APPEARANCE
- 5'4"
- White is a person who has a lot of really interesting things going on to look at him. His hair is so long and such a bright blue, its usually what draws people in first. Then they notice the bandages he keeps on the side of his face. He likes wearing whatever is most comfortable while also being convenient for whatever area he's passing through. Its a shame he doesn't care more about his appearance, because if he cleaned up some he would be a very handsome boy despite the fact he keeps half of his face covered up. His one eye is bright blue, to match the rest of him. He doesn't like useless accessories, but will occasionally put some type of earring in or wear a necklace. Both of these things are rare for him to do, though.
- White has some pretty intense scarring going on in both his chest and face regions. His chest has two, long, deep scars on it. Those are easy to cover up though. He is also missing his left eye, and has a lot of tissue damage around it. Its ugly and he finds a lot of people are freaked out by it,so he keeps it covered up.
PERSONALITY
- + Adaptable- White is pretty decent at finding ways to adapt to any environment or situation he's in. Most people would claim its just dumb luck, but over the years he's gotten pretty damned good at figuring certain stuff out. Just because he seems like he has these weird mental blocks sometimes doesn't mean he's always dumb.
- + Energetic- White just always seems to be overflowing with energy. He practically bounces from one place to another and rarely seems to rest. Its actually part of his mental illness, but details. Occasionally he does crash and can't seem to do anything but sleep for days, but mostly he's up to tackle just about anything life can throw at him.
- + Hardworking- If you need something done, White is the one to do it. He has a hard time focusing and quieting his mind a lot of the time, so being able to work on some task really helps him think straight. He's pretty good with his hands and has a lot of skills from basic woodworking to even a small bit of tracking, and can usually figure stuff out pretty quick as long as its nothing too complex to master. He enjoys working and won't stop until his task is completed.
- + Idealistic- White is sort of a starry-eyed young man, even if his dreams are a little screwed up. He really just wants a better world and better for himself, even if he is going about it a different way than what others might. Its not his fault his morals are screwed up, but at least he's trying. He just knows he can do great things and make people around him happy.
- + Observant- To be honest, White probably wouldn't even be alive today if he hadn't developed this skill early on. It was through watching pokemon in the wild as a kid that he even had food to eat half the time with his terrible parents. He knows when to watch for things and how to interpret them clearly, when to note absent sounds or odd smells. Just because White isn't smart by traditional means doesn't mean he's stupid, so its pretty hard to pull a fast one over him when he's really trying.
- - Moody- White's mood can change at the drop of a hat. Its mostly not his fault, since he has manic-depressive disorder. It being not his fault doesn't mean it doesn't happen, though. He can go from being happy to angry to sad in almost an instant, with his mood swings making him seem almost like a different person each time he does it.
- - Violent- White is... well... when he gets angry, he's gunna hit you. Maybe not with his fist, but he'll stab you or throw something at you. He's probably not the safest person to be around generally. He's already almost killed one man over something petty and is technically a wanted man. Plus, one of his main goals in life is the mass genocide of 'bad parents', whatever that means.
- - Childish- White generally has all the tact of a toddler. If he sees something he wants, he takes it. If he doesn't get his way, he'll puff up and get angry. He's not above throwing a tantrum over something he wants. He also has a very child-like, black and white view of the world. There is good, and there is bad. The only problem is that his moral compass is already pretty warped, so his views of good and bad are already atypical.
- - Disloyal- The only loyalty that White has is to himself. Even if he's working with someone, has been friends with someone a long time, as soon as he gets what he wants or you're not convenient anymore, he'll drop you like a hot rock. Other people are just big disappointments who will hurt you in the end anyway, and if you can't help White then he probably won't help you. There is only one person he actually cares about even a little at this point in his life, but you're sure as hell not going to know who it is. You'll just try and hurt him.
- - Uncivilized- White has spent most of his life on the fringes of society, out alone in the wilds to fend for himself. All he's has are his pokemon and a dream, so its no wonder that he doesn't exactly have the best of manners or know about a lot of social constructs. From the hand that life has dealt him, he's lucky he knows to speak and wash his ass, let alone know what to do in particular social situations. He's fine with it that way, too, so don't expect him to change it anytime soon.
Ambitions:
- He really wants to be a bird someday. Don't tell him he can't be, or he might go into a fit. Seriously, he stabbed the last guy who said he couldn't.
- ]White has a very... strange goal. Its why he even joined Renaissance in the first place, because he felt that maybe they were the only people who could help him achieve it. He wants to get rid of all the 'bad parents' out there. But, that sort of falls under his own twisted definition as it is. Plus, he doesn't really care what happens to the kids after, just that the parents will be gone. Its not something he voices very often, because it has a lot of holes in it the way he explains it, but that doesn't mean he wants it any less.
