too, backing up and standing beside Yumi, quietly gulping and sharing nervous glances. "Those werem't boulders we kept walking past were they?" The two pokemon quickly shook their heads, the Hippowdown crawling closer to the pokemon who'd invaded their territory, and the red head human who was stupid enough to bring them here.
"Okay...so hows about you two get started...and I'll bring out back up. Rodger? Mind getting use some space?"
The Mudkip didn't understand the order at first, and so quickly looked to Cardon. Once the wartortle mimed throwing up, Rodger was ready to go, hopping in front of Yumi just as the Hippowdown began to charge them, and orb of water forming from his maw, and blasting out in all directions with the strong surf he had managed to create in their last battle. Despite their weight, the cave allowed the surf to generate a much more powerful current, washing the ground types all the way out. With no time to lose thinking about it, Cardon and Rodger rushed out to finish the job and ensure they didn't end up trapped again. In the meantime, Yumi had finally selected their back up, and with a flash of red, Connor joined the battle.
Hopping out of his pokeball the excitable totodile instantly began to dance with joy at the prospect of being outside his ball. "Oi, Connor, sunshine is lovely and all that, I understand, but we sorta need your help here. Mind focusing?" As if a loyal soldier, Connor immediately stopped his dance, standing before Yumi straight and tall, saluting her proudly. Of course this only made Yumi's sigh deeper as she recalled just hoe much Connor liked to play around. "Look, Cardon and Rodger, you remember rodger, you guys play in the pond at the park. Anyway, those two are out their fighting Hippowdown. If you take out the most I'll give you a treat, how's that sound?"
Suddenly hearing that he'd get a treat, a wide open jawed smile came to the totodile's face, and like a flash, he darted off to the battle going on outside, dragon dancing all the way until he'd boosted himself to triple speed, his attack following suit. By now Cardon had managed to generate enough aura sphere blasts to take out two of the Hippowdown, while Rodger was sticking to hydro pumps and mirror coating any special attacks that managed to make contact to take down two of his own.
"TOTO!" "War?" "Mud?"
Each surprised by one of the tems jokers joining the battle, and with such speed behind him, the two pokemon just watched as he jumped straight into the face of one of the Hippowdown, kicking off its face and jumping between the Hippowdown, even slamming shut the maw of one of them as it tried to take a bite of Rodger. With each of them equally focused on the rude croocodile who had bounced on their faces, he landed between Cardon and Rodger. Even Rodger, who was just as playful as any other pokemon gave the totodile a serious "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" look as the hippowdown were only more enraged. He simply held up a hand to halt their gazes, reared his head back, and whent to town.
With the power of his dragon dance boosts behind him, he began to fire rapid bursts of hydro pump from his maw, every time a hippowdown grew close he'd blast it right back, shooting down every last one that dared come close. At one point his speed would fail him, and two Hippowdown who had been hiding at the back would attempt to emerge from the earth beneath him with dig, but with Cardon and Rodger right beside him, they each used their own water attacks, aqua jet and surf respectively to force them back down the holes they came from. Rushing out to the sight of a bunch of KO'd Hippowdown and her 3 water pokemon dancing around eachother, Yumi couldn't help but give a little chuckle at the sight of them.
"So, how many?"
Rodger and Cardon turned to Yumi and quickly raised three fingers on their paws, while Connor, still dancing as he turned, rose up two hands, with 2 fingers on each. "Oh, well I think we have a winner.~ Someones getting a nice hot bath all to himself when we get home.~"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Well guys, that was really an impressive show. Now that the caves cleared out how about we give it a better look? That Hippowdown family may have been covering a few smaller tunnels we never saw before."
With a quick nod from the totodile, the Wartortle, and the mudkip, the three pokemon where quick to follow behind the red headed trainer. Yumi felt like Rodger and Cardon may have seen enough action, so it was time for the Connor to have some fun. The Totodile just seemed happy to be out and about, so there was no doubt he'd be up for another battle or two if another pokemon came their way along the path inside the cave.
Torch out once more, and a boosted totodile by her side, Yumi was ready to see what she could make of the tunnel. She was right from what she said, it seemed many smaller paths had opened up. They just seemed too small to get through with all the "boulders" blocking them over before. Taking the first right she could, she moved on towards the deeper paths of the cave, trying to see if she could find any of those shining little gems to take home.
With the path going deeper and deeper, the Totodile quickly got bored of running in circles, and looked for something her could turn into a fun time. Spotting a shuckle ahead of them, the water type was quick to rush ahead, Cardon and Rodger reaching out to stop him, but only groaning as his already boosted speed gave him an edge above them both. Yumi only watched Curiously, keeping the torch on him, wondering what he was gonna do with it.
In the eyes of the totodile however, Connor could only see a football where a shuckle was, and with his dragon danced strength, he lifted the rick above his head, beginning to play keepey ups as the rock type inside flailed about, its jelly like arms flailing in all directions until the water type would put it out of its misery, giving it an extra strong kick to the sky, backflipping, and blasting it against the ceiling with a hydro pump, finally pulling a "ta-dah" pose as the whimpering shuckle landed infront of him, soaked. Yumi almost found it mean to the Shuckle that she had to applaud connor.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Dosn't look like we'll find anything guys..." As if on cue Yumi's totodile tugged on her shorts...which was highly ammusing seeing as he had to jump up to even reach them, bringing a smile to Yumi's lips. "What's up little guy?" The small water type pointed off to a small Sandshrew, carrying a rather odd looking rock, one Yumi recognized as a helix fossil from way back when she had squishy on her team. "Huh, I suppose its better we leave with something than nothing...you wanna go grab it bud?"
Connor gave a quick nod and darted off, rushing up behind the sandshrew, but beginning to tip toe when he was close, slowly drawing closer and tapping its shoulder. The moment the ground type turned around, Connor would rear his head, water forming in his cheeks before blasting out in a hydro pump, blasting the sandshrew against a nearby wall and forcing it to release the Helix fossil for Toto to catch, the crocodile blowing tongues at the sandshrew before rushing off to take the stone to his red headed beauty of a trainer.
"To-to!~" "Connor! Behind you!"
Hearing the call of his trainer, Connor didn't even turn around. Instead, dropping the fossil, he bent down to look through his legs, the fury cutting sandshrew flying over head as the pokemon he aimed for ducked out of the blew. With no way to stop the sandshrew found himself crashing headfirst into a nearby boulder, knocking himself out.
"...Well thats one way to KO a pokemon.~" "Toto~"
<MOD NOTE> Mudkip and Wartortle took on a horde of 9 vibrava Mudkip, Totodile, and wartortle took on 10 hippowdown Totodile took on a sandshrew and Shuckle to compensate.
