Violence; Do not go into extreme nauseating detail.
Cursing; This is so fucking allowed, but don't go overboard.
Suggestive Content; In avatars, signatures and templates can attract the wrong kind of attention. So be careful.
Today is the first day of Epoch's Writing Month! This is a simple event that will last for the entire month of March.
Each week I will post three prompts for the members to write and complete. Each prompt needs to be PMed me (Lady) for me to read over and account for participation in the event. When PMing prompts to me, please use the same PM conversation for each prompt. This makes it easier for me to keep track of what prompts you have and what prompts you have not done.
Prompts will be posted every Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday of each week. All the prompts for one week need to be submitted by the next Sunday to be counted toward your participation.
There are awards for this event, particularly for participation in one, three, six, nine, and twelve prompts. Everyone who participates will get the reward for participating in at least one prompt. In addition to this reward, for every three prompts you complete, you can earn one of the threshold rewards. However, the rewards do not stack (with the exception of the participation reward). For example, if you write six prompts, you only get the reward for writing six prompts, not the one for writing three of the prompts.
THE AWARDS Participation x1 Genderbent Candy
Completion of 3 Prompts x1 Candy Toward a Single Evo Battle
Completion of 6 Prompts x1 Move Disk x1 Candy Toward a Single Evo Battle x1 Evo of Your Choice
Completion of 9 Prompts x3 Move Disk Pack x1 Free Initial Evo for ONE Pokemon x1 Gender Bent Candy
Completion of 12 Prompts x1 Free Evo for ANY ONE Pokemon (Either Initial or Final, but not both) x5 Move Disk Pack x2 Gender Bent Candies
Some of the prompts will require you to write for a character on the site while others do not require any characters whatsoever. Each prompt will be different. Any prompt that denotes "Free Write (Prompt: ---)" with a prompt will require that you at least mention the word or base your free writing around the prompt for it to count.
On March 31st, an EWM Showcase will be posted in which I will pick one entry from each participant to showcase in a final event thread. This is entirely for fun and its purpose is to show off what your fellow members have written this month.
If you have any questions, please PM me so that I may better understand and clear them up.
Each Prompt will be posted below in this thread, starting with today's prompt. The next prompt will be posted on Tuesday, the next on Friday, and so on.
Have fun with these prompts and enjoy yourselves. There are not any word counts for these prompts, but I would love to see a variety of answers to these prompts and encourage you to post at least 300 words, though it is not required. These prompts are meant to challenge you, so have fun with them, be detailed, and get inspired.
Enjoy yourselves and I look forward to seeing your prompts!
The first prompt of the event is something called Show, Don't Tell. This prompt encourages the writer to describe a tree of their design by showing rather than telling about the tree. Use descriptors, details, adjectives, everything that you need to paint a literal picture with words. The Tree can be made from anything that you want: bones, ash, glass, it could just be a real tree.
This prompt does not include the use of a character. In fact, I only want to see the description of your tree with no dialogue, just description and detail. I encourage each participant to write at least 300 words for this prompt, though it is not required.
This prompt must be PMed to me (Lady) by March 8th, 2015 for it to count toward your participation in this event.
This one is a more simple prompt. It requires that you create three haiku poems and send them to me. If you have never written a Haiku, it's very simple. A haiku consists of three lines with five syllables for the first line, seven syllables for the second line, and five syllables for the third line. Get creative with these, because I have seen a lot of haikus and I know all the unoriginal joking ones.
If you need more information on Haikus, this is a good resource: Click Here
This prompt must be PMed to me (Lady) by March 8th, 2015 for it to count toward your participation in this event.
The last prompt for this week is a free write! Write about anything as long as you include the prompt above in your writing. You can simply just mention the prompt if you would like so long as its somewhere in your writing. If you wanna write all about it, or only mention it in passing, go ahead. Minimum encouraged word count is 300 words.
Have fun, be creative, and send me your prompts! Everything for this week is DUE ON SUNDAY.
This prompt must be PMed to me (Lady) by March 8th, 2015 for it to count toward your participation in this event.

