Amber wasn't sure whether or not this was real. Not only did her step brother end up texting her to come to Orre, but he had called her to... this place? She stood in her jacket outside of a bar in The Under. It had taken her a while to get to Orre, but she had finally made it to the region. She found it odd that Danny had wanted to meet her here. She had to wonder if she was even allowed onto the bar, considering her age. However, she decided to let that little detail slide as she opened the door to the bar. Her head popped in and she looked around. No one was around, but she did hear voices in the back. Amber took the step in and closed the door behind her, keeping her hands in her jacket pockets. The place had a weird vibe going on. She couldn't put her finger on it, but the vibe wasn't normal. Was that perfume she smelled? What sort of bar was this? And why would Danny call her out to here?
Whatever the reason was, Amber was still excited to see her step-brother again. It had been well over a year or so since she had seen him since she returned to Hoenn. She didn't stay home for long either, she had left only a month after she had gotten home. Though, Amber couldn't blame him. He wasn't one to sit around and sit still while she had all the fun. Now she excited. However, she couldn't find her pesky step-sibling anywhere. She held up her hand to her mouth and called out through the bar. "Danny? You there?" Amber called out to the back. Maybe he could explain some of this.

Description: There's no shortage of bars in The Under, but one in particular is in need of some help since half their staff quit due to an overbearing boss. They need someone who can tend to the bar and help fix drinks, or someone who can help keep the place clean. The owner would even be willing to hire a bouncer for the night - he's really just desperate for help.
Notes: Any little aspects that need to be noted.

It was still early enough in the day for the bar to have a lazy, gentle wave of people bumping inside, each minding their own business and enjoying the lax atmosphere inside the joint. The bar owner was known for being overly critical their staff, but out of sheer desperation, they were willing to accept even the most ridiculous help out there. Amber's call did not go unnoticed, and from behind the bar, a pair of cat ears popped up. Of course, we aren't talking real cat ears, but they looked pretty attached to his head as he grinned with glee. "Sis, you made it." Cleaning up behind the bar took only but a few minutes, and soon he was bouncing towards her with the radiance and joy of a million angels.
"Amber, nyaa! Welcome home, nyaster~!" Big. Poofy. Frilly. Maid outfit. It hugged his waist with a mother's soft love, frills blowing kisses at his skin as he skipped towards his precious younger sister. "Give your big brother a hug, or he'll be so so sad. He'll even cry on the spot!" Waving his arms towards Amber's shoulders, he tried not to laugh at whatever expression she was going to pull off. He even expected her to give him a good whack, possibly disowning him for a year all because of the surprise meet-up.
The sweetly exaggerated joy of being reunited was quickly stamped out of business when a big-boned, busty woman lifted her head from one of the booths. "Oi. You here to eat, or just here to greet?" The get-down-to-business tone sent pinpricks up and down Danny's back, but he didn't mind it at all. "Sheryl, this is my sister Amber. She's practically a dragon master, at least back in Hoenn. I was hoping to show her your spectacular bar's Costume Night, but..." His voice trailed off as he glanced towards Sheryl, twitching at that knowing look in her eyes. She knew what she did, that manipulative scumbag.
"Purposely mopping the floor right next to me, making me drop my dishes...that's too cruel! Forced labor is not ok, Sheryl." He stuck out a sour tongue, scorning his situation until he managed to pay off this irritating debt. It wasn't as if he didn't understand though--this bar owner had a reputation for scaring off her staff, and for one of the busiest nights of the month, she sure needed staff right about now.

