Takhi Gym The gym itself is built into the mountains. It's quite easy to find in the small town, as it is the largest building. The outside of the gym is only the front part. Two large icy blue pillars stand on the corners, the gym badge is enlarged and at the top of each. The doors are normally open, unless Brook is out catching or training. As you step inside, you'll feel a chill of air. Instead of being met with a battle arena, you are met with five, long and icy hallways. It normally takes 15 minutes for each person to get through, less if you run. But running on ice is not recommended. Each of them lead to a different area in the gym. Every now and then, Brook will change up the hallways and where they lead. It's most likely that if you come a second time, the paths will change. Considering the entire gym is made of ice, it is easy to revamp. There are five possible places you will end up. The first, and best, is the actual battle arena. The arena is quite large with a high roof. Icicles hang from the top, ready to drop at any given time if there is too much action or heat. There's icicles that are sticking up from the icy ground as well, posing as annoyance. They are not large icicles, however, they are large enough that if they would to fall onto a Pokemon it would cause damage equal to 1 Icicle Spear hitting. It's a pretty simple battle field, but those who are experienced on ice can have a hard time. Even the Trainer. The small lined box for the Trainer is iced as well. Watch your step. The second, annoying path, may lead to a dead end. There's a sign that simply says "Dead End, Turn Back and Try Again." There goes 15 or less minutes of your day. The third, and worst path, leads to a dead end. But not just any dead end. If the challenger makes it to this dead end the are in for a surprise. After about 10 seconds or less, the ground will collapse beneath them and tosses them in the basement, which is also iced over. You will fall into a large snowpile with a open door, leading to a stair case. Beside the door, a sign says "Haha." Once you take the stairs you'll be lead to the battle arena. The fourth, probably most annoying path, leads the challenger in a circle. It feels never ending, no one can tell how long they've been walking without a watch of some sorts. This path leads all around the other hallways, bringing the challenger right back to the main area where they have to pick all over again. A great waste of time. The fifth hallway leads to a small maze, filled with icy mirrors. There is no room above head for a Pokemon to scout ahead, the challenger will simply have to go through themselves. While it isn't a difficult maze, the mirrors can cause confusion for the challenger and mess with their sense of direction. Eventually, the challenger will come across a fork in the road. It is a 50/50 chance of going through to the main area or they'll be sent right back to the beginning of the maze, having to go through the time and effort to get to the fork and go the other way, which leads to the main battle arena. Battle Rules The rules are simple. The battle will be a 4v4 double battle with no substitutions. The first to knock out all of the opposing's Pokemon wins. |
