elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.

Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Back in the badlands again, Yumi thought she'd try and take a new approach to her little trips out. She'd learned with Cardon that her trips didn't have to be just useless searches that could end with her getting nothing. The badlands were full of wild pokemon, and she could easily train some of her weaker team mates as she searched for these elusive gems. With the gems being underground, what better pokemon to bring than her troublesome digging twins, Johnny and Jimmy, the Gabites?
There were a lot of better pokemon it turned out.
Ever since Yumi had given them the idea to dig, they had began ramming through the earth randomly, leaving holes hear and there, and she was sure from the few times she heard thumpings beneath her, they had managed to headbutt eachother in their tunnels. It was chaos, and odds were, if she was gonna find something, it wasn't gonna be any time soon.
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC BAND ! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

With Johnny and Jimmy searching for the megastones, Yumi thought she'd take a break for a change, yawning quietly to herself as she pulled a rolled up sleeping bag out of her backpack, placing it on the floor and using it as a cushion to sit on, releasing her remaining four pokemon around her so she wasn't the only one who was able to stretch her arms. With red flashes, Tequill, Niko, Gavin, and Jiraya spawned from their pokeballs. Spotting the desert like terrain around him, the scrafty had a kneejerk reaction to groan, flopping down onto his rear and pulling out his spade, preparing to dig, all of this bringing a soft chuckle to Yumi's lips.
"Don't worry bud. We're not searching today. Johnny and Jimmy got that covered."
Shock seemed to strike the four pokemon. Each of them looked to their trainer with a look of intense confusion as if they were questioning her motives, perhaps even her mental health.
"Look guys, I know they've been a little bit chaotic in the past, but they know to bring back anything shiny. I'm sure they'll be fine..." The stares did not cease, and if anything became more of a quirked brow, as if implying Yumi knew full well what she was saying was Tauros dung.
Indistinguishable from eachother, the two Gabites rushes up and down the desert landscape. Through some digging they'd found some odd stones, with weird patterns on them. To any normal person these were priceless relics that could be sold to the highest bidder. To Johnny and Jimmy? These were the perfect rocks for a game of catch. With one tossing the stone and the other leaping up with a flap of his fins for some extra lift, the two didn't seem like they could be having more fun.
"Alright now pass it back!"
With a long throw from Johnny, the odd stone they'd been using seemed to be heading for it's target, but, at the last moment, a sandshrew popped up from the earth to snatch it out of midair, holding it in its tiny claws before suddenly darting off upon landing with it.
"Hey! That's our tossy thing!"
Rushing after the pokemon that had so rudely ruined their game, Jimmy was quick to dive underground as Johnny activated his dragon rush attack in order to catch up with the pokemon. Seeing the blue energy cover the pokemon behind him, the sandshrew was quick to pick up the pace, initiating a rollout to try and keep himself moving. Of course, with Johnny speeding up, so was Jimmy, cutting through land like it was water, popping up infront of the sandshrew and throwing a dual slash attack to either of it's sides. His own claws stopping it from spinning like a ball with a stick through it. Holding the curled up sandshrew to the air, Johnny jumped up, kicking it with the force of his dragon rush and sending it flying, leaving the twins to high five eachother for their victory.
And then, realization struck.
"HE STILL HAS THE THINGY!"
And with that, the two dragons ran further into the badlands.

"GABITE!" "GAB GAB!"
Having finally caught up with the sandshrew they had kicked for miles, the knocked out ground type lay there, dazed and baking in the desert sun as his whole world became a blur from taking such a strong hit. The relic however was nowhere to be seen, and as if on cue, the two Gabites began running in circles, as if this would somehow aid them in finding their odd little stone that they'd been using as a ball for their game of catch.
"Where is it Jimmy!?" "I dunno Johnny!"
The two dragons, pokemon that would be top of the food chain in the wild, were reduced to headless chickens as they looked for their plaything, until Johnny interupted the cycle, stopping dead, with Jimmy soon numping into the fin on his back, the two looking at eachother for just a second before they each turned their gaze to what had stopped Johnny in the first place. A diglett, chugging away like a train through the dirt with the relic band wrapped around his tiny head.
"Jimmy, sandstorm." "Got it Johnny!"
Spinning quickly around, flapping the tiny fins that made poor excuses for wings on his arms, a storm of dust and sand was soon whipped up, confusing the diglett as it hadn't sensed anything coming so suddenly. Using the sand to their advantage, the two dragons stayed low, using their sand veil to avoid detection. One ran in quickly, slashing with his claw accross the back of the diglett, shocking the pokemon into dropping the relic band, only form the other Gabite to zip in and scoop up the relic, vanishing again into the sand. "Dig...?"
Already damaged by the slash, the diglett was on edge, spotting one of the dragons coming at him from the front, shooting out a mudslap, only for the Gabit to dissapear into the sand, leaving the diglett on edge, shaking miserably as it tried to figure out what was going on around it. Sadly, in it's confusion, Johnny had snuck up behind it, two dragon claws raised high and ready to strike it's target.
With the sound of two, quick swipes, the diglett was down, and Jimmy ended the sandstorm, high fiving his brother over their win, spinning the relic on his claw.