She heard her step-brothers voice call from behind the wall. Amber took a step forward and smiled as she walked around. "Danny! I can't believe we're together ag---" her jaw stayed open and her expression froze. There was Danny. Her nineteen year old step-sibling... in a maids outfit. Her jaw was still dropped, frozen in mid sentence as he welcomed her home as a 'master' and made some weird cat noises. He came up to her and waved his arms around her shoulders, begging for a hug. She closed her jaw and let her arms drop to her side, her face was hidden by her bangs dropping in front of her face. And then she lost it.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She screamed, her face filled with embarrassment and anger. Not only was her step-bro in a maids outfit, but she was almost ashamed to say that he was half related related to her. Her hands balled into fists and she raised one up to meet his face and stared at him angrily. "You have five minutes to explain what you're doing in that ridiculous maid outfit." She said, only returning to a neutral expression when she heard a female's voice from behind the counter as well. The women, who introduced herself as Sheryl, glanced up at Amber.
Amber returned the stare with a "WTF" kinda face before turning back to Danny. Her expression softened, but she still wanted answers. "Danny, what are you doing? Can I not leave you alone for like ten days before you completely mess something up?" She asked, a heavy sigh escaping her mouth and a hand hiding her face. If she wasn't confused and slightly mad, she would have just laughed at him. Well, she wasn't exactly mad. More so embarrassed. When people asked "Oh, what kinda of step-brother is he?" she didn't want to answer with "Someone who cross dresses". That was just not a good impression at all. But only Danny could do stuff like that and just roll with it. But then she put two and two together and slapped both hands over her face. "Don't tell me you work here..." Amber said, peeking out at him through her fingers.

Based on her initial reaction, he almost felt bad for surprising her the way he did. A cute little angel named 'Ego' told him not to fret, seeing how Amber should've been used to his antics at this point. Indeed, he had no reason to feel bad at all. In fact, it was Amber's fault for being mad at this beauty of a blossomed flower. "Oh, come on. No hug? Really? I'm extra huggable and loveable today." If he had a feather duster, he would've sprinkled the feathers against her nose right about now. At least he was tamed and constrained in some form, but even that was too much for Amber at the moment. "Ridiculous maid outfit? Hey, I look cute. You wish you could look as cute as me in this." As if the prove a point, he twirled around to show off the way the frills bobbed and swayed against his skinny hips.
"You know, you're sort of implying that you're able to keep me out of trouble when we're together. I'm like a wildfire, Amber. I just can't be tamed when I'm in heat! Except this time it wasn't even my fault, dammit Sheryl." Glee at his sister's appearance was quickly turned to more whining, stomping his foot down because there was literally nothing he could do about it.
"I considered just running away but...she's strong. And technically I do owe her for the dishes." He sighed, frowning as she returned with another question. "Oh, yeah. I work here. I didn't plan on working here, but I do have to pay it off. That shouldn't stop you from socializing and enjoying yourself though! Oh, no no. It'll be fun! Karaoke, costumes, incredible milkshakes...there's something for you, despite it being a bar, ya know?" Ideally he wouldn't normally take his sister out to bars, but he figured that this one wasn't so bad. The people in The Under knew how to party, from what the rumors said at least.
Sheryl started to stand up, getting fed up with Danny's constant socializing when there was work to be done. "Boy, don't forget to mop the floors. The supplies you need are in the kitchen closet, and don't you dare forget the sign. I don't be having you cause any accidents with my regulars, ye' hear?" The skin around her eyes wrinkled tight as she lifted up her head, signaling an alpha-like position within the group. This was her place, with her workers, working by her rules. That was it.
"Yes ma'am! On it!" With a salute, Danny sped off into the kitchen to get the needed supplies. Seeing how the crowd right now was pretty thin, this was a great time to clean up a little before people reaaaally packed up the place.

