When Hercules evolved into Gyarados, not much changed about his personality. Ichiro taught him a plethora of new moves, but Hercules retained a particular fondness for ramming unsuspecting opponents from behind with a strong Tackle attack. He is very hot-headed in battle, quickly flying into bouts of rage when his opponents land hits; however, he always listens to Ichiro's orders, using this anger to fuel his will to win.

Ghazan the Gible is always incredibly hungry; all he thinks about is food. Once, he tried to eat Keiko the Ralts, causing her to hold a strange fear of him, despite the fact that she holds a type advantage over him. Ichiro often bribes him with food in order to get him to learn how to use more powerful moves, and in order to get him to win battles.

Ichiro's hatched Dratini, his first Dragon Pokemon, is rambunctious and carefree. He likes to curl himself around Ichi's arms and squeeze, giving him a sort of makeshift hug. He is determined to win when he battles, attacking gracefully and with finesse. He typically uses his tail to attack his foes, swinging it around and whipping them at high speeds.

Keiko is skittish, shy, and very attached to Ichiro. She cries very easily, but is not hard to cheer up. She can typically be seen clinging to either of Ichiro's legs, or perhaps an arm. She likes when Ichi hugs her or speaks reassuringly; this can stop her from crying. She yearns to make her trainer proud, and thus, battles her hardest against enemies, but is rather frail, and cannot take many hits before fainting.

Lucy is cheerful and upbeat. She likes to take naps in the sun. When awake, she constantly exudes electricity. During battles, she will obey Ichiro's every command and fight relentlessly until she faints. She likes it when Ichiro runs his hand through her wool; this causes her tense muscles to relax. When this happens, she sets off a weak electric current that shocks Ichiro.

Valerie can best be described as passive-aggressive; while she has loyalty to her trainer, she acts apathetic during battle and outside of battle. She's very flamboyant on some occasions, and dull on others. She behaves in many cases like a teenage girl.

Ignacio the Darmanitan is fidgety and hotheaded. He does not trust any humans besides Ichiro or his closest friends. He likes to run around, and at times is hard to control; however, he is very loyal to his trainer, and tries his hardest to please him. He likes when his belly is rubbed. He gets along very well with all of Ichiro's other Pokemon, but has a particular fondness for Keiko the Ralts.

Phoebe is a very passive fish; she is very calm and collected most of the time. During battles, she keeps a cool-headed mindset. One might say she is the opposite of Ignacio, the Darmanitan. She has an unusual fondness for Hercules, despite the fact that he tackled her to a pulp in order for her to be caught. When Ichiro takes them for a swim in the river, she can often be seen swimming alongside Hercules.