Little did the human woman or her Pokémon know, they were being observed. A yellow entity within a red shell raised its eyebrow as it observed the two Dragon-types confused and playful antics. It sat alone at the edge of a perch, seemingly relaxing, muttering under his breath in a menacing tone, “Interesting….” The Shuckle uncrossed his appendages and made a motion to rub his chin, thinking something over.
“BROTHER!”
At the yell, loud, but luckily inaudible to the soon-to-be victims thanks to distance, caught the attention of a Hippowdon who was marveling at a very rare sight in the Badlands: flowers. More specifically, he was staring in wonderment at a bouquet of flowers that somehow managed to blow into the Badlands before they wilted. The yell sent a jolt through the simple-minded Ground-type, making him jump in fear and accidentally land on the flowers.
“Awww… why’d you scare me?”
The Shuckle shook his head softly at the look the Hippowdon gave him, which some humans would probably call ‘adorably sad’. The Shuckle replied, his tone, as usual, dark and cold like the desert night, saying, “Because, brother, a human and some of their Pokémon have come into our territory.”
“Really?” the Hippowdon replied, walking over to the edge of the cliff, his eyes getting starry on seeing the Gabite duo. “They look like they’re having fun! Can’t we play with them instead, Brother?”
The question earned the Hippowdon a smack, one that hardly hurt but made the Hippowdon wince and cower nonetheless. “No, you fool! They have entered our territory! You know that everything and everyone must fear us!”
“But….”
“No buts!”
The Shuckle looked back to the Dragon Pokémon down below, the anger subsiding from his voice to be replaced with cold, malicious intent. “We’ll begin with a simple entrance. You tunnel us close and use your ability. I’ll shield you.”
The Hippowdon let out a sigh as the Shuckle climbed onto his back. “Yeah, okay….”
Moments later, the Hippowdon burst out of the ground with no warning whatsoever. He roared, true to form, demonstrating practiced intimidation tactics as he put on the best fierce face he could. Just before Hippowdon blew powerful streams of sand out of the holes in his back, obscuring them from view a bit, a clear but shimmering skin could be seen clinging to both of the Pokémon.
Hippowdon used Dig to enter the battlefield, then activated Sand Stream. Shuckle used Safeguard.

"WAH!"
The two dragons had finally retrieved their catch toy and begun playing, tossing it back and forth when, as if on cue to ruin their day at the peak of joy, a hippowdown burst from the earth a few feet away, alarming the twins and making Jimmy avoid his chance to catch, hearing the clunk of their toy and turning from the immediate danger that was now before them, trying to spot their plaything but sadly losing it in the sudden sandstorm.
"The hell?" "I dunno Jimmy, I think it has something to do with that big guy that popped up." "Another person ruining out fun Johnny!?" "I think so Jimmy."
The two gabite's looked to eachothe, giving off small grins.
"Well we know what to do.~"
With the sandstorm aiding them thanks to their natural sand veil ability, the two dragons practically vanished as they dashed off into the storm, still able to keep a good lock on the odd pokemon that had suddenly popped up out of the earth.
"The small one should be the easy target! Take 'em Jimmy!" "Got it Johnny!"
Charging out of the sand with great speed, one of the twin dragons shot towards the Hippowdon and it's little rider behind. As if that wasn't enough, 2 clones followed behind him, circling their foes before unleashing a barrage of sharp stones with stoned edge, aimed for the shuckle.
Meanwhile, safely hidden by the sandstorm, the other twin honed his claws, sharpening them up nice and ready to attack.

Shuckle used Rock Slide to block Stone Edge, then used Gastrio Acid on the Gabite who attacked! Hippowdon used Yawn on the Gabite who attacked, then Ice Fang!
The one Gabite had disappeared into Sandstorm, completely hidden from sight. The Shuckle and Hippowdon looked around frantically for its opponents. <Where did it go?!> The large Ground type asked, shaking his head in a panicked manner. The Shuckle simply sighed but perked up when one of the Gabites came in close. However, he was taken by surprised. <Isn't there supposed to be two? Wait, THERE'S THREE?> The Hippowdon asked in horror. That wasn't good. However, the clone of the Gabite simply passed through the large Ground type as it went in for the Shuckle.
The Shuckle wasn't too worried though. The Pokemon slammed one of its arms into the ground and a large wave of rock came crashing down, circling the Shuckle and preventing the Stone Edge from passing through. As the rocks fell to the ground and revealed the Gabite, the Shuckle snapped his head back and spat forward a large gunk of green go that sizzled in the air as it flew towards the Gabite.
The Hippowdon followed his brother's lead. The Pokemon opened its mouth wide, but instead of an attack it simply yawned and smacked its lips. In an attempt to draw the Gabite to sleep, the large Hippo like Pokemon yawned before disappearing underneath the sandy ground. Trying to catch the Gabite off guard, the Pokemon jumped out and tried to chomp down on the Gabite with frozen fangs.