The young dragon tamer glared at her step-brother. "I'd rather not hug you in that outfit. It'd make me feel awkward." She said in a flat, unamused tune of voice. As much as she enjoyed traveling with him a few years ago, he was a huge handful. He would do crazy shit like this almost all the time, and it was up to her to make sure he didn't have the police force after him. Amber rolled her eyes as Danny showed off his outfit. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. He was right though. She really couldn't control him, no matter how hard she tried. He was like one of those free spirited type of people. All she was was his baby sitter half of the time. And she was the older one. Shouldn't it have been the other way around?
As Danny explained how he got himself in this place, Amber couldn't help but face palm and drag her hand down to stare at her brother. "You've got to be kidding me..." Amber said through her palm. "You just can't keep out of trouble, can you?" Shaking her head, Amber looked at Sheryl. And what a mistake that was. The woman was sizing her up, her eyes scanning her up and down. Amber self consciously tightened her arms around her and followed Danny into the kitchen, whether she was invited or not. She leaned in close to Danny, almost ignoring half of the things he was saying and whispered. "Hey... what's she doing over there? She was like... sizing me up or something." She asked, her eyes darting over to Sheryl through the door and back at Danny.
Suddenly, Sheryl disappeared into the back and Amber pulled back. This place was super odd, she wasn't sure how Danny actually ended up in Orre but the place fit him oddly enough. Except the outfit, he could do without that. She was about to say something else when suddenly her vision went black and she screamed. Her arms flailed as something was placed over her. What kinda bar was this? Was this Sheryl like a kidnapper or something? However, as she struggled more, her head popped out and she held out her arms in shock. "What the hell?" She said, as she turned and saw her reflection in one of the machines.
"DANNY!" She screamed as she quickly turned around and met Danny face to face in a... Glameow costume. The costume fit her perfectly. Her hands were covered in mittens disguised as paws and her head had large ears on her. Amber turned around and noticed that there was a... thing on her butt? Wait that wasn't a thing. Her eyes widened as she grabbed the tail behind her and dropped it. She glared over at Sheryl, who was standing back and rubbing her chin. "Hmmm... I think it looks good. Danny boy, make sure your sister stays for the night. She'll bring in costumers." And with that she walked out, without allowing Amber a chance to maul her.
Slowly, Amber turned on her feet to meet Danny. Her hands were balled into fists. However, it was hard to take her seriously in a full body Glameow costume. "Danny..." She said in a low tone of voice. Her teeth gritted against one another as she held up her hand, or paw. "Remind me to never meet up with you unless I get to pick the place, now HELP ME OUT OF THIS!" She yelled, stomping her feet and straigtening her arms to her side. She was not happy or amused.

Sigh, his adorable little sister always rejected him when he decided to make life more interesting. It was true that him and trouble were like Plusle and Minun, it wasn't always intentional on his part. He thought of himself as 'trouble-prone', which was something that was far out of his control at this point. It must've been bound tightly into his fate, making it something impossible to even fight or contain. A happy curse for him, but it was nothing but torture for Amber. He missed Sheryl's intense stare as his thoughts were intent on getting the current job done, pausing to look around the kitchen to even find the mentioned closet. Eyes widened once he found it hiding behind a 'Beware of Dog sign, somehow implying that there was a dog in the closet. Weird, but ok. Armed with a mop and bucket, he struggled to carry them without messing up his frills. "Sizing you up? Please don't tell me she's checking you out. I mean, I could see her being a lesbian, but--" Oh god, his sister was kidnapped.
His sister was kidnapped and now he could hear muffled sounds of protest; whether it was out of fury or fear, he couldn't tell. As he grasped at the mop's handle, terror pricked at his feet whenever he tried to investigate. He had an idea of what was going on in there; hell, something very similar happened to him when she wanted him to wear the maid outfit, but it wasn't nearly this forceful. Once it was all over, his ears cringed and weeped once Amber shouted his name. "Sheryl...why? She's just gonna take it out on me." He whined even harder at Sheryl's request, but there was no helping it. The boss lady was gone, and if they messed up, she was going to beat the crap out of him. Yes, him. Not Amber. Him.
"B-But...but...but...but?" Speaking of Amber, she was probably as happy as a wet cat right now. With his attention solely focused on the realistic sibling's comfort, he tried making the best of the situation with a laugh. "You look pawsitively purrfect though! If I had to be honest, you are 100% the cat's meow!" He grinned, pretending to paw at her cheek in jest. Shame she wanted to take the outfit off, but he just couldn't let that happen. Either way, Sheryl or Amber were going to beat him up, but he could take on Amber any day. Big woman like Sheryl, an Under native? Wow, no. No way. That was death with a side of more death. "C'mon, might as well make the most of it. Lower the face part a little bit, and no one will even recognize you. See? It's not even a problem." Glancing towards the mirror to make a point, he tried tugging at the Glameow's upper lip to hide more of her face. Probably made things harder to see, but at least it was less embarrassing for her.
"It's about 4:45 right now, but I hear the crowd starts coming in at 5. It only gets worse from there, so you might as well prepare yourself." It was a big night after all, and while he didn't entirely know what to expect from this place, he knew what happened when you combined costumes and alcohol. It was probably a good idea to make sure nothing terrible happened to Amber while she was in the suit. At the very least, it hid her gender, but Glameow was an awfully feminine looking Pokemon to start with. Sexual harassment wasn't something he wanted her exposed to, but if it happened, he knew heads would roll.