He's gunna try and summon a legendary to wreck shit m8
HISTORY
Report number 148, subject James Sutherland. Dr. -expunged- was in charge of questioning. Patient was quiet but seemed to be in an agitated state until 18 minutes, 27 seconds into the interview.
Dr. "James, is there some reason why you're not answering my questions? We're just here to help you, son."
James ".... White."
Dr. "What?"
James "Don't call me... that name. Call me White."
Dr. "Okay then... White. Would you care to tell me about your parents? I hear you have a difficult relationship with them."
Patient was quite for several minutes. Dr. -expunged- proceeded to ask many more questions, but with no answer. Finally, Patient started laughing loudly and started to answer a previous question.
James "A lot of people think... that having 'cool', artist parents would be a dream. My parents were... they were that type. I don't know much about them, from before I was born. My grandma, before she died, told me that they were in college or something when they met. Mom was nineteen, dad was twenty two. He knocked the stupid bitch up and they both had to drop out, come back to her hometown of Iceburgh and move into some stupid old house at the edge of town. So, basically, I ruined their lives.
From what I've heard, lots of people with babies learn how to grow up? Or... I don't know. Seems like as soon as I learned to walk and talk, I was thrown down. Who knows what happened before I could remember. Its weird, because... they loved me, but they didn't... care about me? Its hard to put into words. I don't like answering your stupid questions. I hope this stupid shit shuts you up.
But, so, yeah. Artist parents. People think its 'cool'. I guess it was sometimes. They let me dress how I want, think how I want or whatever. No pressure like I'e heard other parents can put you though. But, like I said, they didn't really care? About me. They were still kids, deep down. Kids don't need to have kids. I'm glad I was the only one they ever made the mistake of having. They had people over all the time, kids in adult's clothing like them. Lots of drinking, drugs, sex... It was always loud, too. People treated me more like some pet than a kid. I remember being hungry a lot too. It was rare they would come out of a stupor or pay attention long enough to make a meal. You ever eaten out of a dog's bowl because someone fed it, but you haven't had anything in two days? Yeah, from the look on your face, I guess not.
I spent a lot of time outside. We didn't have a tv or anything, because it 'killed creativity' or whatever. I can say that I was pretty much just a feral child. Rarely bathed, always covered in dirt and grime... at least outside I was happy, could pretend I was a knight like in a fairy tale. I would get out in the snow and find a stick and screw around in the woods. We lived by woods. It was dangerous, wasn't really supposed to go there, but I did anyway. While I was out there, I saw pokemon eating the white berries of a bush, knew to avoid the bright red ones. I learned a lot from them, even if they didn't know it. It was by watching, observing, that I figured out where all the best places to go were for food, what water was safe to drink, the areas to avoid. Mostly it was the birds I watched. Sometimes they would even let me play with them.
It wasn't until I started to go to school that I made any human friends. I guess I was only sent because I had to go? After I got used to the routine I just sent myself anyway. Guess they thought I could do it myself. Which, I could but... sometimes you don't want to be independent. Sometimes you want a hug and a kiss and to be told its alright, you know? I never got that. But, school. I was talking about that.
So, the weird feral kid in the dirty clothes and ratty hair won't exactly be popular. I certainly wasn't, and I guess not knowing left from right didn't help either. Couldn't read, write, anything... all I knew was the outside. Don't know why the teachers never reported it to anyone. Best I can guess is that Iceburgh was a pretty small town, and no one wanted to get anyone else in trouble? Or something. I was made fun of a lot, but I was too dumb at the time to understand that's what it was. I did end up making one friend, though. Her name was Natalie. She was pretty much the opposite of me... rich, well mannered, spoiled and kind. I don't really know why she was my friend. It got her made fun of too.
Her parents were really nice too. Sometimes I would come over to her house and they would let me eat dinner. They would even pretend not to see when I hid food off my plate in a napkin to take home for later. Natalie was the first person I told about wanting to be a bird, and she said that was okay. I always wanted to be one because birds were almost always nice to their babies. Protected them. She said she wanted to be a princess. When we would play, she would be the princess and I would be her loyal bird knight to protect her. It was fun.
Natalie died. It was my fault. Its when I lost my eye, too. There was this cave, a little ways from town. Everyone knew not to go around that cave. This cave, it was full of some very territorial Beartic. I heard a while back that they were cleared out by the Rangers. But, that's not important. Natalie and I were out playing one day and it started to snow pretty bad, came a blizzard in fact. We took shelter in the closest place we found, which... was this cave. We were okay for a little while. She had a phone and had gotten a message through to her parents, who were coming to get us. Well, then the Beartic came home. Just one, as it was, but a nasty piece of work.