"WOAH! They got themselves ready for us Johnny!"
With the Gabites stone edge halted by a the shuckles rock slide, and his clones vanishing against the rockslide itself, Jimmy was quick to back away. His twin brother was ready to jump in if need be, his claws honed and ready to strike if her must. Still, Jimmy was the main target now, and the Shuckle wouldn't let him forget it. Their sand veil skill was clearly going to be a nuisance for the hippow and the bug, and so he saw it fit to use his edge in speed to dart away from the gastric acid fired at him and into the sandstorm, vanishing from view as his brother joined the fray.
"No use yawning now bud! My bro won't hear you over the sandstorm!" Honing his claws as he charged, Johnny saw it fit to strike. Just as the Yawn ended, he'd hope to use the element of surprise on the hippowdown, slamming the tip half of his gigantic maw with his dragon claw and leaping away to gain some distance. The brothers were admitadly not the best of fighters, heck even their movesets were only half planned, but at the same time, they'd always have eachothers backs.
"Come on then you two, lets see what you can do to the older twin!" A voice was quick to call from the sandstorm. "YOU HATCHED 2 SECONDS EARLIER!" "YEAH AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!~"

Shuckle used Withdraw x3 Hippodon used Earthquake
The Gabite seemed to dodge everything that they threw at him. Or was that it's twin? They couldn't tell for sure. The Hippowdon's mouth was met with the Gabite's Dragon Claw. However, the ice was still on it's fangs. Despite interrupting it, there must have been some damage done to it. The Hippowdon had hoped on it. He glanced over at the Shuckle and nodded. <Brother, I am sorry but we MUST DO IT!> The Hippowdon said with a fiery passion burning in his eyes.
Shuckle simply shook his head in a disappointed manner but thought it was for the best. The Rock type withdrew into his shell and came back out, then repeated the same move two more times before staying inside his shell at the third Withdraw. <GO!> He screamed from inside his shell.
The Hippowdon roared loudly through the sandstorm. Whether the Gabites had evasion on their side or not, it couldn't help them if Hippowdon did this! The large Ground type slammed his two front paws into the ground, causing a mighty Earthquake that cracked the ground below them. <Dodge this!> The Hippowdon taunted as the Earthquake shook the field. The Shuckle came out of his shell, not worried about the Earthquake too much. The Withdraws kept him pretty safe from the strong attack, but the Gabites were still at risk!

"AGH!" Johnny stagged back as some ice shards scraped accross his scales. In his rush to try and slam the jaw of the hippowdown shut, he had clearly not thought about the ice that would be smashed and sent flying in all directions, luckily it wasn't as deadly as the ice fang itself, but it did make him fear the signs of what was to come. A withdrawing bug type, a hippowdown raising it's foot, ready to slam down, all the signs of an earthquake. Luckily, he was not the only one to see.
"Johnny! Hop up!" Rushing in as fast as he could, Jimmy held out his claws, crossed over one another ready for Johnny to hop onto. Before the earthquake made its make, Johnny had lept up into Jimmy's claws and been flung high into the air, way above the earthquake, which devestated his brother in his place. "NGH!" With the vibrations running through him he fell to his knees, but still grinning as he glanced at his brother above. "Bombs ahoy eh?"
With his remaining energy, Jimmy kicked off the maw of the hippowdown, hoping not to get caught in an attack in the process, but whether he did or did not hardly mattered as Jimmy flew down, slamming into the ground as johnny (hopefully) rose into the air, his own earthquake, ehanced with a midair hone claws slamming down into the earth.

Hippowdon tried to use Sand Tomb on Johnny before going down Shuckle used Withdraw and then Rock Slide x2
Hippowdon blinked as the Gabite tried to jump off its face. In a blur of rage, the large Ground type locked onto one of the Gabites and roared. The sand whipped up, attempting to encase the Gabite in a tomb of sand, preventing movement and recall. But as the Earthquake hit, the Hippowdon went down. Lowering his jaw in defeat and his eyes closed. His brother though, simply withdrew himself as the Earthquake went off.
Now alone, the Shuckle came out of his shell and looked at his defeated brother. Wanting revenge, the Shuckle called upon the power of... Shuckle-ness and released a barrage of rocks that rained down upon the Gabites. And another, just for good messages. You could never be too safe about Rock Slides, right? Right.

"Brother! Watch out, the hippowdown ain't going down yet!"
Johnny, falling down onto the maw of the Hippowdown himself was quick to hop off, scrambling backwards and falling to his rear after his earthquake struck and took down the hippo, desperate to get out of range of the sand tomb as Jimmy landed beside him. Ready to go should things get any worse, and with the shuckle all defensed up, it didn't exactly get better. The rock slide was coming down on them was a sign that they should probably end things fast before their injuries caught up with them. With two flicks of his claws, the earth power of Jimmy arched over the two dragons, blasting the rocks to the side and leaving the Shuckle wide open for the dragons.
As it hid in its shell with the approach of the two Pokemon, Jimmy rested his foot on the top of its shell as Johnny took a run up, the energy of his dragon rush burning around him.
"Bye bye Shuckley~"
Running straight towards the Shuckle as if it was a football, the burning power of dragon rush was channelled into the gabite's foot, sending the Shuckle flying over the badlands, and leaving the dragons to high five one another for a victory well earned.