Amber somehow managed to not attack Danny as he spat out puns and half-hearted complements. "I swear, Danny. If I get tangled up in your messes again I'm sicking both Fang AND Theseus on you." She said through grinding teeth. She knew for a fact that Fang would have loved that. Theseus would have just followed any order she gave. She had a whole team of Dragon types just ready and waiting to get Danny if she wanted to. And there were many, many times where she wanted to release them all. However, she somehow had some self restraint and didn't. But she was almost at her limits now.
She turned towards the mirror as Danny pulled down the mouth part of the Glameow suit. Her face simply stayed angered and she stared at herself in the mirror. "It looks worse now." She said plainly. The mouth was covering half of her eyesight, the fur was tickling her nose and the actual head of the suit weighed her down. Whoever was stuck with this job before had every right to quit. They probably didn't even get paid that well. She turned towards Danny quickly on her heels, causing the mouth to shut completely on her. Amber huffed and shoved the head back up and she stared at Danny with the fire to kill in her eyes. It wasn't that she was worried about being recognized by anyone. It was the place that she was worried about, that and HOW she was dragged into this. It was a bar. A bar was no place for a sixteen year old. And if anything happened to her, then mother would be all over Danny's ass. As well as her own Pokemon.
Turning back to the mirror, Amber sighed as the head fell back down. She could barely see through it, but she assumed all she had to do was stand outside and bring in costumers. Swiftly turning to Danny, she held up a fist. "If anything happens to me while I do this... stupid mascot thing, then you know EXACTLY what is going to happen." Amber said through gritted teeth. How she hated getting caught up in Danny's messes, but she apparently had no other choice by now. Danny wasn't trying to help her out of this, and she wasn't going anywhere either it seemed. However, her threat wasn't as intimidating through a full body Glameow suit.
She walked out of the kitchen, her curly tail dragged behind her. Amber saw Sheryl cleaning off the counter as she made eye contact with her. Well, the Glameow's eyes made contact with her. "I better get paid good for this." She said before she tramped her way to the door. Sheryl simply waved her hand and glanced back towards the kitchen door. "You better get ready, doors open in five. And make sure your sister knows how to move it too." She said before heading into her own office to bossly things.

"Two against one? Why would you do such a thing to me?" The whining never stopped as he sluggishly started giving the floor a proper mopping job, seeing how Sheryl purposely mucked it up in order to get the extra hands on deck. Suds mixed with the warm water, creating a mushy, bubbly fluid that sparked the colors of oil in the rain, but the beauty of it all was lost due to the 'work is gross' mindset. His thoughts drifted over to Fang and Theseus, seeing how it had been ages and ages since he saw either of them, and he was pretty sure that Theseus was at least a Shelgon when he last saw it. Amber was a tough enough trainer though, and surely by now, Theseus could've been strong enough to evolve yet again. And here he thought Theseus was as harmless as a Metapod, but if he grew a big pair of chompers, then he did not want those chompers on his behind. "Yes, yes dear sister. Nothing will happen." He gulped, "I hope."
Deciding that it would be best to avoid Amber as much as possible, he started making large, brushing motions across the room. The mop drizzled out a water park, but gosh, by the time he scrubbed the floor down, it was looking awfully sparkly. The only issue was that it was potentially too clean, making slips a nasty hazard. Hm, that was kind of an issue. At least time went by fast enough to give it time to dry, but as Sheryl gave her 5 minute warning, he started fidgeting in his spot. "Ugh, I can't stay still for this. This is too unreasonable." Crossing his arms, he glanced over to Amber. Just why did he have to give her a run-down of the place? Sheryl was the boss, so she should've been responsible for the things her workers knew. Praying and hoping that Amber had enough time to cool off, he sucked it up and slipped beside her.
"So, I guess it's up to us to get people settled in. Unless we get last second help, there's only three of us. Thankfully, Sheryl's got the cooking covered, because we all know I can't cook, and I'm pretty sure that suit of yours is a fire hazard, so no." Actually, the safest place for Amber was probably the kitchen since it was as far away from the Under's crowd as possible, but he sensed that putting the only girls in the kitchen was in incredibly bad taste. But this was no time for sexist jokes--it was time for people to come in, eat, drink, and party! "Do you want to greet people and get them settled down? You could also stand outside and try to get them to come in, but if it gets too crowded in here, come back in." His mind was starting to panic as he glanced towards the time, hating the very fact that deadlines were a thing. Time only existed to make people anxious, he reasoned with a pitiable sigh.
"Naturally, I'll be tending people's orders at the bar! Servant Danny, at your beck and call, nyaan~" Last second joke for the win, though he doubted it was going to be winning any smiles from the already irritated girl. Seconds clicked loudly on the clock until it chimed at 5, signalling the start of the event. That was great, except as of now, no one was coming in. Then again, Danny figured that they wouldn't be running inside right on the dot, so it wasn't that surprising.

