APPEARANCE
People say that Brook fits his Gym type. But he doesn't know where people get it from. He isn't the tallest or shortest of guys, he's only about 5'8. However, he appears thinner than he should be. But he is just about average weight for his size, coming in around 133lbs. This is mostly because he's so tied up in his Gym work that he just forgets to eat. His Pokemon typically nag him to start ending something by the end of the day. He claims it isn't his fault that he looks like that, but his Pokemon know better.
His skin isn't exactly pale, but you can tell that he doesn't get much sun. It's mostly because he spent his entire life in Snowbelle City and Anatase Town. Brook isn't one that hates the sun though. But he tries to stay away from it, simply because he can get sun burn easily. He hates visiting the other Orre towns and cities for League meetings and such. By the time he comes back from it he would have gotten a sun burn.
Brook has somewhat dark blue hair followed by light grey-blue eyes. His hair is neck length and longer on the right side. It's not uncommon for his right eye to be completely covered by his hair. Some say that his eyes change color depending on his mood. However, Brook doesn't see where people get that idea. But he's been told they can see a difference in color when he's in battle or in a conversation with someone.
His casual clothing is usually a white shirt under some sort of jacket and jeans. Brook is normally in this type of clothing when he's in his gym. However, sometimes you may see him in a wool jacket and ear muffs. One thing you almost never see Brook without is either ear buds or headphones. The music he listens to varies on the day.

PERSONALITY
Calm & Collected: If there's one thing that people will notice about Brook it's that he's a very calm and collected person. He has a high tolerance for people, though sometimes it's cut short of he feels the person lacks common sense or is simply acting like an idiot. If he was in a group of people that were freaking out over something, Brook would be the person who takes a step back and take a look at their current situation and try to think of a logical way out of it. He would also try to keep everyone calm so he could hear his own thoughts. There isn't much that can actually cause Brook to be angered, but when he is it can be intimidating. He's one one of those types that will get up in your face and punch you, it's worse than that. He will beat you without a word with a grin or a smirk on his face. Brook would beat a person in a battle, or even in a fist fight, and walk away as if it was nothing. A silent ass kicker, as one may say.
Reserved: At first, Brook would appear as introvert to someone. He wouldn't speak up without being spoken to and tends to almost drift in and out of a conversation or group. However, this is simply because Brook would rather sit back and watch rather than engage and talk. Over the years, Brook learned that he learns much more about people and Pokemon alike by simply watching instead of talking to them. Sometimes, actions do speak louder than words and that's something that Brook tends to live by. He can learn a lot by simply watching someone for a few minutes, especially in battle. His eyes will stay locked on the field and sometimes glance at the Trainer to see how they are reacting, and that can give him a lot of information.
Naive: There's times where something simple will go over Brook's head, but it's not often and normally because he was too focused on something. However, his naive side tends to be mostly towards romance. Even though he might pick up on a flirt here and there, he'll choose to ignore it and get on with his day.
Caring & Passionate: Even though he can appear cold and distant to others, Brook is actually a very kind person. Most of his friends and co-workers understand that he's a quiet, yet very compassionate person. He treats all of his Pokemon well with respect and love and takes things slow when they get frustrated. Every one of his Pokemon holds high respect for Brook and are normally very close to him. If one would want to get close to Brook, they would would have to understand that he has a thin layer of ice and all they need to do to break it is talk to him.
Serious: While his serious side isn't something that comes out often, it's something to note about Brook. Whether it's about a gym battle, a person issue or a serious situation Brook can easily focus his attention where it needs to be. He can become a completely different person when he's in battle or placed in a bad situation. Because of his calm nature, Brook can easily clear his mind and begin thinking of ways to deal with the situation he's in.

He can't count how many times someone has had to go up to him and tell him they wanted a challenge. Because of that Brook installed an alarm in the gym that notified him whenever someone entered.

HISTORY
Brook was born and raised in Snowbelle City, Kalos. At first, he hated the snow. It was too cold for his liking. His mother would always roll her eyes at him and say that he would get used to it. At the age of three, his parents had gotten a divorce and his father moved to Lumiose City to pursuit his career as a CEO in the PR Video Studies. He didn't fully understand why they had gotten a divorce either. From what he saw, they had always gotten along with each other. When he turned seven, he finally had asked his mother what the real reason was. She had sighed and told him. His mother and father had finally had their last fight. With his job offer, he wanted to move to Lumiose and she wanted to stay in her home city. The two had mutually agreed that they just didn't see eye to eye anymore, as he wanted to continue his job and she wanted to focus more on the family. By then, Brook finally understood. But he felt a little abandoned by his father that he cared more about his job than his family. His mother understood and said that's why things just weren't working out anymore. However, his father comes back for most special occasions and birthdays. It made Brook feel a bit better, but he still knew what kind of a man his father was.
When he was placed in Pokemon school, he had a hard time trying to learn about everything. However, that was when he found that he learned the best from watching. He watched the small battles between students with their rental Pokemon and watched as many battles as he could on the television. By the time the end of the school year rolled around, he was one of the highest ranking students in the school. The teachers said that he had great potential and he took great pride in that.
Once he turned ten, he was given a Pokemon by both his mother and father. The Pokemon he was given as a female Eevee, one that he instantly grew close to. One day, while they were playing around in the snow, the two had stumbled near the Snowbelle's Gym. The leader, Wulfric, was taking a challenger that day. Needless to say, Brook and his Eevee, who he had named Aura, sneaked into the gym and watched the battle. That was when Brook knew what he wanted to do. When he saw the battle take place between Wulfric and the challenger, his eyes grew big. Aura had seemed very interested as well as she watched Wulfric's Ice Pokemon battle. They were powerful and graceful, a combination they had never seen before. However, before the battle ended, his mother had found him in the gym and dragged him back home. He never did see the end of that battle.
When he had gotten home, he told his mother what he wanted to do. He wanted to be a Gym Leader, just like Wulfric. Specializing in Ice types. His mother smiled at him and told him if that's what he wanted to do, then so be it. Over the years, and after training a bit and gaining some new Pokemon, he wanted to see if he could beat Wulfric in a battle. Long story short, it did not end well. He was easily beaten by Wulfric and his Pokemon were no match. However, this ignited something in Brook.
By the time he turned sixteen he told his mother he was going off to train in Orre and other regions. Even though she was reluctant at first, she had finally given up on keeping him home forever and let him go. Over the course of three years, he had claimed a spot in the Orre gyms. Though, he had only been Gym Leader for two years. However, he is one of the most respected due to his young age and his Pokemon's abilities. Brook took the same position that Wulfric had, the Ice type leader. Now, he set his sights even higher. He aims to take down the other Orre Leaders to prove to himself and others that he is the strongest Orre Leader out there.
