When was the last time she’d even been to the Safari Zone? Ricki couldn’t even recall what she had for breakfast this morning… Oh no, wait, she didn’t eat breakfast. She’d woken up just shortly before noon and skipped it altogether. Probably shouldn’t done that, but it was too late for that, now. There were other matters to handle for the time being and one of those matters was finding her next meal ticket. With the business up and running, a more dependable source of income was finally heading her way. Or to more accurately put, income was finally coming her and her co-worker’s way. Since one of the first jobs she took being a run through some of the Fortune Island ruins, Ricki had actually invited along a peculiar fellow she’d met a while back.
Jason Tham was a surprising individual that certainly had caught her attention. While appearing unassertive and mild-mannered, the guy was just good at hiding the ultimate layer of bad-ass-ery as far as she was concerned. He had some sort of experience; some past to him she wanted to figure out. Though, she didn’t really want to get nosy and possibly bring up uncomfortable subjects for him, she still really wanted to know. He was good at being vague, avoiding giving the whole story and seeming to be perfectly honest. He could probably be hooked up to some lie detector and pass with flying colors whilst revealing nothing to his interrogator. Well, maybe not quite, but Ricki’s imagination had entered hyper drive at this point.
While he was such a ‘bad ass’ as she described, her companion didn’t have any Pokémon or any real desire to have one thus far. So, Ricki’s venture into the Safari Zone would be a solo run. Well, solo as far as being accompanied by other humans went. At her side, a recently evolved Quilava trotted along excitedly. He’d run off ahead, before coming back to Ricki with an ever eager ramble. Cinder had almost become another Pester, but he at least had the sense to come back to Ricki when she would call and was much more controlled. He had a new body, a new strength, a new feeling, he wanted to get out there and fight, battle, show his trainer how far he’d come!
While Cinder was certainly going to get his share of the spotlight today, he wasn’t alone. A little Bulbasaur by the name of Breezy found herself accompanying the two today as well. While the Pokémon in the Safari Zone were considerably stronger than normal wild Pokémon, they also provided a great chance at training. After having owned several rare Pokémon herself, Ricki was all but eager to see what they were like out on their own in the wild as well. Her mind briefly went back to her old Absol, and then her Lapras and a faint smile made its way onto her face. This was going to be a good day, she was sure of it.
