The End of an Age { EPOCH Hiatus }

Hello old and new members of EPOCH, Lyro here with an update regarding the current state of EPOCH. As some may have noticed, activity has dropped, some members have stopped coming around for a while, staff seem to be distant and it's been rather quiet as of late. This isn't because of some dramatic explosion behind the scenes, or a result of conflict in general. In fact, the current matter at hand is that as stated by many of the members I've spoken to in recent weeks, members are simply Pokemon'd-Out.

EPOCH is a site that has been going on for two plus years and as such, there have been members that have been on the site for a long time, longer than many may be used to as sites very rarely last so long. It just seems like, at this point, the members are tired and the staff has, unfortunately, reached a similar point. EPOCH requires a lot of effort from not just staff, but members as well, to sustain itself and we've come to the conclusion that it's time to give the members and staff a rest period.

I say Rest Period because while EPOCH as it stands will be closing it's doors, this will be only a temporary shut down. During this period to let everyone go off and stretch out their muses into other genres, work will still be put towards an eventual reopening of Epoch that will be called "EPOCH: Reboot", aka EPOCH v5.0. As it stands though, Murdoc ( @priest ) and myself do not have the time right now to fully dedicate ourselves to EPOCH in a way that it deserves.

With this being said though, EPOCH is not going to be set to Maintenance Mode. Instead, we are opting for a Member Log-In mode so that those who still have muse may continue to play. Current Staff are free to continue handling the Mod Summons if they so choose, but members should not expect to really see responses from this point onwards. The staff will go through the current summons in the Mod Summons to give them a proper response so that your efforts are not entirely wasted and I do apologize for the timing of this closing as I know there were some new members that had plans that this unfortunately interrupts.

You may contact me and Murdoc on Skype with any concerns and questions you have about this decision, if you do not have us on Skype, our Mailboxes are open as well. I will be checking back on the site frequently to see how any lingering members are doing, but as far as site maintenance and staff work goes, at the time being, I, and most staff, will not be tackling these things any longer. When EPOCH: Reboot is completed, all current members will be notified as quickly as possible so you may resume any and all plots on there.