She wanted to go at it at Danny's throat. But she decided against it, since they were in a public area. Amber muttered under her breath as she headed out the main doors, pulling her tail after it got caught in between them. Turning around, she pulled the mouth piece down and growled under her breath. The things she did for Danny sometimes. She swore that she would do more for Danny than she would a boyfriend. But... she had to consider. He was there for her when her mother had pulled her out of Unova and got remarried, rather quickly too. At the time, she was quiet and reserved. But her step-brother managed to pull her out of her shell, and now she passed him in terms of training. That was something she was proud of.
Before she could put more thought into it, she noticed people walking by and staring at her. She tensed up, hoping no one realized that she was under the Glameow costume. She raised her paw and moved towards the door, making Glameow noises to try and entice people in. However, she didn't get the best result. For her, anyway.
Most of the people that walked in were older males, probably early 20s or later. They whistled at Amber and her eye twitched inside. "Don't even think about it bub..." She muttered under her breathe as she kept motioning towards the door. She felt stupid. Some of them tried to hit on her, which she gave a whack on their hand and purred in an annoyed tone of voice. They rubbed their hand and carefully walked in the bar, trying to avoid the Glameow out front. She had to wonder how long she had to do this... boy, did Danny owe her.

"For some reason, I'm attracted to you." A voice dense with muffled masculinity huffed in Danny's ears, causing him to shudder at the sudden breach of personal space. With a playful wiggle of his hips, Danny turned to meet a man in a gorilla suit eye to eye. "Sir, I'm taking orders from another customer right now. Your pawcience and purroperation is appreciated, nyaa." Licking his thumb, his fingers twiddled between the pages on his notepad. There was no way he was going to vividly recall each detail in a person's order, leaving him little choice but to hastily jot down orders over the roar of the incoming crowd. Amber was doing a decent enough job bringing people in, but he couldn't say that he agreed with the type of people she was attracting.
The regulars came in wearing an eccentric display of costumes, flashing feathers, glitter, arms engulfed in tattoos, and hair styles that looked as if they could impale a person. While they were a bit loud, both in personality and appearance, he didn't mind them as much as the the guys that smirked whenever Amber turned her head away. Secretive, predatory smiles failed to restrain their amusement as one of them attempted to bump into her; a scene that Danny caught a glimpse at through the front window. "Watch it, pussy cat." The teen sneered with sagged shoulders, hardly intimidated by a girl in that get-up.
His ears couldn't pick up on what was going on, but he didn't like what he saw. Naturally there was a way to prevent this from escalating, but was Amber really going to let that go? He doubted it. "Hey, lady. Can I get a menu over here?" A woman barked from the back, snapping Danny out of his daze. "U-Uh, sure. Yes! Coming right up, mistress." He hummed, feigning a smile as he frantically rushed through his duties.

