  ”Alright. Just a little more, Zernebog, and you’re practically home-free.”
Zernebog muttered to himself as he wiped his brow again with his arm. Idly, he wished that he had brought along more than three face towels to wipe off his sweat with. It was something to take note of in his next major excursion in here, whenever that may be.
Now there was only one thing to do. Finish fixing the digging areas and then secure the different Mega Stones he had found in this trip. There was another trip to Luminose with his name on it, and he did not doubt that he owed all of the pokemon today a feast for their efforts. Heck, he owed himself a feast for his efforts. He could even swear that he discovered more in these past few weeks than he had all year last year. Not a comforting thought in the least.
”Time to get to work. Lolly-gagging ain’t going to make things speed up.” He grumbled to himself as he took the shovel out of the earth again, resisting the urge to cringe as his burning muscles protested rather loudly.
Unknown to him, there were four sets of eyes watching him as he got right back to work….

”Huh… a rock?”
Zernebog stared at the yellow crown-like object that he had just unearthed. It resembled some of the previous crowns that he had dug up in previous days… or maybe it was the other way around? After all, he was well-versed enough in his studies to know that he had just dug up a King’s Rock, which was used to evolve some pokemon. He couldn’t remember which ones this particular evolved though, nor could he remember how it activated.
If he remembered right, these were actually only slightly less expensive than an evolution stone although they were much rarer than said stones. He wasn’t sure why they were priced like that either; he was no economics expert. Too much prediction and uncertainties for his tastes.
Seeing that he didn’t know much about it, it was easy for him to come to a conclusion. ”…Eh. I don’t have a pokemon that can use this, so might as well put it in the useful junk pile along with the rest.”
With a shrug, he took the King’s Rock out from the ground gently and started to walk towards the junk pile he had amassed while digging in this area’s hard, compact clay soil.

”…Ugh. Finally done.”
Zernebog wiped the sweat off his brow as he finished climbing out of the hole. Up in the sky, the moon was bright and serene, twinkling alongside the stars. It had taken over for the sun an hour ago, forcing him to take a quick break to get a flashlight to continue his note-taking. All in all, it took him a few hours to finish taking notes and documenting all of the objects they had found in this dig site. There was only one thing Zernebog felt after this accomplishment.
”I’m tired.” Zernebog groaned. His stomach rumbled at him angrily in response. ”Crap. Now I’m hungry too. Just great. And to think I’m not even sure if I can walk back with all of the stones, including the newest one I found….”
In response, a purple blur suddenly swooped over and snatched him from the shoulders and started flying away with a mixture between a giggle and a screech. Frankly, Zernebog was too tired to be shocked so he just grinned up at his Aerodactyl. ”Expect Oh, thank you Artemis.”
He didn’t notice as his other pokemon began packing all of the stuff in the dig site and started to make a mass exodus away from the dig site as well as he was being flown up in the air back to the city….