It... well, she's dead, okay? Make up the rest if you want. It also had my eye clawed out pretty quick. Only thing that saved me was... it was the birds. The bird pokemon. They... a whole swarm of them, they flocked in and... Arceus, so many of them died. The... I don't... I think that... Natalie's parents got there next? I was... it was all too much. It hurt too much, there was too much blood. I passed out.
I woke up in the hospital, and everything hurt, and when I started crying it hurt more. The police was there. I told them what happened. Natalie's parents weren't nice to me after that. They told me once, a long time after this, that it was my fault their daughter died. Maybe that's true. I don't know. They saved two of the little bird, too. A Taillow and a Pidove. I took them home with me when I was let out of the hospital. My parents cared for a little while when I got home. Mostly talked turned to how much my medical bills were instead of that I had almost died.
I left not long after that. I was... twelve? Maybe? It blurs together. I registered as a Coordinator with Sword and Shield, but I never did anything with it. I just walked into the woods one day and never came back. I mean, I already knew a lot of stuff, so it was easy to just leave. With my Trainer Card, I could stay at pokecenters for free when I was in town, and I could get food from there. I learned that lots of stuff in the wilds you could sell, all around the region. Did you know a pound of Pidove of The Woods or Pidgey of The Woods Mushrooms you can sell for almost fifty dots? Just bringing in the stuff like that and selling it, I was able to do okay for myself.
I never really concentrated on trying to catch pokemon or do anything. Not until you people brought me here. I just liked being in the wilds, or exploring places, or learning about how to live away from people, or learning about birds. I really like birds. I'm going to be a bird someday. I'm going to be a bird... and I'm going to get rid of all the bad parents. All of them. I don't care what it takes. Just like with that man who said I couldn't be a bird."
-Patient starts to smile and laugh. This doesn't stop for 6 minutes and 38 seconds. Dr. -expunged- cannot get him to stop.-

Reports of a brutal attack last night rocked our small town to its core. James Sutherland, 19, reportedly brutally stabbed local pastry chef Arnold Noland, 38, in his store yesterday evening. It was reported that the two had some sort of dispute, but it in unclear what it was. James, not pictured, was taken in by authorities shortly after the incident, and it is reported that he was quickly moved to the Bayonadaville Home for The Mentally Ill. There is no information yet about the condition of Arnold or (cont. pg. 11)
Police report #86346, Bayonadaville Police Department. April 14th, xxxx
It was reported this morning that James Sutherland, the perpetrator of the Noland Stabbing last year, had gone missing. It is unknown exactly how long he had been gone, but the last sighing of him was by the night nurse who gave him his medication before lights out at the facility. An investigation of the room found that a vent located under the bed was loose and cobwebs had been displaced inside of it. A few nurses and night guards complained of strange noises around 11:30 PM, but no one checked to see what they were. Dr. Milandy urges us to find him as quick as possible, as James will become highly unstable without his medication. At this time, no evidence of his whereabouts had been found. The only clue was a small note that was found in the ventilation system:
'If you really want to join us, then meet me at the spot on the 15th. If you can't make it, you're not worth it.'
OTHER INFORMATION
- No good member of Renaissance would be worth their salt if they didn't have some crazy alter ego to dress us as when they go around slicing people up. Or whatever they do. White didn't ever really... well, he didn't really see the need for one, but if everyone else is dressing up, damnit he wants in! It was really hard pressed for him to find a second totally cool name, and to pick out an outfit he thought really fit. Now, when he dressed up as a plague doctor, he calls himself 'Heart', and he really feels like he's more in touch with his bird inner self!
- Having one eyes doesn't make you very good at seeing stuff. Sure, his eye has been gone for a while so he's used to it, but its sort of screwed with his depth perception. Mostly he's been able to master it, but occasionally you might see him grab for something in front of him and either come up short or overshoot it. When not paying attention, he can also run into things on his bad side because he thinks things are more left than they actually are.
- White is a survival expert, in almost any environment. He's the best in snowy areas, like where he grew up, and is slightly worse in desert situations. Most of his experience is from first hand knowledge than out of a book. He can make a fire with nothing but a few sticks, knows which plants are edible, can make a small shelter in a few hours, and can even weave together crude clothing and make traps for food. He also knows quite a bit about the native pokemon, though his specialty is flying types.
- White has a very severe case of a manic-depressive illness, also known as Bipolar Disorder. This disorder causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to be unable to carry out day-to-day tasks. He suffers from some pretty intense mood swings, which can make him a danger to both himself and those around him. Mostly he stays in the 'manic' state, which means increased energy levels, jumping from idea to idea quickly, and it hard for him to focus on one thing for too long. He is also incredibly violent and easy to anger in this state. Occasionally he has slight periods of 'clarity' where the illness doesn't effect him as much, which is when he is able to do most of his serious thinking and planning.