Amber had lost count of the hours she was outside. She wasn't sure how long she had been out there, but judging by all the creepers and weird looks she was getting from normal people she had safely assumed it had been at least three hours. There had been a few guys who simply pushed her aside and walked in. She shot them a death glare from under her costume and almost hissed at them. If only she could have sent one of her Pokemon after that asshole. She wasn't sure how much more of this torture she could handle. But one thing was for sure. She demanded some good pay out of this.
As the sun would begin to set and the costumers inside began to leave, Amber took it as her cue to get inside. As she entered the bar, she pulled back the mouth piece and breathed heavily. The costume was extremely hot and muggy inside, especially for being out in that weather for so long. Her hair was sweaty and her forehead was soaked. She pulled off the costume and let it drop to the floor, not even caring what happened to it after she took it off. Amber glared at it at her feet and kicked it away as she entered into the kitchen. The AC kicked in and she leaned against one of the walls, being thankful that cold air was being blown against her. Once she gathered her bearings, she stuck her head out at Danny and motioned for him to come in. She looked around for that boss lady, but she wasn't in sight.
Instead of waiting for Danny to come to her, Amber walked out with her bag back on her shoulder and her arms crossed. "I better get paid good for this. And you owe me big time, I hope you know that." She said with a blank face. The amount of shit she did for Danny sometimes was amazing. However, deep down she knew that he always meant well. Even though his actions were a bit... out of the ordinary, he really did mean well. He was her step-brother after all. And they were pretty close after their parents had married. But once Amber had split for her journey the two had distanced a bit. When Danny had told her he was in Orre she jumped at the chance to see her step-brother again. However, she wished it was under better conditions. She sighed and her expression softened as she looked up and punched him in the shoulder. Playfully, but somewhat hard. "Next time we meet, let's make sure I'm not the one stuck in a stupid costume." Amber said with a smirk.

Whatever was going on out there, it seemed to resolve itself, leaving Danny to focus on the various customers that demanded his attention. There was an awful lot of people in here for a place that was severely understaffed, but somehow Amber and Danny managed to keep Sheryl's business thriving. Right when his night started to smoothly sail, he felt Sheryl's strong grip clutch at his shoulder as a mop and plunger was forced into his hands. "Clogged up toilet in stall 3. Daniel, you're up." She grunted, shoving him off towards the stalls with an encouraging shove, completely lacking sympathy for his internal struggle. Toilets? He never had to clean public toilets before. This couldn't be happening. "S-S-S-S-Sheryl, please. Have mercy. I'm uh, I'm handling the food. You can't do this to me! It's unsanitary. Spare me. Take my sister instead!" Thank goodness Amber was outside as this was happening, otherwise he would've been getting some nasty looks right about now.
Sheryl's lack of a response was the only answer he had, leaving him to stand pitifully outside of the family bathroom, experiencing sheer terror at what could be inside. His slumped shoulders sluggishly began to function, inching him closer to the door until he was brave enough to peek inside. The vivid sensory attack of sight and smell was enough to make him slam the door shut, but it didn't change the fact that he still had to suck it up and get'er done. Why did he have to do something so disgusting? Why couldn't someone else do it in his stead? Whimpering as his trembling hand rested against the door, he sucked in as much clean as he could before diving into that disaster of a job. It took some time, but he managed to do it, suffering only from the repugnant stench that followed him wherever he went. It sure kept people's unwanted hands off of him, despite his nonstop attempts at washing his hands and face whenever Sheryl wasn't looking.
At this rate, he was considering rubbing himself with dish washer soap just to smell slightly more pleasant than before. "Please, I just want this night to end." He whined with a tired slump, practically worshiping the retro looking Chatot clock whenever he wasn't preoccupied with someone else. Thankfully the customers were starting to leave, and Danny had more time to rest at the bar until everyone was ready to pay their dues. Right as he was ready to sneak a drink when no one was looking, Amber walked right in, motioning him towards the kitchen as if he had nothing better to do. Damn her and her miserable sense of timing, he snorted, kicking himself off the spinny chair as his legs dragged him to the kitchen. This wasn't going to be a pleasant talk, and he knew it.
"I don't see why it's such a problem. I mean, you are getting paid. Can't we just say I owe you a little bit because you still earned some money, and leave it at that?" She probably wasn't going to agree to that, but reasoning with her was worth a shot. "Ha. Knowing your luck, you'll probably experience something way worse than a costume." He threw a look at her sweat filled costume and had to laugh. Poor girl was probably dying out there in that blasted heat, regardless of whether they were underground or not. It was an awfully heavy costume after all, and even he was glad not to be stuck in that garb.
"Ugh. Our shift is almost over. Where's Sheryl anyways? I want to get paid and leave as soon as possible." The energy wasted on this ridiculous night was finally tolling on his nerves, and he really just wanted to snuggle up in bed with the largest pillow fort possible. The sooner that happened, the sooner he would be a happier man.

