AS SOON AS THE LIGHTS GO DOWN THE SHADOWS ARE ON YOUR SIDE Miguel had never realized how long it had been since he had experienced complete and utter silence till this very moment. Maybe it was because he usually traveled with a companion and chatted with them about the scenery or something interesting, whether they be Miyu, a business acquaintance, or even his pokemon. Or maybe it was because he was used to voicing out his thoughts out loud when he was by himself even if it made him seem like a madman. Sigh. Maybe he should take out one of his pokemon so that he could have a decent conversation and stop thinking so much. Introspection always lead to bad things if done in places like this after all. However, part of the reason why he had chosen to look through the debris of all places was because he needed some alone time to clear his head and prevent himself from suffering over-saturation of people's minds and emotions. His master told him that it would be very unwise of him to let that happen and have himself burn out because he might go crazy (or as some might say crazier) or worse, blind and overcome with pain at an inopportune moment. Slowly, he moved his foot off of the thign he had just stepped on and then looked down. His eyebrow twitched upon seeing what it was. ”You have got to be kidding me. Again?” Miguel absently kicked some of the crushed remains of the glasses he had just stepped on and watched as they hit the wall with an inaudible thud. ”What kind of idiot loses the same kind of glasses twice?” It didn't occur to him that it might've been a different person who lost the glasses, but ht was irritated enough to ignore the possibility for now. ”I have half a mind to track down this idiot and force-feed him the broken remains of his glasses.” Miguel muttered to himself as he scraped the remains of the glasses off of his shoe. ”If only it wouldn't be such a bother. Probably won't learn anything anyway if the idiot was negligent enough to drop two pairs of his glasses.” With a shake of his head, he huffed in frustration and continued down the hallway, hoping against hope not to step onto another pair of glasses again. AS SOON AS THE LIGHTS GO DOWN THE SHADOWS ARE ON YOUR SIDE Upon seeing a fossil of something that looked like a claw of sorts propped up on a rusty steel stand in the side of the hallway, Miguel stopped and tilted his head in wonder. ”A display? Here?” He muttered as he peered at the fossil with narrowed eyes, inspecting every inch of it. Not that it helped, of course, since he didn't know a damned thing about fossils despite them being a form of a corpse and often the subject of kid-friendly necromancy. Old rocks weren't his thing. No offense to those nerds studying them but they weren't awesome enough for his taste. Not in that state anyway. Still, something was bugging him about the display. "Either someone was way ahead of their time with art displays, was a certified nutter, or these ruins aren't as old as I thought they were. Would explain a lot of things about the decor, though I'd really need to talk to the caretaker or something about letting a relatively-recent place go to shit and claim that it was ancient ruins.” Tsk, tsk. False advertising. That was something that evil people like him did, not supposedly decent folk like the caretaker. Help these days. Such a disappointment. AS SOON AS THE LIGHTS GO DOWN THE SHADOWS ARE ON YOUR SIDE Upon encountering a plain-looking door, Miguel wasn’t expecting anything nice to be behind it. The place didn’t look like the type to be secretive and subtle after all, especially considering the décor. He was quickly proven wrong as soon as he opened it. ”Whoa… now this is awesome.” It was almost as if he was transported back in time to Kalos of over a thousand years ago. Pristine white walls with ornate gold leaf designs set in intricate patterns and an equally-pristine red-tiled floor that still retained most of its gloss and polish set a tone of fine elegance and refinement, which worked well with its dark wood furniture and simple yet beautiful brass chandelier. One of the pieces of furniture was a dark wooden cabinet with a lot of crystalline objects on display that his trained eye could tell was very real. The only thing out of place was the strange rainbow sphere that resembled the one that some redhead had given him in exchange for one of the curious marbles he had found in the Badlands of his home region. Curiosity piqued, he walked forward to the cabinet and opened it slowly, then gently took out the stone from its pedestal. Click!
