note I approve of this plan. I approve very much. um ~ maybe the second version? Etta comes across Stell being attacked, and before she can do anything to help stell takes out the attacker.
I can feel it
in my bones
They ate lunch, and conversation turned toward topics with less gravity. Sights to be seen in Hoenn, interesting stories they had heard on their travels, and the continued antics of their Pokemon - Cleave attempting to engage Lyshra in conversation, among other things.
Stell loosened up considerably, which Etta found herself extremely relieved by. She fed Lyshra meatballs and seemed pretty charmed by Cleave.
"We made a promise when we met," Etta explained, at one point during the meal, when Eclair and Cleave had gone out on the deck. "I'm going to help him evolve into a Gallade - ostensibly so he won't be constantly mistaken for female." She laughed. "Eclair and I met him wandering around in Saffron City, and he let me catch him just for that purpose."
Of course, evolution wasn't an easy task to go about, but she was fairly sure he would evolve into a Kirlia soon. And then she would just need to work on getting a Dawn Stone, somehow . . .
Before long, dessert was being served and it was almost time to leave. They would be parting ways soon, Etta supposed. Stell wanted to get to Fortree - and Etta wasn't sure where she was headed next, at the moment. She needed to find a job of some kind, but she had been avoiding calling the firm.
She shook her head, staring down at her plate - strawberry shortcake - and then looked up at Stell. "You're headed toward Fortree, huh?"
Before they separated, Etta planned on asking her for her cell number. The first real friend she had made on her travels, and Etta didn't want to lose touch with her - something that was easy to do, when said friend was a Pokemon trainer, with goals and the will to travel. Etta knew that from experience.