If I fall back down
you're gonna help me back
---upagain*
Don't worry about me, I'm gonna make it alright Got my enemies crossed out in my sight I take a bad situation gonna make it right In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light You see it's our style to keep it true I've had a bad year, a lot to go through I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She's not the one coming back for you She's not the one coming back for you*
She gave her step-brother a deathly glare. One that she only really used on him. "Trying to talk your way out of trouble again, are we?" Amber said, glancing over her shoulder. "If anything else did happen to me you know mom would be on your tail.~" She said, smirking as she looked at Danny. Ah her mother. As strict as she was, she was getting better. However, she never let up on Danny. Heh, Amber had to admit. It was funny seeing him being punished by mowing the lawn or doing some stupid chore around the house.
Wiping the sweat off her brow again, she sat down on the kitchen floor and leaned against the wall. Out of all the trouble that he had gotten in, it had to be one that required physical activity. "Dammit, Danny. Couldn't you have gotten a job at a candy store or something instead." Amber said, closing her eyes as she leaned back. However, there was a playful tone in her voice as she peeked one eye open. Her step-brother was crazy. That's all there was. However, she enjoyed it. Secretly, of course. She wouldn't be able to tell him that. After all, she spend almost half her childhood with him. He helped her grow into who she was today. And even though he could be serious when he wanted to (which was a rare sight to see) some things simply went over his head. So Amber didn't even bother trying to say anything.
As she was standing up, the door flew open and Sheryl walked in. "Here." She said simply, sliding two envelopes across the kitchen counter to Amber and Danny. Amber caught hers as it flew towards her and opened it as Sheryl left. The pay was decent, but not enough for what she had to go through today. She considered yelling back at her, but decided it just wasn't worth it. Instead, she shoved the check in her bag and placed it on her shoulder. Glancing over at Danny, she couldn't help but smirk. "Now that we're done with this, how about you tell me the real reason you're in Orre traveling again." Amber said as she leaned against the wall again.
The bar most likely wouldn't fully close for a bit, so they had some time before to simply talk. "I didn't come all the way out here just to get in a Glameow suit you know." Amber said. She had to wonder what other sort of trouble he had gotten in to since the last time she saw him. Knowing Danny though, it was probably a lot. They had a lot of catching up to do, and his stories were probably too long to fit in an IM or email. And they were more interesting to hear in person.