EWP PROMPT #4!
GENDER BEND YOUR CHARACTER
The first prompt for week 2 of EWP is a fun one, in my opinion. What I want you to do it pick one of your characters, any of your characters. They don't have to be on board, you can make a new one up, they can be from your IC only stash. I don't care. Pick one. Once you've picked one, here's what I want you to do.
Genderbend your little darling. If they were a girl before, now they're a boy! If they were a boy, well now they're a girl. I want you to write me a day in the life of your character, as if they have been that gender all of their lives. Make it fun, funny, tragic, dramatic, anything. Just have fun with it!
Suggested minimum word count is 300 words, though it is not required.
In addition, if you have not submitted your prompts to me for last week, you must do it by midnight EASTERN TIME tonight to have your participation count. If you can't do it by then, talk to me, and we can possibly work it out.
This prompt must be PMed to me (Rhafiel Diederich) by March 15th, 2015 for it to count toward your participation in this event.

EWP PSA!
ABOUT THE DEADLINES
After some chatting and consideration, I've decided to change the deadlines for all of the prompts. I would like all twelve prompts to be turned in by March 31st. The Writing Showcase will be posted on April 1st or 2nd depending on how many prompts and such I have to read. The previous deadlines are moot, and as long as the prompts you are participating in are turned in by the 31st, you will earn your participation!

EWP PROMPT #5!
FREE FORM POETRY
The fifth prompt for the event is another poem (and the last poem). Write a poem about anything you want. It can be as long as you want, but no shorter than four lines. It doesn't have to rhyme or make sense, just send me a poem of your creation. If you want to get creative, you can go here and read about the different kinds of poems.
Remember that this needs to be PMed to Rhafiel Diederich by the end of the event on March 31st. Have fun with this one because it's one of the shorter prompts for the event.

Prompt: Superhero AU
The last prompt for this week is a free write, kind of. I want you to take at least one of your characters and write an alternate universe in which your character is a masked superhero. Be creative and have fun, because I'm so excited to see what this prompt is going to bring. There's not much else rule wise for this prompt. Minimum encouraged word count is 300 words.
Remember that this needs to be PMed to Rhafiel Diederich by the end of the event on March 31st.

EWM PROMPT #7!
COMEDY!
Write a Short Skit Using Your Characters and Others On the Site
This prompt is rather simple. Write a short, funny skit using your characters and some of the other characters around the site. If you think about how a lot of you write your little headcanons, write them similar to that in a
Person 1: Blah blah blah -actions- Person 2: Blah blah blah -actions- more blah blah blah
format. It doesn't have to be long, but if can be if you want. Theres no suggested word minimum for this since it's just a simple skit.
Remember that this needs to be PMed to Rhafiel Diederich by the end of the event on March 31st.

EWM PROMPT #8!
COMEDY WEEK!
A Work of Satire
So sorry for delay on this prompt. I thought that I had posted it before, so today you're getting two prompts! WOOO!
Anyway, prompt #8 is another comedy prompt. You must write me a work of satire. I would like this satire to be extra sarcastic and funny. It can be about anything that you want it to be, though I find that making fun of products and objects is way easier than situations and world happenings.
If you don't know how to write a satire, this is a great resource: Click Here

EWM PROMPT #9!

EWM PROMPT #10!

Today's (yesterday's) prompt is an easier one than last week. I want a character of your choice to switch bodies with their closest Pokemon for a day. That it. It's that simple. Minimum suggested word count is 300 words. Have fun with it, be funny. I'm excited to see what you guys can come up with and get into.
Remember that this needs to be PMed to Rhafiel Diederich by the end of the event on March 31st.

EWM PROMPT #11!
Flash Fiction
Today's prompt is flash fiction! Flash fiction is a type of short story in which you write a normal short story. The catch is, the story will end abruptly with some sort of twist. Flash, it's over! Flash fiction can be funny or sad or anything else in between. It's something you should have fun with and craft carefully. Your twist shouldn't be foreshadowed in the slightest, and the reader should not be able to predict what the end to your story it until it finishes. Minimum suggested word count for this prompt is 300 words.
If you need help with writing flash fiction or figuring out what it is, here is a starting resource: Click Here

EWM PROMPT #12!
FREE WRITE
Prompt: Dessert
The last prompt for this event is a prompt about dessert. It is very similar to the first free write about the first day of spring, so have fun with it. All you have to do is make sure you mention some sort of dessert or something in your prompt and you will have accomplished the very last prompt. Minimum encouraged word count is 300 words.
Remember that this needs to be PMed to Rhafiel Diederich by the end of the event on March 31st.

EWM UPDATE!
Because of some schedule conflicts on my end and my desire to give people some more time to write their prompts, I have decided to extent the final turn in date to April 7th, 2015. The showcase will be posted by April 10th, schedule permitting.

EWM COMPLETE!
All prompts that were to be turned in to me should have been in by late last night. I'm no longer accepting submissions. Look for the Showcase in the next few days.