Yikes. Sissy sure knew how to put her game face when the wrong thing was said. Pretending that he wasn't phased by the boundary setting glare, he shook the stiffness out of his shoulders as he relaxed against the kitchen counter. Nothing was an issue as long as he didn't turn it into an issue, and if he pretended that it wasn't an issue, maybe he could sweep everything under the rug even faster. "What mom doesn't know..." Naturally she was playing that card. Using their parents against each other was one of the most brutal ways to get under the other's skin, and neither were above dragging someone's reputation straight into the grave if things got out of hand. "You think Orre has candy shops just lying around the place? Nothing about it screams 'child entertainment'. It's mostly angry old people here and weird party lovers raving it up." That last part was especially true after the crap this job put him through, giving them both the true Orre experience, even if it was kind of sucky. "And then there's whatever we are." Not that he'd say it now, but Amber was approaching the 'angry old people' level. "Trainers, cool kids, uh...people with great hair. Yeah, we're in that category." He had to laugh at his own wit, even if no one else was around that was willing to laugh with him.
He couldn't tell what was going through her mind, but judging from the way she closed her eyes, she was thinking back on something. It could've been about anything, and he was a little too much of a chicken to pry into it. Sheryl broke the silence between the two by barging in with the ever so beautiful check, rewarding them for the night's efforts. "Thanks Sheryl. Heh, let's test your generosity and--" Tearing open the envelope with his teeth, his starving, greedy hands fumbled for whatever dots they could grasp. Unfortunately, there was barely anything inside. Amber didn't look so thrilled about the pay either, and he had to assume that they were paid about the same for this job. "Is everyone in Orre this stingy? Seriously? I conquered bathroom hell, endured harassment, carried dishes, and you don't even want to know the things people whispered in my ears!" Oh, how he shuddered at the recollection. Horrible, horrible things were said to him that night thanks to his eye-catching outfit.
Amber went through her share of hell too though, and it was his fault that she was even dragged down to his level. He swiped away an itch on his nose as she started to get curious about his true intentions, and it wasn't as if he had some super shady, super cool goal, but there was a reason why Orre was his first stop. "It's no secret that you're training your butt off in Orre, so is it really that strange that I'd try to visit you? Besides, Orre is pretty close to Hoenn. It'd be a crime not to visit you at least once." Ain't that the truth. Hopping up on the counter for a makeshift seat, he made himself comfy as he leaned against the wall for support. "I've been done with High School, you know? So it's about time that I see the world for myself. You're lucky that you were able to travel so early. Dad always had it out for me." It wasn't as if he couldn't understand why his dad was so strict, but the strange part was how lenient he was with Amber. All he could do was guess that it had to do with being her step-dad, and not her real father, so maybe he felt out of place when it came to scolding her. That, and it didn't help that Amber had all of the maturity. As much as it sucked, his parents just plain trusted her judgment over his own. "After this though, I want to see the big cities for myself. I'll probably leave once I get my fill of the place." The more his mouth blabbed on, the more he began to sweat in this heavy, fluffy maid outfit. Even in the glorious AC, the bulk of the costume managed to get to him.

I'VE GOT THE GUTS TO SAY ANYTHING
SHE HAD TO SNICKER AT DANNY. She glanced over at him. "Working at a candy shop would mean the end of me. The LAST thing you need is sugar, and working in a shop like that only gives you temptations. Do I have to remind you of that Halloween like... three years ago?" Amber said, tilting her head as she stared at Danny. That Halloween was something to remember. Even though she couldn't exactly remember what they had dressed up as, she did remember the following week of Danny literally bouncing off the walls. Well, she did suggest it. Her bad, then. Whoops. She crossed her arms, waving the check around. "At least I know how to control myself with sweets." Alright, that was somewhat of a lie. She did over do it sometimes, but it wasn't bad.
Amber blinked and shrugged. "I can't say, I've only been here for like five days." She explained. That was barely enough time to see one town or city. Orre was a very nice region, but something about Hoenn just made her miss her home region. She pocketed the check and shrugged again. "I think I'm going to head back to Hoenn soon." Amber said, her eyes focusing on her feet as she shifted them. She had to admit, there was a bit of homesickness in her voice. Every now and then, Amber would return home or at least to Hoenn for a bit. It was refreshing. Now that Danny was out and traveling now though, her stays at home wouldn't be so long anymore.
Turning her head, she blinked at Danny as she listened. No, it wasn't surprising big step-bro would come and visit. But meeting under these conditions was... surprising. Then again, Amber figured she just shouldn't be surprised anymore. She closed her eyes and smirked, leaning her head towards Danny and winking. "Gotta catch up to little sis, Danny." She teased. Staring at his costume a bit more, Amber couldn't help but try to hide a snicker. Now that she really got a good look at him, he looked ridiculous in that costume. She pushed herself off the wall and stood before Danny, lowering her head a bit as she stared up teasningly. "You have some catching up to do, Onii-Chan." She always wanted to tease him using that word, it was amusing to her. "But first, get out of that redicluous outfit. It's almost embarrassing to say I'm kinda related to you." However, she stood up straight and hugged Danny, pulling back soon after and waving her hand. "I should get going though. We need to meet up more often, Danny. Show me some of your Pokemon next time."
